I had recently been hospitalized twice within a two week span , had been sick for awhile . When I was finally home and feeling better the house needed cleaning . I take a plastic bowl or Tupperware and put in baking soda , Dawn and distilled white vinegar..then a blue scrub pad and went in the shower from top to bottom cleaned the whole thing in no time , even use the scrub pad with my foot on the floor of the shower to stop from having t9o bend over then rinse it all out with a cup to get it rinsed. Done , then using the same mixture scrubbed the toilet ..let sit if you desire but just perfectly clean.. using the same mixture on the sink , kitchen sink even when it’s gone it’s in the scrub pad and just gets everything clean. The scrub pad I didn’t use on the toilet I used a clean silicone toilet brush for the inside then just wipe down the entire outside . If you have shower glass the same just takes off soap scum , mildew the scrub pad fits in the track to get that clean. If you have a dirty pan cooked from dinner whether burnt on or just extra dirty take baking soda and distilled vinegar and pour in the pan wait 5 min or leave as long as you like …takes everything out with no scrubbing . Adding the Dawn just makes it a powerhouse and …not toxic just clean ..no fumes . 💕
@@GildaLee27 I have wondered about that, since one is acid and the other is alkali. They do foam up together in a chemical reaction, but it seems like they'd cancel each other out once the foaming action is done.
I wash my dog in Dawn because it cleans his skin and hair and I condition his skin with a conditioner for sensitive skin. He doesn’t itch at all . Dawn also kills ticks & flees👍🏽👍🏽
My sister taught me a trick for taking out fabric stains - wine spills, blueberry stains, blood stains etc. - especially good for organic stains. Mix Dawn Blue with hydrogen peroxide, about 1:2 ratio, so, heavier on the peroxide. Mix well and put it in a spray bottle. Whenever you have a stain, spray it with the mixture until well soaked, and rub for a few seconds to distribute. Let sit for however long - I usually just do this before tossing clothes in the hamper. Then load into the washing machine for a cold water wash. Works exceedingly well, especially if you do it soon after the spill happens. She once spilled a whole glass of red wine on my light khaki cargo pants. She used this trick, repeating it once over because the stain was so extensive. Pants cane out like new. I keep a spray bottle full of the stuff in the bathroom and use it every week (I'm a little messy). Note: after a day or two the liquid will turn from blue to clear, as the peroxide bleaches out the blue coloring in the detergent, but this doesn't affect its efficacy, it just shows how peroxide removes colors.
I like to pour it down the drain in the sinks ,also the toliett bowl ,I have a Spray bottle ,I put a small amount with vinegar and clean windowsill ❤❤😊,garbage cans anything dirty ,it works wonders.
I've got a few more, too. Dawn is great at cleaning dirty LEGO ( just be careful with stickered parts you want to keep stickered), billiard balls, and kitchen hoods. Kitchen hoods usually get nasty, covered in a mixture of aerosolized grease (from simply cooking) and dust (which is mostly dead cells of skin). Dawn and a stiff brush works great. Use it to clean vacuum chamber insulated beverage containers like Stanley's and Thermoses because they can start to smell and running in the dishwasher not only won't clean them but can also ruin them. And of course use Dawn for cleaning cleaning tools. Everything from mops, brushes and brooms to washable parts of machines like carpet cleaners, power washers and stuff. Get big bottles or cases of regular size bottles because of how useful it is. And empty bottles of Dawn can be used for the solutions used to pretreat stains in the laundry room, the garage, and for carpets.
Do not mistake using any other color of Dawn. Only BLUE is detergent, GREEN & ORANGE are hand soaps. Read the back label. I was shocked! And all stores stock these right next to the blue!
We had 4 little homeless kittens one time. A nearby pet store said they would take the kittens and find them a good home but once they looked at the kittens they told us to take kittens home and bathe them with DAWN dish washing liquid that it would kill fleas. So we did. One by one. They turned out so fluffy and soft. They were so adorable. But the dawn does kill fleas. Just make sure you rinse your pets really well.

Mix white vinegar and salt in a sprayer, (Vinegar is already diluted. No need to add water unless you want to.) add a few drops of Dawn. Use on poison oak/ivy or any other weed you want gone. Poison oak/ivy have an oily protective coating that protects them from most sprays. Dawn cuts through that, the vinegar and salt then cheaply burn the plant into non existence. I have never needed to apply the mixture more than twice. As with any weed killer, watch your overspray. 🙂
I remember when Dawn actually worked. Growing up with a lot of siblings, doing chores was a must. 3 to 5 drops of Dawn would clean a full sink of dishes, maybe 2. So last time I bought Dawn ultra Platinum "4x grease cleaning power" yeah that crap cost more, and doesn't work well at all! I can't get the greasy off of 1 load of dishes, or even clean the grease of of my dish cloth. I had to use bleach and laundry detergent just to cut the grease. So last time I just bought Ajax. I suggest either using the original Dawn, or seek a better option. That my experience with today's dawn products.
I use dawn for almost everything,I don't buy any other dish soap because they don't even come close to being that effective, 😮 it's not just for dishes I can't begin to list how many things have used dawn on
My grandma was the best about getting out stains on everything! She always used bar soap. I did too. So since she did that, i used Dawn at a early age to get stains out of my childrens clothes. I don't ever buy stain remover.
Dawn also works great if you have oily/greasy hair and removes build up on scalp....don't use everyday but if you have very oily hair every 4-5 days is great...especially if you use a lot of product in your hair( Gels, hairsprays) It does dry out the hair so you do need to use a light conditioner afterward. There are only about 2 shampoos on the market for oily hair and I still think Dawn is the best. Only the BLUE ORIGINAL is good for all these uses...
It’s really not expensive when you consider that it only takes a few drops of Daw, but it takes more of another brand. Less waste, more uses and a quality product.
