What is really nice about Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1, Windows 8 or even Windows 7 sp1 is that it lets you keep and save all of your apps and personal files that existed in your previous Windows before your upgrade to Windows 10. No need to re-install apps/programs like Microsoft Office, iTunes or Firefox as examples.
Here's a few Side Notes:
1) The step by step instructions shown in my video will also work with any version of Windows 8.1 Home or Windows 8.1 Pro. These basic steps shown in my video will also work with Windows 10 Upgrade from Windows 8 as well.
2) I performed this Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1 laptop from ASUS using Oracle VirtualBox so I can test and review many different operating systems on my computer.
3) The Windows 10 upgrade process can take up to a good number of hours to complete depending on your Internet speed, how busy Microsoft download servers are when you start the Windows 10 upgrade, and the speed and performance of your laptop, desktop or tablet computer system.
4) You can upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10 but you must first upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 either with the automatic updates from Windows Update turned on or by doing a manual update to Windows 8.1.

Thanks for replying, Nick! You didn't answer my question about if the license is tied to just the motherboard, or all hardware? Meaning will I be able to install a new hard drive at a later date without it messing up my license?

You don't have to get a new key of u have a computer installed with a older version on Windows 10.

Video driver issue. You might have to start it up in safe mode F8 and install an update video driver. Google search how to go about doing these things.
If u were upgrading from windows 7 to 10 then that might have been the problem, this may only be meant for windows 8 or 8.1 to windows 10, you should be more carefull

product key is for checking if you are not pirating it
"shani dev" My understanding is that the product key is on the packaging in which the computer or tablet came. But I don't see any such number on the packaging. ONly the serial number and bar code number. You might also be able to find the product key if you click on "properties" or "PC Info" or that is way it is supposed to be but I only see a "product ID' not a "Product key"
I tried typing in the "Product ID": but the system says that it is not the right number and also the system rejects the number 0 and wont register it. Anyone know what is happening? It seems my tablet is set up so that you cannot switch to WIndows 10.

for me it took about 6 hours to get to 9 percent
If its the download speed it means your ethernet connection sucks
and if thats the installation process it means your pc is slow for windows 10 or its just not meant to be
and it depends on how fast your computers writing speed

+Clarence Robedillo i made sure there were no programs in the backround running that use wi-fi,i told eavryone in the house to stop using wi-fi,but it truns out that the cable for the internet is somehow damaged and thats why we have a slow interner connection,its so slow that it mgs v needed to dosnlosd for 6 days but i took my laptop to my grandmothers house and there it downloaded for 8 hours,then i transfered the files to my computer,i think ill do the same for windows 10,ill just downloaded on a usb on my laptop and then from the usb ill downloaded on to my pc,problem solved.😊

+Ben Ismu You can get this error for many reasons, unfortunately your system troubleshooting can not be accomplished here in video comments: Here are 2 suggestions: 1) try using a different Internet browser like Firefox or Chrome. 2) Do a RUclips and/or Google search with keywords : "error 0x80200011 Windows 10 upgrade" for further troubleshooting on your end.

When it says getting updates it freezes at 46%
On slower laptops or slow internet speeds it can take several hours and in some cases even overnight to complete. Suggest giving it more time to complete it's updates.
