I am from India and I can attest u that no one takes personal development seriously here. Most of the people are for materialistic gain. But I can buy ur argument of "Billion people and guru in them'.

    • @ClearOutSamskaras
      @ClearOutSamskaras 7 лет назад

+Harshal Shinde, he said that India has a very ancient and rich tradition and culture of taking spirituality, enlightenment very seriously. The evidence of that is in the development of Hinduism and Buddhism to name just two things. Leo's uncontroversial point is not invalidated by the fact that much of Indian society is trying to carve out material success for themselves in a country that is trying to modernize and enrich itself along modern capitalist/information age paths. India is a nation-state, it also has a grand traditions of spiritual inquiry and development; one aspect does not necessarily cancel out the other. India is a big enough culturally, historically, socially, and geographically to encompass many differing things all at once.

Wow Leo, you created this video at the perfect time for me!!! I have went from working 5 days a week and spending 2 days crafting and honing my music/creative passions. NOW, with a new job which is COMPLETELY different from the previous one (cooking) i work 3 days a week and the remaining 4 i work on myself, music, art, drumming, RUclips, etc. Gradually i am gaining a small income outside of being an employee and being "self-employed" (live performances, monetizing, music sales).
I am finding VALUE within myself and am working hard on that every fucking day.. it's tough but must be done.
A vision came to me 3 days ago. A small workspace/warehouse in which i can rent or build. There, i can create.. all day. It will be so efficient and allow me to implement an idea as soon as it comes up. This is tough, and pretty scary. I must work hard at creating the blue print for this. Thank Leo, and much love to everyone on the path to enlightenment ;)

Very good information about building an infrastructure that is solid and has meaning. Leo mentioned that the environment plays a very important part in the building process. For example: I, personally, cannot be around anyone (friend, fake friend, family, associate, random stranger, etc.) that doesn't contribute to any type of good vibe or growth and development. The poisons of life starts with the person and his/her pendent for not seeing one grow. They pinch holes and puncture close one's spirit just to get they're own jollies off. Real talk, especially here in NYC

Come ooooonnnn it's not that grim in Africa Leo, you'd be surprised how beautiful and developed most countries are. The picture of doom and gloom you have is what Western media feeds it's publics, bad leadership and corruption is everywhere, the world over, it stems from greed, not physical location...speaking of bad leaders, is USA one to point fingers at this point and time?? Hehehe...I think not. Our democracies are less than 60yrs old, give us time to mature politically. What you teach is what we need, continue with the videos, the few of us here who are into self-development will change the lives of the communities here in the future. Thank you for your work.

much love. I need a Mac, new keyboard, Adobe after effects, become more creative, attractive to humans, persuasive, gain managing, communication, humor, sensually touching, creativity in general, and in audio and video skills, hiring people, and getting people to pay and want me, etc. I waste my time mostly in apathy from suicidal, hostile thoughts, bipolar, major depression, stress, etc. all result of life not feeling enjoyable naturally and always wanting to just not exist, but not having suicide as an option anymore only because I've causes my family so much debt that killing myself would only create more for them. of course thoughts always trace back the same path. "should've done it while I could've", "why didn't I die when I tried suicide the first few times?", "why can't I ever find hope after all attempts nd faithfulness to different religions and self with environment?" etc.

Leo, you couldn't be more inaccurate about Indians being very concerned about personal development and consciousness. It's a field that is coming up here but on an average, it's usually ignored upon and seen as something totally unnecessary.
The only type of personal development that is really on the rise relates to health in the form of gym and diet but that is also very slow considering our massive population.
But when it comes to spiritual development, people are not even aware of common values like minimalism. I am a minimalist and have it tattooed on my calf. I'm yet to come across anyone here who has seen it and understood what it meant. In fact when I talk about minimalism, it's almost laughed upon because people here, including the younger generation are still living the way their parents used to, which is finishing their degrees, getting married, having kids and then buying all sorts of crap. They really believe that this will give them happiness and the belief is so deep rooted that there is no room for any "esoteric BS".
The sages and gurus you talk about are mostly rip-offs trying to rekindle the path that some of the more genuine people took in the 60s n 70s. I think apart from OSHO, there are very few modern-day mystics that India has produced.
I think the problem here is that even the younger generations are so afraid of taking risks that they are still firmly clutching onto the past. You can even see this in the way they dress on a normal day. There is no novelty and aesthetic sense to it. Most people here don't pay attention to even basics of grooming, let alone personal development.
The result is that our current generation is perhaps the most boring and intellectually retarded one. Any deep and meaningful talk about life is almost impossible here. They are only interested in tv shows, bollywood movies and cricket. Way too shallow. And none of these problems are because of India being poor. I'm even talking about well off people. The problem is a deep rooted psychological one the root of which is an inability to let go off the past.

This is fucking GREAT. I have read books like Jed Mckenna and other enlightenment books that talk about truth but don't ever mention or talk about the infrastructure of building this life. This is perfect and I have FINALLY started to be able to reconcile this conscious dissonance with this video.

“God’s not gonna build you a fucking highway to your dreams.” I love that message tbh. I was raised with the notion that, “God helps those who help themselves,” was wrong, but that is bullshit. All of God’s men were men of deep introspection and powerful action, King David, Samson, King Solomon, Elijah the Tishbite, King Jehoshaphat, Joseph of the Many Colors. These were all driven, active men who listened to God and thus did great things, and anyone who sits back and totes, “Jesus take the wheel,” is kidding themself

Dear Leo, after I re-watched your video about toxic people I would like to ask a question. You know how things are back in Russia and the former satelite states in Eastern Europe. What do you do, when not only close people to you, but the society as a whole seems to be toxic? People here seldom smile, dress mostly in black and are pretty holeric, the atmosphere itself is toxic. Leaving the country is not an option for me at the moment, I managed to make a career working from home but there is like a black aura over everything. How can one find inner peace in such conditions? How can one accept calmly the calamities of quick-tempered unshaven boars and total crab-bucket mentality? And it seem the more I try to be polite, the bigger of a doormat everyone considers me for. It seems impossible not to put oneself into such a situation if one is inside this country. Help!!

Wasting time watching bullshit on the internet is very true. Looks like the only way to accomplish a lot in this lifetime is to eradicate useless tasks and entertainment. I tried to moderate my time spent on the internet or playing video games but that doesn't work for me because I fall down into the pit of unconsciousness. Looks like it's time for me to tighten up and build an infrastructure with borders around. Hate to say this but it's true, I have to become like a president of a country. That is the only way to accomplish anything worthwhile.

How is it possible for us to have a genuine life purpose if we don't really exist? Is that just our ego/false self creating more of an identity for itself?

Leo, you have in the past stated that you could plan for the next 10 years and perhaps even further. I wonder, will you have children? Can one know if one needs or dont need children? how?

your video titles are too on the nose. The mental work out your videos require me to do are too daunting in the way they are presented in the title. once I finally watch your videos they're captivated and worth my time. focus on my time and act accordingly your actual ideas are full of value and demand their own respectfully

The last part about the dangers of infrastructure is quite an advanced topic, not many will know what Leo is talking about since they haven't experienced or created infrastructures yet, most people struggle with simple discipline. The dangers are real.

Leo pls respond. Im 41 and have lived a hedonistic life to my detriment. Since I discovered you my live has changed on levels of magnitude i cant believe! My psyche is running so well and i need to take it to the next level! Do you think its too late to mainly focus on my development? I have never had a life purpose and now after listening to you for 2 years i want to go back to college and gain some qualifications to build my infrastructure however people i know advise me to get a job again in labouring which i did for years. Im so confused because i feel so much more actualised than people close to me take me for. They don't believe in Watching actualised videos but i know better. Do you think I could follow what im now aimed at or would you agree im too old to pursue an actualised life and a dream job? Your opinion would mean the world to me! Many thanks Shaun.

Leo, what say you about "a fool who persists in his folly becomes wise"? I'm referring to what Alan Watts has said who learned it from Carl Jung. Will there ever be a video about the only hope that any of your viewers like myself have when it comes to dissolving the ego?

Or is that letting the cat out of the bag too early for your viewers? Too difficult of a topic for where your channel and viewers are at in this point of time maybe, as in you are waiting to introduce these notions? Surely you have a great understanding of what I'm trying to convey here, if not it'd be extremely troubling to me as I'd feel you are leading your viewers astray.
