As in mixing screen printing inks, to mix with a mixer without bubbles you push the mixer into the resin then start it up rather than put it in while it is already spinning. You will also get a better mix that way.
How refreshing to find a RUclipsr who is not full of their selves and gets on with helping people understanding resin straight into the video, Wendy you are brilliant and give so much help thank you x
@@Toonpish I watch a lovely lady in Australia called Pouring your Heart Out. I have bought everything I need to get started but it’s winter here and we can’t open the windows while using the resin in the lounge so my sister and I will wait until the weather is better. You should see my stash, and now I’ll have to get more after watching you with that amazing tattoo (which I happen to have a supply of). Will need the light and extra powder colours. I don’t have a dedicated room which is a pain unless I throw the kids out 🤣. I want to learn as much as Ican and you taught me completely new processes and I am so grateful. I can’t wait to get started. You are one very talented and creative lady. My talent extends to cardmakimg and upcycling furniture which makes a mess inside the house. Thank you so much.❤️ I have to admit that I am a little afraid to start, which is probably why my stash is so big. I am scared of not doing a good job and am a bit OCD,so it stresses me that I may muck it up. I am good at the cards and the furniture upcycling, but this is new and I have no confidence. I have subbed and will continue watching you to get my courage up.
Honey you will fail sometimes and the trick is to learn and move on 😀😀 We have all been there for sure but the best advice I can give you is 1 make sure you have a good quality resin 2 always use ppe 3 make sure you have a good supply of isopropyl alcohol 4 enjoy every minute of your creativity 😀😀😀😀 You sound like a already talented person, so I’m sure you will take to it like a duck to water. But you have to start right at the beginning 😀😀
@@Toonpish thank you so much for your encouragement. I’ll keep watching you until the weather is nice and then my sister and I will give it a go. You will have done many new things by then! Looking forward to watching your exploits!!
Wendy the resin has to be deeper than the paddles on the mixer. Use the mixer for a bit stop and scrape the sides continue mixing never bring the paddles above resin. This will create a lot less bubbles. So I have seen others demonstrate.
I’m so glad you said that as I was going to tell her the same thing… i love my mixer… and I have had to experiment with different paddles to get the best results…
I was going to say the same thing. I seem to get less bubbles when I use my mixer. I haven't been able to work on any of my art stuff since mid-april until this past week. I totally forgot to put my resin in warm water before using it. That definitely helps with making less bubbles too. I just learned a new tip. Keep a sealed jar with some alcohol in it and then after you are done mixing, put the mixer paddle in the jar and let it run for a little bit. I got lazy with my previous mixer paddle and it h!s a thick build up of dried resin on it! Oops!
@@carolwalters6469 yes, if you don’t take the resin off before it cure, your paddles will get really thick build up on it… I don’t know why they are making silicon coated paddles… makes no sense to use plastic … I wonder if I could make a silicone coated paddle? what OMG I actually love love love the wolf. My brother-in-law is mad about anything wolves. He has been super poorly of late and is unable to walk anymore. My sister bought him a scooter and it's given him a new lease on life, the saying Throw me to them wolves and I will come back leading the pack made me think of him on his scooter with a pack of wolves behind him. Your art is outstanding .
I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this along the way, but for the mixers, you need a smaller container and you should not bring the paddle above the resin, it should always be submerged. This will provide a bubble free mix. Don't turn on the mixer until the paddle is submerged. Great video!!
Wow stunning!! Love that wolf!! What a great idea!! Awsome!!❤❤❤❤ it!! I like the idea of that heat mat I have the let's resin one and it doesn't even have a light on it to show it is on. Love the automatic shut off great function!!
