My sister's father-in-law pulled into the yard and said he had an oil leak after changing his oil. I pulled off the oil filter and found two sealing gaskets. Removed one and put the filter back on and the leak went away.
What I was told by my dealer all cats skid steer have the same engines they are just tuned differently I could be wrong but this was the info told by my dealer
Great video as always. 2 questions, my e42r2 says 750 hours for oil change. That just seems way too long. Would you recommend sooner? Also mine didn’t come with a rear camera but I would like one. Is the wiring already there? Can I just buy the camera and cable and put it in? If so do you know the part number?
@@Zerokey789750hrs is insane for a little 2.4L engine that holds just 2.5 gallons of oil. 750hrs is approaching the interval used in big 15L engines in road tractors and big heavy equipment that holds 10 gallons of oil or more. I personally still think 500 is excessive in these small engines. I think 750hrs is prescribed based on the 2000hr warranty period which is all Bobcat cares about. If you only keep your machine 2000hrs then 750 is fine. 99% chance it makes it there. But if you bought used and want it to last longer, or you still sell it by 2000 but want to help the next owner out, do it at half that. 350, or 500 max. The EGR system is not conducive to long oil change intervals.
Just curious if you know off the top of your head if the first 250 hour maintenance on a 2019 T595 requires a final drive oil change. That’s crazy that oil looks so dark after 500 hours. Are there clutches in there? Parking brake?
The access plate is way to small to get to the drain plug,,,,,,cat needs the owner operator at the plant to show what we need ,,,,,,not the collage boys fresh out of school first job,,,,,,R and D at caterpillar😁
Have you ever experienced a final drive that won’t accept the entire volume of gear oil specified by the manufacturer? I have a 259 that has one final drive that will overflow at about 5/8 -3/4 of a quart despite being completely drained.
@@rossh1152 i can’t answer that but I was a tech at a cat dealer for 6 years I changed a lot of final drive oil and I never had one take more than a little more than half a bottle. Cat says .6 quarts per side. I usually just put .5 quarts in each side so I didn’t have to charge the customer for 2 bottles of oil
Thanks !
Just got a new 239D3 this week.
I'm learning everything I can.
Hard to find many vids on 239s .
Different engine.
This is by far the best and easiest way to do it video I’ve seen for a 259D3. Thank you so much!!
Best 259 service video I’ve seen so far. Thanks!
I am quite shocked how bad the placement of filters on a Cat is.
Have a 262D this was super helpful ..
I love how they made the new 259 D3 loader frame with gussets on the loader frame hello cat
Buen video, gracias por la demostración de mantenimiento.
I wanna watch try and replace a crankcase filter on one of those
Another great video sir, thanks again very informative

GREAT VIDEO my friend!!
Thank you very much!
How much did all that cost. Thinking about getting this machine. Great video too
Overall it looked pretty smooth, but I’m not liking the engine oil filter orientation..
What did you use to help the oil run off into the pan for the final drive?
Thanks for the video. Would you know if the 'wheeled' cat skid-steer has the same final drive oil requirements?
What I was told by my dealer all cats skid steer have the same engines they are just tuned differently I could be wrong but this was the info told by my dealer
I didn’t know you could work on anything that wasn’t a bobcat 🤣😎😂
Do you know if it would be same process for the 262 D3 wheel version?
Servicing bobcat equipment is so much better than cat.We used to have cat equipment and they were nothing but a pain
I always install dry and then let it soak until it’s full
Great job thnk's master.

Lmk if you find an answer for this would love to add it to ours

The hydraulic filter isn’t required until a 1000 HR PM. But you forgot to do the crack case breather filter.
I change mine at 500 then every 1000hrs. after that. Gets all the left over boring bar shavings out early!🤣🤣👍👍
Can you list part numbers.

It always comes out dark and it stinks and usually u change it at 500 hours and there’s only gears in there

They are only supposed to hold about .6 quarts per side so that’s about right
@@dylantriller962 the other side takes the whole quart though before it overflows out of the center though?

@@dylantriller962 thanks for the input. I’ll double check my volumes. I thought it was supposed to accept the entire bottle.
Should say how to tilt the cab first
Can u take me to your factory ❤❤❤
👍
Oil and Hydraulic filter is a pain in the butt..
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Come on Cat. You can do better. Design your filter placement with a working man in mind.
