  • I'm a new Kubota SVL75-3 Owner (Tracked Loader) and want to try and learn to do as much of the maintenance myself as possible. Once you have run the new machine 50 hours there is 50 Hour Maintenance and special Break-In 50 hour maintenance to do.
The special first 50 hour maintenance is to change the Hydraulic Oil filter or Hydraulic Fluid Filter. This shouldn't be too difficult... and well it wasn't too bad, but you'll see, nothing is ever easy.....
Total elapsed time in the 93F heat and super high humidity was about 3 hours. If I were to do it now, and once I have my new Oil Filter wrench and 24mm socket, I could probably do it in 30 minutes. Once you learn on how to raise and lower the cab, the hard part is over.
Even a rookie operator can do this. Watch and learn....
Equipment 2024 Kubota SVL75-3 Track Loader or Skid Steer (Skidsteer)
24MM Socket, 12MM Socket, adjustable crescent wrench or 24MM wrench
Oil Filter wrench, Kubota Hydraulic Filter, Kubota Hydraulic Fluid to refill lost fluid
Rags or paper towels for clean up.
Vacuum to clean cab before tilting it up
Check Window Washer Fluid Reservoir, probably needs to be less than 50% full or it will spill when lifting the cab

I have the same machine. After a year of clear our land with a chainsaw and 25hp Trackor my wife bought me the SVL 75-3. The nut size 24m. I am right behind you on my maintenance. Thanks for the channel. My wife gets on to me about safety glasses. Our land is southeast Alabama.

Thanks for commenting and confirming 24mm. I was blind as a bat as a kid and got LASIK in my 40’s. Now I’m 20/20 so eye sight is a hot topic for me. I wear safety glasses 99% of the time but it was so hot!! Tennessee isn’t as hot as Alabama but it is close. And that particular task was lower risk. If the filter was above my eyes I’d definitely wear them. Thanks for watching. Have a great time with the SVL75-3

Just found your channel and have truly enjoyed your content. We too are new 75-3 owners with similar property (Westen NC). The info presented here has been extremely helpful and look forward to more of your videos.

Thanks, if you have encountered problems you think I should share let me know. I only have a few hours in total operating this and rental machines so really I am going up the learning curve at a pretty steep rate. A lot of other channels assume viewers have more knowledge than I do, so I don't always understand what they are trying to explain. I have no problem displaying how ignorant I am, but I am willing to learn to reduce the ignorance.... hopefully you will find that helpful Thanks for commenting and watching. (P.S. - I tried commenting on this before, and your other comment, and looks like RUclips failed me, so hopefully this one posts....)

Thanks for the info. My 75-3 just hit 50 hours. Where did you get the idea to change the hydraulic filter? I do not see this in my manual. Thanks

      @ahbuildingafarm  4 дня назад

On my version of the manual the Hydraulic Filter is recommended to be changed (but not the hydraulic fluid) after the very first 50 hours, but only that first 50 hours and then every 500 (five Hundred) after that. For my manual that is on page 147 in the table Number 28 of the maintenance schedule
      Also my dealer told me.
And per my own decision I plan on changing the engine oil and the oil filter shortly (probably at 60 hours see page 119 Operation of Machine 1. Running-In Oil Change in the Run-in Stage) as I have heard that recommendation for all new engines, but I have not read that anywhere for Kubota, I will do the oil filter and full oil change just as a precaution.

Hmmm all of mine have been bolt on each side for tooth bar over the real cutting edge. I"ll look at my Kids new Kubota next week.

It looks like you can undo some bolts on the side and the entire edge and teeth come off. I do not think the bare edge is supposed to be used but perhaps I can buy a straight cutting edge. Would need to keep bolts well greased to make switching easier

Or I will watch for a straight edge bucket in local auctions

I couldn't tell if it is a tooth bar, as in one bolt on each end and all teeth come off on there own bar like a replaceable cutting edge.

I will check the bucket when I’m out there. I am pretty sure each individual tooth is bolted on. Not sure if that leaves me with a smooth cutting edge or just “an edge”

When you tested for leaks, how did you get the quick attach plate to rotate/spin like that? Is that a standard feature or did you add something to your 75-3?

I have several videos on the attachment. It’s a Kubota Lamd Pride TH35 Tilt Hitch
Kubota Land Pride TH35 Tilt Hitch is great for grading, but perhaps I am not I need more practice

And now that I have used that tilt hitch (I call it a tilt plate a lot) I think for what I am doing it is worth it's weight in gold. I was using it all day cutting / clearing a logging path that was very slanted with zero room to turn around. I was easily able to regrade (change the slope) that a dozer blade would not have been able too since it can't pick up material and move it in the same way a bucket can. Unfortunately I didn't film it, but I have a lot more similar work to do, which I will film. Thanks again for asking questions and commenting.

I think an operator with skills and experience in an open area that is at least 1.5 to 2x the size of the machine can probably live without it. I am a rookie, and I want the trails to stay narrow (6ft) so this tilt really makes it easy to set the grade. I hope that helps you understand. I hope to show more in upcoming videos. My understanding is the experienced operator gets the grade set under the tracks and then proceeds from there. However that may require to dig perpendicular to the direction you want the trail to be going in. I don't have room to dig sideways. And sometimes to slope needs to quickly shift from the left side being high to the left side being low due to hill changes. I just don't know how else to do it without making the trail 12ft wide or more, or using a tilt hitch. There are other manufactures out there, but I decided to stay with Land Pride. I found mostly bad feedback on most other suppliers. Do your research and come to a decision, but for me the Land Pride seemed like best option for me at this time. Hope this helps you with your work.
