GREAT Irish Spring hacks- Here is 1 more that I use to stop deer from eating our bush leave and fruit from trees, I heard when hung on a stick in a garden they will leave tomatoes alone also. They don't like the smell. I hope I can explain what to do without a video. Save the netting that onions come in. I guess you could also use cheese cloth, thin fabric, piece of chicken wire or nylons? Do they make nylons anymore? I usually buy some Irish spring from the dollar tree, cut them in small pieces-maybe about ten to a bar. Cut the netting in thirds, place about 4 pieces of soap on each piece of netting, bring up the netting like a pouch. Cut a piece of string, fishing line or whatever about 12 inches long tie the top of the pouch hang it from tree or bush. It works for me. I have a lot of deer.
My kitchen cabinets and drawers are all wood, hand made in 1958. In damp weather drawers stick and are difficult to open and close. I rub Irish Spring soap on the top and bottom of the runners on each drawer. They open and close so easily. I also run the soap on shelves of cabinets. Helps keep bugs away in both applications. ❤️ love Irish Spring!

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought maybe it was going to be the hack I use for one of the best shaving soaps I've ever used. I just grate Men's Dove from the dollar store into my shaving mug and pack it down. The cleansing cream in it gives me the best shave and leaves baby soft skin @ 77 yo. Yes, the vinegar lures them in and then they get stuck in the soapy water and drown. I do aS well, after my father passed I had stock in denture tabs & found several great use for them around the house making life much easier maintaining the home.
Excellent tutorial! Place a bar of this (or similar), under the bed sheets. Keeps odors away. VO5 cleans silver. The insert tells all one can do with VO5. Bay leaves, tobacco, cloves keep little buggers out of clothes(winter summer storage). A little container of Cloves kept on a shelf, with winter hats and gloves smells good but the bay leaves and tobacco keeps away moths, silverfish, etc.
To our surprise the chunks of "Irish" soap were gathered together near a plant after we had scattered a previous night before. Some critter evidently knew the "hack" and showed us who's boss.
Nice and cheap way to put bugs off. I particularly hate flies, coming in the house, I put bleach in the toilet bowls and kitchen bins . I also use lavender and eucalyptus oil in drawers and cupboards, to stop moths. Thank you X; )
@YeshuaMyKing mixed together it does the same thing as the Alka-Seltzer. I use baking soda and cheap white vinegar in my sinks and bathrooms to clean and help unclog pipes.
Put a bird bath under tour apple tree, and squirrels/birds will avoid going at your apples. Keep the water fresh everyday. Add a feeder for both animal also. Both animals seek out fruit for lack of water. The animal feed is what their bodies mainly need, but if that is lacking they will go for the apples/fruits. I promise this will help out a ton.
Cool beans, thank you! When you were putting it around your plant it looked like the soil on the moon 😂. Another thing that works well in the toilet and bathroom sink is denture cleaners. I'll have to try the Alka-Seltzer.
Yes! Depends because in philly ; we have hood squirrels who fight people and cats so Irish springs is not stopping them . Also, I'm afraid if the stray cats may eat it and get sick

for those here in South Africa watching this, I looked up Sunlight bar soap and it has much of the same ingredients INCLUDING geranium extract which really does repel rats, its also in citronella and is the base ingredient in the German rat spray for your car Molly something or other. :)
love all the Irish spring uses but the alka seltzer not so much. Too expensive when you can do the same with baking soda and if need be for stubborn stains, a bit of white vinegar to the mix and it's magic. Thanks so much for all your suggestions.
I use glass marbles for mulch in potted plants outdoors. Seems to assist in keeping plants moist and also helps keep warm in spring on chilly days. Or so I think.
If you are putting shavings of soap around your plants, when you wet your plants, won't there be damage to the root of the plant, or kill the plant all together?
Peppermint oil not harmful to people, pets or environment and will do the same thing! Can use mixture of tea trea and Peppermint or just the one. But I'm sure the soap is great for some things though, so thanks for that info.. I will definitely try in thr trash can instead of my essential oils, A they're more costly. I do buy large quantities in bulk, so that helps. I've always used the denture tabs for toilets and porcelain, or tough cleaning jobs one or two tabs does it plus the minty smell freshens small spaces like toilet areas! Win, win in my book. When my step Dad passed I ft like I had stock in them had to find a use, his bathroom was the first place I tried them.
I can believe that bugs hate Irish Spring. My regular soap was discontinued so I bought a bar 20 years ago. Unwrapped it and placed it in the shower for the next morning. 2:00 am - I woke up with my sinuses on fire - because of that soap - 2 rooms away! Got up, picked it up with a plastic bag so I didn't have to touch it and carried it outside to the trash can so I could get some sleep.

@@g.borgia5100 I know but after seeing all these natural ways of whitening and cleaning I started getting a bit paranoid. I always have a bottle of chlorine in the house because sometimes it's the only way to get a really good clean after it's been a while or when you have many animals and one of them gets sick. You defo have to put chlorine in the cleaning mixture. Also when my bath stains because of dyes or cloves. Nothing else whitens it again WITHOUT scrubbing
A cheeper way to clean coolers, toilets, tubs, etc. is to use a 1/2 cup baking soda, 1/2 salt, 1 cup vinager. Does the same thing as those tables and its already in your kitchen. For disinfecting counter spray use hydrogen peroxide.
Shower gel doesn't work as long. The bar soap works partially because the hard soap itself sticks and stays in place, thus keeping more of the scent in the places you put it. The gel has lots of water to make the gel and disappears fairly quickly thus taking the scent away fairly quickly as well.
Also to keep coffee pots from getting calcium and other gunk built up,don't run sink water in it. Use only bottled water or other purified or natural spring water
I'd advize against using Irish spring as bug spray for skin, although I see the use of it as a plant soap to scrub off pest eggs and drive off pest. Putting soap on skin without rinsing it off has all kinds of itch-and-dryness related effects, plugs pores and can actually stick more grime to the body. Think of people with sensitive skin who have to be extra careful that they carefully select laundry soaps and that washed clothing is super rinsed; soap facilitates the cleening and disinfecting process, but even the best soaps are designed to be rinsed off the body.
HOPEFULLY they will at some point bath or shower. This is temporary. Don't people spray other bug repellent on their skin? This far less harmful. Life is full of love.
@@TheEntrepreneur101 Exactly. I live in Texas where we have tons of mosquitoes. I'm definitely going to be trying this. I'd try this over chemicals any day.
So, after listening to you, and then poking fun at my wife because she has your same northern Midwestern accent, which I find absolutely adorable. I started thinking and came up with a question. Wouldn't it work to take the spray bottle with the Irish Spring solution and spray it around the door frame, or wherever you needed that scent but didn't want any visible traces of the soap? It seems like it would be a much cleaner application, so you wouldn't see any residue like you would when rubbing it on like a big crayon, or springing the shavings around. Not to mention, applying it would be so much quicker and easier, and you could apply it whenever you noticed its effectiveness beginning to diminish. This time of year in the Phoenix area we get a lot of flies bussing in through our sliding patio door, so I'm thinking I might try making a water solution and spraying it all around the patio area. I'm absolutely going to try this. THANK YOU for this awesome Irish Spring tip.

I've been using denture tablets instead of alka seltzer. Is alka seltzer more powerful and would do a better job on the items you showed? Great video!
Woman, I thought I'd heard it all, but this... THANK YOU!! Purely, deeply, truly, THANK YOU!!
I've used denture tablets for some of the things you used Alka seltzer for. It remove stains and smells minty.
I do aS well, after my father passed I had stock in denture tabs & found several great use for them around the house making life much easier maintaining the home.
We put Irish Spring on our tires of vehicals that we are not driving, same with our travel trailer, too, it keeps mice away too.
Oh do tires attract mice?
I tried it for the mice problem, it is not working..
@@jewellenhart7717 walmart has rat poison pellets. Don't they work?
Mice will eat wires in your engine causing thousands. The wires in the car are coated in soy.
@@jewellenhart7717 I use mint essential oil on cotton balls put them in cracks etc. Mice hate it. I'm in the rural woods and watch them flee for it.
Great idea. I'm definitely going to try this to get rid of squirrels.
Great hacks.......and BTW.....beautiful patio chairs!!!!!!!
Dang! what have I been doing wrong. This lady helped me more ways than one. wow
I’m going to try the Irish spring soap around my plants , I believe the squirrels have been messing with them. Thank you for your video
Why would anyone wanna smell like that that's nasty asf
OK Irish Spring and Alka-Seltzer we bout to do some things TFS!!!
To our surprise the chunks of "Irish" soap were gathered together near a plant after we had scattered a previous night before. Some critter evidently knew the "hack" and showed us who's boss.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😭😂😭😂
LOL
Too funny
That's hilarious 😂
Thank you for sharing this wonderful message it really help for again thanks
Nice and cheap way to put bugs off. I particularly hate flies, coming in the house, I put bleach in the toilet bowls and kitchen bins . I also use lavender and eucalyptus oil in drawers and cupboards, to stop moths. Thank you X; )
How do you put the oil in the drawers n cupboards? Do you place it directly on them or do you place cotton balls with it?
I use Parmigiano jars for baking soda in refrigerator
I think you can also use baking soda and vinegar to clean and a lot cheaper! :) Also Dawn and vinegar are great for the kitchen and bathroom.
Baking soda scrubs but it’s not soap
It doesn’t clean
Vinegar isn’t a cleaner either just rinses well
@@YeshuaKingMessiah qeiiwieqeiqeweiqewiwe
@YeshuaMyKing combine them and they work very well
@YeshuaMyKing mixed together it does the same thing as the Alka-Seltzer. I use baking soda and cheap white vinegar in my sinks and bathrooms to clean and help unclog pipes.
I'm going to get a couple of soap bars and give it a try.
Me too!
Wow. Interesting tip. Thanks!!
Thank you for sharing these unique tips
Cool beans, thank you! When you were putting it around your plant it looked like the soil on the moon 😂. Another thing that works well in the toilet and bathroom sink is denture cleaners. I'll have to try the Alka-Seltzer.
You can also wash yourself with it! Amazing.
So helpful. Thank you very much!
Your decor and home is so cute.
Surprisingly, this actually works, I've used it for years, results may vary depending on the craziness of the squirrel 😅
Yes! Depends because in philly ; we have hood squirrels who fight people and cats so Irish springs is not stopping them . Also, I'm afraid if the stray cats may eat it and get sick
@@samyljones3871 lol, hood squirrels, we have those too 😅 I expect to be mugged every time I shoo them away 😂
🤗🐿
A friend who grew up on a farm told me they cut green Irish Spring soap bard into 4 and set them outside close to bacement windows and on sides of doors outside and it keeps mice out.
Love your cone timer🍦.
Wow great video.
Glad i read the comments. I found 2 cases of denture tablets on one of my refuse rescue trips and wondered if they would work in place of alka seltzer.
Finding that they do.... has my cleaning wheels turning. Lol
Laundry staims??
Upolstry stains??
Outdoor yard ornaments...
I have pecan trees... So for part of the summer everything is covered in black sap.
Excited to see what all it can do.
I live in the south so i
Cant wait to see how the irish soap hacks work
Love the Irish Spring hack👍 thanks
Thank you so much for sharing!! This hack is amazing ❤
for those here in South Africa watching this, I looked up Sunlight bar soap and it has much of the same ingredients INCLUDING geranium extract which really does repel rats, its also in citronella and is the base ingredient in the German rat spray for your car Molly something or other. :)
Thank you 💜
Thank you.I also thouth maybe sunlight will help
love all the Irish spring uses but the alka seltzer not so much. Too expensive when you can do the same with baking soda and if need be for stubborn stains, a bit of white vinegar to the mix and it's magic. Thanks so much for all your suggestions.
Irish Spring...
Manly Yes...
But I like it too!
Wow, definitely trying these hacks!
Excellent hacks, thank you for sharing😊
Wow. What a great idea! Thank you....
This reminds me of the dad on My Big Fat Greek Wedding with his Windex. 😂
😄 HaHa
Used it for everything lmbo yes that was funny 😆
I liked your presentation. I hadn't thought to use Alka Seltzer to clean. Cool.
Anyone notice what appears to be a blue glass marble stuck in the soil at 1:17 into the video?
Saturn!
Yeah, it just happened to be there as I read your comment. Hmmm...
I ADD MARBLES IN MY GARDEN ALL THE TIME..MAKES IT LOOK🥰 PRETTY🙏🏻🙋🏼♀️💜
Those are the glass flat beads/marbles you can get in a bag at Walmart, Michaels and probably Dollar Tree. They're used for decorating and crafting.
I use glass marbles for mulch in potted plants outdoors. Seems to assist in keeping plants moist and also helps keep warm in spring on chilly days. Or so I think.
Thank you Blessings always
Thank you kindly for sharing 👍
Wow! I am definitely going to try this!
If you are putting shavings of soap around your plants, when you wet your plants, won't there be damage to the root of the plant, or kill the plant all together?
yes, I wondered that also.
Denture cleaners are great for the bad water stains in a toilet bowl too
Thank You definitely gonna try💯🤗
I can believe that bugs hate Irish Spring. My regular soap was discontinued so I bought a bar 20 years ago. Unwrapped it and placed it in the shower for the next morning. 2:00 am - I woke up with my sinuses on fire - because of that soap - 2 rooms away! Got up, picked it up with a plastic bag so I didn't have to touch it and carried it outside to the trash can so I could get some sleep.
@Clifton Mcnally. Such a shame for you!! What a reaction 😅
Yep! Can’t stand it but it does work for the bugs etc!!
@Clifton McNally. I had a friend years ago who was very allergic to Ivory soap. She broke out in a terrible rash. 99 and 100% pure didn’t work for her.
@@libbyworkman3459 I can't use it either. Just washing my hands in it regularly would cause the skin on my palms to start peeling. I'm also allergic to lanolin.
😂😂😂😂 I needed that laugh 😂😂
I need to use Irish Spring for my sinks
What does that do to butterflys and bees? If it repells bugs will it kill them?
I hang chunks of Irish Spring in my apple and orange trees, to keep the squirrel's out.
Works well....
That seltzer hack is nice!!! I'm going to have to try this at some point. Been using a bit of chlorine on my tea cups and spoons. Not very healthy.
I remember when I was younger my mom used to do the same thing,. Maybe run your dishes through the dishwasher
@@maggiesmith4699 i dont use dishwashers. Im kinda against them. I think they are appliances that should only be used on like occasions like christmas or thanksgiving where you did a lot of work and shouldnt have to wash all that mess by hand. I find them to be a place where bacteria and mould can build up and you just don't notice plus using all that extra electricity... Just not for me
@@Anarky 😂
Restaurants are mandated to have chlorine in the water when washing dishes etc also don't forget chlorine is used to purify water.
Hi
Is it 1/2 cup salt?
Regarding the Irish Spring bug spray hack...can you use the Irish Spring shower gel for the same effect?
Shower gel doesn't work as long. The bar soap works partially because the hard soap itself sticks and stays in place, thus keeping more of the scent in the places you put it. The gel has lots of water to make the gel and disappears fairly quickly thus taking the scent away fairly quickly as well.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing!
I was thinking of denture cleaner tabs instead of Alka Seltzer!
What a cool witch!!
Funny, that they hate the smell of Irish Spring....and it smells so good!!!! 🤣🤣
Also, this gave me an amazing idea of something to make!! 👀👏🏼
Good tips! Thank you!
It's lovely on my pasta too. Gives it a certain zing taste.
🤣🤣🤣 Lol
You put soap in your pasta?
😖🤮😶🌫️
Not the perfumed kind though.
@@maggiesmith4699 Yes. I putta the soapa ona mia pasta!
Brilliant!! Thank you!😁😁😁👏👏👏
Also to keep coffee pots from getting calcium and other gunk built up,don't run sink water in it. Use only bottled water or other purified or natural spring water
Distilled water only
I love Irish spring original soap
It's puke juice, gosh awful smell. ALSO, people should be fully warned if you using in where they could touch or accidently ingest. Dangerous
TM - soap cleans because it breaks the surface tension and then things will rinse out clean.
@@TheEntrepreneur101 Exactly. I live in Texas where we have tons of mosquitoes. I'm definitely going to be trying this. I'd try this over chemicals any day.
Even more, it's a deodorizing soap, which is also not good for the skin.
I use denture cleaning tablets for all the hacks you mention. They work very well and are cheaper than the Alka Selzer tablets.
Does the Irish spring work on indoor plants to get rid of the bugs ?
What kind of bugs do you get in your indoor plants, sometimes I get certain bugs in mind?
