So amazing. I suffered from heat damage and have been doing the work to get my curls back. Now that they are back I was scared to flat iron. I will try this!
Lady thank you so much! I’m so glad I came across your post on IG. My biggest problem is keeping my silk press from frizzing up. I’m going to try it your way! And your silk press came out salon worthy! Beautiful!
Ohhhhh!!! I’m jumping up because I saw that you used the steamer I used. It was the 2 in 1, but my hood broke in transition moving from Germany back to the states. I wondered if using it with the lil wand was sufficient. THANK YOU!! Also, your hair looks amazing 😍
@@playacabo6289while working out wrap your hair tightly. Work out per usual. Just don’t unwrap your hair until your body and scalp are fully dry and your hair will dry straight. Please try and lmk!
That’s you don’t know when silk press season is. Silk press season is during fall and winter. So late November through February maybe early March is the best time to do a silk press.
Have you thought about incorporating bond treatments into your routine? It is very effective in preventing heat damage, olaplex has a good one. By the way, your curls look so healthy, well done
My same foundational process only I sometimes use a leave in & use the Kenra blow dry spray and CHI serum instead. Lightly finishing with the Kenra finishing spray. It works for well but now my hair is long and I can’t chase the back well. Smh
Question: When and why did flat ironing or hair straightening become Silk Press? Is it a new term in cosmetology school, just wondering who defined it.
My hair type doesn’t allow me to have this type of hair and I tried so many videos trying to get it boneless and I’m even trying to get into heat but because I live in Arizona it’s super hot so my hair frizz back up😢😢😢😢. And I do my hair routine similar to yours so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong for mine to frizz back up or be really puffy
You can use peroxide to get rid of the bleach stains on the counter. If that is what it is now if it’s somehow turmeric? 🤷🏽♀️ thanks for this tutorial I want to try this!
Your end result was 🔥❤ You made this look too easy like I can actually achieve getting my hair looking like yours by the end! 😂 I will be getting the hair steamer though to hopefully get my hair more moisturized in general so appreciate the tip! Great video! 😊
How long does your press last .. I'm going to attempt to do mine in the middle of summer in South Florida where the feels like temperatures 106° everyday with the actual temperature being 95 with the humidity of a thousand😅
Her silk press routine:
00:24 - step 1: Clarifying shampoo
00:57 - step 2: Moisturising shampoo
1:30 - step 3: Deep conditioning (Nourishing Hair Mask) + steamer
2:57 - step 4: Leave-In conditioner (Silk Express Tropical Mist, Leave-in Spray)
3:12 - Step 5: Heat protectant (Wow Factor)
3:24 - Step 6: Serum (Olapex N°9, Nourishing Hair Serum, Bond Protector)
3:38 - Step 7: Blow dry damp hair
4:12 - Step 8: Flat iron hair
6:16 - Step 9: Silkening Serum (Platinum Gloss) followed by more flat ironing and ends bumping.
Thick and healthy hair, I love it.
Agreed 😌
It’s the bumped ends for me! 💗
Back to the 90's😂😂... my 10 year Olds hairs is 3 times longer than this chick's.. lmao..😂😂

It came out so good!!! I'm going to attempt to press my own hair because my stylist increased her price to $195 for a silk press 😩
For $195, I need it to stay straight all year! 😮💨
@3Dani. ...and we're in South FL, so that definitely isn't happening 😩
Inflation is hitting everyone unfortunately.
Use that $195 and buy the entire cecred line and follow this video. 😂
That’s way too much. You got this girl
I just watched this entire video even though i just have loose curls......
Your hair simply looks so amazing before and after straightening!
Looks salon worthy. Only you did it yourself. Looks amazing!!
So amazing. I suffered from heat damage and have been doing the work to get my curls back. Now that they are back I was scared to flat iron. I will try this!
Were you using quality leave ins and heat protectants?
Also invest in a great quality ceramic flat iron and be mindful of the temperature

How often do you straighten your hair?
Good question
Yes

Never thought of using leave-in before heat protector. Sounds interesting! 😊
I love it! The second I step outside, by hair frizzes up. Texas humidity.

Well done! Are you able to maintain the style after working out? Any issues with your hair getting damp?
My roots get damp but I‘m able to maintain the style. I can always do a separate video on how I maintain it while working out ☺️
@@lynnswayxx That would be great!
@lynnswayxx that would be super helpful cause that's why I don't straighten often as I want 😅

Beautiful job! How often do you straighten your hair?
Yes I Don't understand why we have to pay so much when we go to the stylist. Definitely consider doing it at home. Great results.
