7 Black emblems + Shell Bell / Energy Amp at lv20 makes Icy Wind infinite at lv11. You can cast it again before the crystals disappear, so it never has downtime. Gonna test them at lv30 to see if I can get it at lv9. Glaceon is easily B/A tier with this set, and I don't have any issues. Glad to see a balanced mon hit the game running.
It might be infinite uptime, but still feels a bit clunky it should have some cdr on freeze dry or something to stick more to enemies, i actually like Icy wind more when i run it with Ice shard, cause that way i have damage and something to do while Icy wind is not up and also the little movement speed boost is situationally better for kiting than Freeze dry’s slow/stun
Yup I was just testing it. You have icy wind up permanently and you can cast it again right before loosing the crystals.
I easily agree with you but no need to test, I've been running that build at 30 the whole time. You can start keeping it up forever at lv8 of you're fast enough it's guaranteed at 10

I think the freeze on Freeze-Dry needs to be much quicker. It's rare to actually get the freeze now because enemies don't just stand in one spot for that long (unless you're flash cannon duraludon). They should also figure out a way to make the unite synergize with Icy Wind better. The unite itself doesn't do much damage. It's the synergy with Icicle Spear that does the real damage.
Agreed on the unite move. With Freezer Dry, if they make the freeze faster, then the bonus damage amount should be cut down to compensate
I have an idea, what if they just make Icy Wind reduce its cooldown when hitting all Ice Crystals, now when used with her Unite Move, Glaceon can just jump around like crazy.
@@DeeDee-yr7yu get about 3 shotgun type attacks in a unite and that would seem pretty appropriate

Yeah,the lack of synergy with unite move is the biggest concern here.
note about icy wind: icy wind's attack counts as a basic attack, however icicle spear isn't. And knowing how absol's pursuit dash counts as a separate attack, icy wind could possibly get boosted further with razor claw.
I was having a lot more success with Icy Wind than Spear, regardless of what other move I took, when I played on the test server. I think the constant uptime and dash make it so much easier to get the hits you need rather than having to build up your spears. That's the only reason I can think of that I was outputting so much more damage and getting so many more kills. It's a travesty that it Icy Wind doesn't seem to synergize with the ult in any way like Spear does. Huge missed opportunity imo. There's no reason I can see that they shouldn't work the same. Can't wait to be able to bring Glaceon into ranked. Almost there

different circumstances, Jake broke it as Drednaw was up to slow the enemy team from arriving . That wasn’t the case with Lucario .

Yeah I was breaking before dred so they didn’t have positioning on the fight. I’m saying the overdunk wasn’t solid. It’s not the end of the world but I’m mostly keeping track of the score when I’m talking about stuff like that.

I run choice specs, shell bell & energy amp w/ an X Attack & the opposite build. I love shredding with icicle spear & ice shard. So much fun! Love the content!

No sustain item? If you play solo and can't guarantee a defender, you're gonna need Focus/Buddy/Potion
to each their own, I’ve been playing ranked and it’s usually top lane with another attacker. Makes for top lane domination, clear rotom, rotate with unite move to dred. Seems to work for me
BRO, ICICLE SPEAR IS NUTS, KILLS ANY DREDNAW AND ROTOM INSTANTLY, I USED ENERGY AMP, AND CRIT BUILD, NO CRIT EMBLEMS. I UNITED DREDNAW/ROTOM AND FLUFFY TAILED THEM, ICICLE SPEAR ON THE UNITE ICE ZONE, INSTA KILL. OML IT'S SO OP. IT DOESN'T WORK ON LAST DREDNAW/ROTOM(ONLY 6% OF THEIR HEALTH LEFT) IT TOOK ZAPDOS DOWN TO 60% JUST BY ICICLE SPEAR+UNITE+FLUFFY OMG

I was testing out the moveset combos and Icy Wind+Freeze Dry ended up being my second fave. I'm just super glad Glaceon is in the game

I also liked this build better due to high mobility but Glaceon's Unite is actually pretty damn good with spear and very underwhelming with Icy Wind.
I wish they made Icy Wind also somehow benefit from the Unite, maybe CDR reduction when standing in your Unite?
Yeah, reduce the cooldown by 2.5 seconds while in the ult
good guide, personally i still think ice shard is better, but if that move was out of the playing feild, this move is very strong, thanks for the video.
Eevee’s Swift and the Icicles around Glaceon remind me of the Homing Soul Mass sorcery in the Dark souls Games 🤙🏼

Icicle spear and freeze dry is the build I go for, they both give me range, but with the right items and emblems to back it up it’s a very viable choice imo
I think the tipping point for Glaceon is level 6, when it gains access to Ice Shard/Freeze Dry. This way it doesn't have to rely just on boosted basics to generate ice crystals. These attacks allow it to generate crystals much more quickly.

For the cooldown page using a butterfree and a white like Pidgeotto or maybe dodrio instead of slowbro to get the bonus hp is better than getting the bonus def and spdef. As it would give less effective hp on squishier characters than the actual hp would be from white bonus
The key to icy wind is that each if crystals can crit while icicle spear doesn't at all. It absolutely needs scope lens to work since glaceon only gets crit chance naturally at late levels. It makes up for it's lower damage and surpasses icicle spear in total damage at the end of the game despite less burst per use. plus it extends your auto attack range and slows, allowing you to dance around the enemy untouched.

Ice Shard can also critically strike, using Ice Shard + Icy Wind is much more beneficial for Scope Lens

Don't see this as the superior build however I think it would be quite viable in boss rush and quick play where you can always be auto attacking something with a high degree of consistency. I do like the emblem options here and the item choices you laid out!
I think it largely depends on whether or not you're either jungling or laning. For lane Glaceon, Icy Wind is the better option since it allows you to have a secure option on top of the extra mobility. In addition, you don't need to be constantly regaining your crystals back since you can just refresh them via CD reduction emblems/items w/ Ice Wind. Basically, once you have the crystals, you never lose them. Icicle Spear however is the superior Jungle option, as once you reach the LV 6 spike after the second rotation, you're easily one of the biggest threats on the field for first Dreadnaw (especially with that easy-to-get Unite at LV 8 which basically becomes your power play option). Before LV 6, though, Icicle Spear is rather difficult to squeeze out much power from since you don't have a fast way of generating crystals, and even when you do manage to get a few, you just burn them with Icicle Spear and have to start over again, making it REALLY bad for early game lane secure compared to other early game options (of course, this handicap goes away at LV 6 with Ice Shard).
Icy Wind and Icicle Spear both have a late game presence, but in different ways. Icicle Spear is more of your classic damage-carry thing where you can take charge of the team fight and absolutely destroy most of the enemy team without too much effort (especially with the Unite). Icy Wind leans much more on the damage-support side of things where you really just try exploit opportunities created by whatever chaos your damage-carry creates and/or help create opportunities yourself for your damage-carry to start the snowball effect with (just like what 'mons like Espeon and Ninetales do). Both routes are viable options, though if I do plan on having a damage-support role, I'll usually favor Espeon due to its insane early-game secure via Psyshock, or Sylveon due to how oppressive Hyper Voice is early on (worth noting, however, that both of these 'mons lack the same kind of mobility that Icy Wind Glaceon has, so Glaceon does have a little niche it can fill here if you want to favor mobility without having to get so close with Mystical Fire Sylveon to do damage).

Other build has too much synergy with unite move to not use it, and this build even when you’re ahead feels just ok
Yeah this is better than the mystical fire of Sylveon most of the time, Stored power is 2nd, I think icy wind also is still the better move to use than stored power but at least stored power deals damage instead of nothing and adds more healing when killing a Pokemon under an effect of FS, I got a lot of boosted SP I think 4 or 5 times.
And Icy Wind is crazy good

I wish icy wind had just a short immobilise when it hits, not a full stun, like electroweb, since the slow is really not slow enough
And freeze dry needs to travel faster, and do damage over time in the area, or at least freeze faster, it feels like it basically never freezes

Watched this while working out and had to explain to my girlfriend why I was laughing at Spragels saying he can keep it up the entire match.
Do you think it's worth running eject button or maybe even movement speed to give you better chance to keep icy wind up in early fights?

Hey Spragel! Love the videos, when unite first came out I found you and loved your content but stopped playing the game. Now that I’m playing again I’ve been watching a lot of your videos again and I noticed you mention characters being good or bad at “securing” a lot like how you said early game eevee isn’t great at securing. What does this mean exactly
It basically just means finishing off something’s hp, like getting the last hit on something. Typically you would do it with a good burst move, think like electro ball or pyro ball

Question I’ve been thinking of, can a boosted auto crit?
Suppose you go 6 green, 4 brown with as much crit as possible.
Without even touching how the emblems effect, a lvl 9 glaceon boosted auto will hit for 383 same amount as a boosted duraldon auto at lvl 9.
So should these boosted effects be able to crit could glaceon become a hybrid auto attacking death sentence?

I get bugged icy wind some time, after jump the ice piece not attack at all.
I really liked Icy Wind, but the interaction between a fully stacked ice spear and yous tanding on your ult is just too huge. The other day I started wittling down rotom and I just got my ultimate so I used it. And it went down from 80% to 0 with me never stopping to shoot at it. Its insane actually.
Whenever I use icicle spear It.makes me try to imitate a razor sound.

icy wind is way to weak with a long cooldown to ever stand up to icicle spear, especially in her ult, and you having the 2 browns in your emblems is really bad because all of glaceon damage is special attack indicated by the purple damage numbers. i wont say icy wind isn't fun and doesn't have mobility but ice shard stacking icicles on autos and icicle spear dps and infinite range once the cast starts and reducing the cooldown of ice shard so you always have something ready is just better especially with 6 greens for high special attack.
Actually i found the key to icy wind, it can crit while icicle spear doesn't. It actually makes up for it's lower damage and surpasses icicle depending on how many of the 8 crystals crit. Plus it increases auto attack range and slows with 4-8 crystals, helping you to dodge and attack untouched.
@@KromeDragon trust me I have tried a crit build too. Damage is still lack luster and it's only a chance compared to the guaranteed damage of icicle spear.
