Couldn't agree more. Got my first Epi 12 years ago because I couldn't afford Gibson. But since then I've accumulated 6 of them, including 3 previous generation Prophecies, and I have to say I love the brand. Never been let down by them.

All the guitar snobs turn up their noses, won't look at the build quality, won't look at the components and will bitch about how without the nitrocelulous lacquer the tone is being muffled lol. As a result I got my flawless demo dirt cheap. I have alot of really nice guitars that are not cheap. For playability and sound this can definitely hang. Not as beautiful as a Zemaitis, or Dean Zelinsky Paisley, but still a great looking, great playing and sounding guitar.

I should probably say that if you play serious Metal this would do just fine, but for Classis Rock...I ain't thrilled. I have one of Epi's '59 Les Paul Standards coming Sunday according to FedEx. I probably should have done that in the first place. The Prophecy Flying-V is a beautiful guitar, it just doesn't do what I need a guitar to do.

Its sooo close to perfect. Why cant epiphone put the strap button on the heel?? I can do it myself but its the principle. My old gibson faded v had perfect balance due to that.
I have the heel mod on my '58 Epi V. I just put a gold Iron Cross Strap button on the original location. I wouldn't worry about value on these. My Firebird Les Paul inspired Custom shop has it in the shitty shoulder location. My back actually hurts because of that location when I play that one. My FB VII is heavier and I can play that all day. edit: This rant inspired me to rant directly to Gibson like an old crotchety dude shaking his fists at the world.
How do you know that it was due to that??? Did you ever try moving it to the other location on your Gibson to see if it causes neck dive??? I'll bet not!!! You'd have to put the strap button on the neck at about the 15th fret to stop the neck dive on these fuckers!!!
@@CL8ON6 As Dagan said in the video of the Gibson SG Standard, use a reliable strap when you play them. He (and I) will not have them spoken badly about.
I like this V and it’s probably gonna be my next axe. The only thing I would change is the pick ups they sound a little cold and thin. Put super distortions in that shit with is a set of Goto 510 locking tuners and a stainless steel nut . Just like my Gibson flying V that sounds and plays freaking awesome…… keep on rockin….
Big difference in a "Maple Top" and a "Laminate Top".. l do not have a V but absolutely think they are the coolest looking guitar made.. at the expense of being the absolute WORST to sit and play, its a stand only guitar in my book and likely why l have not bought one up to now, l do not have an Explorer either which l have also wanted. Now that the Prophecy line makes what appears to be a nice version of either it will be tough to decide, l am leaning towards the V in Black. However it will take a test run at GC to decide.. hopefully they will get them in soon. Thank you!
Awesome guitar. I will have one soon. Just like the last few Epi's I bought. Unobtanium. They have changed the buying model. Good luck getting one from "traditional" dealers. You'll likely have to buy direct. Not a bad thing. It's just luck of the draw. I kind of like the way they're going here. More profit for them, better guitars for us.
It took Zzounds a few weeks to restock when I was ordering mine but it only took 3-4 weeks to get here. I took that as a good sign that these axes are a solid purchase. Well, they are!!!
@@bastardseaman188 meaning that if you wear a guitar strap and dont hold the neck with your left hand, the guitar will slide on your left shoulder and drop down to the left towards your feet. in other words, the guitar is unbalanced. A balanced guitar shouldn't move at all when you wear a guitar strap. Notice how in the video he always has to hold the neck with his left hand
I've got the 58 flying v reissue it does have some neck dive but to fix it all I did was put the bottom part of my strap over the guitars wing instead of under and now my axe stays in place try it out
Ok I saw the Led Paul 2020 Prophecy now the flying V.Pickups suck first thing I'd change and put Gibson pickups in it and it will sound way better like it should.

You get used to Flying Vs between your legs. Hold it right and it won't move!
Shame it isn't a satin neck otherwise I'd buy one. Gloss necks seem to get quite sticky and make it slow to move the thumb.
