9:28 this actually made me cry
He'd be in hell 10x over
Edit: Interesting Fact: this movie was inspired by a true story. Except the guy that was executed was only 14. His name was George Stinney Jr. and was wrongfully convicted of murder of two white girls in 1944.
Ok now that is just fucked up
Even worse than the movie
Actually no, that was just a huge parallelism story case. Since the green Mile was based only on Stephen King's novel. Unless King's novel is based on that child's case, which I don't think it is...
@@BlackLion-nb8fm I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually inspired. as the gay characters in IT has a parallel to the real 1984 murder case of a gay guy named Charlie Howard that was beat up to death by homophobic kids. and what's more, it happened in MAINE, which you probably have know is where King's hometown.
Not even remotely true. Sorry. No connection apart from the color of their skin, and the fact they died in the electric chair. And also that they're innocent. No real connection in either story.
Wow so he brought the dead back to life and lived for hundreds of years..so cool
I love how people keep endlessly requesting movies for you to do, usually sequels to movies you've done before, and you're just like "Nah I'm gonna do Green Mile, a movie nobody requested or even remotely expected". You keep doing you, I'm here for it lol.
He did say in a little click-able button during the video that the green mile was requested by his patreons
the green mile is one of the best movies ever
Well done Sir, not just doing every popular movie that you have no Interest in just to try to get clicks...sad that's a rarity on RUclips but at least we have the scholar and gentleman High Boi, to make the quality entertainment that we so crave.

The Green Mile is one of the movies that most make me angry and depressed at the same time. Now, this guy's summary *made me laugh,* a fun escapism from the horrible things that happen in our reality.
Thank you High Boi.
No this recap is just as fuckin sad as the movie I was in tears throughout most of the video
Del’s execution is one of the most absolute frightening things I’ve ever seen in a movie
6:38 why does it sound like he's reading some type of smutty fanfiction lol
15:04 According to the book Del's crime was Arson.....and ....sexual assault....which is probably why they left that out of the movie to make it sadder when Del goes the way he does (also a testament to the actor for making the character as likeable as he is)........although the irony doesn't escape me that he's put on death row for arson and ends up bursting into flames.
I Hear that he r@pe a girl
arson and sexual assault? Was that enough to get the death penalty back in the day? I assume it would also be manslaughter if the arson led to death
@@TheTGOAC nah, original comment downplayed it way the fuck down. Del raped and murdered a young girl and set her body on fire to cover up his crime, said fire burns down a nearby apartment building killing 6 additional people, including 2 kids. At least in the book that's what went down anyway...
Sooo... yeah, not really someone one should feel bad for. The film probably left all those details out to avoid darkening an already heavy-toned film.
Should have kept it in, adds more moral conflict when there's a "close to home" crime. Unless he was just too retarded to know what he's doing.
@@Davenzoid holy fuck
Dude made Green Miles laughable, fucking Green Miles, LAUGHABLE.

I remember watching the end of this movie with my dad as a kid. I was at that age where I didn't understand why he got executed at the end of the film even after my dad told me. But after trying to understand my dad told me it's a movie where you have to watch the entire movie to understand it. Me thinking they're killing an innocent man why would that be ok. Years later the green mile pops up in my suggested watch list. So I sit back and watch the movie. I will say this movie is a gold movie. You understand just how he feels and it's heart wrenching.

As funny as that would be, he actually traded a nickel for a moon-pie from the janitor. Very original at least lol.

Here's a question? How old was John? I mean if his Miracle gives the mouse and Paul, a super long life, it must have given John an even longer life. Would explain why he is okay with dying.
It’s implied that John was a disciple of jesus in this universe or even a stand in given his initials (JC…ring any bells?). This of course makes him 1000s of years old, driving home how tired he is as he likely suffers from a never ending life where his experience and paul’s parallel (loved ones die as he lives, so all relationships lose meaning and leaves him with unbearable loneliness)
Ayooooo what??
@@adi.does.things i comfuse
@@rorywatt9752 John wouldn't be 1000s of years old...he'd be aging as a normal human. If you want to go with that "theory," then modify it a bit. Could've been a "disciple of Jesus" reincarnated into Coffey, but Coffey may not be 100 percent aware of "who" he is or "who" he "used to be."
@@cainster Depend how the power is supposed to work in universe. Since it can let a mouse live to what seem to be 70-80 years old with ONE contact, it might let the original bearer be an unaging immortal.
3:24 actually his aim was spot on.

when he said not to imagine the mouse on a popsicle i did imagine it now i cant get it out of my head bruh
Watched this years ago, I cried. Watched it an hour ago, cried even more because I understand that this kind of shit happens. Innocent people condemned to be walking corpses because they can't defend themselves. If there is a hell, I dare say we've already reached it.
Lol good point but hell is even worse then that... In hell there is no good anything, so things like hope, relief, and happiness just isn't there
That's why I have such mixed feelings on the death penalty. It really needs to be reserved for when there's no doubt in guilt. Like the guy who stabbed 2 people on a loaded bus in Canada and was still on it when police arrived. 0 doubt there but some other cases are a little too gray in my opinion.

I had a little mouse. I miss my little mouse.
It's a dystopian and psychological thriller film and this guy right here just...
this mf nameed tiddies like bro 💀💀💀💀
🐁
I had a little mouse too a few years ago. It was a wild mouse that had nested in my wood working shop one winter. I'd catch a quick glimpse of her running by and sometimes I'd see her peaking around from behind various things in the shop, kinda staring at me like she was trying to figure out what I was up to. So, I started feeding her peanuts. I learned that she definitely preferred the honey roasted peanuts over the standard roasted and salted ones. I wouldn't say I tamed her, but it was amazing how comfortable she became with being around me. After only a couple of days she would come up and fearlessly take a peanut from my hand and sit there and eat it in front of me instead of running away. It became a routine each night. After she ate a couple of peanuts each time I'd give her a few more and she would take them one by one and stash them all around the shop in various hiding places for later. She'd hang around me and would play with various things on my work benches while I worked stuff. Eventually she had babies and when they started walking she would bring them out to play on the benches and tables too. The babies looked like little fuzzballs with these tiny little legs that were too close together, comparable to the wheel-base on the old Isuzu Troopers that made them such a high risk for rolling over when making a sharp turn too fast. The little babies would do the same thing except most of the time they'd start running and make it about 6 to 8 inches before tripping and rolling over forward/head first. They'd then stand back up and make this noise that sounded like a combination between a little angry sneeze and bird chirping before doing it all over again. I know all this may sound like BS, but it's honestly a true story. I've always kinda wondered if other people had similar experiences with wild mice. I miss my little mouse too.
@@Mr.Fister.Roboto Picturing the little mouse family playing brightened my day. Thanks for that.
I don't think that was poo that Billy spat at Brutal. He traded the Janitor a nickel for a moon pie like 3 seconds before so it was probably that.

"7000 depressions out of 4 soy beans"
Sadly that state is a true one. I don't know how those two things are connected but as far as i know they are at this ratio available in my life.
When I was in jail I was put in solitary for a week. When I got to the “less bad” solitary dude I was with dropped a piece of food and didn’t pick it up. Within an hour there were ants all over it. They were our pets for a few days until the guards actually went in to check the solitary dorm. When there is literally nothing to do but be miserable and incarcerated you become entertained by even the smallest form of change.
So you went from solitary to... duotary?
you were actually in jail
@@arkvoodleofthesacredcrotch6060 I was being transferred to the work release dorm. They also didn’t let me out on work release anyway until I was done with the solitary punishment. Honestly just wish they had kept me in the tiny room alone with a towel. The guy in duotary with me was an annoying loser and gave away the ant colony to the guards. The guys in solitary were much more hilarious, talked about movies, yelled at the guards unspeakable things, etc.
Even w High Boi's comical recap,it still made me shed tears. This movie is a masterpiece

This movie....uh. It reminds me of the fact that not everything is awful in the world. There's a lot a LOT of darkness out there. Loved the way you both managed to keep the jokes coming while at no point belittling the emotions of the movie, toning it back a bit at those really heart felt moments. This took my on another level compared to your other videos. Maybe this would also work with shawshank redemption and/or gran torino, if I may be so bold to offer suggestions?
I think the fact that boi's movie reviews are all done in a comedic way, but he still recognizes good movies and emotional scenes, so he knows when to pull it back and let the intended emotion through. He might be a hehe aha funny movie reviewer, but he does know movies pretty well.

your video was hilarious, but after it finished, I started thinking about this move. it was also a personal favorite of my mom, and she passed away last year. so now after almost crying of laughing, I'm crying from actual sadness. wonderful job!
