Yes sir I have a BX 2360 and I’m losing hydraulic fluid I’m not sure where it’s coming from it’s not coming from a knuckle I do know that I believe it’s coming from a Power steering on can you show me how to replace or do you have a video on how to replace a power steering line on a BX 2360 and I am a new subscriber to your channel
THANK YOU!!!! I have searched for six months looking exactly for what you have presented. I'd needed to know where the HST screen thing was, since that seems to be my problem.
I purchased a primary filter relocation kit off of Ebay for that under the seat filter and so far I have been reluctant to install it, now I feel more comfortable to do it because now i know where the damn thing is.
Great video, thanks. Just getting ready to do my 50 hour service on my BX2680. I think I have everything I need to do the service, but I may need to pickup another jug of UDT-2 fluid as I only have 1 jug of it and I believe the hydraulic system requires about 3 gallons. I'll stick to the UDT-2 in the front axle for now as well while its under warranty. Not sure if the gear oil would be too thick in cold conditions so I'll stick with the thinner oil for that reason.
Great video and info. I was not aware the coolant had to be changed. My BX is 6 years old. Manual says to change every 2 years. I have just over 100 hours. My manual says to drain the coolant, run some cleaner through, drain and replace with coolant. I can't see how to get to the drain plug or the lower hose. Did you run cleaner through the cooling system? Is it really important to do that?
OVER ALL A GREAT VIDEO, THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME. ONE QUES. ON COOLANT RE-FILL, IF DRAINED AT RADIATOR. YOU SHOW REFILL IN OVER FLOW TANK ONLY, NOT RADIATOR FIRST. GOOD CHANCE TO DAMAGE SOMETHINGS AND WOULD LIKELY TAKE SEVERAL HOT/COLD CYCLES TO RE-FILL COMPLETE.
Great tutorial but you missed one thing. There's a large bolt towards the rear of the side fuel filter that gets removed to drain most of the coolant from the block. Every bit helps.
Great job! My local Kubota Dealer (friend of the family) told my father that their is no need to change the UDT unless it starts to turn Milky. Can I change my Filter and check Screen without draining? Thx.
You can but you're going to lose at least a couple quarts checking both. At that point, you may as well just change out the fluid. You can run old fluid but it looses all the viscosity and the metals needed to keep the HST pistons lubricated. If you wait until it's milky, you've already damaged the pump.
@@Trialnerror Im looking at purchasing a used BX2200. I wanted to check the screen without having to provide the seller with aa few new gallons of UDT. LOL
I have a BX2680. What radiator fluid do you use? Do you drain the radiator and the block? My dealer indicates that they use Zerex Original Green and they do not sell the Kubota Genuine Coolant. However, I cannot resolve whether the Zerex meets the same standards as the Kubota coolant. I called Kubota but they do not have a clue. Interested in your thoughts and experience. To order the Kubota coolant costs more for shipping than coolant. Thanks BTW your RUclips video is outstanding.
Just finished watching your video I just bought a Kubota BX 2360 with 400 hours on it and want to do a full service on it, this video help me out a lot. Also how many Liters of oil and trans/hydraulic fluid does it take thank you.
Congrats on the new toy and thank you for the thank you! I don't remember the exact amounts but I want to say oil was 3.5qt and a complete flush of the HST was close to two gallons but I could be off a bit.
Thanks for quick response, broke down and bought breaker bar which did the trick in about 5 seconds. Thanks again for this video! Just completed second service on my bx2380 with this video playing in background (music not that bad lol)!
thank you for all the information , is there a substitute for the transmission oil instead getting it from dealer, like ams oil. what are the specs that i would look for in a different oil. thanks
Thanks for all the great help! I did notice the engine oil "appears" to be a standard SAE 10W30 but not specifically for diesels, am I seeing this correctly? Is it safe to use conventional motor oil such as Mobil 1 10W30?
I've always run it with no problems but I'm sure there are purists out there that will point out some unlikely scenario where it's a problem. This is the internet after all :)
Hi, I have a 2380 and wondering what should I do for the 100h service, the app (manual) said u only need to check things up but for some reasone doesn’t make sense for me, any idea “help “ Thank you
Hey I just did the HST fluid on my bx23s and put in 3 full gallons and still nothing on my dipstick. Made sure all plugs on tight. Will buy another gallon but should I be concerned ? Thanks again !
Trial N' Error is that one of those little wrenches you can turn way down? I have a whole range of them and anything but the smallest couple I’d be afraid of destroying the threads or knocking the little spot welded insert on the inside of the pan loose.. (never saw the inside of this pan but numerous automotive pans I’ve ever seen are made like this).. personally I like to at least “feel” with a hand tool if I’m getting it tight enough without overtightening. Overall a great video, best one I’ve found on this subject and I don’t want to sound like it’s not appreciated. Especially the hydro fluid change. Thank you for putting it up!
THANK U THANK U THANK U.....i tried to use the manual.....very confusing, after all guys dont need instructions right ? This video saved me alot of headache ....Very nice job on this.
Great video and clear tutorial. I really appreciate the effort. Once again, I learned something new, and some things that I have been neglecting to do properly. Thank you so much!
Hey it’s me again lol I just wanted to say and point out on the Dual fuel filter change. I have a factory service manual I bought thru the kubota dealer And on my older BX2200 the manual points out how the fuel system needs to be bled after yada yada but doesn’t say to break the bolt loose ! it simply says turn key and let pump run for 30 seconds and turn key back to off then start ?? I was like ...WHAT ?! But it worked !? I’m old school and I “like you did” would of purged the system Like any diesel in the past ... just wonder if it’s something kubota simplified only on their Diesel engines ? ... head scratchin lol
Great video. BUT, You do not have to bleed the air from the fuel lines on the Kubota BX series. I own a 2011 bx 2360. I blead the lines for three four years when servicing. Then I found in the owners manual that says turn the key on for five seconds and turn it off. Turn the key back on and start the kubota. Never had any trouble from my little tractor.
It will always start, in fact you prob don't need to even cycle the key. The issue is that you want to stop air from entering your crazy expensive high pressure fuel pump. Air = Friction, friction = Wear and wear = $$$$ when it doesn't build pressure anymore. I don't do it for the quick start, I do it to make sure the pump lasts as long as possible.
@@Trialnerror thanks you too. one question on the fuel filter. When you clamp off the line coming from the fuel tank, do you have your vice grips right on the tube, or did you just close the clip all the way ? The HST change forced me to actually remove my backhoe - which is a good thing anyway so I don't back my sweet backhoe into my living room windows for the next 5 months !
@@jeffkluth2201 LOL on the backhoe, but yes you need to clap the center of the rubber line. May want to put a towel between the vice grips and the hose to protect it but squeeze it good to stop the flow! Good luck man!
Hi, I have a a B7 100 Kubota with a front loader that seems to have a separate reservoir for hydraulic oil. I am having a hard time finding videos for the B7 100. Do you guys happen to have any videos for that specific tractor?
Thank you much for this video Even after I’ve done a lot of the maintenance to my BX2200 it was nice to see a bit more to learn 👍 Thankfully I have a Kubota dealer in my county 😁 as I do not like buying off brand or “this will work” maintenance products Because there’s a reason manufacturers put their name on lubricants Which is probably why my power steering cylinder weeps cuz the previous owner didn’t use kubota brand !
I just did the 50 hour service my dealer told me i only needed to change the filter on my hydralic fluid then top it off after.. Is it that true ? .. I completely replaced the fluid and cleand the screen ECT because it seemed the right thing to do but they were supposed to cover all of the cost of the fluid and filters to do my first service.. I also changed the front end fluid and replaced it with lucas 80-90 gear oil .. Wich they said was not part of what was needed either but it seems to me that on a brand new machine one would change every fluid and filter at 50 hrs except maybe the fuel filters and coolant .. Wich is what I did . ?
Yes, they changed the service protocol and I actually don't disagree with the new one. The HST fluid is fine for the first 100hrs IMO. Then every 200hrs thereafter. Engine oil and filter must be done no later than the first 50hrs though! You did exactly what I did when my machine hit it's first 50hrs. 600hrs and 8 problem free years later I'd say it's money well spent. Getting all the highly contaminated initial fluids changed out quickly is never a bad thing. Have fun putting on the future hours!
Hey great video ! Thanks I'll give it a try next week for the first time, I'm sure with you step by step I'll be ok. I have a bx23s with a backhoe, I'll remove it (the backhoe) to do the work but that will mean leave "old" oil in the cylinders, will that be a problem ? I have some experience for something similar in my bike and car when changing brake fluid for the abs pump, and it has to be kind of done twice to remove it all, but I guess this is not that delicate.?
@@2002van I have a BX23S and getting ready to change hyrdro so have same question but didn't see any reply. So did you not worry about the fluid in the backhoe lines or change the fluid twice?
@@mitrekab833 Hi I don't know where his reply went 🤔 , basically he said , don't worry about it. The amount of "old" oil is not that much so is not worth flushing it twice. Hope it help
Awesome video, thanks. I am strongly considering a Kubota BX1880 and have a couple of quick questions: I could not see it very well but you mentioned a skid plate on the hst and wanted to know if it's substantial enough to guard the hydro filter & fan? I've seen other brands that have had issues with limbs, etc. actually breaking the filters off which resulted in the mfg. (Massey GC for one) to design a better guard. Also wanted to know where you got the rear tire lifts to raise the rear which aided in the hydro servicing. Thanks in advance.
this is probably the finest video I have found for servicing the BX. Thank you for taking the time to make it sir! As a side note, I was so worried about the fan, filter and other important sundry parts being damaged or bifurcated on my heavily wooded lot that I bought under-armour from Bxpanded. I will never use the mmm so it works out perfectly. It attaches to the MMM points and takes 30 seconds to remove for servicing.
I'm trying to change the coolant in a BX2370 for the first time. The manual shows a drain valve to use, but it's behind a rad hose etc, I can't figure out how to get at it.. You mentioned you just pulled the lower rad hose off to drain. Does this do a complete drain? Did you have to release a hose clamp to get the hose off? That seems really awkward too on mine. I'm a neophyte, never changed the fluid on a car either, or on my air-cooled bikes. :-)
If the tractor has a front end brush guard/grill guard and/or front ballast weights, those have to come off too before the engine cover can be removed.
One significant step in this video is missing. You must be careful to work the UDT HT fluid into the Hydraulics components very gradually and completely before driving and operating the hydraulics. To see this please refer to Biff's video on the complete hydraulic servicing of BX

And on my older BX2200 the manual points out how the fuel system needs to be bled after yada yada but doesn’t say to break the bolt loose ! it simply says turn key and let pump run for 30 seconds and turn key back to off then start ?? I was like ...WHAT ?!
But it worked !? I’m old school and I “like you did” would of purged the system Like any diesel in the past ... just wonder if it’s something kubota simplified only on their Diesel engines ? ... head scratchin lol
Filters are tight and difficult to remove the first time because the factory assembles them dry.
Great video!👍🏻
Great ! Thanks so much , this was very well done for a layman like myself, much appreciated
Glad it helped! Have a great day brother!
I added this video two my favourites within the first 10 seconds
Great video! Very thorough, 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks, Good video.
Your voice sounds just like Tom Hanks ✌🏾
Can you confirm the part number on the safety air filter? Seems a lot of people have asked this question, but I don’t see an answer. Thanks
Hi, I have a a B7 100 Kubota with a front loader that seems to have a separate reservoir for hydraulic oil. I am having a hard time finding videos for the B7 100. Do you guys happen to have any videos for that specific tractor?
Thank you much for this video
Even after I’ve done a lot of the maintenance to my BX2200 it was nice to see a bit more to learn 👍
Thankfully I have a Kubota dealer in my county 😁 as I do not like buying off brand or “this will work” maintenance products
Because there’s a reason manufacturers put their name on lubricants
Which is probably why my power steering cylinder weeps cuz the previous owner didn’t use kubota brand !
Thank you for taking the time to thank me :) It's great to know the time spent putting these videos together actually help people. I appreciate it.
Great video. Thanks!
Changing the HST Fluid with only 100 hrs?
Hey great video ! Thanks
I'll give it a try next week for the first time, I'm sure with you step by step I'll be ok.
@@Trialnerror
Thanks for your reply! Ok that is good to know.
I did everything last week and it went great.
@@2002van I have a BX23S and getting ready to change hyrdro so have same question but didn't see any reply. So did you not worry about the fluid in the backhoe lines or change the fluid twice?
@@mitrekab833 Hi
I don't know where his reply went 🤔 , basically he said , don't worry about it.
The amount of "old" oil is not that much so is not worth flushing it twice.
Hope it help
Did you see the dent in the FEL ram as you were cleaning the inner air filter, it looks like the ram isn't solid steel.
@@Trialnerror That's good news, I'd hate to think what price Kubota could come up with for a new ram.
Which is better Kubota super UDT 2 hydraulic fluid or the kubota premium UDT hydraulic fluid? Thanks mate 👍
Super UDT2 is the best!
Better the 2nd time!!
Thanks!!
I have a BX2230. Is this the same procedure for my tractor too?
Yes sir! BTW, Did you spread your cheeks and not tell Ricky until he was on his deathbed?
@@Trialnerror ...yeah man, I did a full spread for playgirl magazine. I mean full spread, I pulled my butt apart and stuff.
It attaches to the MMM points and takes 30 seconds to remove for servicing.
love the happy Gilmore reference at ~13:30. helpful video. Thanks.
Fantastic video- Thanks so much. very well done.
Glad you enjoyed it and I hope it helps you. Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing!
Good video. Wal-Mart has an oil funnel with a screen and clear tube.
@@Trialnerror it's all good lol. I just found a funnel at Napa yesterday with a flex spout, so probably better than the funnel in my first comment
Excellent video ! very well done ! Thank You will help !
Thanks so much for this video- you saved me alot of money and time👍
If the tractor has a front end brush guard/grill guard and/or front ballast weights, those have to come off too before the engine cover can be removed.
good video thank you brother
Great job.
Thanks for watching!
One significant step in this video is missing. You must be careful to work the UDT HT fluid into the Hydraulics components very gradually and completely before driving and operating the hydraulics. To see this please refer to Biff's video on the complete hydraulic servicing of BX
Very good!! Thank YOU
Very Nice! really appreciate the effort.
Very good. going to save this video for future use. Thanks for the video.
