I just texlaxed after 12 years natural . I used dark and lovely perm and diluted it with olive oil. My total processing times was only 8 minutes . My hair still looks natural but the curls are a little looser and my hair actually feels stronger and combs through with no shedding
After three years natural I just tex-laxed. Results came out great. My Daughter is natural and asked why did I do it. The simplest answer was I wanted to.
The funny part about this is most of the girls on RUclips claiminf to be "natural" are actually using texturizer to get a curlier pattern lol. I see right through them. Im a hairstylist for over 20 years working with texturizersso I can spot it right away. So I love your honesty. And your hair is beautiful
i was natural until 6 weeks back then i did mine just like yours after seeing you do it and i LOVE the results. My hair still has strength , it doesn't feel stringy and thin and lifeless. it feels like my hair when its ironed out straight. and i font gotta use heat anymore. i don't even care about the frizz, or getting it wet . I just do all the same things as when i was natural.
I used the same product today and I love my results. It looks like yours! I cut off my dead ends and my hair is so luxurious and shiny. I’ve been swishing it all around because I can’t get enough.
***** Don't do it of your new at natural hair. I say give it about 4 years until you get to a good length and then see how you like it.I been natural 6 yrs and it was difficult, I even thought about going back but now i love it. Trust me, don't do something based on someone else's results because yours will not be the same. Especially if your looking at the texture her hair is. Do research first pls
J S Too late. Lol. I didn't relax. I could never go completely back. I put a texture softener in it. It made a world of difference. Video is up. YOURS looks great too. 🌹
I know I'm 13,000 years late...but thanks for this...ive been natural 6 years and this was the change I was looking for...not bone straight...but just a lil texture and to manage it better
My jaw dropped when you took the towel off of your hair. Your texlaxed hair is so gorgeous! The thought of relaxing my hair myself terrifies me. Thankfully I have two older sisters, so my mom learned how to do it, and i dont have to go to the salon. But when my mom gets tired of relaxing my hair, I might have to learn this. Really amazing video! :-)
oh my word your accent is SO freaking adorable. I could listen to you for hrs. I have texlaxed my hair recently and now having done more research in how to take care of it, I am so happy. I am armed to the teeth with every product I need
This is exactly how I love for my hair to look. Straight but big and fluffy when its dry and wavy and beautiful when its wet! Come to think of it we got the same curl pattern
I’ve been watching texlax videos for almost 2 weeks now and this is the best I’ve seen. I’ve been natural for almost 5 years now and really needed a change. I will definitely be using this video as a guide!!!! Thank you!!!
ok so your hair is a necessary staple in life... but if i had it... i would still wig it up... i would protect the fuck out of that hair... i dont want no one touching it, seeing it, i dont want elements to hit it, and most importantly i want to protect it from myself😆😂
THis turned out great. But honestly if I left a relaxer on my head for more than 17 minutes (AND smoothed it with a comb) my hair would be totally straight lol You must have very resistant strands
StarRoseAngelic Gee i wish I had your problems. My hair is so resistant to relaxers that I can relax my hair (leaving it on for 25 mins), then do it again within a two week period, and it will still be curly. It will be fried but, curly.
I feel like if I left it on my hair that long it would be bone straight... if I had any left. I'm glad you found something that works for you. Love the waves!
Camarie Collier did you record it and UPLOAD it? I want to do the same but I'm scared about the results so I'm trying to see what everyone else's is looking like lol
Camarie Collier SSAAAMMEEE looool I have my mind set on doing it but I gotta see other people's results even tho I know mine won't be the same I just gotta see the process and stuff 😅😂
excuse the name im on my grandfather phone but I had texlaxed hair on a accident I went fully natural with a big chop 4 years ago and yesterday I got a perm and omg it's so curly, it's way curly than most texlaxed girls but I really love it. I love wearing it in a fro
I love that you made this video! I heard about this but had no idea what it was. Seems so exciting to be able to change your texture and experience new textures without horribly damaging your hair. SO cute!
she got a ton of hair!! & it looks healthy asf so she knows what she's doing. shit I wanna relax mine but everyone keeps telling me don't do it! dealing with natural hair is a fuckin headache!! my shit be tangled asf after a few days im breaking it off trying to get the tangles out
I have been debating trying to texlax. My hair is extremely thick and its collar bone length so it can be difficult to manage. My hair has grown a lot and gotten much healthier since I have been following you and ulovemegz. So this video has convinced me to try. Thanks for sharing.
I need to start relaxing my own hair, I feel like no one ever does it the exact way I want it no matter how much I instruct them. I have this fear of splashing relaxer in my eyes and going blind though....
Girl, I need to learn too. My freshman year in highschool I let my sister relax my hair, and she based my head with the vasline all around but not so much my neck, and the whole time she was relaxing my hair a huge glob of it landed on my neck passed the part where the Vaseline was & it burned me. NEVER AGAIN!
True ☺I do the same thing. I also relax my roots and my edges. I was told to never relax the ends of my hair because it can over process my hair and cause breakage😬.
Some people are getting very confused with the whole "texlax" term. It's just another term for texturizer; it's the same thing! You are basically relaxing/perming the hair (same chemicals) but leaving it in for a shorter amount of time. This just loosens your curl/kink pattern and doesn't make your hair super straight (although you can get it straight by blow drying and flat ironing). How loose your texture will be after applying the texturizer/texlaxer all depends on your natural hair. Some of us naturally have multiple hair textures on our heads and for these people (myself included), texturizing might not yield a great result since some of the hair might come out like you want while the naturally looser curls will be way too straight. I am completely natural now but texturized my hair years ago (which you can do with a regular perm/relaxer) and that was my result and the result that many others have reported who naturally have multiple textures. Also, there is a big misconception that texturized/texlaxed hair grows out and becomes your natural hair again. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! (this includes the "texture softeners" as well). This is relaxed/permed hair so the only thing that will get rid of it is cutting it off just like when people transition from permed hair to natural; the permed/texturized ends will eventually need to be cut off if your objective is to one day go completely natural.
I thought to text likes your hair you had to weaken the relaxer by adding different oils to it this is a different technique than I've used in the past thank you so much for your perspective
Mykaella Panier when I first started relaxing my hair now I'm natural for 3 years I'm thinking of going back but I forgot how to relax my hair their are many salons which would relax my hair but of corse I don't know where u live so it kinda depends
overall that turned out really good. I've noticed that a lot of times people's curls turn out different textures over their whole head when they textlax
Wow! Girl, i thought your hair was going to be relaxed to the GODS after 22 minutes of processing but it is not! Your hair is gorgeous! Nice job! Did you have many setbacks when you first started texlaxing your hair before you found what worked for you?? Any suggestions for someone who is interested but terrified of accidentally relaxing their hair?
Ok so after watching several videos I see what you did, you just put it on the edges and roots. Not your whole head which is probably why most people say they have stringy ends. I watched another video, she applied it the same way and it came out the exact same way so I’m gonna apply it this way thank you
Chile I just about fainted when you took the towel off of your hair! Omg your hair is sooo gorg. I wish my hair looked that good texlaxed. Thank you for this video. Relaxing my own hair is what made me accidentally texlaxed in the first place lol I corrective relaxed but it didn't budge. Anywho, I hope my texture looks this great when I relax in a few weeks! Btw, where are you from? Lol
You have some beautiful hair! 😍I am so glad to see a tutorial on someone who still relaxes their hair! I use the same relaxer and I love having relaxed hair. I see so many woman doing the natural hair and that's cool for them but I prefer something more manageable. Great video😊
Your hair looks so thick and healthy. I have stopped hard relaxing my hair and I have been using Dr. Miracle relaxer mixed with Brazilian Keratin Therapy Conditioner to Texlax my hair. In the past I over processed my hair so I am cutting an inch to 2 inches every 2 months. At the top of my shoulder now... Hope to be your length by the end of the year.
Thanks so much for your video. This will be my 2nd time Texlaxing following your directions and it works. Even with combing through my hair at the end. I had the curls and everything. 😂😂.
you might need to leave it on your hair for less time. You could also add a little olive oil to your relaxer so the relaxer isn't as strong. I used the just for me that comes with sunflower seed oil to add to the relaxer and it works well for me.
Your curl pattern was beautiful before and after. And your hair is so long and healthy! New subby. Going to watch some older vids to watch your journey
I had a perm at least a month ago and I tried to texturize my hair. The only part that took was the roots that was new growth, and the back where a lot of new growth was. Everything else stayed straight.
+bun223 texturizer will not make your curly. It will only loosen up your curl pattern or can make it straight. But once your hair is permed straigtht you cant go back and make it curly with out a curly perm, that I know nothing about. But perms relaxers and texturizers like she is using is not going to make your hair curly. In the beginning it looks as if her hair is straight because she blow dried it the previous week. But that is why people do big chops and etc, to get rid of hair that has been overly processed. I don't know if that answers your concern.
I don't relax my hair anymore but thank u for informing everyone to wash their hair more than once. I think when I was relaxing my hair my issue was breakage. I didn't wash the relaxer out completely
I just texlaxed after 12 years natural . I used dark and lovely perm and diluted it with olive oil. My total processing times was only 8 minutes . My hair still looks natural but the curls are a little looser and my hair actually feels stronger and combs through with no shedding
is it dry?
Thanks for sharing. This is exactly my goal
After three years natural I just tex-laxed. Results came out great. My Daughter is natural and asked why did I do it. The simplest answer was I wanted to.
Mary Did you use a relaxer or a texturizer? I'm thinking about texturizing too
I feel like my hair would be straight if I left it on that long. ugh this texlax stuff is a science lol
Jayla Indie indeed it is. The porosity of your hair makes a big difference too. My hair never got bone straight with a relaxer due to my low porosity.
The funny part about this is most of the girls on RUclips claiminf to be "natural" are actually using texturizer to get a curlier pattern lol. I see right through them. Im a hairstylist for over 20 years working with texturizersso I can spot it right away. So I love your honesty. And your hair is beautiful
Jerusalem I was thinking the same

After 3 years natural, I'm ready to go back! And I'm using your techniques! Thanks!!
I just started transitioning and then this video comes into my life 😫
Mari Marie I know right, lol it just changed my life. I will definitely be texlaxing my hair now
I used the same product today and I love my results. It looks like yours! I cut off my dead ends and my hair is so luxurious and shiny. I’ve been swishing it all around because I can’t get enough.
I am sooooo close to putting SOMETHING in my hair! Yours looks healthy as hell. Mine is getting to be too much to handle. Good video.

***** I'm running into you everywhere.. LOL.. I follow you in IG.. LOL.
Absolutely gorgeous. I wish we could keep that
"wet look" it's so pretty when it's wet, but looks
the total opposite when it's dry!
I know I'm 13,000 years late...but thanks for this...ive been natural 6 years and this was the change I was looking for...not bone straight...but just a lil texture and to manage it better
anytime you wash your hair and you take the towel off of it, I just freak out lol. You have the prettiest texture from texlaxing ive ever seen.
Lol Thank you 😃
My jaw dropped when you took the towel off of your hair. Your texlaxed hair is so gorgeous! The thought of relaxing my hair myself terrifies me. Awww thank you 😊 it's not that bad when you do it yourself, but if I had a sister I would get her to do mine to.
oh my word your accent is SO freaking adorable. I could listen to you for hrs. I have texlaxed my hair recently and now having done more research in how to take care of it, I am so happy. I am armed to the teeth with every product I need

I did what you did except I used Dark and Lovely and my hair turned out beautifully.
Thank you for posting this video. I am in love with my hair.
I began transitioning to texlaxed about 4 months ago and I absolutely love it!! I can't wait until my entire head is fully texlaxed. Great video.
ok so your hair is a necessary staple in life... but if i had it... i would still wig it up... i would protect the fuck out of that hair... i dont want no one touching it, seeing it, i dont want elements to hit it, and most importantly i want to protect it from myself😆😂
GTPrincess123 "no elements hitting it" 😂😂😂
I did it just like you did and my hair came out great. Processing time was 16minutes.
Everything you said in this video is informative and correct! I don’t understand why anyone disliked it 🤷🏽♀️
Leftover relaxer perm is great for cleaning off your curling irons, pressing combs, and hair heating tools.
THis turned out great. But honestly if I left a relaxer on my head for more than 17 minutes (AND smoothed it with a comb) my hair would be totally straight lol You must have very resistant strands
I agree. Just 15mins and finger smoothing and my hair is straight. even though i dilute the relaxer with oil.
StarRoseAngelic Gee i wish I had your problems. My hair is so resistant to relaxers that I can relax my hair (leaving it on for 25 mins), then do it again within a two week period, and it will still be curly. It will be fried but, curly.
Mine too!! I said “uhhh uhh” lol!
Right I only do ten minutes
Beautiful hair! I'm 19 months post but looking at your hair is so tempting to me! OMG! I gotta be strong!🙌
still using this technique in 2018!!!! THANK YOU!!
I feel like if I left it on my hair that long it would be bone straight... if I had any left. I'm glad you found something that works for you. Love the waves!
It's because she used no-lye
I used a relaxer but didn't put it on that long and my hair came out with beautiful curls I absolutely love them😍😍
Camarie Collier did you record it and UPLOAD it? I want to do the same but I'm scared about the results so I'm trying to see what everyone else's is looking like lol

Blacarican Princesss you guys should test it out on a few strands of hair first to see how it would turn out
i love your texlaxed hair!! so pretty
JourneyTo WaistLength Thank you! & I love your natural hair :)
I love curls

Its perfectly texlaxed. Its hard for most people to keep the consistency. Good for you.
That's my texture without a relaxer. I'm trying to get that LENGTH girl!! Gorgeous!
I was thinking about texturizing my hair if it got really long. But after looking at this video and the state of my hair... I changed my mind.
Your hair is so long. I'm natural but it's interesting to watch relaxer videos...reminds me of my relaxers.
Lol girl me too, I remember the days..
Same hahahaha
Her hair is so long and beautiful😩😍
I have been debating trying to texlax. My hair is extremely thick and its collar bone length so it can be difficult to manage. My hair has grown a lot and gotten much healthier since I have been following you and ulovemegz. So this video has convinced me to try. Thanks for sharing.
Girl, you hair is all kinds of gorgeousness and liveliness!!!
I usually grease my ears with Vaseline to protect them but those little ear covers have to be cutest thing I’ve ever seen lol lol
Your accent is adorable lol
I need to start relaxing my own hair, I feel like no one ever does it the exact way I want it no matter how much I instruct them. I have this fear of splashing relaxer in my eyes and going blind though....
LOOOOL its not that deep
Pictur3Perf3ct It is, I enjoy seeing things lol

Love your texlaxed texture. When I was relaxed/texlaxed, my stylist use to use the comb to brush in the relaxer through the new growth as well

I'm I the only one think she favors the older sister that played in the TV show smart guy? Very pretty 🙂
I never knew of texlaxing your hair before this. It looks amazing.
I like her voice :-)
AMIRIES4LIFE vkooknamjinvhopechimchim ARMY!
HEY ARMY!!!! whose your bias :-P jk u don't have to answer that but its great seeing another ARMY
I thought to text likes your hair you had to weaken the relaxer by adding different oils to it this is a different technique than I've used in the past thank you so much for your perspective
It just depends on your hair texture. If you have finer thinner hair I would probably recommend adding oil.
thank you... being im honestly thinking on going from relaxing to texlaxing just the new growth
Your hair is gorgeous. Makes me miss those straight edges...
your texlaxed hair looks so pretty and healthy. I'm almost finally fully texlaxed just a few more straight pieces to get rid of.
Thank you, and good luck 😃
If you have straight pieces, it's over-processed.
Brittany Hudson i know that. Im transitioning from bone straight relaxed to texlaxed
jenfran777 DUH lol...some people are so slow lol
naturalbeauty615 how???
I like texlax better than normal relaxers.
This was the best textlax video. Excellent! Awesome job!
I wish I knew how to texlax my hair myself but I'm so scared
Me too
Mykaella Panier when I first started relaxing my hair now I'm natural for 3 years I'm thinking of going back but I forgot how to relax my hair their are many salons which would relax my hair but of corse I don't know where u live so it kinda depends
Mykaella Panier you can experiment with the process using a conditioner. Just to get back into the habit of the process
just try on a few strands of hair and if it doesn't turn out right don't do it
Mykaella Panier mere took
overall that turned out really good. I've noticed that a lot of times people's curls turn out different textures over their whole head when they textlax
Love how thick and healthy your hair is! And props to you for texlaxing your own hair, I was never brave enough to! You did a great job :)
You have the best Texlax hair, Love It!
lovee ur hair!!!
NaturalNeiicey Thanks girl! I love your hair too :)
Your hair looks so pretty after texlex!
you have beautiful hair!!! to me it makes sense just to do the roots I was so used to seeing people do the whole hair and then it made the hair weak.
Wow! Girl, i thought your hair was going to be relaxed to the GODS after 22 minutes of processing but it is not! Your hair is gorgeous! Nice job! Did you have many setbacks when you first started texlaxing your hair before you found what worked for you?? Awesome! Love the texture. Thx for sharing
Ok so after watching several videos I see what you did, you just put it on the edges and roots. Not your whole head which is probably why most people say they have stringy ends. Hello babilin kay, o my hair it is curly 4B you think best I do what ? texturing or relaxer ?
Gorgeous hair.

Lol
your texlaxed hair is gorg.. it looks natural.
You have some beautiful hair! 😍I am so glad to see a tutorial on someone who still relaxes their hair! I use the same relaxer and I love having relaxed hair. I see so many woman doing the natural hair and that's cool for them but I prefer something more manageable. Great video😊
Her Hair Is Natural She Just Likes Her Edges & Roots To Be Like Smooth, So Basically Tha Rest Of Her Hair Has Tha Natural Curl Pattern.
Her Hair Is Natural She Just Likes Her Edges & Roots To Be Like Smooth, So Basically Tha Rest Of Her Hair Has Tha Natural Curl Pattern.
+Brandy Clemons she's not natural; she's touching up her relaxer, which means she has previously relaxed hair...she says it in the beginning
Oh Okay, So How Did She Get That Type Of Texture & Curl Pattern?
+Brandy Clemons the relaxer doesn't totally straighten your/her hair it leaves your with the type of curl pattern.
I'm scared to texlax my whole head. I just have to get these edges a little smoother that's all.
I loved your hair texture! Thanks for sharing your tips!
I'm relaxed but now I'm kinda tempted to texlax from looking at your hair.
omg, this makes me want to texlax my hair now. Love the Curly Look :)
Beautiful results! I know it can't be easy to do the reclassification and film. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😊
You make it look so easy!!!
Yes I luv it im getting mine done soon... Thanks for sharing
You such a natural beauty!
Your hair is BEAUTIFUL!
Omg your hair is do pretty im gonna start texlaxing
Wow! Your hair is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TEXLAXING YOUR HAIR? WHAT DID YOUR HAIR LOOK LIKE BEFORE? GREAT JOB TAKING CARE OF YOUR HAIR!
Great job, I will start put the protein back into my hair. Thanks for sharing. You have great cheek bones.
I love the way you speak :D
me too
great detailed video .. I truly remember these steps but cover all hair.
I LOVE your hair!!!! I am seriously considering texlaxing my hair.
Gorgeous.
Ugh every time I try to texlax it always comes out fully relaxed. I use dark and lovely tho. Anything I'm doing wrong?
you might need to leave it on your hair for less time. You could also add a little olive oil to your relaxer so the relaxer isn't as strong. I used the just for me that comes with sunflower seed oil to add to the relaxer and it works well for me.
Your curl pattern was beautiful before and after. And your hair is so long and healthy! New subby. Going to watch some older vids to watch your journey

yeah I'm not doing this again. I learned from it though.
I Love The Accent!!
Your hair is so beautiful!!
Like how textured it still is....
I just want my roots done...
Your hair is lovely!! Tfs sis!!
Nice results Babs!!!
Where did you get the oil comb thing from?
It a it dye or shampoo applicator. I found my at Walmart and Sally's and it really makes applying the oil a breeze
I don't relax my hair anymore but thank u for informing everyone to wash their hair more than once. I think when I was relaxing my hair my issue was breakage. I didn't wash the relaxer out completely
Hey Babs! Yes, ORS is the best for texlaxing. Your hair looks great :-)
***** thanks girl :)
I love your texlaxed hair. Can you do a video of how you dye your hair?
Thank you
