I remember being in 4th grade and going to a salon to get a blowout. At that time, my hair was heat damaged, no protein or moisture, matted, and my ends were so split. I had gotten a protein treatment and this same hairstyle. I was younger, so I was kind of upset that my hair wasn't like my both of my sisters, who were both past shoulder length and mine was chin length. I continued going to that same salon for all of the 4th-grade year (except once when I had gotten braids) and most of the 5th and 6th grade. Already by the end of 4th grade, my hair had flourished. It was no longer thin and brittle to the touch. My hair was thicker and grew a lot in the past few months. I never thought that if I cared for my hair, it would grow so much in such little time. During my 5th grade year, my hair in the back did grow faster than the front, so I got the tail cut off. I was back to neck length, but it was so much are full then it was last time I was neck length, so I paid it no attention. My hair continued to grow. I am now about to start 8th grade and my hair past the sleeves on a short sleeve shirt. This might sound like a little, but after all of this my hair has gone through for the last 3-4 years, this is honestly a milestone. Heat can damage some girls' hair, but heat worked wonders for mine. I hope anyone with damaged hair can find help the way I did. Also, the salon is called Kimberly Gore Salon.
Our shrinking is real. People try to say I'm 4 A/B but I really feel I'm a mix of 4 b/c....my hair sits a lil past shoulder length when wet but when flat ironed, to the middle of my back. You went from shrinking to banging& it looks so silky and soft❤💯
There you have it, a news anchor!😂🙌🏾 I love the music, the super positive vibes, the comical moments! As a guy getting in touch with his natural side of taking better care of his 4c hair and embracing the real roots, it’s very reliving to see a queen of the same hair type and can actually relate ! It’s hard for me to find actual people with my type of hair to actually learn to care for it in any type of way! Too many click bates! Keep growing and embracing your roots queen, you’re glowing !! *subscribed*
I’m excited to try this method of silk press today! Everytime I’ve straightened my natural hair it always ends up a mess. But combing through it and using that brush may be my savior. I love how calm and fun your voice is and the rest of your videos are great too
Thank you for this video. My hair is at about armpit length when stretched, also 4c, but I’ve been going through severe depression and neglecting it so much that there’s so many single stranded knots and it’s so damaged and dry and matted that I think my only option is to chop most of it off and start with maybe 3 inches or so...hoping it’ll be at least 6 healthy inches by the end of the year...been really afraid to go through with it though so videos like yours have been helpful in showing me that very short hair can still be beautiful and feminine and versatile.
You know setting and pin curling also helps in maintaining the look as well if you’re talking about keeping it and extending the style so that you don’t always have to run an iron through it all the time. Also covering it with bonnets when you shower or bathe also helps too.
Your blow dry and press routine is great!!! Love the fluff and bounce 🥰🥰unfortunately me not knowing how to press or curl my hair is one of the reasons why I grew my locs but your hair gives me life 🙌🏾🙌🏾😍😍
Omg first person on yt to actually have my exact hair type! Length and all! I was seriously running out of hope. Finally I can watch something and actually visualize my hair looking how it did on the video realistically😩
I’m so happy I found someone with similar hair as me. My hair is indeed 4C but also with looser hair texture at the back, sides of my head and the front 🤧.
Finally a representation of EXACTLY what my hair looks like. I’m subscribing, I need help lol Also, you can buy stockings and cut a part of the leg off and use that for wrapping. In South Africa it’s called a swirl kous, which is basically wrapping your hair to maintain the straightness and style.
wow!!!! What patience you had to create this hairstyle!! But they look great on you!!! You have so much hair!! and a pretty face!! You did a great job!!
I love your hair! And I always love your flatiron videos. I remember when your hair was like blue-grey it was such a cute look you looked like a fairy ♥️🥰
This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone with the same texture hair as me! Down the the looser texture in the back. I’m like super excited to watch this video 😂😂😂 thank you for this ❤️
I thought I was the only one with multi textured hair 😭😂 so glad there’s more of us we have the exact same thing I have looser curls in the back and the rest is much tighter but I can never straighten my hair on my own it never works out
I’m 12 and my mom literally left me to do my own hair and I honestly hate doing my hair because it’s so annoying but I always try to take care of it, but everytime I straighten it it always comes out stuff-
I agree. My hair is and always was course. And my mom would do perms or, excuse me lol, relaxers ....HERSELF 😪 I would have literally scabs on my scalp from it burning and staying on too long. My hair would just plateau all the time at a certain length at my shoulders. But when I went off to college I cut it and went natural.
Looks good girl you're hair really gets longer guest what i just bought my flat iron an was scared of burning myself but watching you makes me get s so brave thanks 👍
Super cute turn out. Since its officially silk press season, I recommend investing in the Revair (they offer payment plans if you can not buy outright), it will stretch 4c hair (also my hair type, I use level 7 and heat 2, really is not that hot) within about 30 minutes whole head is complete, even my edges are stretched (sectioning it of course). Then you are ready to apply heat protectant and flat iron. I trim as I flat iron each piece (only do once every 3 months) so it takes me a little longer, but all around leaves my hair silky and smooth and healthy and continuing to grow. Also applause for wrapping your hair afterwards, I forget to do mine and just end up throwing on a satin lined cap. Enjoy your hair journey
Omggggg this gives me hope. I haven’t worn my natural hair straight EVER !!!!!!!!!! But We both have 4c hair so I’m so hype right now. And i know for a facttttttt ima burn myself straightening the back 😩😩😩😂😂😂😂
My my hair has the most beautiful curls at the back of my head. I think that’s bc ithe least damaged. The front of my head gets the most manipulation and least amount of protection 😓

She has really beautiful hair😍 I didnt think she was going to be able to get through it at first because her hair is super thick, but it worked out well! Beautiful job!😍 She looks like the girl on the Dark and Lovely box😍
What temp do you guys set your straightener to? I know she said 410. My hair gets frizzy the next day when I straighten it at 400. I tried 450 (the max setting) recently and it finally came out like a silk press and stayed that way for a week (could have stayed longer but I have to wash weekly for scalp reasons). Just wondering if that’s crazy high. I’m going to try to remember to go down to 425 whenever I end up straightening my hair again to see if I can get away with a lower temp
I low key can’t stand having multiple hair textures lmao. Like, my front section is 4C, while my back and middle are like 4a/4b. I might straighten my hair this fall too. I haven’t seen my “full potential” length in YEARS
Omg you're sooo cute!!!! My sister is a hairstylist that did my hair all of ONCE! Now that my hair has grown just a little longer (cuz i usually keep it buzz cut short. I wanna try my hair on my own! So i've been looking at 4c hair straightening videos for inspo. I loved this!!!
