FINDING YOUR PRODUCT KEY: I am receiving more on more comments regarding issues with the product keys, mostly in regards to Windows not allowing the upgrade to continue because the product key was not entered. This is new, and used to be able to be skipped, but I believe Microsoft may be trying to crack down on pirated copies of windows with potentially fake product keys. NOTE: I am only making the claim that this works if you have a valid product key for windows that you purchased, so I can make no claim that this works for pirated or otherwise illegally downloaded versions of windows. FREEZING AT 46% FIX: I understand that alot of people go through this, and you have to end a certain update process that windows loops on. Here is a fix I found when others were commenting about the same issue, look at the first reply post at the link below: tinyurl.com/y5nc4u34 If you want to try something easier first, I have heard from comments that simply closing the updates window, restarting Windows, and then starting the process again allows you to get past the 46% freeze. This hasn't worked for everyone, though! So, what I did was boot my desktop, on which I previously did the exact same conversion, and recorded the Windows 10 startup logo moments. This screen is what all Windows 10 boot screens look like, even for the initial startup. I wanted everyone to see that visual to know that this is what would be presented to them when they successfully upgraded. I would not have put this video up if I was not able to successfully make it work at least once. With enough free hard drive space, the majority of the comments demonstrate that this had worked for the majority of those who try it.
That’s strange. I have not come across that. Try checking for updates on your version of Windows eight and then restarting your computer and attempting the download again.
Are you logged into the account on your computer that has administrator access (the little blue and yellow shield icon shows up when trying to change administrator level settings)?
5/25/2021, pulled out my desktop from my attic which is a Windows 8 needed to upgrade it seamless process great instructions great video. You are to the point and very clear!! 🙏🏾
Pleased to say that my upgrade ran smoothly the whole way through. The old PC I upgraded has a 4 core i5 chip, and 6Gb RAM which may or may not be relevant. We’re lucky enough to have a fast 36Mb/sec broadband connection and the whole process took a painless 2 hours. No programmes or files or photos were lost in the process. I placed my iPad in front of the PC and watched a RUclips video whilst keeping an eye on the upgrade. I did have to ask it to download my printer driver, which it did flawlessly. Thank you TT for posting the information.
I’m so confused. My PC meets all the requirements for the update, but every time I try to install this it comes up with a message saying “could not install windows 10”. I always make it all the way through the process but at the very end it just doesn’t work. Any recommendations on what to do? Edit: I’ve tried to install it like 4 or 5 times now but nothing is working.
This really does work, trust me I’m a skeptic when it comes to things like this but I was totally surprised when my computer actually got windows 10. Also if your update gets stuck at 46% like mine did, close the window and restart your computer. Then just try again and it should go past the 46%. 10/10

Question: using 8.1 I do have nuf space and memory. HP Envy23. My other choice is using option 2 save image to USB. On your time line 6.07 after it's done cleaning it just disappears doesn't boot back up like yours did. I waited half an hour Any Advise.

When I’m at the last part where it says “pc may restart several times” it says restarting pc now but instead it shuts the pc down and when I turn it back on it loading and says “undoing changed made to your computer” Also it always gives me the option to update and it never works because it either shuts down or fails to finish update so I tried this and the pc shuts down instead of restarting (also there isn’t a ‘restart’ option there’s only a ‘restart and update’ option)
Are you currently using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1? Do you have an active version with a legitimate product key for Microsoft? It really seems like there’s something wrong with your current version of Windows, since when it tries to apply any updates, not just this one, it shuts down.
I only heard about that issue from him, I’m not sure if Nuix still has a problem because he didn’t reply to me. One of the reasons it reverts back is if you don’t have enough storage space. While it only needs 8 GB free, I would have at least 15 GB free as a buffer.
The screen in 9:43, during the download it seemed like it restarted, then a black screen was shown, it's been about 30 minutes, and still a black screen. Could anyone help me please? @@FaZeGPen it did somewhat but I ended up buying a whole new laptop later on becuase of the whole online school thing I just ended up upgrading. I rarely use my new laptop now since I graduated now haha. My old laptop was just too old I didn't think it would handle multiple tabs and windows apps open at the same time.

september 2020, it worked! it felt sus at first due to the monitor change at the end but i read the pinned comment and gave it a try, it took 3 hours to get everything done and it all works fine! thanks!

My windows 10 installation failed and then when I ran the tool again it said it couldn’t run the tool because of an unknown reason. I tried checking for updates manually through windows 8 but the setting was set to never check for updates. I tried to change the setting and it said I needed administrator powers to change the setting. I only have one user account and it’s the administrator. I tried a few techniques to give myself more administrator power and they all failed. I’ve now given up

Tutor Terrific, thank you for the tutorial! I had a successful upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Like so many I was stuck at 46% for 45mins to 1 hour. But just be patience. Then I have to leave it overnight for Windows 10 set-up. I 'm not sure how long it took. because it's was late and I went to bed. The next day when I woke up and check my computer, it's already complete with the Windows 10!

You need Internet access enabled throughout the entire process. The computer accesses the Internet several times after the initial file download is completed.
Bro can you give me more details when I pressed download now on the website it said There was a problem running this tool then it said “We’re not sure what happened, but we’re unable to run this tool on your PC. If you continue experiencing problems, reference the error code when contacting customer support.” I’m on a Windows 8 and I’m trying to upgrade as well but it’s just not letting me.
This is the best video I have seen on how to do this upgrade. I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on an older laptop (Dell 4200) with no problems. This is the only video where I learned that I already have a product code as Microsoft uses your existing license. EBAY is full of ads for a Windows 10 upgrade product code. I purchased one for another computer and followed the process provided by the vendor. It corrupted my SD drive and I lost all my data. Had to replace the drive. Well, i tried it and I got the windows 10 logo in but the loading circle underneath dosent appear and it's been like that for at least 7 hours now, should I just leave it overnight or is there a problem?

Here’s the problem, when I screen cast with Wondershare Fillmora 9, it actually records and plays back slightly slower than real time. It’s like a forced voice modulator.
@@TutorTerrific I interrupted the first attempt when my system seemed to get hung up at the 23 per cent mark of upgrades. My system reverted to windows 8.1 but I tried again and it finally installed and my game worked with the direct x of windows 10.
It is a game that requires Direct x 12 which is only bundled with Win 10, but it works fine. I do not see the difference between direct x11 and 12 but win 10 gives more security but less user control over the interfaces.
How long it take you? Yesterday I do it on 8pm until 11pm an it already at 8:56 progress. But unluckily it failed to install. I think my internet connection is bad yesterday but it's fine. I will do it again today.

I finished updating it buy it still shows as 8.1 and nothing changed. I can see the downloads are installed but I don’t think they kicked in.

HI! i was very close and everything was working smoothly but i have tje same product key problem and when i watched the tutorial video i got everything smoothly but when i copy and pasted it,it said "this product key didn't work.Please check it and try again,or try a different key" so if someone can help me or if u can assist me that would be highly appreciated.

My windows 10 installation failed and then when I ran the tool again it said it couldn’t run the tool because of an unknown reason. I tried checking for updates manually through windows 8 but the setting was set to never check for updates. I tried to change the setting and it said I needed administrator powers to change the setting. I only have one user account and it’s the administrator. I tried a few techniques to give myself more administrator power and they all failed. I’ve now given up

Why does my screen goes blank after installing the upgrade? I've been trying to restart it and still black screen.
I follow all the steps, it's stopped at Getting updates, 46% do have any suggestions on how can I complete my installation.

Yeah It didnt work for me, it took a whole day and it failed, I have windows 8 and I dont have anything else downloaded no pictures nada, only minecraft and one other game. Its a asus laptop like about ten year old laptop. I cant run my minecraft anymore because its not supported on windows 8 and when I try to upgrade my windows it just failed idk what I did wrong, help??
um mine gets to the download screen then just stops goes back to my homescreen and says "windows 10 installation failed"
Tutor Terrific, thank you for the tutorial! I had a successful upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Like so many I was stuck at 46% for 45mins to 1 hour. But just be patience. Then I have to leave it overnight for Windows 10 set-up. I 'm not sure how long it took. because it's was late and I went to bed. The next day when I woke up and check my computer, it's already complete with the Windows 10!

You need Internet access enabled throughout the entire process. The computer accesses the Internet several times after the initial file download is completed.

Bro can you give me more details when I pressed download now on the website it said There was a problem running this tool then it said “We’re not sure what happened, but we’re unable to run this tool on your PC. If you continue experiencing problems, reference the error code when contacting customer support.” I’m on a Windows 8 and I’m trying to upgrade as well but it’s just not letting me.

This is the best video I have seen on how to do this upgrade. I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on an older laptop (Dell 4200) with no problems. This is the only video where I learned that I already have a product code as Microsoft uses your existing license. EBAY is full of ads for a Windows 10 upgrade product code. I purchased one for another computer and followed the process provided by the vendor. It corrupted my SD drive and I lost all my data. Had to replace the drive. Thank you for putting up this excellent video.

Well, i tried it and I got the windows 10 logo in but the loading circle underneath dosent appear and it's been like that for at least 7 hours now, should I just leave it overnight or is there a problem?
7 HOURS? That’s a long time. Try to trigger a normal shut down by pressing the power button (don’t hold it down).

Here’s the problem, when I screen cast with Wondershare Fillmora 9, it actually records and plays back slightly slower than real time. It’s like a forced voice modulator.

@@TutorTerrific I interrupted the first attempt when my system seemed to get hung up at the 23 per cent mark of upgrades. My system reverted to windows 8.1 but I tried again and it finally installed and my game worked with the direct x of windows 10.

It is a game that requires Direct x 12 which is only bundled with Win 10, but it works fine. I do not see the difference between direct x11 and 12 but win 10 gives more security but less user control over the interfaces.

How long it take you? Yesterday I do it on 8pm until 11pm an it already at 8:56 progress. But unluckily it failed to install. I think my internet connection is bad yesterday but it's fine. I will do it again today.

After the “update this computer” step, I’m getting an error saying “this tool can’t update your pc” - “the language or edition of the version of windows currently installed on your pc isn’t supported by this tool”. I have windows 8.1. Any idea what I can do to fix this and be able to update to windows 10?

what about files in C drive already present?? will that replaced with windows 10 files like windows 8 in C drive taking 25-30 GB already so well those file get deleted ?
Your personal files in the C drive will be safe. There are new system files used to run Windows 10, but personal user files are not erased.
