Hi Sean, long time watcher here, we put you on this (well deserved) pedestal it makes sense that you’d have an at home cinema as i can imagine going to a public one would be less relaxing than the average cinema goer due to the level of recognisability. Please do not feel ashamed of what you have accomplished and chosen to spend your money and time on, but also do not feel pressured into sharing every aspect of your home as you deserve privacy. You have worked very hard to get where you are, and have had hellacious mental health due to the line of work that you do. RUclips is not easy, the money that you have earned from it, and the other paths that it opened to you, is yours to do with as you wish. Work hard, play hard. Your showing the cinema room could give others an idea of what they may want to strive for. Just because someone has a Lambo, and you see them drive it, does not make them better than anyone else. Their character does. If it is a place that you find solace and comfort, and want to keep it to yourself that is okay. Telling us about it, and we know how you love audio. Hey Jack! I'm in the middle of reading Return of the King after loving the movies for years but never reading the books. The movies came out before I was really ready to jump into books like that, so I experienced the story through the movies first like many people now. But holy crap, the books are like seeing the story with new eyes. It's like the experience I've always dreamed of with Dark Souls or Bloodborne: being able to experience a story for the first time all over again. The extra stuff with Faramir is incredible, Sam is so much deeper and The Ring stands as its own unseen character. The books start to change so much, it's this incredible experience where you are kept guessing even though we all know where the story goes. Anyway, sorry for the long comment! Highly recommend reading the books, its so worth it. You're the best, thanks for sharing so much with your community over the years!

I got gifted the LOTR trilogy for my 18th birthday but only read it 6 years later when I felt truly ready. Took me 1 year to complete, I wasn't rushing, read lots while seated in my garden and it was the best thing ever, felt like I could connect with the story more and understand it better because of my age and because of the nature surrounding me. I highly recommend reading LOTR whenever you feel ready, it's truly a masterpiece and an amazing, emotional journey. If anyone's worried about all the environment descriptions - they didn't bother me personally cause I allowed myself to let go if I didn't feel like visioning them all, I either took it all in, felt the landscape, the wind and the sensation or just read through without acknowledging it and it's all okay, whatever is best for your mind on the day, it was still beatiful and felt beautiful.
My top 10: 1. Fantastic Mr Fox - I grew up with it and then rediscovered it as a teen and it's what inspired me to go in to studying film 2. Scream - the first classic horror movie that really connected with me when I was getting into horror in college 3. Aftersun - this has very recently joined the list of fave films as it is so recent, but it is so beautiful and i pick up on different details with every watch 4. As You Are - a beautiful coming of age film, that intertwines a thriller (?) subplot within its narrative. 90s set with nirvana (the band) themes 5. Daniel Isn't Real - a crazy cool horror with practical effects, also stars Miles Robbins who plays Dylan in The Quarry 6. A Quiet Place - blew my mind when I saw it for the first time that a film could use such little sound but be so grear, such a cool horror, the ending always makes me cry 7. Us/Get Out - can never pick between these two Jordan Peele film's, he's such an incredible modern day horror director 8. House of Wax (1953) - I would really encourage people to try films from the 40s-60s, especially horror films, seeing talents such as Vicent Price and directors such as William Castle, is so inspiring and amazing to see how horror was devloping over the years and to see what scared audiences at the time. FUN FACT!: William Castle was known to be a very interactive director and would include things such as pauses within films to taunt audiences into beleiving they weren't brave enough to carry on watching his films, as well as having 4D experiences with his film called The Tingler, where chairs would rattle!! 9. Juno - a film that explores teen pregnancy and a whole bunch of important subtle life lessons, this has been a recent discovery for me and has become such a heart felt, warm and fun film, never fails to make me laugh 10. Pride - a beautiful film about a group of queer activists in the 80s supporting the strike of the miners when margaret thatcher was PM, so beautiful and was one of the first gay film i watched and it really struck me. and some honourable mentions - Child's Play, PhoneBooth, Spiderman 2, The Crow (the orginal), Perfect Blue (which Black Swan is ripped off of!) Emporers New Groove, Boy Erased, Wall-e, The Holdovers. I could go on and on and on, I feel so lucky to be able to exist in a world where movies are, and to be able to experience old and new movies and see the improvements being made and also seeing where film began and how developments occured. Personally, I think horror is one of the best genres, it is the genre that can engulf you in fear, antipation, make you feel such vicersal reactions, or laugh at how bad they are. Horror is intertwined in politics, and allows writers and directors to speak their beliefs without saying it in your face. For example, Night of the Living Dead (1968), the first zombie movie made, had a black actor in it and depicted iconogrpahy that resembled the race riots in the 60s in america, and the vietnam war. I could talk forever about movies, but I'll stop now.
Scream is my favourite movie of all time, it’s such a classic. It’s so good that even though it was meant to poke fun at the cliches of slashers and accidentally revived the genre and inspired so many films that came later
My top movies 1. Akira - I love the story, visuals, sound design and obscurity of the whole thing. It's a movie I'll never get tired of. 2. The Thing - Watched it for the first time on my 25th birthday with friends. Love the monsters and how scary it gets. 3. Princess Mononoke - Beautiful story that is so immersive every time I watch it. 4. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - I remember watching it with my 5th grade class for Christmas as a kid. It's stuck with me ever since with being a cozy comfort fantasy movie. 5. Hugo - Not the best movie out there but it has a special place for me. It inspired me so much at a vulnerable time in my life where I felt lost. It's so cozy and ties in a lot of film history. 6. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - I love this movie solely for the creature and world design. It's just amazing and the story is decent as well. 7. Alien - A recent favorite. Adore the vibes and how I still get scared even after viewing it multiple times.

Oh my gosh id love to see a house tour. i love seeing that sort of stuff because i cant ever find any good references for my house when i also have a ton of game statues and decor. i also just watched hot fuzz for the first time yesterday with some friends and i loved it!
The only thing that kind of put me off was the "everybody and their mums" joke. Not that it wasn't funny, it honestly was, it just kind of felt forced the way it was delivered. Still, I absolutely adore the film.
Speaking as someone else who also adored the Lord of the Rings movies dearly before ever reading the books, I gotta say it rocked my WORLD to eventually take the time to read them (as long as you stay with it through a slow start, so worth it). Absolutely profound experience to feel the nuances of the story all written out.

My top 10 but it's only the animated favourites 1. Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension - People might think this is a meme pick but this movie fr changed me and I'm still obsessed with this series to this day, there's actual stakes and the world building is so interesting - seeing what Doof as an actual evil villain, the dimensions - and all the songs are bangers of course, the emotional with arc Phineas and Perry like YES, so many good jokes and callbacks, THE BACKGROUND ART, THE ANIMATION!!! 2. Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse - literally obvious, it's a masterpiece, the second one is grouped with this too it's also amazing 3. The Steven Universe Movie - Steven's arc is SO interesting to me - people hate on him for it but it makes sense for his character so, songs are all bangers again, the animation is just a treat, Spinel is also a great villain I feel - you empathise with her but you also want her defeated - just overall, it's a feel good movie to me 4. Tangled - such a great retelling of Rapunzel and the magic hair is so iconic, banger soundtrack, all the characters are great, Rapunzel and Flynn are everything they're so cute, the lantern scene is so gorgeous, visually great like it's Disney, comfort movie can be cosy 5. Belle - (anime movie oh no) SUCH A COOL RETELLING OF Beauty and the Beast, the story of grief and finding your voice means a lot to me, another gorgeous movie, the choice to have 2D for the real world and 3D for virtual reality is so fun, Belle's design and costuming makes me go crazy so pretty, the soundtrack is so amazing - the songwriting and the lead's voice is so powerful it's just AAAH, the twist in regards to the beast doesn't do it for me - the fallout from it is also kinda confusing and eyebrow raising so the ranking is eh idk 6. Puss and Boots: The Last Wish - people were shocked by how good this one is and I was one of them, gorgeous movie, I LOVE the artstyle, the stylised design is so much better than realism leaning one for Puss, sound design is insane, one of the scariest villains in a PG animated movie and he's so COOL, another villain and he's evil because he's evil and it's GREAT, emotions etc 7. Luca - queer allegory I cried so much when I first watched it, the world is so GORGEOUS, the character designs are so cute, the voice actors were VOICE ACTING like the performance of Luca and Alberto is top tier, the animation is top tier obviously, I ADORE the animation of the scales / transformation to sea monster, cosy comfort movie, just a really sweet film 8. The Little Mermaid (1989) - it's a great such a comfort movie, masterpiece soundtrack of course, 2D Disney magic it's stunning, so many iconic moments, idk what else to say it's just good 9. Lilo and Stitch (2002) - makes me CRY another important series to me, we love found family and a weirdo with weirdo friendship story, it's so pretty and I love the character designs they're so unique, has so much heart to it has good laughs, Lilo autistic girl representation she was so me as a child, Pleakley being my introduction to queerness is iconic 10. Fantastic Mr Fox - Wes Anderson make another animated movie please, I love his camera work it's so TASTY, his style is iconic of course I love how warm the movie is it's cosy, the sets are so detailed as well SO GOOD, recording voicelines in different environments adds so much makes it feel like a real little world, the character models are all great, the wee foxes vaguely activate cute aggression in me, the weird energy of it is charming, good balance of the funny and the serious
I think my top ten would be 1. Phantom of the Opera (2004) The way they filmed that movie, the colors, the costumes and the music was all beautiful and hits hard. 2. Pride and Prejudice (2005) The actors, and music made what might’ve been a stagnant movie, into one of the best romances ever. 3. The Princess Bride. The most quotable movie of all time, comedy gold, great action and romance, it’s got everything. 4. Harry Potter honestly I can’t choose just one. The whole arc of emotion, the movies going from childhood whimsy to much darker serious tones is perfect. One of the best soundtracks of all time. 5. Mamma Mia. Just a really feel good misunderstanding movie. Great music and never fails to make me smile. 6. Alice in Wonderland (2010) I have a Cheshire tattoo on my back from this one. The CGI was flawless, voice acting and acting flawless. And just gorgeous to look at. Plus good soundtrack, saw in theatre’s and wish I could again. 7. VanHelsing (2004) It’s a lil cheesy but I quote this movie all the time, it’s so funny, but it doesn’t take away from the more serious parts. The fighting is great, and I cried at the end. Also love Hugh Jackman as a lead man. 8. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Will always be special in my heart, came out 2003. The story is just really interesting, every character is from a different story, brought together. The monsters were scary, the fighting was cool and I loved the way the characters came together by the end to work as a team. Also plot twists are always fun when done right. 9. Robinhood Men in Tights. Great comedy, hits all the marks, lil romance in there, love it. 10. Sound Of Music. Gorgeous retelling of a true story. Julie Andrews is a treasure to humanity. Amazing music, lovely settings, chemistry between actors, and outsmarting nazis. I know most of them are “girlie” but even my husband has come to love or like all of them. And he’s definitely more action oriented. I also love musicals quite a bit, but I know they aren’t for everyone. 🤷🏻♀️❤️ Anyway, much love Jack. Your picks were great.
I love Sean’s Arrival tattoo! I know he’s had some negative comments about it that make him not enjoy it as much, but I’ll love it forever. I think it’s unique, and being a fan of Arrival, just COOL 💚 if I was into tattoos I’d get one myself

gotta add my own top 10 here 10. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - It's a bizarre pick for a Wes Anderson film, but it just came to my attention at the right time I need it to. 9. Godzilla Minus One - I just loved to see such an emotional retelling of the original with it's own message prominent to a modern audience. 8. Princess Mononoke - Just my favourite Studio Ghibli Film, it can feel a bt long at points, but I think the bigger picture of what it's about really cements my love for it. 7. Dune Part Two - I always leaned more towards fantasy genres, and never could get into sci-fi as much as I tried, but this film was one of the ultimate sci-fi's for me. The themes, the cinematography, etc. 6. Coraline - the VIBES, one of the first thriller films I saw as a pretty young kid, and i think the scares hold up to this day, I won't lie. 5. The Green Knight - not a lot of people love this one, but it just hits the right vibes of a dark arthurian fantasy with just a different way of thinking about morality. 4. Jurassic Park - Dinosaurs and Storytelling 3. The Lighthouse - I am a huge Robert Eggars fan for so many reasons, and this is just one of the most atmospheric and eldritch sea feeling movies I've ever seen. 2. Lord of the Rings Return of the King - Very epic. 1. Everything, Everywhere, All At Once - Made me cry, such an impressive artist project

I am 22 and I have seen all movies of Lord of The Rings about 5 times, they will forever be my favourite movies and trilogy. The characters and story is 11/10❤

As a film studies major I made it my goal to write essays on my two favorite films being Jurassic Park and Jaws. It ended up being the best essays I’ve submitted so far.
My favorite movie is Studio Ghibli’s The Tale of Princess Kaguya. It’s one that not many people have seen but it needs to be more well known! It’s gorgeous and has such a powerful message. It is more somber but it can’t be beat. Other mentions in no particular order -Robots -Calamity Jane (with Doris Day) -Cinderella (2015 Disney) -Cinderella (1997 Rodger’s and Hammerstein) -Spiderwick Chronicles -The Neverending Story -Howl’s Moving Castle I was super surprised to see a Doogle reference in the edit! Such a fever dream of a movie!

7:11 one thing that is more logic in the book is that in the book, Grant figure out that the T-rex's vision is based on movement (cause she doesn't see him when he's not moving), while in the movie, he already knows it, but we don't know how.

Ok so my top 10 will be a mix of nostalgia and like actual good movies. 1. Titanic - Such nostalgia but also it’s just a great film all around. It came out when I was 8 and I wasn’t supposed to see it but I saw it anyway 😅 it kickstarted my obsession with Leo DiCaprio 2. Pulp Fiction - I loooooove Quentin Tarantino and this is his best film imo. 3. Avatar (blue aliens) - James Cameron is one of my favourite directors and the theatre experience was mind blowing. The CGI is still some of the best cgi of all time and the acting is stellar. 4. Kill Bill Part 1 - that fight scene is chefs kiss. 5. The Green Mile- I cry every time I watch it, and I’ve seen it like 30 times. 6. The Lion King - still my favourite Disney film of all time, full of nostalgia. 7. The Princess Bride - I just wove it. 8. The Shawshank Redemption- a classic 9. The Dark Knight - honestly it deserves to be higher but 🤷🏻♀️ 10. Charlie’s angels - please don’t judge me okay 😂 10.

my top 10 (like anyone cares) - Hot fuzz (Edgar Wright is always a win and it's just funny) - The Shawshank Redemption ( Tim Robinson is great and so is Morgan Freeman) - Terminator 2 Judgment Day ( The only sequel where you don't have the watch the original to understand it) - Beetlejuice ( It's just fun, need I say more) - Scream ( Just a fun slasher) - Knives Out ( A Nice Who Done It that for me just has a weird cozy vibe to it) - Spider-Man Into The Spider Verse( I don't know how the same studio that bought you the emoji movie can bring you this masterpiece.) - Die Hard ( Alan Rickman is a great villain and you can't go wrong with a badass Bruce Wills) - The Holdovers ( A nice Christmas movie for all I think) - American Fiction ( watch the movie for the Oscars and was very surprised with how good it is)

I originally wrote this before I got to that part.* *I still think it’s disappointing and pales in comparison to its two predecessors, but he’s certainly entitled to his own opinion.* I’ve been wanting Seán to do some type of Movie Tier List ever since he did one on his Nine Favorite Games! I was late to Hot Fuzz, but I vividly remember when Shaun of The Dead was released in theaters and I love them both! I wonder if Seán was as disappointed in The World’s End as I was. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright are all brilliant so I don’t understand why the infamous Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy capped off on such a sour note. I have the Trilogy on BluRay and I can go back to the first two multiple times, but I’ve only been able to sit through the third film once. I don’t know why I went down this Cornetto rabbit hole. Hell… why not? 💚🤗🤗💚
If you haven't yet, I definetly recommend reading the book that annihilation is based on. Its very different, but it does some really interesting things that the movie doesn't. I didn't like the sequel books as much but the first one is still worth reading imo

Please do not feel ashamed of what you have accomplished and chosen to spend your money and time on, but also do not feel pressured into sharing every aspect of your home as you deserve privacy. Your ability to be humble and real is a reason that a lot of us keep watching. You have worked very hard to get where you are, and have had hellacious mental health due to the line of work that you do. RUclips is not easy, the money that you have earned from it, and the other paths that it opened to you, is yours to do with as you wish. Work hard, play hard. Your showing the cinema room could give others an idea of what they may want to strive for. Just because someone has a Lambo, and you see them drive it, does not make them better than anyone else. Their character does. If it is a place that you find solace and comfort, and want to keep it to yourself that is okay. Telling us about it, and we know how you love audio. Hey Jack! I'm in the middle of reading Return of the King after loving the movies for years but never reading the books. The movies came out before I was really ready to jump into books like that, so I experienced the story through the movies first like many people now. But holy crap, the books are like seeing the story with new eyes. It's like the experience I've always dreamed of with Dark Souls or Bloodborne: being able to experience a story for the first time all over again. The extra stuff with Faramir is incredible, Sam is so much deeper and The Ring stands as its own unseen character. The books start to change so much, it's this incredible experience where you are kept guessing even though we all know where the story goes. Anyway, sorry for the long comment! Highly recommend reading the books, its so worth it. You're the best, thanks for sharing so much with your community over the years!

I got gifted the LOTR trilogy for my 18th birthday but only read it 6 years later when I felt truly ready. Took me 1 year to complete, I wasn't rushing, read lots while seated in my garden and it was the best thing ever, felt like I could connect with the story more and understand it better because of my age and because of the nature surrounding me.
I highly recommend reading LOTR whenever you feel ready, it's truly a masterpiece and an amazing, emotional journey.
If anyone's worried about all the environment descriptions - they didn't bother me personally cause I allowed myself to let go if I didn't feel like visioning them all, I either took it all in, felt the landscape, the wind and the sensation or just read through without acknowledging it and it's all okay, whatever is best for your mind on the day, it was still beatiful and felt beautiful.
I LOVED Fellowship. I made it through Towers. I didn't get past the first few pages of Return.

1. Fantastic Mr Fox - I grew up with it and then rediscovered it as a teen and it's what inspired me to go in to studying film
2. Scream - the first classic horror movie that really connected with me when I was getting into horror in college
3. Aftersun - this has very recently joined the list of fave films as it is so recent, but it is so beautiful and i pick up on different details with every watch
4. As You Are - a beautiful coming of age film, that intertwines a thriller (?) subplot within its narrative. 90s set with nirvana (the band) themes
5. Daniel Isn't Real - a crazy cool horror with practical effects, also stars Miles Robbins who plays Dylan in The Quarry
6. A Quiet Place - blew my mind when I saw it for the first time that a film could use such little sound but be so grear, such a cool horror, the ending always makes me cry
7. Us/Get Out - can never pick between these two Jordan Peele film's, he's such an incredible modern day horror director
8. House of Wax (1953) - I would really encourage people to try films from the 40s-60s, especially horror films, seeing talents such as Vicent Price and directors such as William Castle, is so inspiring and amazing to see how horror was devloping over the years and to see what scared audiences at the time. FUN FACT!: William Castle was known to be a very interactive director and would include things such as pauses within films to taunt audiences into beleiving they weren't brave enough to carry on watching his films, as well as having 4D experiences with his film called The Tingler, where chairs would rattle!!
9. Juno - a film that explores teen pregnancy and a whole bunch of important subtle life lessons, this has been a recent discovery for me and has become such a heart felt, warm and fun film, never fails to make me laugh
10. Pride - a beautiful film about a group of queer activists in the 80s supporting the strike of the miners when margaret thatcher was PM, so beautiful and was one of the first gay film i watched and it really struck me.
and some honourable mentions - Child's Play, PhoneBooth, Spiderman 2, The Crow (the orginal), Perfect Blue (which Black Swan is ripped off of!) Emporers New Groove, Boy Erased, Wall-e, The Holdovers. I could go on and on and on, I feel so lucky to be able to exist in a world where movies are, and to be able to experience old and new movies and see the improvements being made and also seeing where film began and how developments occured. Personally, I think horror is one of the best genres, it is the genre that can engulf you in fear, antipation, make you feel such vicersal reactions, or laugh at how bad they are. Horror is intertwined in politics, and allows writers and directors to speak their beliefs without saying it in your face. For example, Night of the Living Dead (1968), the first zombie movie made, had a black actor in it and depicted iconogrpahy that resembled the race riots in the 60s in america, and the vietnam war. I could talk forever about movies, but I'll stop now.

Scream is my favourite movie of all time, it’s such a classic. It’s so good that even though it was meant to poke fun at the cliches of slashers and accidentally revived the genre and inspired so many films that came later
My top movies
1. Akira - I love the story, visuals, sound design and obscurity of the whole thing. It's a movie I'll never get tired of.
2. The Thing - Watched it for the first time on my 25th birthday with friends. Love the monsters and how scary it gets.
3. Princess Mononoke - Beautiful story that is so immersive every time I watch it.
4. Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - I remember watching it with my 5th grade class for Christmas as a kid. It's stuck with me ever since with being a cozy comfort fantasy movie.
5. Hugo - Not the best movie out there but it has a special place for me. It inspired me so much at a vulnerable time in my life where I felt lost. It's so cozy and ties in a lot of film history.
6. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - I love this movie solely for the creature and world design. It's just amazing and the story is decent as well.
7. Alien - A recent favorite. Adore the vibes and how I still get scared even after viewing it multiple times.

I heard you mention in your Elden ring series that you loved Reign of Fire and that made me so happy
Hot Fuzz is the tightest script in history - i challenge you to find a scene or line of dialogue that doesnt need to be there.
The only thing that kind of put me off was the "everybody and their mums" joke. Not that it wasn't funny, it honestly was, it just kind of felt forced the way it was delivered. Still, I absolutely adore the film.
Speaking as someone else who also adored the Lord of the Rings movies dearly before ever reading the books, I gotta say it rocked my WORLD to eventually take the time to read them (as long as you stay with it through a slow start, so worth it). Absolutely profound experience to feel the nuances of the story all written out.

My top 10 but it's only the animated favourites
1. Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension - People might think this is a meme pick but this movie fr changed me and I'm still obsessed with this series to this day, there's actual stakes and the world building is so interesting - seeing what Doof as an actual evil villain, the dimensions - and all the songs are bangers of course, the emotional with arc Phineas and Perry like YES, so many good jokes and callbacks, THE BACKGROUND ART, THE ANIMATION!!!
2. Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse - literally obvious, it's a masterpiece, the second one is grouped with this too it's also amazing
3. The Steven Universe Movie - Steven's arc is SO interesting to me - people hate on him for it but it makes sense for his character so, songs are all bangers again, the animation is just a treat, Spinel is also a great villain I feel - you empathise with her but you also want her defeated - just overall, it's a feel good movie to me
4. Tangled - such a great retelling of Rapunzel and the magic hair is so iconic, banger soundtrack, all the characters are great, Rapunzel and Flynn are everything they're so cute, the lantern scene is so gorgeous, visually great like it's Disney, comfort movie can be cosy
5. Belle - (anime movie oh no) SUCH A COOL RETELLING OF Beauty and the Beast, the story of grief and finding your voice means a lot to me, another gorgeous movie, the choice to have 2D for the real world and 3D for virtual reality is so fun, Belle's design and costuming makes me go crazy so pretty, the soundtrack is so amazing - the songwriting and the lead's voice is so powerful it's just AAAH, the twist in regards to the beast doesn't do it for me - the fallout from it is also kinda confusing and eyebrow raising so the ranking is eh idk
6. Puss and Boots: The Last Wish - people were shocked by how good this one is and I was one of them, gorgeous movie, I LOVE the artstyle, the stylised design is so much better than realism leaning one for Puss, sound design is insane, one of the scariest villains in a PG animated movie and he's so COOL, another villain and he's evil because he's evil and it's GREAT, emotions etc
7. Luca - queer allegory I cried so much when I first watched it, the world is so GORGEOUS, the character designs are so cute, the voice actors were VOICE ACTING like the performance of Luca and Alberto is top tier, the animation is top tier obviously, I ADORE the animation of the scales / transformation to sea monster, cosy comfort movie, just a really sweet film
8. The Little Mermaid (1989) - it's a great such a comfort movie, masterpiece soundtrack of course, 2D Disney magic it's stunning, so many iconic moments, idk what else to say it's just good
9. Lilo and Stitch (2002) - makes me CRY another important series to me, we love found family and a weirdo with weirdo friendship story, it's so pretty and I love the character designs they're so unique, has so much heart to it has good laughs, Lilo autistic girl representation she was so me as a child, Pleakley being my introduction to queerness is iconic
10. Fantastic Mr Fox - Wes Anderson make another animated movie please, I love his camera work it's so TASTY, his style is iconic of course I love how warm the movie is it's cosy, the sets are so detailed as well SO GOOD, recording voicelines in different environments adds so much makes it feel like a real little world, the character models are all great, the wee foxes vaguely activate cute aggression in me, the weird energy of it is charming, good balance of the funny and the serious
I think my top ten would be
1. Phantom of the Opera (2004) The way they filmed that movie, the colors, the costumes and the music was all beautiful and hits hard.
2. Pride and Prejudice (2005) The actors, and music made what might’ve been a stagnant movie, into one of the best romances ever.
3. The Princess Bride. The most quotable movie of all time, comedy gold, great action and romance, it’s got everything.
4. Harry Potter honestly I can’t choose just one. The whole arc of emotion, the movies going from childhood whimsy to much darker serious tones is perfect. One of the best soundtracks of all time.
5. Mamma Mia. Just a really feel good misunderstanding movie. Great music and never fails to make me smile.
6. Alice in Wonderland (2010) I have a Cheshire tattoo on my back from this one. The CGI was flawless, voice acting and acting flawless. And just gorgeous to look at. Plus good soundtrack, saw in theatre’s and wish I could again.
7. VanHelsing (2004) It’s a lil cheesy but I quote this movie all the time, it’s so funny, but it doesn’t take away from the more serious parts. The fighting is great, and I cried at the end. Also love Hugh Jackman as a lead man.
8. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Will always be special in my heart, came out 2003. The story is just really interesting, every character is from a different story, brought together. The monsters were scary, the fighting was cool and I loved the way the characters came together by the end to work as a team. Also plot twists are always fun when done right.
9. Robinhood Men in Tights. Great comedy, hits all the marks, lil romance in there, love it.
10. Sound Of Music. Gorgeous retelling of a true story. Julie Andrews is a treasure to humanity. Amazing music, lovely settings, chemistry between actors, and outsmarting nazis.
I know most of them are “girlie” but even my husband has come to love or like all of them. And he’s definitely more action oriented. I also love musicals quite a bit, but I know they aren’t for everyone. 🤷🏻♀️❤️ Anyway, much love Jack. Your picks were great.

10. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - It's a bizarre pick for a Wes Anderson film, but it just came to my attention at the right time I need it to.
9. Godzilla Minus One - I just loved to see such an emotional retelling of the original with it's own message prominent to a modern audience.
8. Princess Mononoke - Just my favourite Studio Ghibli Film, it can feel a bt long at points, but I think the bigger picture of what it's about really cements my love for it.
7. Dune Part Two - I always leaned more towards fantasy genres, and never could get into sci-fi as much as I tried, but this film was one of the ultimate sci-fi's for me. The themes, the cinematography, etc.
6. Coraline - the VIBES, one of the first thriller films I saw as a pretty young kid, and i think the scares hold up to this day, I won't lie.
5. The Green Knight - not a lot of people love this one, but it just hits the right vibes of a dark arthurian fantasy with just a different way of thinking about morality.
4. Jurassic Park - Dinosaurs and Storytelling
3. The Lighthouse - I am a huge Robert Eggars fan for so many reasons, and this is just one of the most atmospheric and eldritch sea feeling movies I've ever seen.

Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies. Since it came out six years before I was born, I had always wanted to see it in theaters. That dream coming true was the only good thing that happened during the start of the covid pandemic
Edit: Almost forgot to say that I vividly remember the start-up for the DVD main menu for Jurassic Park is the Velociraptor's snout appearing from behind the window of the kitchen door and snorting steam onto the glass

Yes!!! Never had it on DVD but we still have the VHS laying around somewhere. I only got to see it in theatres with my mum during the anniversary last year. It was such an experience, especially since i grew up watching it as a lil kid on my grandparent's floor

As a film studies major I made it my goal to write essays on my two favorite films being Jurassic Park and Jaws. It ended up being the best essays I’ve submitted so far.
My favorite movie is Studio Ghibli’s The Tale of Princess Kaguya. It’s one that not many people have seen but it needs to be more well known! It’s gorgeous and has such a powerful message. It is more somber but it can’t be beat.

7:11 one thing that is more logic in the book is that in the book, Grant figure out that the T-rex's vision is based on movement (cause she doesn't see him when he's not moving), while in the movie, he already knows it, but we don't know how.

Ok so my top 10 will be a mix of nostalgia and like actual good movies.
1. Titanic - Such nostalgia but also it’s just a great film all around. It came out when I was 8 and I wasn’t supposed to see it but I saw it anyway 😅 it kickstarted my obsession with Leo DiCaprio
2. Pulp Fiction - I loooooove Quentin Tarantino and this is his best film imo.
3. Avatar (blue aliens) - James Cameron is one of my favourite directors and the theatre experience was mind blowing. The CGI is still some of the best cgi of all time and the acting is stellar.
4. Kill Bill Part 1 - that fight scene is chefs kiss.
5. The Green Mile- I cry every time I watch it, and I’ve seen it like 30 times.
6. The Lion King - still my favourite Disney film of all time, full of nostalgia.
7. The Princess Bride - I just wove it.

I was late to Hot Fuzz, but I vividly remember when Shaun of The Dead was released in theaters and I love them both!
I wonder if Seán was as disappointed in The World’s End as I was. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright are all brilliant so I don’t understand why the infamous Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy capped off on such a sour note.
I have the Trilogy on BluRay and I can go back to the first two multiple times, but I’ve only been able to sit through the third film once.
I don’t know why I went down this Cornetto rabbit hole. Hell… why not?

If you haven't yet, I definetly recommend reading the book that annihilation is based on. Its very different, but it does some really interesting things that the movie doesn't. I didn't like the sequel books as much but the first one is still worth reading imo
