You know when it comes to vacuums we really should raise our voices and ask these companies to make all removable rollers so that we not only can take the hairs off or whatever but wash them for crying out loud! Who wants to go over a rug that they maybe have shampooed or even a floor that they mopped with the same dirt y germ infested brush roll? What's up with all these companies that make these vacuumes ? ? ? ALL VACUUMS SHOULD COME WITH REMOVABLE AND I MEAN EASILY REMOVABLE BRUSH ROLLS !
Time to write emails, or on their websites. I agree. My hair is long and fine and is an absolute nightmare to get out of the brush roller. It's way worse than the cat fur or even threads.
I have tried out the toilet bowl cleaner on cleaning the grout and it does work. I also used it on the shower walls. I had great tenants so ckeaning was not a huge issue since they were very clean. I had a house that I rented out to a family of 4. They lived there for 18yrs and I can honestly say that I never had a problem with their rent. The man was always on time with the rent. His wife took good care of the house and property. They moved out when they bought a house. I was heartbroken to see them go but happy for them. I know not every person that rents out property gets good tenants. I was lucky. I now rent that same house to an elderly couple and one pet. It's very sad when some renters who destroy property by not cleaning and adding junk around the outside or inside the property really mess it up for other people. All I can say to property owners who rent is to be on your toes and always check your properties. It's your most valued investment.
My parents house was rented to a couple who destroyed the house. Literally destroyed. Had animals, dogs, cats, a pig, living inside. It took 5- 20ft dumpsters to clean out the mess. They destroyed every bathroom. Every wall. Every light fixture. Every wall.
Remember that to disinfect with alcohol it must be 70% or higher… also it needs to dry on its own so don’t wipe the surface dry or you have simply cleaned it not disinfected it.
Yes! Dwell time! The disinfectant needs time to infiltrate the cell membranes of the little microscopic nasties with which we reluctantly co-exist. The disinfectant makes its way through the other organelles, destroying them, and to the nucleus where the DNA resides. Bye-bye nasty!
both of those caught my eye as well! and the grout one as well! Ya gotta be careful tho, I tried one that said to try using turtle wax on grout in the shower to keep it from getting, well, you know. It works but it was really hard to get the colour out!
WARNING: Always protect the surface your working on. Alcohol will leave a white spot on varnish, it is flammable and it may damage certain surfaces such as delicate fabrics.. It is always a good idea to test in a inconspicuous spot first. : D
If your cat has too much loose hair, simply coat the cat in varnish or nail polish and allow to set. Now your cat has a nice hard outer coating, like a Smartie! Once a year, just cut the fur under the crunchy coating, and remove the outer shell. Set aside the coating to be used as a nice cat planter. Re-coat your cat, and never be bothered again with floating cat fluff throughout the home. Try this out on a neighbour’s cat first, to see how well it works for you. Have fun. Please always keep a sense of humour close by, as this will come in handy.
Very useful hacks. My vacuum gets tons of hair caught because of our long hair. I use a seam ripper to cut the hairs off the rollers. It cuts tough the hairs easier.
8:07 so the ink doesn't bleed through after the alcohol treatment, put some folded up paper or a plastic zip lock bag between the layers...Remove before washing, obviously. Blotter paper would work even better but I don't think you can get it anymore...
I think the rubber glove would work to remove pet hair from fabric without using the stick hairspray - I wouldn't want the residue on the textiles. I wonder if silver polish would be safer for your silverware over the long run. Hairspray also works well on ink-stained fabric, especially if treated quickly and before washing the garment. Magic erasers are also great for removing marks from painted surfaces.

Hey, here's a toilet "tip" that might help some people. If you have a toilet/toilet tank that won't stop "sweating" (regardless if the tank is insulated or not) you can get an anti-sweat valve from your local hardware/plumbing store. It has a hot and a cold inlet and a mixed outlet. The temperature of the water can be adjusted, so you don't melt your wax seal.
The best trick for getting deodorant off your clothes is by rubbing with dry pantyhose or knee-hi’s. It doesn’t stretch the area out, doesn’t leave any fiber transfer like with a cloth, and takes only seconds. Thank you for the rest of the tips! I just made the essential oil spray.
Or rinse in the sink after. Before you wash. If you are using regular powdered laundry soaps you can make a paste with water put area of clothing to be soaked in to a bowl and pour the paste and let sit over night wash the next day. Don't dry clothes that have a stain until you check to see it the stain is gone. Use Vinegar in your towels instead of fabric softener. You can even pour some on a clean wash cloth and use it like a dryer sheet. Just keep using the same wash cloth. I have white ones just for that. Colored ones for washing you. Also keeps your washer and dryer from smelling stinky.
I’ve always put a dime size or less of baking soda in my boys shoes. Takes the smell right out! And keeps it good for a week or so. I didn’t know toothpaste had so many uses! The only thing I’d use toothpaste for was if I got a pimple. I tried everything u can think of to help with my pimples. The only thing that worked was dabbing a tiny bit of toothpaste on it after a shower. It burned but it was always gone the next day! Thanks for the tips!
DONT PUT DISH SOAP IN YOUR WASHING MACHINE! Rinse it first or you will have suds foaming out the front! There is a good reason the soap for your machines is a low foam soap. A much better way to disinfect your pillows (especially old foam chip ones) is to sew them into new pillow cases and then toss them into the dryer with a scent you like in whatever form you prefer on a high heat for a short period of time ( 10 minutes MAX!). All bacteria and mites etc will be dead. Then hang them outside in the sun for and hour and fluff and beat so the dust and hair etc. will come out. BOOM, like new! Dont use toothpaste on your silver as the toothpaste is actually taking silver OFF!!
I can absolutely confirm not putting laundry soap in the dishwasher. About 25 years ago, my first date with who would be my husband, I invited him to my place for dinner. I ran out of dishwasher soap and had to run it so 19 year old me thought I had a brilliant idea. When I was growing up in the 70's (yep I'm that old) my younger sister ad cousin decided to make the paneling in the bathroom into a canvass. I didn't want my Ma to see it when she got home so I literally tried everything in the cabinet to try and get it off, the toothpaste did the trick. My daughter loses hair at a stupid level I honestly don't know why she isn't bald, I've been taking the scissors and tweezers after my vacuum roller for years. The tweezers help get things out of the very end where your scissors won't reach.
Someone up further mentioned *a stitch ripper* (a sewing notion that often comes with sewing items like scissors and thread, and thimbles) in craft/sewing stores. I'm going to try that. Tweezers are a great idea for getting a hold of those pesky bits.
I buy cheap toothpaste at the dollar store for so many uses around the house! Ironically I DONT USE IT ON MY TEETH! I havent used it on my teeth for about 5 years now on the advice from a dentist! I also havent had my teeth cleaned for almost 10 years! My teeth have been extremely sensitive ever since a bad dentist ground my teeth to try to make them fit together better and I lost so much enamel. Soooo I stopped eating all nuts and nut butters and brushing with toothpaste and having my teeth cleaned and boy has it made a big difference! I now use toothpaste only to clean my sinks and stove etc! hahaha
Blood on clothes ... hydrogen peroxide will foam up the blood, making it much lighter. Try it again ... and then throw it in the washing machine. Works every time.
Your own spit will lighten and remove a blood stain if: 1. it's your own blood and 2. it's a small amount. The enzymes in your spit breaks down the blood.
Rinsing clothes in cold water will remove fresh blood stains ... but i haven't found ANYTHING that will effectively completely remove old dried up blood stains.
Congratulations on the success of your channel, these are the kind of videos that have mass appeal. So many uses for toothpaste, it’s also great for cleaning headlights.
The Dawn Power wash is great for stains! Rubber gloves alone will remove pet hair. Instead of toothpaste, use a baking soda paste for most of what you use the toothpaste for. I don't mean to critique this video, but its all common sense which, I know is very much lacking these days. Sometimes I get a lot from watching these, sometimes not. Blessings to all 🥰

FYI rubbing alcohol doesn't work for certain genetic profiles... white vinegar works for O and A blood types. B and AB alcohol and non caffeine used tea bags work too. Different blood types have different pH norms.
A piece of felt that goes under a chair door? I think you mean a chair leg... 🤣 You also don't need to spray hairspray on a glove to remove pet hair from fabric or furniture. All that does is smear sticky hairspray everywhere... Just use plain water and it works just as well. I usually don't even wet the glove, any of those "yellow" gloves work fine dry. Put a towel between the layers of a t-shirt before you spray or rub anything into a stain, otherwise you're just rubbing the stain from one side of the shirt to the other. Don't use toothpaste on good silver - you could clearly see all of the scratches in that pan left from the toothpaste. Quit being cheap and go buy some silver cleaner, it's not expensive.
True. What is in there and we are supposed to put it in our mouths? Just like Coca Cola which can clean a toilet bowl and tenderise meat yet billions guzzle it down daily. Amazing!
A clean dishwashing glove is all you need., Hairspray is not necessary. Once you feel the glove begins to maybe get a little Dusty., Just rinse the glove underwater., dry it so it'll get that tacky & rubbery feel again and continue on.
I saw a cleaning hint elsewhere that suggested using a squeegee that has that plastic or rubber edge (to clean off windows or glass). It works very well on short pile items, as long as you can maintain a certain fabric tension as you drag it across. I've used it very successfully on carpet and rugs to lift up and kind of "roll up" animal fur.
@@briannab5296 You could always wipe off the glove with a brush into the rubbish bin. That's what I did with the squeegee method, or just collected it up and threw it into the bin; or used the dustpan and brush if there was a little pile of it. One of my sinks has a plug drainer. So not too much would go down anyway if I did the rinse method.
@@briannab5296 The thing is you don't rinse the hair on the gloves down the drain.... What I do is rub the gloves together until the hairs becomes a little ball and it all comes together ( it gets a little static after doing that but you figure out a good way to get it off like using a small piece of paper to pick off the gloves., After that I use a lint roller to pick up the rest of the little hairs on the gloves and after that.., thats when you rinse off the rest of the little left behind small particles of dust and get it tacky again., Whala ! Maybe I'll make a video.
My 2 favorite bathroom cleaning hacks...shaving cream will get rid of urine smells around the base of the toilet and blue Dawn and a clean broom are fantastic for cleaning a fiberglass tub if you can't get on your knees to scrub (rinse thoroughly)
0:53, it didn't improve the grout to its original colour, it cleaned it to the best you could hope for, seeing as it's been there for years! It's marginally cleaner, defo NOT as white as when the grout had been put there originally!

Rubbing alcohol and baking soda yeah it works. but that rubbing alcohol can also just color your clothes your fabric of whatever you're spraying it on. Clear vinegar half water vinegar disinfects it also deodorizes on whites it can still discolor but on most fabrics and colors it does nothing to delete the colors like rubbing alcohol does.
Thanks for the tips. Especially the nail polish hack. The first coat always dries fine but the second coat always gets imprints from blankets, socks whatever…even if I wait hours before going to bed or putting socks on!
For crayon, ink, marker, or fresh water based-based paint spots on carpet, use Deep Woods Off from a pump bottle. You can even use it to take permanent marker off of a white board, but you probably want to use non-scented. 😄
Thanku for the tips. I tried the gloves (i used the blue disposable gloves)without the hairspray works great! For my toilets and sinks, I use the blue dawn. I pour in wait 10 min then pour hot water wait 10 min the flush through. Works great. Scrub with it too 😊
I use a cat slicker brush with the shorter 1/2in metal bristles to remove pet hair from just about everything, even the carpet before vacuuming. Vacuuming is much easier afterwards.
Also - a sponge lifts hair too & with a little diluted carpet cleaner will freshen at the same time. Or a shoe or slipper with a patterned sole (on or off the foot) lightly circled on a carpet will roll hair & fluff into balls that can be lifted off. A light & even sprinkling of baking powder on a carpet makes vacuuming it more methodical & effective.
@@wildlifeathome My cats are moulting now so I see big tufts on rugs & mats - I use a 'litter grabber' to pick the tufts up & drop into a pile or straight into a bin. Grabber also worked when one was a tiny kitten & I needed to catch her for a trip to the vet. Closed on her little neck so I could pick her up! Find a grabber works well in the garden for weeding too.
Though I swear by Dawn Spray, Awesome cleaner or just bleach, I cleaned the tub for an elderly man who hadn't done so in years. I was prepared to scrape soap scum with a straight razor but was pleasantly surprised by this hack- The Works toilet rim cleaning gel for hard water deposits. It started foaming & dissolving build up instantly! It even took off rust stains. The only thing is that it turns the silver drain to a shade of pewter, which honestly looked less cheap if you ask me. For super tough jobs like a Sharpie marker on a toy doll I use carburator cleaner, just patch test first.
I have always been told to take a dry erase marker and go over the sharpie marks and it will remove the ink when wiped away. Give it a try. I e done it on hard surfaces, but not on fabrics.
De-ice; it’s not good to put dish soap outside on walkway, it can bleed into the grass and kill it. Best to use coal cinders and calcium. The coal cinders ‘evaporate’ the ice, not just melt it. The area will be ice free in just hours. Most townships that use coal cinders will allow the public to fill a bag for free to do their driveways and walkways.
Do NOT use red Koolaid in your toilet. It can stain the bowl. Like dumping red wine on white carpet and leaving it.
Ah yeah! Dawn dish soap & water it'll still freeze!

@@Kayenne54 seam ripper cleans the vacumn roller great and easily.
I now use toothpaste only to clean my sinks and stove etc! hahaha
@@justachick3114 But what do you use to clean your teeth?
Wait. You don't clean your teeth AT ALL?
Blood on clothes ... hydrogen peroxide will foam up the blood, making it much lighter. Try it again ...
and then throw it in the washing machine. Works every time.
Your own spit will lighten and remove a blood stain if: 1. it's your own blood and 2. it's a small amount. The enzymes in your spit breaks down the blood.
Rinsing clothes in cold water will remove fresh blood stains ... but i haven't found ANYTHING that will effectively completely remove old dried up blood stains.
Thank you! Very helpful
Congratulations on the success of your channel, these are the kind of videos that have mass appeal. So many uses for toothpaste, it’s also great for cleaning headlights.
Great tips, Thank you, I especially liked the young man getting his injury cooled with the pack he has a lovely smile 😂👍👏
Blessings to all 🥰
dont use toilet cleaner on the tiles, it will destory the grout. Use the pink stuff its natural and will not affect the grout.
Not to mention the strong smell
Hi, happy New Year. Many thanks for making and uploading this video and others.
Just a tip dont use coloured dishsoap as stainremover on white clothes.. use colourfree dishsoap.. otherwise the soapcolour might make a new stain.
Such brilliant solutions! I'm subbing and saving this video.. Thank you!

Thanks for the cleaning hacks.
FYI rubbing alcohol doesn't work for certain genetic profiles... white vinegar works for O and A blood types. B and AB alcohol and non caffeine used tea bags work too. Different blood types have different pH norms.
Never thought of that wow ty
A piece of felt that goes under a chair door? I think you mean a chair leg... 🤣
You also don't need to spray hairspray on a glove to remove pet hair from fabric or furniture.
Amen!
Excellent information …ty
Thanks, o learned some new tips that I needed to. Thanks
It kinda scary somewhat that toothpaste is such a fantastic cleanering and bleaching agent 😅
True. What is in there and we are supposed to put it in our mouths?
Just like Coca Cola which can clean a toilet bowl and tenderise meat yet billions guzzle it down daily. Amazing!
It's also good to cool insect bites!
@@janetmackinnon3411 That, and cold cream.
An old fashioned bar of gels naphtha soap rubbed in stains and scrubbed with brush works great on stains
I think it’s Fels Naptha Soap. Most likely found at hardware stores.
Awesome thanks! 👍
Wont rinsing all that hair & dust down the drain cause clogs??
I knew most of these, but there were a few new ones that I might use. Thanks !

Use a seam ripper on your vacuum roller it works better than scissors
0:53, it didn't improve the grout to its original colour, it cleaned it to the best you could hope for, seeing as it's been there for years! It's marginally cleaner, defo NOT as white as when the grout had been put there originally!

Sounds like you're getting paid.
Hand cream on a key, slide in and out the lock a few times, good as new.
Nailpolish dryer quickly. Place your polished nails under a small stream of cold running water from the faucet for 20 seconds.
COLD water.

Hairspray works great on pen ink
Thanks for the tips. Especially the nail polish hack. The first coat always dries fine but the second coat always gets imprints from blankets, socks whatever…even if I wait hours before going to bed or putting socks on!
Something else that helps to dry wet nails is to run them in a pot of icy water or run nails under cold water.
@@cindyb3028 ... i think i'd like your idea better than to have sticky hairspray all over my fingers.

For crayon, ink, marker, or fresh water based-based paint spots on carpet, use Deep Woods Off from a pump bottle. You can even use it to take permanent marker off of a white board, but you probably want to use non-scented. 😄
Very cool thank you
I know all of this hacks but the folk part wow, thank you, best idea ever
Hairspray works on ink stains on clothing too!
Tyfs! I need to try this . . I'm drowning in cat hair EVERYwhere!
@@ddempsey9642 Any hack to help with hair removal is a good hack!
Cheers!
A shower squeegee works AMAZING for removing pet hair from a carpet.
Great video My friend
Thanks!! I’ll be using some of these!
Toothpaste is AWESOME 👏🏻
De-ice; it’s not good to put dish soap outside on walkway, it can bleed into the grass and kill it. Best to use coal cinders and calcium. The coal cinders ‘evaporate’ the ice, not just melt it. The area will be ice free in just hours. Most townships that use coal cinders will allow the public to fill a bag for free to do their driveways and walkways.
