Super super underrated country! Would love to visit once the pandemic is over!
Right!!! Would 100% recommend!
Well come!
Hi guys!!
I've been living in London for 8 years now, grew up in Italy but my parents are from Serbia.
Used to go there every year as a child, haven't been back in almost 4 years.😫
Been watching your videos during lock down and I am feeling so nostalgic!
Can't wait to go back!
Just wanted to say a massing thank you for what you are doing and the amazing way you are showing my beautiful country to the world!
Sending lots of love!
Stay safe! ❤
Thanks for sharing!! Not long and hopefully things can go back to normal!
Love your Belgrade videos!
I have visited the city once during summer and it was amazing. You should definately go back there in a warmer season.
Such a vibrant and unique European city. I honestly cannot compare it to any other European capital. Nice to see more and more tourists exploring it.
I am really jealous, being Serbian Irish and not being able to go abroad for now. But I am glad you are having fun in Belgrade. Go explore Serbia, experiencing Belgrade is like seeing London only in UK. Go to Novi Sad, the second city there, it is different. But please go and visit south of Serbia, area 50 miles along the border with Montenegro, also east along Danube. I see you visited Albanija, another gem in Balkans, interested in seeing your experiences with rural Serbia.
Love the videos! You're very well informed about everything, and your pronunciation is actually great. Can't wait for more videos of my beautiful country, keep up the good work guys! 😊
Aww thank you so much! We have tried hard with the pronunciation! So many more to come x
Lets just take a secound to proces that you two guys ate a KILO of suits, thats like 2.2 pounds. You guys are the real one. Love from SERBIA
AHHAAH! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Such a fun video! Belgrade is a place that haven't really heard of but looks awesome
Would definitely recommend!
Yeah its definitely better than Istanbul
that ratluk is made out of a flower specifically from rose ppl mostly eat it with morning coffe and its really good
Loved the video.. you have filmed exactly what we wished to watch- the shops, the food, streets in Belgrade..specially in central areas..Thanks very much..
Thanks for watching!
Great video guys, wow Matt that burger was insane but looked so good, thanks for showing all these amazing finds x
Thanks for watching! 😍
@@dabbleandtravel I am addicted lol
It really shows in your video that you are having a lot of fun. 😆 I'm happy for you guys.👍 Cheers and stay safe.
We sure do!! Thank you!
Love from Adeel Karachi Pakistan.God bless you and your family
Thank you!
Thank you guys for such a beautiful videos from Serbia , its a pity that the weather was not good (usually in spring time the weather is marvelous) and that you hit stupid lockdown ! Wish you all the best on your next journey
Hi from Serbia❤🇷🇸
Hey! ❤️
Thanks guys, nice video
Serbia is great country, friendly people, beautiful smart womens, great food
Thanks for watching!!
The prices are normally for a kilo of produce, but if it's something expensive - like, over 1000 dinars, then the price is for 100 grams. The man didn't know the word "rose" in English , so he said "flower" instead, meaning the flavour of the Turkish delight. The other flavour was "nut" and the price was for a kilo.
I am so glad I found your channel. We are from Amsterdam and brought our cat to Belgrade to "escape" lockdown! Found more places to adventure when this weather clears! ✈🐈 Looking forward to checking out the other videos! 🌷
Wow, how amazing! Enjoy! x
Great tour of the market! We totally thought you were pointing at Molly also! 😂
🤣🤣🤣 right!
Ghost=guest=gost is also serbian, english kept it's prehistoric meaning that ghest is ghost of antsestors, english is great reservoir of serbian prehistoric words, I won't bother you with others, but often you will hear similar words to english with same or similar meaning, this is not coincidence
Lovin the poached egg and advacado never had it ......yet.!
A great vlog!
Wishing you both well!
Thank you! You too!
You guys are great . Hope belgrade to open up little bet for bars /lounges /clubs soon while you there , so you could experience wicked time in there . Belgrade really good for day/night music parties pre-Covid time .
Us too! Thanks for watching!
I've been hung out for hours around the old Belgrade, didn't see Matt and Molly, gutted.
Haha, next time!
@@dabbleandtravel Picky fingers
I saw you at the Usce shopping centar
@@nekjevecnasrbijaisrbskirod Sweet, I'll be there later
This area sounds awesome definitely worth an explore. Very bohemian vibes 🙌
Thanks for watching!
@@dabbleandtravel 👍👍
Wow, look at how d patties r stacked. Awesome burger.
I believe "paprika" is also a Serbian word used worldwide.
correct
Correct
Agreed
Right, but then again Hungarians say it's a Hungarian word. Seems to be dervied from papar, but I wonder what the relationship betwen "papar" and "paprika" is. Is "paprika" a diminutive of "papar", meaning a small "papar"?
@@chrisalton2022 Hahahhahaha, no, u didn't understand. Maybe "papar" is Hungarian, but "paprika" is Serbian, those 2 words actually have nothing common
The Serbian mask is pretty cool
Just so you know next time, the prices are per kilogram, so you choose your fruit/nut and say how much grams you wish to buy. I love to see such enthusiastic tourists, you guys are amazing! ♥
Thank you! ❤️
Cool videos! Enjoying watching them 😌👍🏼
Glad you like them!
8:10 he actually says flower (Rose flavor Ratluk) and not flour what you maybe thought ;-))) Welcome to Belgrade guys...
We knew flower, but couldn't quite work it out, rose makes so much more sense!
@@dabbleandtravel The rose and walnut are the most common flavor, the original ones, but not the only ones. Across the Zeleni venac market is almost 100 years old candy shop, bombondzija Bosiljcic (google it), with homemade/handemade sweets. It is the only one left as i know. We often take kids there, because it is the living piece of history and tradicion. And if u are after good ice cream look for the Crna ovca (black sheep), it is in a Kralja Petra street. And there is a local brand for a snowboard/ski jacket that is very cool and popular street wear named Wacky sheep (yea, i know sheeps again), check their insta or facebook page. Those are the things that are autentical local. Enjoy yourself and have a great time. And try cevapi at Cica, Djure Jaksica street near Knez Mihajlova. 😊
Great Video guys..... more please.....
SO Many more to come!
Thanks a lot! Much love from Serbia!!!
Usually, prices are for 1 kilo, unless it says different on price tag. So turksih delice is 200rsd for a kilo (1.7GBP for 2lbs, aprox.) :)
I wish we knew this before 😉🤣
I recommend you to go outside of Belgrade, especially now that everything is starting to turn green.
Follow us on Instagram to see where we are :)
Good shopping and a yummy burgers😋😋😋
Those prices on the markets are for kilogram of product. 200 dinars is one kilo of that turkish lokum. for 50 dinars he gave you quarter of a kilo so 250 grams :)
Thats all good and nice, but there is one very authentic place, epsecially good for your taste, a remote place outside of city area. It is called "Marinkova bara", be sure to visit this one! ❤️❤️
Nice suggestion brother, i visited Marinkova bara last year, a great experince I must admit!
Oh yes, Marinkova bara, always a pleasure to visit, i go there at least once a year with my family for a barbeque, greetings from Novi Sad!
To have Red Star and Partizan masks one near another can cause trouble. 🇷🇸⚽
The prices on all markets is always for 1 kg of anything (if it is not, it is stated otherwise, like for 1 piece, or for 100 gr)
Thanks for the tip!
Burger looks insanely delicious. Just curious about the turkish sweets. Is it fruity flavor sweet or is it like a milky texture kind of dessert. Looks good too.
@@janakolasinac1686 thanks for the information Je Ko. Those sweets really looks very tasty by the way you describe it.
They are sweet and super soft, similar to marshmallow but slightly chewy!
Great video! What is the name of the restaurant you went to where you ate those burgers? I'll be visiting later this month and would like to go check it out.
I think it's Manufaktura but not sure...
The burgers were from Submarine! x
Serbs are so honest! *
Serbian or Serbians is an adjective, such as Jewish, while the people's name is Serbs :)
Enjoy it guys!
Great start of d day exploration with a good, wonderful brunch.
Matt is 🤪crazy! That burger is humongous
It was massive!!!
Bayloni market is the name. Bajloni is name on Serbian language. J in our language usualy sound like Y. here is a example our country in '70, '80 Yugoslavia, but on our language we write Jugoslavija. :) Complicate language. hehe
200 dinars for 1 kg :) we call it ratluk but also locum ... nice sweet with coffee
Thanks!
Vampir and Paprika are 2 serbian words that all the world use :) great video!!
Good to know!
One info for your video is that second word from Serbia that you and everybody else use is paprika :)
Yes! Forgot about this one!
Enjoyed watching this vlog. Fun around the market. How do you eat all that Masseeev burger Matt. Love the coat Molly, you are so pretty!! Liked as always Matt!! You should start asking us every vlog. I'm "keeping on dabbling!!"
Thanks so much for watching, it wasn't that big ;) Hope you're good!
Thanks for this wonderful video.
Love the burger 🍔
When you go to the market and see 200 like price, this means 200 For 1 kilogram, or 1000g. Example, when you see apples and price is 60 dinars, 60 is For 1 kg. Some of stuff is really cheap, some are not, but For you, tourist, almost everything is cheap on this markets, stores and shoping moles. :)
Just one small correction. Sweets you have bought are called RATLUK, and yes it is Turkish candy. But it's not brought to Serbia by the people who went on their vacation to Turkey. Serbia was actually occupied by Ottoman Empire (todays Turkey) for nearly 400 years. And naturally, many dishes, sweets, words etc got stuck in Serbia.
All best to you!
The prices are written in RSD/KG
"Bajloni" is pronounced "Buy-loni".
Thats a big burger 🍔 in the end of the video 😉
Thank you for showing us different places around Europe and more, stay humble and good luck. Maybe if you can add prices of the food where you eat. Thank you, love from Uk.
You guys are the best. Love your videos. Keep up the great work!!!
You're the best!
HI, nice work, a letter J is always pronounced as a Letter Y like.. the market you went to..
Baay LoanO'va Pee ya Tsa,
a letter C is always pronounced as a sound TS together quick,
Zeleni Ve-nats, cheers
Good video. Nice walkabout. Your brunch looked so good. And those burgers. Omg. They looked banging. Thank you for sharing. :D
Thanks for watching!
Zelenee Venits (it's pronounced) means green wreath, and Skadarlija is Skadar Lee Ya. Its difficult, took me 4 yrs living here, been here 8 😂😂😂. Great you mention how courteous, honest the Serbs are. People in West have completely wrong impression. Married to one.
you should go to Nis to try real traditional food if you decide I will be your host !!
I'm Serbian who lives in Montenegro, you should visit Montenegro!Amazing nature;)
We are hoping to, just checking on covid restrictions!
I enjoyed watching this video.Loved the breakfast at Bloom. The marketplace was pretty cool .Love the Turkish delight sweet and other dried fruits. The apartment too is cool.Have a win time
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much!
@@dabbleandtravel have a wonderful weekend
Of course there are vampires 🧛♂️
Vampir.
absolutely true! Infact one guy helped me in farmer's market with 30 dinar as I forgot my credit card in apartment. I will give him chocolate tomorrow
Paprika is also serbian word 🙂
Oh did not know this!
@packsaddlemaker googl and you will see whos words is .. he he
@@user-et3ux8vn9q no, it’s hungarian, do your research right!
I’m from Australia but all my extended family is from Serbia and Belgrade and we visit there often 😍
Lovely!
hey guys once again. usually the price is per item or per Kg.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for showing d open market in d city of Belgrade. Nice snack to munch.
0:58 When you saw old house and the G wagon beside, what was your first impresion?
Thank you for this video amazing ☀️👍👏👌🙏🇷🇸
Thanks for watching!
I really, really enjoy your vlogs! I'm travelling with you from my couch and just wanted to say thank you!
It's very cold there in Belgrade even tough i'm not currently watching trough your videos❤❤🥶
It’s so cold!! Thanks for watching!
Hi guys. I like your videos. Just want to give you couple advices in Serbian language. When you see letter j pronounce y. Like Bayloni markey. When you see c you must say tz. Like Zeleni venatz.
Bayloni market
Try intergalactic diner.
Suggestion of mine, if you love beautiful sightings, and you love nature, you should definitely visit a place called Marinkova bara! Don't miss this one, I was there last year, an unforgetable experince, believe me!
Ha haa
Hello Molly and Matt happy Easter guys wow nice looking Molly your always stunning beauty and that’s foods are so yummy thank you for sharing that’s food I’m gonna try to cook but deferent flavor 😂😂😂but unless we have ideas take care guy’s and god bless 🥰🥰🥰
The burger was amazing. What was the price of the burgers. 😊
Can't remember the price but they are more expensive for Belgrade however they are the best burgers ever!
Are you planning on going to Montenegro anytime? I've been checking it out, looks great!
For sure!
Love your videos! For the best pljeskavica (burger) in Belgrade go to one of these places. Cika Miletov grill or to Restoran Stepin Vajat. Definitely go to the city of Nis, cheaper than Belgrade while the food is great, a lot more traditional Serbian cuisine for less money than in Belgrade. Don't miss Novi Sad, Valjevo, Iron gates on Danube, etc. Have fun!
Thanks for the tips!
You are such a beautiful, positive people.
Thank you!
Loved this those sweets 😆
So good!
In addition for that Marinkova bara place, among those cool places to eat and camp, you can find a nice hippie place (something like a caffe), I figured that you fancy those kinds of places. In those you can order some of the local "kraft" beers, very popular in Marinkova bara. And ofcourse, some of the best "rakija" is made there, cheers and make sure to film the experience!
Oh yes, the famous beer and rakija from Marinkova bara, how could I forget that
You guys rock
Keep sending us these videos of beautiful Belgrade
M moving there in 2023🤞
Hey from manly beach
😎🍻🍻🍻
We will! Thank you so much!
That turkish sweet that you like ,we call it Lokum 👍😀
Thanks!
Yes it's Ratluk in Serbian
It's very authentic, I'm glad you like here
Did you try РАКИЈА (rakiа)?
Hi you two! Love the channel:) What editing software does Molly use for your videos?! 🌈💛✌️
Hey! Thank you! Final Cut Pro ☺️
Yo. I see you do a lot of drone flying in Belgrade. How early did you send in the application for getting the flying permits? I'm going in May again and thinking about getting a drone and make some videos 😁
Message us on Instagram! 😊
Big respect for what are you doing. Well done :) Always welcomed here :)
Try burek at "Trpkovic"! It is a real, local one, not those "tourist" versions you showed us. You may find that you don't like it, but at least you could say you have tried it. Don't forget a yoghurt.
You guys are so funny. I almost pee myself watching you at the market. It is classic tourist behaviour; we all do it all the time; we just do not film ourselves.
Yes, you both are Urban Cool 😎
It's cheap, yes, but for western tourists only. The average monthly salary in Belgrade is 53000 Serbian Dinars, or £386. Your Turkish delight mix costed you £1.46.
Most prices in the Balkans are per kilo (2.2lb).
Edit: Ahahaha, I laughed so much. "A lot of Serbian people were going on holiday to Turkey, bring them back, and they become like a staple..."
Serbia and whole of the Balkans (-MNE) were under Turkish Ottoman rule for almost 500 years, so Balkan people adopted most dishes and candies from them.
If you work for 53.000 , change a job.
Drive a truck for double.
300 years*
@@TheWolfDude91True ! little more than 300 years..And also almost half of Serbia { Vojvodina} much much less..And Montenegro as one of Serbian states less than 200 years
@@TheWolfDude91 Well... the Kingdom of the Serbian king Vukašin Mrnjavčević was defeated in 1371 (Maritsa Battle), Serbia gained back its independence in 1878 (Berlin Congress). That's 507 years.
@@iksveili6193 the battle of kosovo took place in 1389 thats when serbia had a draw against the ottomans but we could not ammas a second army because of our population loss, so thats when the ottomans came back and ruled us for 500 years...
They have submarine burger in Zagreb, agree it’s so good.
seeing sweats, you became excited, and the prices are really really cheap,
Low.
This is why I like watching you guys... you eat like I would. Burgers, pizza, nachos, etc lol. And I’m sorry but there’s no chance Molly finished that whole burger! 🤪
HAHAHA, I swear, I ate the WHOLE Thing, we were both shocked too !!!
God bless you 🙏🙏🙏
Well, vampire is not the only Serbian word used in English language!!
There’s more than 5000 ( five thousand) words, Serbian words, in English language!
Nice video. Yeah, Belgrade has so cheap street markets. I am living here for 2 years and I can confirm it. Good prices and quality products :)
Thanks for sharing!
