Andrew, your growth as a podcaster is a showing! Your craft of communicable expertise is being fine tuned through practice and commitment right before my very eyes. As a viewer, my humanness thanks you for your generosity of spirit. Super helpful synthesis - And I was able to watch through most of episode with no anxiety or overwhelm this time! I come to the conclusion that speaks to parallel timelines of growth.

I tried the focus think while watching Andrew talk and it's actually really cool it's like meditation for your eye's , you feel yourself drift off and you recognize it and go back to focus , China knows what they are doing.

Thanks Lex and Andrew. You are doing the world a favor by disseminating such valuable information that is often partly new even to people who are reading a lot of science (including myself :-). Andrew, thanks for doing the reading and analysis for us !
Only one small suggestions: the information would be a easier to digest and memorize for non-insiders like myself, if, as in other podcasts with AH's participation, it were presented less densely, less fast, and with a couple more explanatory remarks per subject. (The latter cannot be cured by setting a lower playback speed).

I can attain that "laser focus" when smoking sativa specifically. Can last up to around the same time mentioned here (90-120 min). But returns diminish fairly rapidly after repeated use (4-7 days), until there is no longer any benefit at all.
Then it's another 3-5 week detox. Not very practical or pragmatic in the long run, but boy that initial level of focus - it's something I'm just unable to attain organically.

Same for me. I think it’s that laser focus that makes music so wonderful to listen too, movies so emotional to watch and podcast so interesting to listen to. Everything becomes so intense. Words, thoughts and realisations hit me like punches. I seem to obtain that focus for a few days after smoking until my ego kicks back in.

"Coffee makes me sharp". Conversely, no coffee makes me lethargic. This is a common conception (noticed empiracally by me ... I don't consumed coffee nor consume other stimulents). Lives full of cause/effect thoughts of acheivements/excuses.
Thank you Dr. Huberman for the eye opening comment on ceiling height effects of focus. How long have religious organizations known about this? Cathedrals design, lol. The experiment of lower ceiling heights (still heigher than normal) with inspiring art (sistene chapel). Hmm, how high are the ceilings in the pentagon or other military/bunker buildings (regimented/non-creative management systems)?
Any research on this inspirational ceilings in childhood environments? Inspirational art on and/or hanging from ceilings in children's bedrooms, daycare, etc.?
The mention of 40 hz reminds me of the vibrations momentarily experienced at mid heart beat.
