I did an experiment with my hair and started to treat my hair similar to non black women hair care and I found that my hair does not like moisturizing products. But instead response better to smoothing products. It helped parts of my hair to become smoother and reduce friction so that I could have more defined curls and they can clump together. Hey girl, can you elaborate on what you mean by your hair texture changes each time you cut it because I also noticed since my last big chop my hair has gotten darker and more silkier and curly than last time. It was more dry brown and not defined.
@geminienergy that's exactly what I mean. Lol Different parts of my hair have become more silkier and clump together easily. Like a perfect ringlet. Especially on my crown.
@@Bree_Bunny I'm sorry I'm so late to this comment. So I use to use Garnier Fructis sleek and Shine. The way that the line would hydrate my hair was different from simply using moisturizing products. I do not believe solely moisturizing the hair will do anything. But curly hair can also benefit from using other methods to help reduce the friction in between strands. Another brand that I would recommend is the Creme of Nature argan oil line as well. This line has done well with reducing my frizz and helping with defining my curl pattern as well. Also, I washed my hair more than once a week which also helped.
Mild texturizers like Mizani are excellent for texlaxing your hair. I use to do it around every 4 months. I deep conditioned it with Shea Moisture conditioner and add Indian herbal powders to it, and it really keeps your hair strong!..Texlaxing did make my hair more dry than usual and I had to trim it more often than when completely natural, but it is worth it though, it made styling a lot more easy.
