I'm 57 and quit smoking over 8 yrs ago after being a heavy smoker for 34 yrs. Now I can run for 15 kms and bench 100 lb dumbells. Even better, I never get sick anymore. Best thing I ever did for myself. My only regret is that I didn't quit decades earlier.
Amazing, this should be played as a commercial instead of the pointless crap being shoved down people's throats to keep them on the couch. This could actually get people up and at em.
REALLY appreciate what you're doing. Can't wait to read your book! I'm 44 and been strength training for about a year and it has made a HUGE difference in my life.
I'm 60, 6'0" about 250 lbs. I wake at 3 am, do 100 push-ups and kettle bell swings and squats 30 minutes every morning. I have a healthy breakfast and supplements before I walk 2 miles to work where I prep a healthy fast food kitchen 5 hours every morning. Then M,Tues, Thurs, Fri after work I walk to the gym halfway to home and get a more extensive H.I.T. and heavy weight lifting regime in for about 1.5 hours. Then walk home. I'm so tired by then I'm almost entirely sedentary for the rest of the evening until I sleep usually by 9 pm except for cooking dinner. That's roughly watching tv on my butt every evening for about 3 or 4 hours. I haven't seen a doctor in 22 years, but I feel really guilty about this sedentary habit. Any suggestions? I'm also not a smoker or drinker. Not that I can't, but I just don't want too. Maybe a drink once or twice a month.
You're attempt at humor is quite charming and I mean that in a straight sort of way. (Yes I'm a subscriber who never misses a video or fails to give you a thumbs up!)
Love the way you deliver your message , accessible and inspirational. At 61 I returned to the path of being my best me. Got a way to go but have enjoyed feeling heather and more functional. Thanks for the videos
Oh my! Were those Sparty's chili cheese fries from Lansing? That, and De Luca's Pizza on Willow HWY are almost enough to get me to go back to Michigan. Got me through Law School. Well, your gym of course would be an attractive stop too. Keep up the great work Sully. I've tried to get my mom to join me in training. Could not get her to buy in, and now it looks like her back is beyond recovery. She's 83. :(
Mike from Elk Grove California age 63. The man knows his stuff. Well personally at least I hot 4/5, being physically challenged on SSD cant afford what the dentists want to charge me to fix my teeth and/or missing, and they dont help financially either.
Long story short...(sort of) I injured my trap/neck/shoulder squatting the day after Christmas. I was racking the weight (460lbs) and the bar sort of slid off my shoulder and I shrugged the bar into the rack. Not good. I took some time off and got back at it with safety-bar squats as I could not get under the bar with my shoulder. That lead to a sore lower back from squatting with such a vertical back. I then switched to belt-squats. I don't know what the hell happened but I injured the area over my floating ribs on one side (where the floating ribs attach to my vertebrae). The area above the ribs is tender and sore (like a 4 out of 10) I have no idea what happened. Maybe it could have been from my lifting belt, maybe it could have been from the belt on the belt-squat machine? I don't recall an acute injury during my workouts. The problem is that it is not going away/getting better fast enough... It's a little less tender than at first and again in terms of pain, it is a pretty mild injury. So I am going to try a lidocaine patch and see what happens. I actually went to the gym today and I had more discomfort getting out of my car than lightly lifting...(but my should is back to 100%!) As Dr. Sullivan is actually a physician, I can now tell my mother I have consulted with an M.D. Love the book! Peace, Joe E O
Soon. Probably in the Spring, although that's up to Aasgaard. There are rumors of a German edition in the works. I can only say that I find these rumors....highly credible.
That was the part about not being able to cover ALL the bad things...and sleep has been mentioned many times already. But you're right...sleep is a big deal.

It is hard to walk. 2 knees replaced, 5 hip surgeries, ankle fusion, 4 or 5 operations on my feet. Not to mention 100° in Florida
So true ! Started in Marine’s stationed in Korea! Stress? Tried 4 times before it stuck!! Best thing ever

Fricken awesome
Sully, when will the book get released on Kindle?
Soon. Probably in the Spring, although that's up to Aasgaard.

Last Samurai? Really? Go with Cool Hand Luke!
As far as protein goes would you agree with the 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight for daily intake? Sorry if off topic.
For healthy adults engaged in strength training, yes.
👍
Isn't Rip a smoker?
He is not.
@@GreySteel Good to know! I thought he was because of his anchor-like, deep, manly voice
Hmm, surprised sufficient sleep is not on the list.

ETOH 👎🏼
you would look 20 years younger without that hipster beard Dr!!!!!!
Nature didn't make us, God did.
You are SO barking up the wrong tree on the wrong video with the wrong dude. Say something RELEVANT or go away.
So you’re an atheist? Keep that under wraps or your channel will collapse…
I like how Toms character got Stockholm syndrome.
