Love seeing the details and your voiceover. As a white makeup artist my own personal hair could not be any more different, so I love to learn and observe these methods so I can service everyone who sits in my chair. Girls are pleasantly surprised when I can do their hair and lay their edges.
As a white woman, I want to say we need to hype up black women's hair way more then we do in today's society. We see so much hype for gender and body acceptance. But we forget other things too. I dont have anything against women who wear weaves or wigs. But personally I think black women's hair is very VERY beautiful natrually. Its disgusting to see some places ban afros or braids. For me it looks way more beautiful and professional then wigs and weaves. And Im not saying wigs and weaves are ugly. I just personally, think is way more beautiful to see a woman with their natural beauty. Update: this forum took a weird turn. My comment just stems from my heart, growing up in a black community I was able to have a different perspective in society. My views came from how I saw girls being bullied growing up, or even in public and at a work place hearing dirty comments here and there. This comment was just me expressing how I felt especially since this channel has put out in the past how young girls were bullied for their hair. I thought this would have been a safe place for me to express my feelings towards situations that I saw on day to day bases around the community I grew up. For those who try to twist my words, please understand that this topic is very important to me due to how much hurt I have seen with people who were close to me due to this. Im not following a trend or trying to shame anyone. And for those who do not understand or live in their own happy bubble. Please look into these videos and understand how important it is for society to make everyone feel loved about who they are. Every little girl and boy deserves to feel beautiful, because everyone has their own beauty. It should not depend on race or anything els. And teaching young children to accept others who are different brings a more understanding community with less pain and racism towards one another. That goes for everything not just looks. Noone should be ashamed for who they are. And sadly I have met people who were. ruclips.net/video/YxG6S78X6SE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/a7sX1cn5aO4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4JU92bB1A5Q/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fFgQLb5Bjjw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/5DxfdANEv04/видео.html ruclips.net/video/x-hshirfRi4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/uGaCNXoZ0Bs/видео.html

African hair is currently celebrated everywhere, idk where do you live but i see a lot of that hair in the media and in the streets. Makes me wonder why white women don't do the same and celebrate what they have. We see them everywhere with dead bleached hair, bored to do anything with it. I miss white women who had big 70s hair.
@@Nausithoe88 in the UK I have heard of many schools which have basically banned natural afro hair (it is too big/a distraction apparently, and sometimes it gets banned when it isn't even that much hair) and thicker braids (they certainly don't understand that smaller braids take so much longer to do) and I think it is ridiculous that white girls can still have big curly hair while black girls with afro hair cannot

elo_ elo56 Wow. My hair freaking looks like that after I wash it. My natural hair color is off black. Sorry some of us 4c hair women don’t have naturally jet black hair. 🙄
The tighter your curl, the gentler you need to be. If the hair stylist doesn't understand this, they don't know how to do your hair. Run, because they will be breaking and damaging it. This hairstylist showed it well. 👌 And yes, all hair is "good hair"

this question is unrelated to this video, but i’m asking because i am truly wanting to learn. do you prefer being called mexican or brown? and for the other people in this section, what do you prefer being called? i ask because lots of asians do not prefer being called yellow, but lots of black and white people like or prefer being called by their colors instead of african-american or caucasian. lots of hispanics, persians, etc like being called by their ethnicity but not by brown, but some do. what are all of you and what do you prefer to be called? what is the least offensive way to describe a person when trying to describe their ethnic background, etc? thank you.
@@fjp9 I can see this is with good intent... maybe? Asian ppl aren’t yellow so why would they be called yellow? Black ppl like to be called black. White people white. Asian people are also Indian not just Chinese and Korean
@@kaledoublescope i agree with some of the things you have said. but lots of asian people like chinese, korean, and japanese are considered to be yellow as far as the color spectrum of identification part. i forgot to ask about indians, thais, etc here, and i don’t know what they prefer. but i’d like to learn because i don’t want to offend anybody. and if you don’t think asians (chinese, koreans, japanese etc) are yellow, do you think they should be referred to as white then? or what or how do you think they should be referred to in concern with the color spectrum? as far as the color spectrum of people go i think lots of them are considered yellow versus white just because of labeling, and i don’t think any asian would refer to themselves as a white person unless literally calling themselves pale or white skinned versus caucasian.

2freeIvX cuz it’s not good to keep putting heat to your hair. Straightening hair in general probes your hair to damage cuz it breaks the curls. Over time with use your hair shortens and shortens. It loses value.
2freeIvX Yea ironing your hair is better than relaxing it with chemicals. But still straightening your coils/curls is not good practice because it still damages the curls. It’s good to straighten your hair once in a while but long term use will cause problems to your hair. That’s why (as the OP is asking ) straightening isn’t as suggested as it could have been.
I am calling you the hair healer. I have watch you resurrect the hair. Thank you for all of the care and detail You share. I hope other stylists and fledgling stylist are taking note for: 1. Combing tangles starting at the ends 2. Using wide tooth combs 3. Using the paddle brush 4. Not going over the hair section more than once ( to avoid damage and altering the curl pattern) I am not a stylist but I have seen stylist who have done the opposite of what you shared. I'm a black male. Been learning about hair for a while as I want my hair to look nicer, and if I have any children, they can take pride in their hair too. I am very happy to find this video. :)
I keep coming back to this video. The client's hair is so pretty whether in its natural curl pattern or silk-pressed straight. It's clear you also know how to baby a person's hair, no matter the length, texture, and state.
As a white nurse, I was so glad to see this! We will (if we have time) wash people's hair - but I am was always unsure how to help those with very curly hair. This has shown me that we need to keep the scalp and hair healthy, so when the patient gets out of the hospital - they can get back to styling their hair. It would also be nice if we could recruit a family member to gently comb their hair. We all feel better, when we look better. I've watched 2 of your videos, and you are so gentle and caring!
I’m a white girl with thick long curly red hair. I’ve learned so much from your videos! You are amazing. Thank for posting. I’m always excited when you have a new video! Xoxo
I'm Irish and don't know many black people so this "good hair" conversation is brand new to me, and seems so sad that black people have been taught your hair isn't "good" because it's tight and curly and needs a bit more moisture added? Awful. I think natural afro hair is breathtaking. It's so bouncy and full and big! It's lovely. And you can do so much with it! All these intricate braided styles and twists and locs, there's so much variety and scope for creativity. If anything, bad hair is the fine straight hair white people have. Mine's wavy but even so, I can't get any volume into it and updos don't stay cuz it's so fine. Ye all have beautiful great hair and I'm very sorry you've not lived in a society that told you that.
Rose I would say that good hair is healthy well taken care of hair. No hair is going to be good if it’s damaged, poorly colored, poorly cut, and/or full of split ends wether it’s 1c, 2c, 3c, or 4c or anything in between.
Well I love my hair. I have waist length 4 type hair and I’m planning to grow it to my butt. Trust me, I think it’s sad how many stupid ideas have formed around 4 type hair.
I'm Argentinian of Irish heritage, my hair is red, extremely thick and wavy. I've always hated my hair but now that I've turned 40 I have accepted it. We don't have many black women here, except for some Brazilians and Dominicans, and I really love their natural curls. It's so lovely!
Ugh I ask for an inch at TOP and she cuts about 4 inches off! Not lying! Every SINGLE TIME. I don’t go to the hairdressers any more. She cuts off so much I literally cried lol

I LOVE to watch your videos, you just VIBRATE with love, I learn so much, and your compassion is infectious! :D Your hair looks FANTASTIC today, as well!! 💞
Thank you for telling people to stop saying "good" hair. This implies that the hair of black or African people is bad. I have done the hair of many people and taught them that their hair grows and is beautiful if THEY know what THEY are doing. And your hair is beautiful when you treat your hair the way it wants to be treated. I tend to keep people's hair natural, and they are amazed that their hair grows fast and long and they can have nice styles without treating their hair like it is european hair. I wish more stylist would do that, as I am not a stylist.
I was going to leave a very similar reply! Besides, not all white hair would necessarily be considered "good". I am white, but think that natural hair is beautiful on a black person.
I have 2a hair. Not enough curl to do anything with and curly enough to make it look like I just rolled out of bed. No volume unless its short and it WONT hold curl. I've even tried a perm. I would consider my hair "bad" hair.
I have a natural 1 curl pattern but I have two brothers who are 3c. I really think there’s a gap in the market for hair products and procedures for people with the higher curl patterns.
I'm a white girl with basic wavy hair but this showed in my recommended vids and it was so satisfying to watch. Beautiful hair both before and after but seeing such a transformation is so amazing and interesting!

4C is good hair. Too often it is represented by people with short, damaged, broken hair. As soon as you see 4C on someone with short or long healthy hair we recognize just how lucky we are to have such a rich texture.❤ Healthy hair is great hair💜
Thanks for this video, lots of people handle their hair so rough and aggressive, thinking because our curls are tight they have to use muscles and manhandle them. Our hair is in fact very fragile. You are one of the rare RUclipsr who show how it should be, so thank you.
"as long as your hair is healthy, your hair is good" Girl preach!!! I was walking with my best friend and there's another girl in my school (she's super sweet with 4a hair I think) and she was rocking her natural curls just as me that day. We walked past each other, complimenting each other after that he (my best friend) says: "girl, she has pretty hair, but you have better hair" (I have 3b hair) I was like "we both have pretty hair, there's not such thing as good hair, every hair is good, god damn"
Her hair looked beautiful as the curly head baby she is and that silk press was beautiful. Her hair is strong and healthy. I absolutely loved this. Yay
I feel like African Americans are really good at taking care of their hair, here in Kenya the hairdressers just wanna rip your head off! EDIT: "OMG! I didn't expect this to be so relatable, thanks for the likes guys."
Thank you, for all you do, with the good work of your hands. I've always favored your channel over others, ever since I first saw a video, of yours, where a little girl had been bullied, and the girls cut a plug out the back of her hair. But you transformed her hair so beautifully, it put the biggest smile, on her face, probably her first time smiling like that. She was so happy. I really, really loved that, because I had shedded some tears, for what she had gone through. But it's not just the good works you do with your hands, it's your voice. I rarely look at ppl faces, but listen to their voice. Because out of the mouth you can tell the heart, of ppl. And your voice has sincerity and honesty, with care added in, and your tone is soothing. In this world where most of what you hear is nagging, gossiping, backbiting, I find it comforting just to watch your video. You do excellent work. Don't ever let the world conform, or change you. You are on a good road. Just hold the rein steady. Take care✌🏽❤🙏🏻

Tori Kelly fan I mean black girls can straighten their hair all they want to, but a white girl will never be able to get 4c hair. If it's out there, I definitely haven't seen it.
I always wished I have 4c hair! I have 3c curls and I thought it was hard to detangle until I saw people with this hair. But all that detangling seems worth it. It looks gorgeous!
Ardrena Desmond I know 4c hair varies but it doesn’t vary as widely as many think but a lot of the beauty community has gotten to a point where they label all type 4 hair as 4c and it’s making it harder to differentiate when looking for hair tips and tricks so it’s nice to see an actual 4c girl with low porosity rather than a 4b girl
That's are real Sistah! Dark Skin real 4 c hair. I'm laughing because when I was a kid if you were a girl with hair like that and dark skin and features like that , you would have never gotten a date. My how times have changed. I had a friend that looked like that back when I was a teenager and I remember that my Grandmother chased her out the house because she thought that this girl liked me. My Grandmother called her a nappy headed dark black bitch and for her not to bring her black ass over her house again and stay her ass away from my Grandson. That girl started to cry it was sad!
Can we just talk about her skin tone?! It looks so magnificent and stunning. Edit: some people think I'm racist because I complemented her. All colors are associated with something Black as sad Red as angry or love White as clean .... I associated her skin color as magnificent. Also saying I can't compliment her because all skintones are beautiful (which is not wrong) is like saying we can't say someone is beautiful because all people are beautiful.
@Remo Gatron you do seem very pressed. they complimented her and you’re mad. i would understand if it were an insult but it wasn’t. that says a lot about you. 😬 have a good day tho. i hope you find happiness in something other than being mad at a compliment 🤣
I don't think straightening protects the ends, but it helps with breakage bc its easier to de-tangle when its straight. But with the right products, you can still keep your curls healthy without constantly straightening it.
Gorgeous hair before and after. I mean, how amazing is it to be able to have the bestest, tightest curls and ALSO the most beautiful, shiny straight hair? It’s that black girl magic. ✨✨
@red x17 even getting a perm will not give you hair like ours. The change in hair type is just not possible. Sure it'll be curly and thicker feeling, but it won't be coily like predominantly african hair.
Y'know with 4c hair, as a kid, I always wished to have it completely straight (never got it). Seeing this, it opened my eyes that with 4c hair you can still get the same flow and then get your curls back which is fascinating. Cool how we can have multiple different hair types.
Believe me your beautiful 4c -z curls go nowhere. They will be back with luxurious. Bounce and shrinkage. Keep it moisturized and it will be super healthy and grow to whatever length you like.

@@Nausithoe88 in the UK I have heard of many schools which have basically banned natural afro hair (it is too big/a distraction apparently, and sometimes it gets banned when it isn't even that much hair) and thicker braids (they certainly don't understand that smaller braids take so much longer to do) and I think it is ridiculous that white girls can still have big curly hair while black girls with afro hair cannot

this question is unrelated to this video, but i’m asking because i am truly wanting to learn. do you prefer being called mexican or brown? and for the other people in this section, what do you prefer being called? i ask because lots of asians do not prefer being called yellow, but lots of black and white people like or prefer being called by their colors instead of african-american or caucasian. lots of hispanics, persians, etc like being called by their ethnicity but not by brown, but some do. what are all of you and what do you prefer to be called? what is the least offensive way to describe a person when trying to describe their ethnic background, etc?

I’ve never seen hair look healthier after intense heat and straightening!
Thank you for all of the care and detail
You share. I hope other stylists and fledgling stylist are taking note for:

2. Using wide tooth combs
3. Using the paddle brush
4. Not going over the hair section more than once ( to avoid damage and altering the curl pattern)

As a white nurse, I was so glad to see this! We will (if we have time) wash people's hair - but I am was always unsure how to help those with very curly hair. This has shown me that we need to keep the scalp and hair healthy, so when the patient gets out of the hospital - they can get back to styling their hair.

EDIT: "OMG! I didn't expect this to be so relatable, thanks for the likes guys."
hehehe.....soo true.
In every african country
And also in France cause there is only african hairdresser for our hair 😭 even in Paris
May Jesus help, i no longer go to salons for washing my hair and straightening i do it myself. Kenyan salons want to rip and fry your hair😏😏😏

Q. What is good hair? A. Hair that is on your head and not the floor. ❤️Beautiful job! Beautiful hair before and after.❤️
Good hair is hair without hair fall
And straight hair with shine
@@elo_elo5674 No need to be straight to be good :)
@@adventuretime0908 I think u misinterpreted. I think they meant that straight hair with shine is healthy , not that all healthy hair is straight :)
@C. Callie Coleman I so agree with you. I have been here 3 times already not realizing that I'd already seen this video. Never bothered to read the comments till today .. we ALL have been effected by this amazing soul in some way .. mostly all the same. She is unique in her craft!! Just wanted to make note of that! I have 4a hair and I just want to thank you for making so many black women feel beautiful and doing their hair with love and care. I’ve heard of many stylists that say they don’t accept 4c hair so thank you for helping my 4c sisters!! 💞
WHERE do live that a hairstylist would actually say that?! Why won't they not accept someone with 4c hair?!

I swear I am African and I am now addicted to African American hair saloon. No more relaxer. I braid flat iron have them natural and zero weaves I hate weaves. Black is beautiful. Never felt so pretty since I have my natural hair back. Love you African American sisters.
Awwww we love you toooooo 💗💗💗💗💗
@Cammy Dunn cut the nonsense i'm descendent from africans forcefully brought to south america to serve as slaves. don't rewrite history.

STUNNING. I am dumbfounded. You really did that. Wow … just speechless. Gorgeous work all around, and I'm even more happy to hear that her curl pattern will return. Thank you so much for this video. You've earned yourself a new subscriber.
“All hair is good hair”
Me staring at my mirror with a broken comb😁
🤣🤣🤣 I knew that I wasn’t the only one lol
Glad I'm not alone struggles lol🤣
Honey I get you 😫 it took me so long to figure out I was using the wrong kind of comb. Now I only use straight, thin-toothed combs when my hair is straightened
You got good AND strong hair! 😊
Your hair is good❤️ (maybe not manageable) but that doesn’t matter
This is why natural hair is so beautiful. You can do so many styles with it ❤
like making it look like other textures?
no nameu You can make a black woman's hair look like a white woman, but tell me when you've seen a white woman's hair look like a black woman's?
+Gerard Wayee um when Some (notice in saying some) whites girls want to wear cornrows and call them "Boxer braids/Kim K braids"
Tori Kelly fan I mean black girls can straighten their hair all they want to, but a white girl will never be able to get 4c hair. If it's out there, I definitely haven't seen it.
Gerard Wayee umm.. white people are literally not the only people with straight hair....
As a black woman..I truly love my 4c afro...beautifully and wonderfully made! Thank you Lord❤
Yess as you should
Amen
As a white woman, I love them too!
God bless you!
God blesses us with all of our different features!
I always wished I have 4c hair!
I have 3c curls and I thought it was hard to detangle until I saw people with this hair.
But all that detangling seems worth it. It looks gorgeous!
Her Hair Is Absolutely Gorgeously Beautiful! ♥️✨💜✨♥️✨💜✨♥️
Can we talk about how beautiful the hairdresser is like aksyshusjwhah😍😍😍
Finally a video with 4c in the title with a client who is actually 4c👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Maya Larbi 4c hair varies a lot tho . I have 4c hair but it looks nothing like this
Ardrena Desmond I know 4c hair varies but it doesn’t vary as widely as many think but a lot of the beauty community has gotten to a point where they label all type 4 hair as 4c and it’s making it harder to differentiate when looking for hair tips and tricks so it’s nice to see an actual 4c girl with low porosity rather than a 4b girl
What is silk press
That's are real Sistah! Dark Skin real 4 c hair. I'm laughing because when I was a kid if you were a girl with hair like that and dark skin and features like that , you would have never gotten a date. My how times have changed. I had a friend that looked like that back when I was a teenager and I remember that my Grandmother chased her out the house because she thought that this girl liked me. My Grandmother called her a nappy headed dark black bitch and for her not to bring her black ass over her house again and stay her ass away from my Grandson. That girl started to cry it was sad!
@@ronwilliams717 Oh wow... That sounds terrible. Smh
Can we just talk about her skin tone?! It looks so magnificent and stunning.
Edit: some people think I'm racist because I complemented her. All colors are associated with something
Black as sad
Red as angry or love
White as clean
....
I associated her skin color as magnificent.
Also saying I can't compliment her because all skintones are beautiful (which is not wrong) is like saying we can't say someone is beautiful because all people are beautiful.
@Remo Gatron yes
@Remo Gatron wdym she is beautiful
No because this video is about her hair...
@Remo Gatron you do seem very pressed. they complimented her and you’re mad. i would understand if it were an insult but it wasn’t. that says a lot about you. 😬 have a good day tho. i hope you find happiness in something other than being mad at a compliment 🤣
Who?
This young lady has a full head of hair. 😍 I think straightening protects the ends, thus keeping her length over time. I love this!
SAY IT AGAIN GIRL
BLACK GIRL MAGIC
what???
YESSIRRRR ✨💖🧚🏾
@red x17 even getting a perm will not give you hair like ours. The change in hair type is just not possible. Sure it'll be curly and thicker feeling, but it won't be coily like predominantly african hair.
You need to show some Jamaican hairdressers how to care for other people's hair when they blow dry and comb🙄 they're so damn rough...😒
Dwl, you jamaican?
@@shaniquewalker5562 Indeed. Speaking from experience 😫
Like seh a one dolly weh nah nuh feelings
No joke about it kmt
A me fi tell yo.
@@herjoy2 Thanks for the tips!
I have straight hair, but I have always wanted it curly or wavy, straight hair is very boring
@@saraelizabethsare2348 I also was tired of my hair and felt like I couldn't do anything with my hair as well at some point. I didn't realize how many people actually would want curly hair.
@@kristinac3983 Pasty white girl here, I always wanted curly hair. My straight hair just refused.
I also always wanted those thick, cool braids black girls have, and despite having long hair, could never get them.
I loveeee the effect of going in with a lower temp of 280. The feather look is amazing!!
Then the technique you used with Saran Wrap was also amazing. It looks so light and fluffy. Amazing job!!!
