Hi I'm texlaxed also but my hair was super puffy when the salon did a roller set ... I wanna try again with my current hair dresser but I'm afraid it won't work out .. What are ur tips to get good results with roller setting texlaxed hair? Thank u!
Gina D. Things that work for me are....deep conditioning...a good foam wrap that doesn’t dry out my hair. I like BB foam wrap because it give me shine...also sometimes Jane carter wrap & roll....because of the light weight feeling it gives my hair....I also use sometimes design essential almond & avocado foam wrap....and I use to use lotta body but stopped because of the crunchiness it made my hair...lol. But really any foam will work it just depends on what u are looking for. Key tips are to practice like crazy....I found the more I did it the better I got. Also....watching RUclips videos helped a lot. Also make sure u detangle and smooth your hair....doing so will improve your results drastically. Also I like to roller set with perm rods and flexirods. They are easier to control how snug the roller should be to get good results. Last, I prefer roller setting on blown out hair compared to wet hair. I found that process easier because the detangling part was done with the aid of the blow dryer and everything wasn’t so wet and messy where I couldn’t control how I wanted the hair to lay on the rollers. So once I found that out....I started doing dry roller sets. You can RUclips to see examples of how it’s done also. Hope that helped😊

My hair wasn’t so bad because I constantly maintained it in my own little way. I wasn’t that bad because I wore it out and kept it moisturized most times. Plus I had a nice amount of hair on my head
Your hair is gorg! I really wanna process my own hair. I think I'll do a video on it when I finally do. I've talked about other processes that can straighten natural hair esp for those who react to relaxers on my channel.
Be careful taking advice. (Many folk do not know how to properly apply a relaxer in order to loosen the curl -- that's all "texlaxing" is... N if they do not know YOUR hair it'll be difficult to explain in great detail for best results).
In order to get back the same texture is to time your hair when you do it the first time and the next time you do it again then use the same amount of minutes you used before to achieve the same texture.
I accidentally Tex lazed my hair 😭💀 I just wanted to loosen my coils but instead I lost all my coils but kept the puff and volume. I miss my coils ☹️ I’ve been able to manage my hair much easier and I’ve been maintaining length but I really want my coils back.
Wait, what? How can you speak so sweetly and not be constantly posting videos? Just got here to,I am going to subscribe please post more and revive this channel. Love you already 😘
Your hair is beautiful. You are beautiful too! Must confess, never heard that word before. I'm now natural, transitioned years ago, still have thinning on some areas though. I definitely can't do this texlax myself at home, right? How is the mixture done?
Hen Flash some people do it by themselves, but I prefer for it to be done by a professional.. conditioner is mixed with a relaxer to help slow down the processing rate of the relaxer when it is applied on one’s hair
How do I Texlaxed my natural hair bc is breaking. I don't want to relax it again, I used to but all went off so I decided to go natural. Which product do I use to grow it naturally and cream or oils to use. Tanks Ify for sharing.
Please do not texlax your hair if it’s breaking. It could worsen the situation.. focus on deep conditioning and hair treatments for now. Hormones can be a suspect too.
@@IfyOkoye damm i am glad i found this! My hair is also natural and breaking dou due to heat and cornrows, so i was thinking maybe relaxing it can make it better since i used to have healthier relaxed hair
The chemicals are the same. They're just marketed differently..In other words, the *label* on the box can say "texturizer".. Or "relaxer". The chemicals are the same though. U can get your hair bone straight using the box labeled 'texturizer' , n u can texlax (as the trendy term goes) using a box labeled 'relaxer'. *Its all in how it's applied and smoothed.
Straight hair is easier to roller set. Hair with more curl pattern is harder and limiting the amount of heat on your hair is important for hair growth too
@@IfyOkoye so thank you for your soon reply, i am about to texlax my hair soon :) I am so nerveous. I have Natural hair till shoulder and I want to grow my hair past shoulder :) last question before I texlax I have to wash it or doens't matter?
A relaxer is the same chemical. The *SAME* chemical. Tex-lax is just a new age term meaning the same as a 'Texturizer' (which , again, is the *same chemical* as a relaxer, but marketed differently.) One can texturize their hair WITH a RELAXER. On the other hand, one can get bone straight hair using a 'Texturizer or Tex-Lax box'.. *It all has to do with the length and smoothing of how its APPLIED.* ****Just wanted to bring clarity with this confusion I've seen over social media concerning this.***** ♥ ♥ peace n love

Texlaxing is to do with less timing than relax hair. Example 12 mins this is applying the relaxer and then washing it out. Reduce smoothing out the hair too much.
Detangle on a regular basis.
Be careful how long you stretch your hair. What works for some is to only stretch for a months , do not try and go above what your hair can handle.

Not sure of a place where you can learn in lagos. My advice will be to look it up on RUclips
Thank God I just cut my hair, gonna try this
Yay!
You never put up the follow up video again..😒 I'm natural and tired, you've inspired me to make a change..
New video up shortly ❤️
please do a maintiance or routine video.thank you
I will soon 🙏🏼❤️
Your hair is gorg! I really wanna process my own hair. I think I'll do a video on it when I finally do. I've talked about other processes that can straighten natural hair esp for those who react to relaxers on my channel.
What brands? Im been natural since 2014 i have twin infants im jus over it
Nice one Queen
I'm relax but trying to get into texlax.
Get a professional so you don’t ruin your hair
How do I texlax please??
Be careful taking advice. (Many folk do not know how to properly apply a relaxer in order to loosen the curl -- that's all "texlaxing" is... N if they do not know YOUR hair it'll be difficult to explain in great detail for best results).
Question, how do you Texlax the same each time? 3 different textures(relax, texlax, new growth) may be challenging to handle?
In order to get back the same texture is to time your hair when you do it the first time and the next time you do it again then use the same amount of minutes you used before to achieve the same texture.
Great tip, also to apply it in the same order as u did the first application.
I accidentally Tex lazed my hair 😭💀 I just wanted to loosen my coils but instead I lost all my coils but kept the puff and volume. I miss my coils ☹️ I’ve been able to manage my hair much easier and I’ve been maintaining length but I really want my coils back.
Sorry to hear that.... allow it to grow back.. give it time ok
Do you do protein treatments
Absolutely.. every 6weeks
Pls does it shrink when water touches it? Pls can we see the length of your hair
Yes, when it’s fully dried, it will shrink
What do you use to texlax?
Wait, what? How can you speak so sweetly and not be constantly posting videos? Just got here to,I am going to subscribe please post more and revive this channel. Love you already 😘
Thank you so much! I just posted a new video now.. you should check it out so you know why I have been absent ❤️🙏🏼
Thank you so much!!
@@IfyOkoye I appreciate your reply. I'll keep you posted :-)
Can you please tell me what products you use to texlax your hair?
Will post a video soon
Please, I can texlaxed my hair and stretch my hair same day??
Yes absolutely!! But I use a blow drier only. That’s the only time I get heat on my hair
Can one texlax and color? Do you color first or texlax first? I have a lit of gray and need to use semi permanent color every 2 months.
It depends! How often do you color your hair?
Who came up with the term "texlaxing"?
Lol! Not me
Haha, 😂😂this is an interesting question
What brand of texturizer do you use?
I use a no lye relaxer from ors hair care brand
@@IfyOkoye Thank you.
Please someone should help me how to texlax my hair
Go to a professional hair stylist..🙏🏼
Can I braid my hair if I decide to Tex lace it?
Absolutely! But give it 2 weeks before you braid please
Can you put a text lax on your hair if you have a relaxer but you haven’t relaxed your hair in 5 months ?
texlaxing is like relaxing...the difference is in the chemicals and methods of application.. will give more insight in the near future
@@IfyOkoye No, *The chemicals are the same.* The application is different.
T G I use a no lye relaxer mixed with a conditioner to slow down the processing rate of the relaxer
@@IfyOkoye Yes I see that often. That's pretty popular now.
Still don't get it...
Why is it difficult to roller set?
Straight hair is easier to roller set. Hair with more curl pattern is harder and limiting the amount of heat on your hair is important for hair growth too
Does text laxing have any side effect. Because it’s chemicals you add on it.
No side effect so far. It’s a safer option than relaxing in my opinion
Will you show me how you style your bun hairstyle with outfits?
Absolutely.. will post some hair videos soon
You are very beautiful. I came for information but can't seem to focus lol
Lol! Please focus 🤣🤣 🙏🏼 thank you
How often do you texlax?
l texlax every 24 - 28 weeks
Do you have to continue to texlax your hair like a perm
Every 6-7 months
How often do you texlax your hair?
Every 7months
How do you texlaxe natural hair? Is it from the root to the tip for first time texlaxing?
posting my texlaxing video shortly.. turn on notification if you haven't 😘
@@IfyOkoye ql,
No, never start at the roots.
NOW I KNOW
How long do u leave it in for
The whole application process and texlaxing is about 12-15 minutes
Is it possible to texlax a very coarse hair?
Yes it is. (Those are the ones that usually can use and want a texturizer).
@@user-zx5xw4yw2e thanks
Did you say you left the relaxer on for ten minutes or fourteen minutes?
14 minutes.. my detailed texlax video is up in a few days
Ify Okoye can’t wait!!
My hair has been thinning out and weak, what do you suggest?you are so beautiful
Bilkisu Tijani Isah try texlaxing and deep condition with heat once a week
@@IfyOkoye how do you deep condition with heat? Do you mean steaming your hair weekly?
Didi Agu yes steaming your hair weekly to help revive and strengthen it.
Well first u need to get to the root of why yr hair is weak and thinning. Get a check up. Find out whats going on inside yr body. That's first
You are so beautiful 🥰
How often do you texlax your hair? Hope you can reply to me pleaseeeee🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
hi nicky.. i texlax every 7 months
@@IfyOkoye so thank you for your soon reply, i am about to texlax my hair soon :) I am so nerveous. I have Natural hair till shoulder and I want to grow my hair past shoulder :)
last question before I texlax I have to wash it or doens't matter?
Yes wash your hair a week prior to your texlax day.. 😘
@@IfyOkoye thank you dear! I have soooo many questions so! Thank you once again !
What texlax brand do you use?
I love the cream of natural argan oil regular no lye relaxer
Can I relax my hair first and then texlax my hair if I change my mind?
It’s safer to just texlax and not relax
No! U can't do that. Once you get it bone straight it won't revert. You'd have to cut off the straight hair and start over with the new growth.
You've got pretty eyes
Thank you ❤
Using a texturizer relaxer, is it ok for textlaxing?
Kesiena Ejinkeonye yes it’s safer on your hair
The chemicals are the same. I wouldn't say it's safer, as it is the SAME chemicals--no difference. *Folk need to understand that.
yaaaaayyy .
Texlax is for folks that don't want overprocessed hair caused by relaxers.
absolutely
A relaxer is the same chemical. The *SAME* chemical. Tex-lax is just a new age term meaning the same as a 'Texturizer' (which , again, is the *same chemical* as a relaxer, but marketed differently.) One can texturize their hair WITH a RELAXER. On the other hand, one can get bone straight hair using a 'Texturizer or Tex-Lax box'.. *It all has to do with the length and smoothing of how its APPLIED.* ****Just wanted to bring clarity with this confusion I've seen over social media concerning this.***** ♥ ♥ peace n love
