Hello , I drove semi for over 20 years , and throughout those years my tractors have up graded and changes to the models were made , the most common problem I had with my equipment is the DEF pump , the pump on my trucks were always giving warnings and problems, the big thing is garages don’t have DEF pumps on their shelves and it could take days for them to get one into the shop to swap out , what do you thinks about the problem???
on agricultural tractors 🚜, a technician had to use a computer adjust the potentiometer readings on the foot pedal for the computer to accept it. it wasnt just a plug N play deal. 😂
I had replaced very old fuel lines, the first time the truck was placed under a load after the lines switch, old rubber clogged up everything got past the fuel filter it was a mess
What if my truck can barely go up a 1 degree hill with an empty trailer? 😢 it’s governed at 68 and drops to 55-60 every time I drive up a slight hill. I drive for UPS with a kennworth CNG
You and I are the same age. I told my young adult son, that I am an anachronism, I am irrelevant. He looked up, surprised, and asked “excuse me, are you speaking to me”
Don’t rule out the fuel filter
Found out the reason I wasn't getting any fuel to the pedal was because it was $8 per gallon
Great. Usually ,it happens Saturday evening and you do not have the parts.
I don't have one of those. My truck has a steel rod that goes from the pedal to the fuel pump.
These Day DEF issues and you better call a wrecker
I save ALL YOUR VIDEOS as I’m studying for my cdl , can’t wait to start this journey
I had this happen last year while crossing a 4 lane highway. Thankfully I got across safely
I don't know who you are but you kick ass.
I'm not even a trucker and I like listening to your advice and stories.
Nothing like a mechanical injector pump good old days
Good advice if pre-DEF.
If it's a Cummins isx egr it's the boost temp/ pressure sensor clogged with carbon from egr
Sucks that it's electric issues but good to know. Thanks sir
Electronic crap
That would be a $5k part after all the strikes start.
Unless it's 0 degrees with a 40 mph wind chill and you're running untreated fuel
Thanks for sharing your wisdom Dave ☺️❤️.
Great video! Can you make some more videos like that? Thanks.
Thanks man I appreciate that😮✌️👍
Nothing beats a live tail system.
Wise advice, thank you sir! Good luck with this half driver this days, I have coworkers that don't change a light bulb they say is too hard to do it.

Could be the fuel filter.
Greetings: He said "probably" and 9 x out of 10. So there Ppl, the professional me mechanic in the vid told U so. I love predicable diagnosis.
Been there done that
Nice one
Can this be intermittent?
Good tip 👌👍
Or, on international straight trucks and Mack’s, crankshaft positioning sensor!!!
I can’t wait to get on the road!!
Never had problems with the old throttle cable engines.
What happened to throttle linkage
on agricultural tractors 🚜, a technician had to use a computer adjust the potentiometer readings on the foot pedal for the computer to accept it. it wasnt just a plug N play deal. 😂
I had replaced very old fuel lines, the first time the truck was placed under a load after the lines switch, old rubber clogged up everything got past the fuel filter it was a mess
What about the electric throttle plates. No air no go as well.
That really sounds like the fuel filter.

What was wrong with the mechanical throttle linkage? Worked just fine, and didn't cost an arm and a leg to fix if it broke.
Could be emissions related

What does “maintenance required vehicle ecu” accompanied by temporary loss of acceleration mean, on a Volvo VL series?
Or just need to be adjusted with a tps tools no jeed to buy a new one
If it ain't the tps might be your ecu....
You drive an old truck. Today, 9 times out of 10 on newer trucks, it's because your truck is derating, usually related to the def system, which sucks.
Happened to me, but turned out to be two sfd sensors that had just been replaced with the wrong ones.
Or a clogged fuel filter
If it throws a code you need to wipe the codes. So you are up the creek.
check fuel filter first
RIP goat
They were about 4-450 pre coid. Probably twice the price now.
I have a steel rod on my GAS PEDAL
Or your fuel in jelling!!!!!😂
I Had same issue with my truck and cost me 10k because of ECU
What if I have an old school Peterbilt with mechanic fuel injection
I like my linkage very basic
Fuel filter, ... change it
hello why do my Hyundai accent 2016 you so much gas it's like it's just drinking the gas like water
Not true I just changed a fuse and starting to work again
Check the distributor, could be a loose plug wire.
Who carries these with them on the road?😊
You mean it's probably an emission sensor that shit the bed and you went into 5mph derate because that CEL/MIL has gone ignored
Eye S'poze You Know... that wrecker-drivers would appreciate You not posting.
But I do.😊 Thanks &
Merry Christmas !!
Regen
Until you realize it’s actually in derate 🙃
In the age of software, always start with a restart
Could be going into limp mode due to a multitude of sensor/ computer failures
👍🏻
Only time i lost power suddenly was blowing out the turbo
In my 64
PCM goes into " limp in mode" without TPS ...
It is a wonder they last as long as do .
put it in spanish so the mexicans can understand. haven't seen a white trucker since the 80s
??????
Lmao. Love the username. I imagine we've interacted a time or two on voat.
It accelerates in neutral
Or, Your fuel is freezing in the tanks
Or you ignored the dpf gauge too long
Drive by wire😮
Def sensors is the problem derating you
Please just bring ur truck to a shop.
Wasn’t the problem for me, I had a wire broke going to the ECM…
No nine times out ten it’s the damn fuel filter.
BREAKDOWN PAY WHILE YOU WAIT . LAYING IN MUD COLD WET. WEEKENDS UNDER THE HOOD.
Just get a manual cat and never have these problems. These new trucks are absolute junk
Get a Tesla truck.
Tech has ruined the world....
rest in peace my brother, your highway is free now🫶🏾🤘🏾
