    So life is just like boardgames. People who don't respect the game are no fun to play with and people who take the game too seriously are also no fun to play with. You have to respect the game, pay attention to it fully and still know it's just for fun. The ability to do this with boardgames is common, but treating life like this is less common.
    Another thing, you don't become a better player by winning. You become better by playing it, by studying it and by enjoying it. Winning is just a little bonus.

    Around this time last year, I first discovered one of your videos. It was the break-up one because I was going through a breakup and had the idea that maybe there was a helpful video.. Little did I know I would discover a channel that would change my life forever. I've watched so many of your videos and began to be inspired. I started meditating for 20 mins per day, keeping a graditude journal of the 10 things that I was thankful for each day and doing positive affrimations to fight off those lazy feelings. As a result, I lost around 80lbs and experienced happiness for the first time in a long time. It has not always been like that though, I definatley had moments where I was confused and didn't know where to turn too. I fell into bad habits, slowly went from meditating for 20 minutes everyday to not meditating at all. My mind began to race, I felt like it was out of control. My preformance in work suffered as well. Whenever I would feel like this, I'd say to myself "ok...let's go look on Leo's channel" and would easily find something that resinated with me in that moment. I would feel like I hit the reset button essentially, and then I was back on the path. I just want to thank you- for making this channel and being so passionated about helping people like myself. I reccomend your videos and website to anyone who is going through a tough time or even my sucessful sister who gets caught up in her busy life.
    Also to anyone who has trouble grasping the things he's saying, take notes. I treat it almost as a lecture! I just write down the steps and just quotes that really make me think. Then I refer back to them. His concepts are really deep and they are worth "studying" so you really understand them.

      Yeah, reading The Power of Now and just a consistent meditation practice will do so much for it. I got way better with them. What’s improved me further though is CBT and challenging the belief that those thoughts are actually doing something for me. Realizing that in specific instances and writing it down really helps.

    I think you shouldn’t generalize video games and TV and junk food as objectively bad things. Putting in hard work and then allowing yourself to do things you like is objectively fine. Wether or not you acquire new hobbies or disciplines along the way doesn’t make you any less actualized. It’s the entire balance of things. Leo you have an obligation to tell your viewers “do less of this, more of that”, not “don’t do this, do this”

    • @Johnnygga
      @Johnnygga 6 лет назад +1

      Crazigloo I’m slowly starting to realize that it all doesn’t matter absolutely at all. Whatever Leo says, whatever Gurus say, whatever your mind says. It will always be okay, no matter how shitty or epic your circumstances are. You can’t take anything or any of your “hard work” with you when you “die”, and you can’t survive if you’re lazy as shit and broke. It’s almost like just be in the present moment of this unpredictable 1st person perspective and try to stay there and enjoy it. Everything else is secondary.

    How am I going to figure out an authentic life purpose when I change positions on things more frequently than I change my socks? Every path just seems meaningless, or at least not meaningfull enough for it to motivate me to doing it. Enlightenment motivates me though, but I don't want that to be the only thing, and I'm studying physics at university now, but I'm not really that passionate about it. I think it may get better as improving will give me more "in the zone"-feelings, but no life purpose makes me cry.

    but in my opinion you are missing something crucial ( as you are in different level from normal people )that is : life is so simple and doesn't need hard work mindset , you can be completely relax and in deep peace as you going through challenges .
    I am taking from experience , right now I earn 300 dollars a month working as farmer enough to pay the rent of the house and food in Lebanon
    and I starting to new project . even I am under money pressures I am enjoying my life and nature around me
    I go through all survival issues water food shelter and accommodation

    No lie.....I was diagnosed with 3 mental health disorders. With that I had all these limiting beliefs about myself and my life. Since doing all this work, especially the visualisation work over the past year I'm on no meds, have no therapy and have created an amazing life full of passion. Everyday I'm working so hard and not many people understand my journey, but it's paying off massively. Sometimes my old life tries to pull me back, but there's no £%&king way that's happening. I always think 'what is the alternative if I don't do this work?' And that is what keeps me from sliding backwards.

      Yep i agree, this video really suprised me, because it seems really contradicting to his later videos about surrendering, ultimate reality, avoiding roles, letting go of control, life purpose and the meaning of life...

    • @ayy2193
      @ayy2193 6 лет назад

      Have a look at the concept of 'flow', when people are the most engaged in life they unify with the action (less neurotic). Plus your brain is aligned to a purpose so much of your thinking will be directed on a greater path instead of chaotic lost in the forrest.
      There is both Yin and Yang and both are required for balance. This video is the Yang.

    Hey Leo
    Great video, as the rest of your channel top quality staff.
    However, I must disagree on one point, I think that calling the idea "there is nothing to do" stupid is quite an injustice, that's a powerful idea that helped me a lot in my personal development, and can help many people (mainly those who are neurotically driven).
    Morever, the idea of working hard can be ridiculed just as much.
    Ultimately life is about balance, there are those who are blocked by laziness and there are those who are blocked by workaholism/ perfectionism.
    there is time to work and time to rest, time to be tough and time to be soft, time to cast stones and so on.
    ridiculing/demonizing one end of the spectrum is cultivating fear, and would take one out of balance.
    Other that that, again, this video is one of the best things I saw on youtube inspiring. motivating and very helpful.
    Keep up the amazing work!

      The idea of there being nothing to do is too extreme. Even sitting down and staring at a wall is still doing something. He is more criticising the people who have that mindset and fully believe they have absolutely nothing to do, which is technically impossible

    I get it, we humans need challenge, we love challenge, we don't really grow without challenge. I just don't see why you put such extreme emphasis on this. I don't see the advice of looking for challenge too different from taking care of yourself or enjoying life's small things, as in: I think it's something natural. Maybe someone recieved the video differently? Would appreciate answers. :)
