I owned and operated a carpet steam cleaning company for years. WD-40 was what I used to remove chewing gum from carpet. Spray on gum, use bottom scoop of can to scrape up til removed, follow with dawn dish detergent or good degreaser to remove WD-40…. And… all done. I also use on squeaky door hinges.
FYI Bleach does not remove mold. I repeat bleach does not remove mould on almost every surface. It does not, what it’s actually doing is bleaching out the colour so that you don’t see it. Mold spores, spores travel all over the place. They’re in the air around us constantly when they have a dark wet moist place with proper air circulation, the spores love to grow. In order to remove mould properly you have to use the right products one of them is CONCROBIUM, that is the one recommended after much research. When you apply bleach to get mould out of your trouble spots, it actually makes the spores from the mould go down deeper because it’s live and it’s retreating from the chemical. So it actually makes the mold dig deeper, although you can’t see it because you’ve now bleached the colour out. It will actually make them all come back harder and faster by bleaching your area, that’s a factor not many people know about and through much research I have learned that any product that has bleach in it like tilex and things it’s the same thing. Any bleach based product only temporarily makes it look like it is taken care of but it’s not really.
You are 100% correct!! I just cleaned a house yesterday and it had mold everywhere, thankfully no carpets!!! I did use tile ex on the mold in the bathroom and on the windows, but then I scrubbed the Dickens out of it with a scrub daddy and a toothbrush. That scrub daddy and scrub mommy are the best things since sliced bread!!
Not sure if you cover this in any video, but I keep a small bottle of Dawn (blue) dish detergent in my bathroom & laundry room for a pre-treatment for many stains, especially if oil based (like salad dressing & many foods). Works like a charm.
Citric acid (same as what you use in canning) is the fastest, easiest, and probably cheapest way to remove water mineral deposits. Wet the surface, sprinkle on a bit of citric acid powder (and you can almost immediately wipe riht back off and the deposits are gone. If they've built up for a time, you might a wait a minute or 2. You don't have to make a thick paste or cover entirely, or rub it in or scrub (it might scratch if you tried scrubbing) It's in the water as it dissolves. I don't know if it does anything for rust stains, just the lime and calcium deposits.
I use liquid coconut oil on sticky label residue, it worked great! Non toxic and no strong odor. Apply to area let soak for a bit then I use these cool scraper sticks to peel off the residue. Saves your manicure and your skin!
WD-40 is ok for many warmer-weather lower-48 states in cold temp. Unless you want to see why! Keep WD from the car!. She does not seem to know this or read the label.
Hand sanitizer works great on sharpie ink. I use it on my canning kids as well on gallon plastic water jugs to remove the date stamps since I reuse them. I’ve also used to remove sticky glue on glass.
Dry erase marker will take sharpie off of almost anything, tried and true. Just scribble over the sharpie with any EXPO Marker, and immediately wipe off with a dry rag (wet works too). A while back, I had a kiddo draw ALL OVER my WHITE FENDER GUITAR with SHARPIE and I was PEEVED, til I found this hack. It SAVED the GUITAR!!!!
Had a chandelier I could never get clean, until I received a wonder cloth inside packaging for a laptop. Have been ordering them since. They are like magic erasers only better. No streaks, no pieces coming off as you clean, just rinse, wring and keep going. They are also great for inside car windows. The best ones are called Ultimate cloth. Can be pricy when not on sale, but last forever. In fact, I have only replaced due to loss, rather than wear out.
I use a green scrubby pad, and lemon oil to re-finish stainless steel sinks and appliances. Rubbing in the direction of the grain. I would think that WD-40 would do the same for touch-ups on your fridge, etc. So many people want to clean the fingerprints with a spray cleaner. Also using WD-40 to clean the plastic parts of a vacuum cleaner (like the roller housing); works great. I never thought about using it for a broom, that's genius. Thank you for your channel. I thought I was the only one that was a crazy cleaner (of everything). :). Oh by the way, Have you read Laundry Love?
I have tried lots of products to remove the hard water iron stains from my bathroom granite countertop. Even had someone offer to clean it for $250! This works. Thank you, I can’t wait to see what it looks like when I get all the stains scraped off.
I love all these ideas, so much that I went to Dollar Tree and bought the generic WD-40. There's one problem though, you never said how bad it smells! I'd love to use it for many of these things but the stinky odor is way too overwhelming!
I’m in Oklahoma and we have had the $5 aisle for about two months now and everything is so cute!! My favorite is the little foot stools !! All beautiful pastel colors and just so adorable ❤❤❤
Those hinges from the toilet seat that you left on the toilet can be removed to soak as well. Usually the lugs underneath that hold the screws in place are plastic and sometimes resemble giant thumb screws. All one needs to do is reach underneath and unscrew them until they come off, then the hinges pull right off. On occasion they can be stuck in place but all they need is a good tug.
Always remember to turn your broom upside down to save the broom bristles so the weight of the broom is not on the bristles. Just like when you buy a new broom from a store.
Hey you're pretty handy! And a great cleaner! Great video! Much respect!! Next get some natural cleaning solutions like vinegar, baking soda, peroxide, etc and get rid of those toxic chemicals! 😆😳
I was told by a company that sold silk flowers and plants to spraying WD40 on the product would keep them from fading. Bought the liquid form and used it on our arrangements.
I read that while bleach cannot remove mold from porous surfaces like drywall and hardwood floors, bleach does sanitize surfaces and kill mold spores on contact, meaning it will kill mold on non-porous surfaces.

I grew up with venetian blinds on every window. The blinds were metal in those days & could easily cut you if you weren't careful while trying to clean them, as well as easily bent. Our canister vacuum had a long hose & a round brush attachment we used to get the top layer of dust off. Then we could take a damp cloth to them. At least once a year, Dad would take the whole unit down, & put them into a soapy bathtub, but since the slats were held together with cloth bands (today's blinds have cords), in time the cloth got stained from the tub water, sun light, dust, etc., & deteriorated, to the point of needing to be replaced - not an easy task. I hated blinds as a kid, & always vowed to never have blinds when I had my own house, but of course my house did when I bought it, & blinds truly let you control light & peering eyes best. I Love all your tips & tricks, & have become addicted to watching your various videos, but many are far too long for me to spend the time watching each to the end in one sitting. While I do save some, & either go back to them later, &/or try to go through the transcripts to find the points I'm interested in saving for future reference, it's not always easy (I'm still trying to find the various stainless steel cleaning products you named in 1 or 2 videos, but at this point, I've seen so many, I have no clue where to look! I often take notes, but my phones tends to make me lose the video if paused for more than a few seconds, but that's another problem!!). Maybe if there are multiple tricks or tips on a video, a "table of contents" at the start of the video may help, & then having the ability to easily skip to the desired point, or maybe have them broken up into mini tutorials. Also, numbering or more clearly dating the videos would help (mine usually say something like posted 3 months ago, or 1 yr., not an actual dates), as well as organizing them by category (room, subject, product, etc.). The only breakdown I find regularly is by store like Dollar Tree, IKEA, Amazon, etc. Some of the videos really seem to skip around a lot. It makes me feel like I'm in an unfamiliar grocery store w/o a directory, so I have to go thru the entire store just to find the one or 2 items I need.😢
Wd-40 can leave a oily film behind after use. Brake cleaner is alcohol based and evaporates fast. And thus why I think it's better for removing super glue, permanent marker etc.
I use wd-40 on everything in my kitchen.. countertops, cabinets, black stainless appliances, faucets, etc. I also use it on my wood furniture., conditions and protects.
it's pretty much kerosene so will always stink. Not a fan there's too many other less toxic products. But if you like it their website shows tons of uses
My son is a heavy equipment mechanic supervisor. He now uses Knockrloose is I believe how it is spelled. It penetrates the crevices quick. He said better than PB Blaster. I had a water hose stuck on the faucet I could not get off with pliers. I sprayed the Knockrloose on it..waited a couple minutes and this 65 yr old meme got it right off! Napa auto parts sells it. It is a little expensive ($18 I believe) but we’ll worth it and you only use a little. I just bought my daughter a can.
Thank you for another great video! Being a busy mom and also working I am always rushing. What do you recommend to use to get rid of cooking smells on your clothes after cooking? When I sear steaks or chicken I feel it wears on my clothes and I do not like to walk around smelling like food lol. Any tips on that would be appreciated 🙂
I try to change into an old sweatshirt or tee when I am stir-frying food or pan frying a batch of bacon. I find that wearing an apron is not enough! Same thing happens when you use the grill.
Wash in Borax. It helps to take out gasoline smells in work clothes... rather sniff steak aroma than gasoline though, YMMV. Still, useful info if you wanna become an arsonist.
We always washed windows with white vinegar & newspaper, but the latter is hard to find these days! If people really want to use "window" cleaner, instead of the costly index, just buy windshield washer fluid. It works the same but so much cheaper!!
Thanks for all your tips always so helpful. Because I’m about to start spring cleaning and tomorrow the closet is first. Well I did my daughter’s closet already.
There are toilet seats that are slow-close and easy-clean. The seat pops off for easy cleaning on the bowl and you can clean and rinse the seat in the shower or utility sink if you want.

How do you get around the SMELL of the spray lubricant? I want to some these indoor uses, but the “WD40 smell” lingers and I detect it for days when I enter our home. 🤷♀️ Would it hurt to add a few drops of a pleasant essential oil to make the scent tolerable?
I had no idea how relaxing a video with no music and constant chattering could be ☺️☺️💕
I agree; irritating background music just makes me switch off.
For removing sticky labels, if you hit it with a blow dryer for about a minute, it will loosen the glue so it's easier to remove.

Grandpa swore by two things. One was duct tape, the other was WD-40. I keep one of each around. He wasn't wrong about either one.
I fix things all the time and never seem to need duct tape for anything. WD40 is great tho

I also use it on my wood furniture., conditions and protects.
WELL, CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY YOU HAVENT CAUSED AN EXPLOSION IN YOUR KITCHEN, HATS OFF FOR NOT DOING SO, THUS FAR...😮😮😮
Where's the broom one? You can use olive oil to remove green dye and super glue. It says you shouldn't use WD40 on skin.
I also want to see the one with broom
Question - WD40 has a smell to it does the dollar tree lubricant have a smell also?
TY for another great video 🙂
Yes it does unfortunately…
it's pretty much kerosene so will always stink. Not a fan there's too many other less toxic products. But if you like it their website shows tons of uses
I actually kind of like the smell🤷♀️
Every woman needs two things in her tool box, Wd and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD, If it moves and it shouldn't
use duct tape!
🙌👍
My son is a heavy equipment mechanic supervisor. He now uses Knockrloose is I believe how it is spelled. It penetrates the crevices quick. He said better than PB Blaster. I had a water hose stuck on the faucet I could not get off with pliers. I sprayed the Knockrloose on it..waited a couple minutes and this 65 yr old meme got it right off! Napa auto parts sells it. It is a little expensive ($18 I believe) but we’ll worth it and you only use a little. I just bought my daughter a can.
I like that little Mnemonic, that'll definitely remind you of the uses for Duck Tape and WD-40
uu forgot a butter knife my wife changed the head gaskets on our mini van last week, wit a butter knife an hot glue for gasket runs great now
Thanks Colleen🎉
Use the wWD40 directly on the steel wool pad- skip the water
Should be able to put that in a ziplock or Tupperware and reuse that wool pad
Q-tips work well for small spaces. In the car as well.
What's the best way to remove calcium, lime, rust...especially, rust on stainless steel.
Steel wool 0000 always works for me 👍
I use Ed-40 for that, it works great, also give my stainless steel fridge, stove and hood a rub down to keep away rust.
The product CLR is made JUST for that purpose
@@loiscampbell3510 thank you
Thank you for another great video!
Oh I know…. I hate that too!! Fresh air and Febreeze and keep your fingers crossed lol 😂
Loved these tip’s please keep them coming 👏🏾
Love this video, very inspiring. Thank you for sharing 😁😍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
You are a role model!!! Thank you
Thanks for all your tips always so helpful. Because I’m about to start spring cleaning and tomorrow the closet is first. Well I did my daughter’s closet already.
There are toilet seats that are slow-close and easy-clean.
The seat pops off for easy cleaning on the bowl and you can clean and rinse the seat in the shower or utility sink if you want.
baking soda and vinegar will do the same job with less fumes.
Doesn't coating woodwork with this lubricant cause it to attract dust and dirt? Seems like a bad idea to me.
I agree
Unfortunately, you are correct.
Good job ! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I HAVE to check out that lubricant. I haven't afforded the expensive stuff!
the wd 40 spray ideas are GREAT
Look for some awesome product yellow liquid takes care of rust mildew clean spots out of carpet also does not bleach carpet use on clothes just wash out thoroughly 😊
Another great video.😊👍
Thanks so much!
$3 and $5 sections in Orem Utah! It's an awesome addition! 👌
Both of my local dollar tree stores have the plus section already
Colgate White toothpaste remove crayon stains
One thing I just learned not to do with wd40 is use it on sliding glass door tracks or as garage door lube. Aluminum wax instead.
Why not? Please explain.
@@pamunderwood2935ot sure what her rationale was, but greasy in a track will attract and hold dust, dirt and debris that will impact smooth operation.
Edited to suggest graphite.
Most aerosol cans don't work well unless they are held upright. I just saw you were having some issues ;)
Hi, nice hacks. Thank you😊❤
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for sharing
Using a heat gun such as one used by crafters will also remove stuck-on labels.
Is there any hack you can do to use for wipung ceilings pliz
In the toilet bowl? Oil & water doesn't mix. Also, careful with the fumes.
We do have the dollar tree plus section in our DT
I need help! I live in a rented townhouse and it has a long handrail going upstairs. It has the "landlord special" multiple paint layers and now every time I clean it, it looks even worse. Its normally white. It looks black and gross. Ive tried pink stuff, Lysol wipes, Clorox, baby wipes and im out of ideas! Help please 🥺
How do you get around the SMELL of the spray lubricant? I want to some these indoor uses, but the “WD40 smell” lingers and I detect it for days when I enter our home. 🤷♀️ Would it hurt to add a few drops of a pleasant essential oil to make the scent tolerable?
this is so awesome!!! and so OCD 😂
