@@SauvageHomme I met him in the 90s a friend of played drums on his record, and when i went to look him up on RUclips and saw this video which was done at a local Phoenix music store, that i recognizing and brought back memories
Damn, the memories! In 1995, I was 15 years old and taking lessons from Scott at Boogie Music. Most of the lessons were just watching him play, and I had him transcribe his solos. I wish I had paid more attention and practiced harder, but I didn't really know what I was doing at the time. x_x
Because he was stared on the same compilation as them in the early 90's in fact, guitarist on the edge. RUclips made the world sort of "ready" for them. While before except "hiding" or finding "refuge" in Japan (isn't it Paul Gilbert/JonFinn and countless others??), the 90's were a shitty time to survive, thanks to guitar technique magazine to offer a wonderful column to Guthrie Govan where, alongside another amazing british guitar player : Shawn Baxter, he could share his science (and still does) of the guitar (specially his immense knowledge of blues phrasing)
Because maybe you were too young in 1992 for the "Guitarist on the Edge" compilation where you could find/discover/hear insane guys like Holdsworth, Shawn Lane, Scott Mishoe, Duane, Housholder, Verheyen, Greg Howe (his 4 track demo of direct injection are still my favorite track to test drive high end headphone i want to buy) etc etc and of course your very own Guthrie Govan !! But no worries, i was dead young too, i was introduced to these jewel thanks to a friend of my sis' who practiced guitar heavily at this time, in 2005 when i finally got the virus he gave me all his guitar techniques magazine, guitarist on the edge, the alchemist and other very hard to find jewel of this tough period for our fav' player but how productive.
Thank you Guthrie for introducing me to this insanity!

Guthrie brought me here too lol. He knows lots of players out there that are amazing and not recognized. I think it's great that he mentions them.

Some of it was a bit sloppy, but for the most part it was awesome. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not musical.

@ZOMBIELANDakaUSA Take your anger and self-loathing out on someone else, it was a joke.
I think you bought the wrong type of guitar... You were supposed to get the big one, it's called a bass.
