During High School and University I was so sensitive to everything the slightest sound noise light would wake me up and I needed total darkness to sleep , and when I went to work for a hotel my roommates would say I slept very tense and with an "eye open" cause if I would be woken up I was up immediately. Since I started living away from the big city in a calm area near the beach my anxiety dropped to such a level no noise bothers me , even if it gets noisy outside during the summer I don't hear nothing anymore, definitely less stressed and more calm.
Just try to grab every...single...word. And you'll be amaze how your brain will do the rest for attentiveness and capability to understand what you're attentive towards. Every single word. Even the spaces between the word.
Eastern teachings are going to make a powerful come back in gaining control over our bodies. Now with our understanding of physiological changes, our continued growth of awareness to our minds and bodies will unlock us.
I can tell you exactly what autism is really like... Sensory input needs to be tightly controlled and most of the time I can do this and compensate by myself. Sometimes, I can't. My brain is spounglike and mostly indiscriminately when it comes to sensory input. I must exert control over this in order simply to function. I doubt this is something everybody experiences. I remember being a kid and being in agony because there was a certain sound present in my environment. To this day, I struggle to tolerate noises that overwhelm me like that high pitch whistle high winds create when they blow in my ears or the sound that water makes when it goes through a plughole. Now, there are stimuli I don't tolerate well, but I also find it real easy to ignore, or tune out these stimuli. Learning to do this for people with ASD is really REALLY difficult and doesn't come naturally.
I'd like to hear about dealing with tinnitus or pain while trying to focus. I have tinnitus that when I am deep in focus can be tuned out, but other times the noise in side of my head drives me to distraction & interferes with my ability to think straight. It is mind destroying at some points when you just want ONE SECOND of silence and instead is relentless (as always). Knowing will live rest of your entire life this way is kind of ugh sometimes. I want noise cancelling headphones for the tinnitus, but there seems to be no fix for it. -- And think some people (me sometimes) have aches and pains that are kind of like the tinnitus in taking over your mind. So.... if you read this comment, then would love a podcast on this topic. And why are hearing aids so darn expensive? Supposedly they would have helped, but are out of my budget. Surely a market for cheaper good hearing aids for a business person? What's the deal.
Just some info, but I've heard on a podcast before that if you have any teeth with any infections or teeth with root canals done on them, they may contribute to tinnitus. If you're interested check out ruclips.net/video/7DM5gnIAK8E/видео.html
Check your dental occlusion, improper jaw positions can lead to this problem, contact a dentist who specialises in this sphere, you will probably need a splint for your lower jaw if the problem is with occlusion.

There are a lot of artists and musicians that have a retreat that exclude all social media and society. My favorite example is Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. The solo artist has a house in the hillside that allows him to work to his full potential.
He gets to using a lot of technical terms in this discussion so it's hard to understand. Basically he talkin about getting distracted and how autistic people are more prone to being distracted. Thing talks about how these distractions can be external or internal. In other words you could be distracted by the sound of eyeglass being taped which is external. Or you could be distracted by anger tiredness or hunger which is internal. Then at the end he says to build an awareness as to when you wake up are you focused more on the world outside of you or are you focused more at what's going inside of you and how you feel, or your thoughts
"It's all about how we feel inside about what's happening outside." That's what Buddhism says. But, Buddhism provides techniques and tools to build on and intervene based upon this awareness that are within our control.
when I work on a complex problem (I'm a software engineer), and I work well, say I'm in a flow state, I'm mostly internal, because ideas and solutions arise inside of my thoughts, but at the same time I bring them outside on the paper or in the code, so it's kind of an exchange. it's really interesting, I'll be even more conscious about that now.
I just watched this and this was very satisfying, and a good way to better interpret what i thought because i have always felt everything that he was saying, very intelligent man, this really helped
1. Distraction and Sleepiness is representative of limbic friction - stimulation is too low or high 2. Utilising 'top down control' - prefrontal cortex

Anyone please...I have a question...Our attention and perception shifts primarily to the higher stimulus whether internal or external... So how do we just by observing where my awareness is put together the two orbs in our desired place? Yeah How do we focus?

I live in New York around constant noises. People who want complete silence often times are people who live already in quiet environments. New Yorkers tune out noises from trains, horns, shouting, to the point that they literally stop hearing it. The human brain will quickly adjust to all different types of noises. I feel very comfortable and relaxed hearing the sounds of the trains. I feel restless and uneasy in quiet.
Yes, this seems the science views of Meditation and Mindfullness practice. -- When I want to increase your energy field and your focus to improve the performance - outward focus too much makes you can do something "weird", inward focus too much makes you feel you can not react to things properly and it also looks "weird" :)) those 2 kinds of overfocusing are bad too; they are distraction factors. -- I mix those 2 when I want to do something outside there (take a conversation with someone for ex) - let my mind freely jump in and jump out LoL. Of course ALWAYS SINGLETASK, one thought, one action at a time.
Honestly, that's how I feel with most of the Huberman podcast. It's interesting, and it feels like you're about to get solid actionable information, but you end up getting little to none.
Myes I also have a very high level of IQ and EQ, my peers think I’m some kind of genius but I’m just being myself. Sometimes it’s hard though, because I just want to be like everyone else. I guess I’m just suffering from success
Distractions are not an external problem. Distractions are an internal conditional function. Distractions are not chaotic. Distractions are rising from a conscious space. Distractions are intentional programs in Boolean form.
I’ve found that I cannot be inward-focused and work well intellectually (e.g. writing a paper) because thinking about “things” is sacrosanct to interacting with them. Try to write a comment while you’re focused on your breathing, or your left nut. Not very easy.
