  • @jpendowski7503
    @jpendowski7503 Год назад +9

    What a fun experiment. It might be easier to get a controlled placement if you took shavings from a sharpener or pieces shaved off with a blade or veggie parer. Then you could set them as you like before heat swirling. Cannot wait to see neon colors.

    Used to do this decades ago with epoxy. Never used it with UV. But did batik artwork too with crayon shavings which do work better I find. Gives quicker melting. Use a lighter though and not a torch type. Love the crook neck lighters. Those are great for adjusting exactly where you want the flame. 🥰

    • @2degucitas
      @2degucitas Год назад +1

      How did you get the crayon off the fabric? Boiling?

    • @LostSiren13
      @LostSiren13 Год назад +1

      @@2degucitas left it melted onto the material as it was framed and didn’t sag. And I used foils over the melted crayons so a mock batik. Came out quite nice and more textured. But I did boil one to remove the wax and it came out nice too. Just a pain to mount that one. Took a couple people to do it right and tight. I liked both though.

My regular lighter kept burning me and was just not doing the job so out came the torch. Ohhh I was so upset with myself. The clock turned out beautifully though! Myrtle Beach sand and shells were brought to me to make an ocean clock. Still sux I have to buy 2 new molds though. 👎🏼 (note…. Ive secretly been using a torch for a while now) 🤫

    They are pretty. I like how the heat melted it the second time. I know other people have done this with two part with varying results. I wonder if you waited until it started to get warm and thick if it will do this same type of lacing. Let me suggest painting the inside of the mold with resin and curing that, then doing as before. That what you can be sure the underside is cured and you can easily flip it to make sure it cured all the way through.

    • @daniel..cooper
