I'm fifty seven. I'm not sick, dead, or too stubborn to try! I woke up about 6 years ago and spend more and more time contemplating personal discovery. I'm "old", but never "too old"! Love your channel. You speak on very important subjects, but I have noticed (more than once) that you tend to have a belief that us older folks are a lost cause! My ego doesn't appreciate that, lol
Totally agree, the soul has no beginning and no end. There is no time limit. Whenever the opportunity to wake up presents itself is the time for you. My husband of 40 years died suddenly 3 years ago without warning which (sadly) presented me with my time to wake up. I’m progressing slowly but surely, with plenty of distractions along the way.
I think distraction is very well shown by a Bill Hicks comedy sketch video. He made a profound statement about a young man's revelation on LSD and then swiftly proceeded to say, 'and here's Tom with the weather'....not wanting anyone to reflect on the profundity of the statement. A true sign of our times.
@@Maffu79 he just needs to collect em all. Then he will loose the game. You can't though so... guess you win. Unless the bottle caps loose their value.
Made me depressed because the truth hurts "the ego won. You won.... that's the game being played here. all the mind have to do is stall out the clock with distractions ." thanks for uploading this video. I needed it, it'll definitely help me become more conscious little by little and help me discover myself more. Change for the better that is. Beautiful lecture.
I’ve been listening for years to you. I know when I need to listen to certain episodes of yours especially Ego Backlash. Your so spot on with the sneakiness of distractions. At least you have given me the tools to recognize when I have been distracted. Now I’m working on recognizing the distraction before I enter it. Thank you Leo!!!! Be safe my friend
I have been watching your episodes for almost a year now. My mental, emotional, physical and financial health has improved to the point that I am ready to begin the journey.
I just turned 16 last week. I started watching Leo's videos about a year ago. I went into meditation after doing a lot of research and attempting to understand its pitfalls. I meditated for about a year and saw nothing, absolutely nothing. And I've figured out why. It was partly because I was placing immense pressure on myself. It was also partly because I am in need of medication for reasons I don't wanna get into. I would watch Leo's videos, and I would do the most. I tried hours of Strong determination sitting, I tried meditating for an hour every day after building up to it, I tried concentration work for months, etc. etc. And I saw no results, I actually started to go heavily backwards because of what I have. I am so interested in this work until I recently stopped because things were getting worse, and worse, and worse. I subconsciously thought that "Leo" was the only way to go and that he had all the answers. And thinking this, was the destruction of my life. It was making my condition worse and worse and worse. This is why I stopped, because "Leo" was inadvertently destroying my life. It was through this that I finally realized that Leo does not have all of the answers and what he preaches applies to mostly "normal" people with "normal" problems. I hope to come back to his videos once I get my condition under control and start to apply his wisdom with caution and balance instead of with blindness and ignorance. So actually I am grateful, because Leo has taught me that he and his content is something to consider, not the only way to go. But one thing did shock me though. I was reading through one of Leo's responses to comments and one person asked something along the lines of "How does one self improve if they have a mental illness." Leo's response was simply "Outgrow it." I do not understand how one is to outgrow down syndrome or dementia or even alzheimer's for that matter. I understand that meditation can prevent alzheimers but even then. This was shocking to me. because I was not expecting a response like that. Can someone let me know if i'm missing something? Anyway to conclude, if you'd read this far, i've learned, through Leo, to apply with caution, not with ignorance. I hope that someone else does not fall into the deep hole that I did so if you'd read this, good luck.
what kind of response do you think was proper to such a question as "How does one self improve if they have a mental illness"? I think his response makes sense because i sense a victim mentality from that kind of question. the person with a mental illness cant do anything about the mental illness but continue growing. anyway does the term "mental illness" even make sense to you? every person is unique, every person has a different illness even if he was diagnosed with X. true that it can have conceptual similarities with other people, but limiting yourself by saying "I have a mental illness" is wrong. by the way Leo always preaches to find as much perspectives as possible and stresses that we take his perspective as a perspective, just as another source of information.
Dementia, Down Syndrome and Alzheimer’s are not mental illnesses. Mental illnesses are things like depression and anxiety. Look up “post-traumatic growth,” you may come across something helpful for your condition. Some mental illnesses have organic causes, but sometimes a person can outgrow them.
@@Morgan313 but if you go far enough down the spiritual path you start to hear everything is mind there is no physical....... then again leo has commented on his own health issues multiple times clearly some may heal overnight but its not so simple to many.....
Ok so the very first thing i want to say is it's ok if Leo's video are not working for uh...uh do what uh want to do...and secondly where uh said that uh did meditation and it didn't work....I don't know what kind of meditation uh were practicising...i have myself meditated for just 2 to 3 min for a month or so and it has increased my consistency in the past....and plus plus plus I was even suffering from a mental disorder so it's not like meditation is for so called normal people...it's for everyone And i have tried his self love video and it works...i had a worst self esteem and now within a month I am seeing positive changes even if I have mental disorders.... And uh know what it has been told by psychologist as well that 99 percent of people suffer from mental disorders or mental health issues....and only 1 percent are "normal" so I don't think so Leo's content is only for those 1 percent....even if uh r suffering from a mental issue you can still work on Self improvement and self esteem stuff......

I was lead to your video today, and it completely changed my thinking. Not that I was asleep, I have made a part time job out of shadow work, understanding reality, and raising my vibration - and having some success. Your words were not new, but driven home in a very effective way. Thank you so much for this presentation.
That seemed like quite a short hour and four minutes...which I can only take as a good thing. He led me along a difficult mental journey in a beautiful way. I know I have much work to do but this helped confirm for me several ways of looking at the self and the world that I have at times glimpsed temporarily. It brought those moments back of experiencing truth and gave them more substance. I hope this may make some sense to someone who has watched this and connected to the concepts Leo talks with such passion about. Love it. If you're reading this man, then thank you.
Thank you for consistently producing high quality content Leo!! Watching your videos over the years, along with implementing your suggested methodology, have played a major role in the advancement of my own personal development. You're truly one of a kind.
Yes I confirm, actualized is not just a distraction, it helps us keeping ourselves on the track, inspiring us, finding tools gor bevoming stronger. It is actualy the most insightful youtube channel.
Hey Leo, my dear friend, after having meditated 20 years in a cave I tell you, you were on a good path but now got distracted by your own ontology. Enlightment is a distraction. But eventually you will realize that everything is, can be, and is not a distraction. Not that it matters what I just said.
The best thing about Leo's videos is how many aspects and topics are covered, but ultimately they all lead to the few Life Principles like conciousness or transcendence.
The hurricane in Disneyland metaphor may have been some of your worse timing ever Leo! But on a lighter note I want to thank you so much for the wisdom here and especially for the part at the end where you spoke about forgiving yourself and appreciating the tricks of the ego as a force of nature. This body/mind often has trouble with becoming quite harsh with itself during backslides and succumbing to distractions that make it all the more difficult to maintain control. It warmed my heart to hear the empathy in your voice in place of your usually strict and disciplined tone. I know we face these thresholds together and I want you to know that your guidance saved my life and continues to shine awareness along this twisting path. My deepest love and gratitude Alexandar
I am happy that this video has not been labelled as "dangerous" and taken down yet. Because this is the type of information that people NEED to hear and that can really change the whole world for the better.
🤯🤯 At exactly 23:22 seconds. The realization of what your were saying clicked. And holy shit did it is scare me. 😂🤣This is so wild. I understand why people don't search for it. This probably the deepest realization I have ever had. Your mind literally protects itself from exposing the illusion of itself to your ego..through distractions. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Thank you leo, for your insights that are helping me now and have helped me in the past. Thank you for spending time talking to me. I will learn from you. You are me, and i am you. We will never see each other, but just know that we are in this for a infinite amount of time.
You talk so much sense. I am trying to find/discover myself, but it's so difficult with spouse, kids, work, school, sports and friends. But I'm glad someone understands it. That actually makes me feel a little better. Few weeks ago I was put off by your videos of doing substances. I don't think I would do that to get self realization.
9:11 👏👏 perfect example, I always said: "I'm not just the magician, I'm the magic trick.. me and my entire workd" It's funny to realize that btw 😄😄 Love your videos 🙏❤
This reminds me of Pema Chodron's book The Places That Scare You, which was very mind-shifting for me. Realizing that also the good and noble things in life are just distractions. But becoming aware is probably more than most people will actually do, so there's a great beauty in this realization. Thank you for a good video Leo.
I have committed myself to Self Inquiry and like Leo said, you will fall off track. That's exactly what happened. Man. The pull of Maya is strong, but I am coming back stronger and smarter. Maiki is becoming an object within my awareness more and more. Best of luck to everyone!
Leo, this video exhibits too much extremism. Some of these "distractions" are simply facets of life and reality that people misuse and take for granted because they have no control over the mind. It doesn't mean these things are meaningless or unnecessary or should be shunned to attain enlightenment. The problem is how unhealthy the average human mind is, not the fact that these facets of reality exist. It's not as hard as you suggest to attain truth amongst these facets of our reality. There is no reason why the mind shouldn't be able to transcend the pull of the collective ignorance surrounding it. The two reasons for the low percentage of people who strive for higher consciousness today are ignorance and the power of the subconscious mind, not the distractions of the environment and how difficult it is to attain truth within it. It is true that a lot of these distractions are frivolous and would automatically disappear in the wake of a widespread awakening movement, but a lot of these "distractions" are actually very important to this reality we're in. Attempts at making the world a better place and human relationships are not distractions. Enlightenment is a state of mind, a feeling; it's not a destination that transcends this reality. One shouldn't even pursue enlightenment, as if it were some rare and mystical creature, only to be obtained by a select few. It should not be life's end goal. One should only hope to transcend the subconscious and have a healthy mind. Enlightenment is likely attained only in that pursuit, not the pursuit of itself. With the advent of the internet, we now find ourselves in a new age. This power has never been bestowed upon us in history. We can now spread the necessary awareness to lead the masses out of the dark. This awakening movement will inevitably happen, assuming society doesn't collapse before the movement occurs, because it's now possible for it to occur, where it wasn't before. Given enough time, it will happen. With all that being said, people should strive to have a healthy mind by having control over the subconscious, while simultaneously doing the best they can to improve society, not shunning society and questing enlightenment.
What is this awaking of the world you are talking about? This is such nonsense. Furthermore, enlightment is a strenuous process which needs constant attention, anyone that thinks not is naive. Also, being in the now is especially extreme when you have been identified with the mind your whole life. It needs drastic measures. If you let your mind distract you, if thoughts can take you over without you noticing, if you don't know why you are thinking a particular thought because you are too busy being distracted by it, you have literally no control. With control I do not mean clinging to the now, it means resting in the now.
Exactly. Mundane things are mundane. But this guy Will lead you to become nihilistic. 90% of things are a distraction. Social media, pursuing a career, money, sex... IF you are doing it for validation or some other stupid goal. But if you are chasing money to provide for your family or help the poor then i dont see anything wrong with it
I quote you: "Enlightenment is a state of mind, a feeling" "...people should strive to have a healthy mind by having control over the subconscious, while simultaneously doing the best they can to improve society..." Enlightenment is NOT a feeling because feelings come and go. Enlightenment is a change of perspective that everybody is very familiar with although in another setting. While dreaming you think you are a person and that there are other persons and together they will or should improve society. When you wake up you realize the distinction between I and the rest, between me and the world, was/is an illusion. As it is in any dream. Only when you dream you can be distracted. Whenever you're distracted, you're dreaming.
Thank you for being my weekly dose of intellictually stimulating conversation. The "how will this information change my behavior" concept from a few videos ago has really been a game changer in how i think about and apply all the knowledge and info that i read/hear/watch. #thestruggleisreal when it comes to cycles of backsliding from self-actualization. This funny but firm reminder was well timed and much appreciated. ♡♡♡
Wow yes the main distractions are the biggest ( most important stuff we are SUPPOSED to focus on) your communication skills are off the top I love listening to you I thoroughly thoroughly enjoy listening to your voice.
I've just realised that now I can hear when You're smiling Leo. Mostly listening to You when I'm working, not looking at You just listening, and that's really nice I can hear You smiling.
No. But it is possible to awaken without meditasjon. " awaken" is just starting to be mindfull. I became awake when i started to declutter and to clean my environment. But it is possible to stopp beeing awake and going back to sleep. that is the distractions of the monkey mind just consumes us again. It is a constant struggle against distraction, but it is worth it
I had that experience once i was a muslim , in fact I grew up muslim, i was radical and really devoting to god. I read about how some worshippers of god reached the sweetness of believing or something like that, so i was praying at night when suddenly i lost my awareness for the exterior reality and boom I got literally an electrical shock through my body and i saw a yellow light (i was praying at night and the light was off) i couldn't help but crying deeply, i felt blood rushing to my head and my ears ..ect i felt energetic after that. The problem is my life became miserable after that, probably my crown chakra opened and absorbed too much cosmic energy from the universe that opened all my chakra for a moment, but that made all my trauma and psychological problems getting worst and worst ( getting to the surface so that I solve them) , until i get into meditation and shadow work.
@@senmonkashonen5875 that's interesting, but yeah rare people i know awakened throught praying the muslim prayer. If you feel miserable since then, you could be in a dark knight of the soul (check if that helps)
'Ego' is complete identification with thoughts, why do people get upset, sad, mad, happy? They listen to their minds 100%, no space, no awareness. If you only know yourself as thoughts, you will have no choice. The beginning of my awakening all began from this channel. I remember watching a few video about denying reality, and it made me realize that i do have a choice, i can step out of thoughts and accept what is. After a few months of meditation i woke up while walking to work. I was listening to Rupert Spira, he said 'what is the one thing, that never changes, always present?' Watch your mind, watch your emotions. Pay attention to the attention. Where is your attention? If your attention is not in the 'now', its drifted off into the dream in your mind. Watch your emotions always, leave attention in your body.
But Leo how do you feel when you wake up? Lately I have been feeling with no motivation for anything in my life. I do have a "great life" according to society. Great family, great love relationship, good Friends, I have many hobbies and talents, the economy is good. But none of that fulfills me. I know there´s more in life and thats why I feel depressed and empty inside. But I want to know what is like to be awakened in your perspective, because with the life Im living I feel there´s no point to live because nothing really fulfills me, everything feels so shallow. So my questions to you are: 1. What does it feel to wake up? 2. How has your life changed with enlightment? 3. What´s the meaning of your life? 4. Why do you feel life is worth living? 5. How do you see life now? CAN YOU PLEASE ANSWER ME AT LEAST ONE? Im feeling real down and with zero motivation about anything and you and your videos are the one thing that make me feel there´s something better and bigger for my life. THANKS
I know it's been a year since this post but I feel this should be said anyway cause everyone else has ignored this. The questions you asked Leo will not get you what you truly seek only you can answer those questions for your self and then you will find your life change
Basically i go by the motto "be in the world but not of the world". Stay focused don't let the world's distractions become your primary focus. Make them secondary focus. I try to follow this as much as i can, still focus on the primary objective. I also follow a stoic approach, disregard the trivial and focus on the most important things.
It's one of the best topic you've done (sorry for my english). You encourage people to think about the essential. Totally agree with what you say. It's the big illusion time. Our entire life is made of distractions and it's a sad thing for people who don't see it. We are able to do the best things but we lost our life because we don't know about our real nature !!!!
seth chizmar that’s church for sure, because you don’t really view people in any light or with any extremely strong bias, or least I hadn’t, when I was following the work
I got really aware of this distraction thing during last meditation. You have one job; focus on the breath, or with open-eyed meditation; focus on one spot in your visual field. I noticed how I was constantly distracting myself with the most subtle things, like eye twitching to "re-focus" the eyes, subtle thoughts that I was totally aware of but still was somewhat distracted by, like writing down my own meditation proceedure so that I can meditate more effectively in the future (so I think). I remember when I first didn't know anything but the basics of meditation, I had a kundalini like awakening which I interrupted out of terror as I didn't expect such a thing to happen at such an early stage. The lesson I keep running into in this work is to keep it as basic as possible. It's like the old Zen saying: when you chop wood, you chop wood. When you meditate, you meditate. Don't try to co-opt the situation unless you're totally off track.
its instant gratification. kinda tricky if you think about it. Its influence to desire for information my man. anything can be an addiction if you let the pattern cross over and close off.
Love this video. Inner awareness is a lifelong journey and for us all may be struggle with "life's demands". Very powerful message and sadly isn't said enough to raise this ancient truth.
Is Leo holding back on uploading this week to make us realise we are distracted as fuck, to the point of panicking when this mans thumbnail doesn't show up on a Sunday? Dunno about you lot but my mind is fucking freaking out. There is something to learn...
Leo, thank you so much for this topic. My whole life I felt like something wrong in this society and we are concentrate our attention on nothing. It s a huge relief to get some sort of confirmation on my suspects.
theres no wayout of distraction 24/7. you go in and out every minute, or hour or a day. enjoy the distraction, then, enjoy the recalling. our dna is not able to keep our minds on an enlightened state all the time in this matrix. whatever we do is not enough to get rid of distractions or keep our steps on actualization. dont feel sad, enjoy the ride...
Leo, so how do we live? We should quit our jobs and families, or just start observing them more? How do we handle our practical physical lives? We need money and food to survive. I want my physical body to survive.
Most of the people living on the earth around 70 - 80 years have not discovered yet who they are, knowing not the purpose of life , that's the reality as human beings who follow the same patterns, fall into the same behaviour errors pursuing an illusion to ease and satisfy our minds while we are classified as successful people cause we're achieving goals and making our "dreams" come true. Thanks for sharing!
For those of you watching this video feeling confused, your confusion is justified. Your individuality and the details of your life are important! There is indeed a YOU that feels happy or excited or confused or sad. That is not an illusion or distraction. Human individuality is real and self-evident, and Leo's "there-is-no-self" talk is illogical and self-contradictory. His view takes up so much beauty out of the world. Think about it. It's the individuality and differences of a person's life that draw us to someone to form a friendship or a romance. We LIKE that we are separate, individual beings different from each other. We like these videos exactly because Leo is different from ourselves! Finally, our individuality is often what makes life worth living: we form a unique story for ourselves that is different from everyone else's. Your challenge and victories you face in life will not be the challenge and victories Leo faces. Your joys will not be his joys, your sorrows will not be his sorrows. This is all catastrophically self-evident, I am shocked I need to even say it. Leo is staring into the mirror too long. He is asking us to take a tool that helps us see the world and then to smash that same tool (our mind) into pieces. He might think this is enlightment. It is not. Ignore this video. The line of thinking he espouses here is a dead end and will not bring fullness or zest into your life. It will make you devalue the facets of your own being.
Leo's bit about the heroin addict and the one who builds the empire is totally accurate. Ideally, these are equivalent distractions. In our life; however, this is not easily not easily noticed due to the complexity of any given situation. For example you may have the heroin addict that lacks any formal education who is also trying to build the empire. Take it from someone who spent their entire twenties down the spiral with a relatively clear and non-criminal frame of mind. The main difference is life expectancy.
I was so happy when I saw this video because I thought it was about dissociation which is a big problem of mine, but then you started explaining how everything is a distraction and I was so disappointed.
Thanks i'll give it a try. It's not a severe form of dissociation though, it doesn't cause me to have fragmented personality if that's what you mean. It's just very hard to feel my emotions sometimes, especially when I am sad or anxious, I numb myself and I escape from the present moment and from what I'm feeling. It's super annoying because I waste so much time doing it, I wish I could face my emotions more easily and stop running away from them.
great:) I doesn't always has to be a break in your identity, but it sounds you exiled some of your feelings. Start thinking about what you imagine when you drift away? Maybe your mind is telling you to act on those needs you fantasize about but you deprive yourself from them? Maybee you are not giving this emotions permission to unfold in your "real life" because you learned to. I have tried many things but the best yet is a type of conected breathing. You breath so that you feel you breath go into that emotion and than breath out instantly without pause in the same maner without changeing the senasation and then again breath in without pause etc. The emotions can unfold and you can be free
@@victorburkhart2334 fundamentally speaking there is no "Truth" only what we perceive to be truth. In that regard how do we know what's really a distraction and what were really supposed to focus on?
It can be, you're right. It can become a distraction from the real truth behind your uncomfortable emotions. Anything wrongly used can be distraction from the real deal. Many people chase enlightenment as a result of suffering and to escape it. This is understandable but ultimately we must heed to the truth behind our emotions and suffering to reach it not distract from them.
i've figured out some weeks ago that 'Max' is the ego. At first i thought you have 'Max', 'The Ego' and the observing consciousness. The moment i realised that 'Max' itself is the elusive ego was the moment my mind was blown. But i know this is not enlightenment yet. It might be a great pointer that i'm in the right direction but i still have alot ego related issues to deal with. I only watched the first couple of minutes of this video. But when you pointed it out i was absolutely sure that i'm going the right way. I'm really curious which this all leads to and i bet the rest of the contest in this video will help alot like always! Thanks Leo!
Good vid Leo. I find when I make progress with actualization I always tend to get physically sick/ stressed. It's almost like the ego is sabotaging my progress.
omg, I was just journaling about this issue when my mind came: hey, today's Sunday, let's check Leo's new video! Just the title came like a punch in my face, thanks!
Hey Leo. I'm 23 years old and have been watching your videos for about 3 years now. It's been mind blowing to say the least. I really want to consistently get into mediation but am very puzzled on where to begin. Do I go to some place that does meditation classes? Do I do it by myself? Is there a group of Leo fans that have meditating sessions together? Would love some guidance here!
Cameron Platt, what's up mate, I used Inner engineering's meditation techniques to start. RUclips Sadhguru meditation. Alternative is to just sit and observe your frustration at your minds compulsive narration.
I just did this course and can highly recommend it, its free and well put together unifiedmindfulness.com/core Its based around the 5 ways to know yourself system by Shinzen Young. You can find the PDF here: www.shinzen.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/FiveWaystoKnowYourself_ver1.6.pdf
Video for "just do it!" i have a teacher/ trainer, many great people like yourself, i understand what you are speaking about. This is atleast my second time watchingvthis whole video. Im a decent listener. I keep falling back, or never starting up again.
Leo I really like your videos and some of them really helped me and I understand where are you going with this video and this topic but I love games, working out, having fun with hot girls and looking forward to my hopefully good job when I finish collage and if I'm distracted living a great healthy and fun life I will take my chances. :)
I don't think you understand where Leo is going with this video and this topic, although you said you did. Because you still think you are a person, an I that is longing for all the activities you mentioned. An I that inevitably only wants the good stuff: hot girls, good jobs, great health and fun, and shuns the opposites. As in any dream. So, wake up. All Leo does is giving you a wake up call.
I have slowly become aware that each time I get back on track I am more "awakened". Each time I bring myself back I go even deeper.I feel like I am playing a game everday. Doing anything but being feels fake to me (well fakein the sense that I am denying that I want bliss). But if I want to stay alive long enough to find the Truth i need work to make money to buy food. Thanks again!
Throughout my meditation process I found that distractions are like trains of thought. You have to ride the trains to move, well, anywhere. You might be moving in a completely wrong direction, but as long as you're aware, eventually you'll make out a map of the place, and pinpoint the hidden treasure of awakening. Of course, it's easier said than done. The map's probably immense and filled with illusions.
"I only found you when searching for distractions on RUclips. How do I know you are not just another distraction.",,, is what I would have said before I watched this. Now.... Um.
Once again Leo, your video comes at the right time. I have been putting alot of time and effort in my new website business lately. The whole point of starting the website is so I can travel and meet enlightened people and visit ancient ruins all while still being able to carry my work with me. So the whole point is to further my lifestyle toward one of seeking enlightenment with freedom. It takes alot in the beginning to get it started and right now I have to work a full time job and then devote all my off time to my internet business. I've been struggling with the question of am I letting my spirituality slip too much because of this thing? Is this too much of a distraction. My answer I came up with was that it is worth it. Because like you said, it will most likely take years. It's all about how can I assist myself to further my improve my process during those years for me. As always, thankyou Leo. Video liked. 👍
How does your brain interact with mine if there's no you and me? You can't deny the self, it's part of the survival instinct. Humans are self-aware because of an evolutionary side effect of the brain. We have to think in order to survive, it's inevitable. Why do you claim to be sebastian if there is no self?
I know. My point is that in an environment where there are trillions of organisms competing for survival, the self is an artifact of nature for the conservation of species. Without that, an organism can't adapt to the environment and escape the dangers, so he would not survive.
Yeah I'm still having a little trouble with that" I tell myself I don't have an ego but far as what you pointed out?, I still got a lot of learning to do, thanks for the reminder I'll work on it a little more better.
I'm watching this video becouse my ego was looking for distraction from the actual work.

I am a master of distraction.. sadly . Your awareness and insight is both scary and amazing. I think you were born to do this
I like the addition of distraction as a defense strategy. It's not normally listed with the others, but it's golden.
Grow up kiddo!
Ok so the very first thing i want to say is it's ok if Leo's video are not working for uh...uh do what uh want to do...and secondly where uh said that uh did meditation and it didn't work....I don't know what kind of meditation uh were practicising...i have myself meditated for just 2 to 3 min for a month or so and it has increased my consistency in the past....and plus plus plus I was even suffering from a mental disorder so it's not like meditation is for so called normal people...it's for everyone
And i have tried his self love video and it works...i had a worst self esteem and now within a month I am seeing positive changes even if I have mental disorders....
We spend all that time avoiding to get to know ourselves. We think we already know who we are.
You're spot on Leo! And yes I want and will become conscious..this is my #1 goal 😊
One of the most profound videos I've ever seen. Thank you Leo.

I was lead to your video today, and it completely changed my thinking. Not that I was asleep, I have made a part time job out of shadow work, understanding reality, and raising my vibration - and having some success. Your words were not new, but driven home in a very effective way. Thank you so much for this presentation.

Woah u right
That seemed like quite a short hour and four minutes...which I can only take as a good thing.

Hey Leo, my dear friend, after having meditated 20 years in a cave I tell you, you were on a good path but now got distracted by your own ontology. Enlightment is a distraction. But eventually you will realize that everything is, can be, and is not a distraction. Not that it matters what I just said.

Thank you Leo, I am so happy of have found your channel 1 year ago. it is pure pure wisdom
I've listened to many, and no one explains things with the clarity, that you do. I wish to touch the soul, as well as you do in the future. Thank You
The hurricane in Disneyland metaphor may have been some of your worse timing ever Leo!
My deepest love and gratitude

This reminds me of Pema Chodron's book The Places That Scare You, which was very mind-shifting for me. Realizing that also the good and noble things in life are just distractions. But becoming aware is probably more than most people will actually do, so there's a great beauty in this realization. Thank you for a good video Leo.
Damn, my ego tells me enlightenment is also a distraction.
yup
meditation & enlightenment is a distraction - thinking you need to get somewhere, to some state, distracting yourself with a ‘journey’
The journey to enlightment is not a joke my friend..in the bible..Jesus said if you want to follow me deny yourself/ego three times...
Exactly. Mundane things are mundane. But this guy Will lead you to become nihilistic. 90% of things are a distraction. Social media, pursuing a career, money, sex... IF you are doing it for validation or some other stupid goal. But if you are chasing money to provide for your family or help the poor then i dont see anything wrong with it
I quote you:
"Enlightenment is a state of mind, a feeling"
"...people should strive to have a healthy mind by having control over the subconscious, while simultaneously doing the best they can to improve society..."
Enlightenment is NOT a feeling because feelings come and go.
THIS IS THE DISTRACTION
Thank you for being my weekly dose of intellictually stimulating conversation. The "how will this information change my behavior" concept from a few videos ago has really been a game changer in how i think about and apply all the knowledge and info that i read/hear/watch. #thestruggleisreal when it comes to cycles of backsliding from self-actualization. Wow yes the main distractions are the biggest ( most important stuff we are SUPPOSED to focus on) your communication skills are off the top I love listening to you I thoroughly thoroughly enjoy listening to your voice.
"You're taking a shit you should be mindful"
I've just realised that now I can hear when You're smiling Leo. Mostly listening to You when I'm working, not looking at You just listening, and that's really nice I can hear You smiling.
Is it possible to have an awakening without realizing it?
Probaly not.
the people who have awakened without realizing it can't answer you, so it's a tough question
So my questions to you are:
Just Cut the garbage Out of Life and then See what Life becomes or what Happens...that is the purpose of Life!
You feel empty, cuz your soul is lost, you need religion, religion is the food of soul, you need to believe

Can you make video about dealing with low consciousness people?
WSEize yes! That's a great idea
If you need to "deal" with low consciousness people than you are a low consciousness person.
Guess what, then you are dealing right now.
WSEize yup
seth chizmar that’s church for sure, because you don’t really view people in any light or with any extremely strong bias, or least I hadn’t, when I was following the work
I got really aware of this distraction thing during last meditation.
Just got distracted by this video.
Yeah.. So the biggest distraction is:
Becoming more conscious by watching RUclips-Videos?
ive spend huge amount of time on youtube, feel kinda addicted..
its instant gratification. kinda tricky if you think about it. Its influence to desire for information my man. anything can be an addiction if you let the pattern cross over and close off.

I got distracted by your comment, while I was being distracted by the video.
I think this is such a good slap-in-the-face wake up call for when you're in a rut, or to regain your sanity, to work for a positive future.
Hey Leo, are you uploading today? I've been waiting all day!
Awh man how I love your content.

I didn’t realize how much God plays a role in transcending our ego - God is not an easy topic for some. Powerful stuff Leo -

I bow to your transparency and your willingness to not be a label of guru!
Hey Leo. Hope you are okay.
Maybee you want to look into the content of Teal Swan. For example about fragmetation or feeling emotions.
Icebreaker's Prey teal swan is a really confused person tho
great:) I doesn't always has to be a break in your identity, but it sounds you exiled some of your feelings.

Great work Leo. You already have given so many keys that you could quit right now with no single remorse.

Isn't pursuing enlightenment a distraction?
Daniel Bezman if it’s a extremely high conscious activity how could it be a distraction from truth when truth is extremely high consciousness?
@@victorburkhart2334 fundamentally speaking there is no "Truth" only what we perceive to be truth. In that regard how do we know what's really a distraction and what were really supposed to focus on?
It can be, you're right. It can become a distraction from the real truth behind your uncomfortable emotions. Anything wrongly used can be distraction from the real deal. Many people chase enlightenment as a result of suffering and to escape it. This is understandable but ultimately we must heed to the truth behind our emotions and suffering to reach it not distract from them.

Is everything ok??
i've figured out some weeks ago that 'Max' is the ego.
I'm really curious which this all leads to and i bet the rest of the contest in this video will help alot like always!

omg, I was just journaling about this issue when my mind came: hey, today's Sunday, let's check Leo's new video! Just the title came like a punch in my face, thanks!
Where are you
An equation is only complete when it is beautiful and it is!! It so is!! Beautiful!! Thank you!!
Alternative is to just sit and observe your frustration at your minds compulsive narration.
the videos from the last 3 years, which you should have watched, will answer your question very well.
I haven't watched every video Leo has made. Maybe I need to!
I just did this course and can highly recommend it, its free and well put together

Its based around the 5 ways to know yourself system by Shinzen Young. You can find the PDF here:

Wow I'm amazed at how helpful everyone is! I need friends like you guys. Other actualizing people!
Thank you for uploading these videos.
the epiphany is i'm literally getting distracted while watching this video.
Is Leo ok
Becoming aware of the stupidity of others makes you anxious because you have to deal with them in your entire life...
How does your brain interact with mine if there's no you and me? You can't deny the self, it's part of the survival instinct. Humans are self-aware because of an evolutionary side effect of the brain. We have to think in order to survive, it's inevitable. Why do you claim to be sebastian if there is no self?
Lucky Rowlands Who is the thinker of a thought?
Thoughts are neuronal impulses formed in an animal/human brain. The living organism with a brain who's aware of thinking is the thinker.
Lucky Rowlands Thinker is another thought 😆
I know. My point is that in an environment where there are trillions of organisms competing for survival, the self is an artifact of nature for the conservation of species. Without that, an organism can't adapt to the environment and escape the dangers, so he would not survive.
Yeah I'm still having a little trouble with that" I tell myself I don't have an ego but far as what you pointed out?, I still got a lot of learning to do, thanks for the reminder I'll work on it a little more better.
simply do not get attached to anything and live life
This is one of your best videos I've seen in a while Leo
