- Gengar is truly one of the biggest winners of this new map. I don't know what to do about an over leveled Gengar one shotting your team. It's just a brutal Pokemon on Theia Sky Ruins. Check out this match I played and this Hex build. Yeehaw Become a channel member today!:

I love how history repeats itself. A year ago we were complaining of how broken Gengar was and now it’s once again one of the best mons in Unite
TRUEEES
Is it good in 5 stack?
@@Just_Anup why wouldn’t it be ? Lol
@@Just_Anup it is
I’m so glad my boy gengar is in a good spot in the game, I remember it being op in the beginning to not so great afterwards, but we rose from the nerds and now taking names 👌🏽
Is it bad that gengar makes me hella mad? The damage on shadow ball/dream eater and hex/sludge bomb is actually disgusting
Loads of people on the sub complain. They're told counter plays and to git gud if they continue to moan lol.
Bro complain about Mr mime... it's still cracked after the nerf tf is wrong with the Dev's...they really need to nerf it more...if there is one mime on the team then it's like 70 per cent win...it's literally a tanky beast
@@gohcinderace8204 Yeah, good luck reacting in the second you got before getting obliterated.
@@gohcinderace8204 i can confirm that I'm a gengar main and people always stay in range of my shadow ball idk why like bro I'm a fucking gengar i can literally 2 shot you
@@icenetic4698
Mr. Mime is certainly overtuned but it's not game-winning or anything like that. It just makes it so he's almost unbeatable in 1v1s.
I like the new map. It plays more like a traditional moba now and assassins have a better workspace, however I do believe we have a balancing issue. Gengar, Mime, and Mew are a little broken
Just mime
man mew ain’t broken
Mew is fine, you just gotta learn the matchup!
Mime could use some tweaking but I don't consider the others to be too strong. Full heal is useful into most teams and basically counters gengar. I also have played gengar since day 3 of Unite so I also feel pretty confident at assessing it's weaknesses: weak early game, difficult dealing with unstoppable mons, cc, bulky mons, and high mobility targets.
Lmao why does everybody think Gengar is broken. Glaceon is broken
This is always the play. Rayquaza doesn't provide enough benefit for how long it takes to take it down. Its better to push Eleki and score, then either come back to steal Ray or recall and defend your base. Its very easy to stop Ray shields if you have teamwork. Rayquaza needs less health so that backcapping during the last fight becomes a bad play.
I've seen RayQ drop as fast as Zapdos within 20 seconds.
Gengar gamplay in a nutshell: Mash the funny move and pray it aims at the correct thing and you dodge everything because on command invincibility is fun.
If you miss sludge bomb or shadow ball you are dead in 5 seconds as Gengar. Any slippery pokemon with dash moves can counterplay it. Still good but it's a pokemon that doesn't allow any room for error.
@@NotGord Yeah, I know.
If the funny move misses, Gengar dies. If it hits, whoever got it by it is the one who dies,
Love your videos! Me and my boys watch every morning before we start the day. So much fun! They adore Pokémon and will happily watch me play Unite as they are too young still to play themselves. Love the line about looking scary 😁
Gengar is the only pokemon in the game I feel if you mess up while fighting you insta dead where as literally any other pokemon their's room for error but gengar has the least room for counter play out of all of them
Yes. You miss one move in SB+DE, you are dead. Your Hex on cooldown coz the pokemon decided to move and you missed, you are dead again.
Is this against Gengar? Because this also applies as Gengar.
@@SumireSakura hex is definitely the play now, only if you have blue buff
@@KelpyG. but what about stun cause full heal doesnt last long , i choose moves according to opposite team
Well I am having trouble with hex. I sludge bomb one pokemon and end up hex another non poisoned pokemon and my hex goes to cooldown and I die. It's been frustrating. I am more swift with SB+DE.
Gengar, sword, ttar, mime and mamo
Mamo, sword and mime for cc. Mime for heals. Sword and ttar for melee pressure. Ttar for end game shield piercing goal defending. Gengar for executions.
I was super frustrated by how easily I was destroyed by Gengar players. I main attackers that's why. So I decided to practise and practise and now I'm a gengar main. It's carrying me in my games. Honestly, it's disgusting how easily I kill other mons. When I use hex they barely have time to react most times. Unless they're a mime or mamo. My fingers are usually faster. I get above average results even when I'm playing badly, that's how broken it is.
My wife and I had a game like this. We pushed final Leiki, scored 200+ points, and regrettably died making that play happen. We were up 450+ points at this point. Meanwhile, our Blastoise is farming a back Audino (I have no clue what Pokemon these are on the new map); and two members of our team are fighting Rayquaza. They die and the enemy takes RayRay, but my wife and I are able to defend a bit. We won by 200+ points. If that was a Zap game we would have lost a game we had dominated for 8 or 9 minutes. That's that RayRay difference baby!
Well, if none of the opponents has a full heal, is squishy, and likes to stand in a group close together, Gengar surely is pretty OP :) Fun to watch, too!
gengar is broken in new map without buff due to following reasons:-
- lot of bushes
-cdr blue buff
-can take down opponets damage dealers like attacker speedsters and all rounder with no time (by costing his own life thou)
-fast objective melt
-objective steal
- great escapist and goal scrorer like talon
-he can kill opponent in his own base somewhat helpfull in regiliki push
-basically one shot man of unite
Gengar is easily one of the pokemon of all time
If we thought last meta was volatile, this one is even more. Glaceon and Gengar delete people within seconds, and Mime just CC's you to dead. Let's bow to our overlords! I've got to say Char has been functioning to me as a good counter to these mons in team fights. His unite I'm pretty sure is the one more benefitted from the changes. Every one lost their psycho mode from the buffs, but Char's Unite is psycho mode!
Psycho mode 😂
They literally nerfed charizard's ult speed buff. Just thank your local mew/mime for the speed buff.
@@MusicComet But Charizard attack speed got untouched, because he has a base speed that doesn't change no matter what. Ok, he doesn't go Lightning Mcqueen, but at least he goes King Ghidorah on everyone.
For move reselection I think they should just give you the ability to reset until you've used the move. Once you have, then it's locked in. That would avoid any shenanigans like throwing a hex then switching to dream eater for silly burst. I don't think a "you have x amount of time to switch" would work because itd be easy to abuse
Ya I was playing a match and did dream eater sludge bomb by accident . . . It did not end well
Yeah I wonder why gengar is insane, maybe its the fact that you can one shot all fucking enemy team just mashing buttons?
its doesnt look that easy as it looks you require accuracy practice iq and presence of mind for perfect handling if you messed up you gonna die
6:54 flashbacks to the frogadier sigh incident 😂
This is amazing, gengar has always been my favorite pkmn in general and now he’s busted in unite
He's always been too strong. Litterally never a weak pokemon.
@@NotGord Ya he's never been weak just other pokemon are getting stronger
"Am I sighing every time I see it, am I going "pretty accurate morty impression"
I wish my sighs sounded like cartoon characters, instead i just sound like a crotchety old man
It’s really cool how some of the Pokémon play differently but well on this map!
I feel like hexgar gets way more out of something like white emblems than black emblems (also from items like focus band rather than triple glasses), I feel like it acts more like a brawler type character, not having a lot of burst damage, but having consistent damage and also only being able to deal that dmg from really close range (I actually have a full sort of tank build for it and I usually run focus, shellbell, and wise)
Also by "consistent damage" I mean being able to deal damage over a period of time, sort of the opposite of shadow eater gengar who has to wait for its abilities like 5 secs. if it didn't ko/land its abilities (you still have to account for missing abilities tho)
focus is useless when you are fighting attackers speedters and allrounder no focus could save gengar if he messed up the resort is use unite and escape
@@Synoh thats why dreameater one requires practice reaction timing and iq and hex requires presence of mind and iq
accuracy is required for both thou
@@cursedtyrany8199 gengar is actually decently bulky, and the bulkiest non-all-rounderlike speedster, so putting investestment into bulk and especially focus band is good, wdym no focus band will help, it actually becomes like as bulky as garchomp because you add all the hp from emblems and all the defense from focus (it's actually 29 for both on focus which, on gengar, at lvl 13, with 147 and 201 defense stats respectively gives you more than max blues or max purples, giving 11 and 16 respectively) and also it gives 35% hp, it's not gonna get bursted down bc it has white emblems, focus defenses combined with decent bulk, its only problem is cc really which it can use full heal for (also good team play, but you, for the most part, don't have to worry about that in soloq)
You sir are Priceless. Thanks for everything you do.
🤠🤠
Decidueye:"I don't need Regieleki,i will score by myself " hahahahaha
How assassin is Gengar in new map! Completely brutal assassin.💜
it become every pokemons night mare if gengar becomes level 15 at first 5 min
Hi Spragels I have a question, will the space gengar skin ever be available again?
Idk
Also, Jeff Hoogland spinspouting? Never thought I'd see that 😂😂
I need advice. I just logged back in after not playing for 6 months.
I'm on the fence between Glacion and Gengar.
Both seem very solid 'mon. But, I only have enough to get one.
I practiced with both, and they both feel fun.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Both are good indeed, but i'd say glaceon is better because she's ranged, and her skills are lock-on target, unlike gengar
Gengar gengar gengar gengar
I think they need to do something about chain CC. Pretty much every character has something that slows or stuns and I run into situations all the time where you get hit once and can’t act until you’re dead. It’s super frustrating and they really need to make it that subsequent layers of CC have a smaller impact so you don’t get hit once and can’t play the game.
I agree. It's really just not fun. Not sure about balance, but I think fun is somewhat important in a game.
My philosophy is: If you can't against them, join them. So Gengar will be my next main till the next balance patch.
I was Pikachu main for a long time. Gengar was ALWAYS my number 1 enemy. Top tier threat level.
I've switched to maining Gengar and now I'm chilling. I get MVP pretty often (well this new system is weird though) and often get the most k/os.
I've gone back and forth with other Pokemon and whenever I see fellow Gengars play on my team, they're often underwhelming. They get like 3 k/os the entire battle. I get mad and just go back to Gengar myself just so it gets done right lol
@@Norixciii I get you 100%, often I play meta pkmns, just to use them right, cause my teammates don't know how to play them.
Mime is definitely S tier and as a supporter main im all for it lol
I've been loving gengar so much in this map, and I don't even mean Hex Gengar. Dream Eater + Shadow Ball hits like a truck
I love Gengar on the new map, can easily level up and get the skills needed. I just got a penta with Dream Eater-Shadow Ball combo build. Soo having fun. :3
Hex/Sludge Bomb was always fucked
Mime is freaking broken ATM, he's got as much CC as a whole team, as much as tanky as tanks and does as much damage as attackers. I litterally can't play any melee pokemon because if Mime is not alone you die for sure.
Even if mime is alone, you could still die though
lol I totally get how the guy you were playing with (not sure who it was, sounded like Zoinks?) felt with playing on Bluestacks. Every time I play on mobile on a rare occasion it feels weird, honestly Unite on PC is pretty fun.
Honestly, I think that the boost emblems did most of the damage here. Even though they nerfed them they still make up for all of the nerfs that they made to the pokemon themselves. Gengar is really fun though.
Emblems are now 4%, blue buff is 20%. It's blue buff causing the issue here for sure.
@@claytonsteed6767They nerfed the map by removing the three birbs and made the blue buff 10% and electric regi now only electro webs one pokemon
Yeehaw 🤠
yeeeeeeeeeehaw
You might not have been playing well, but your team was (or the opposing team was worse). Playing Gengar doesn't automatically win you matches if your team sucks. You had a lot of opportunities set up where the other team was on the defense constantly. So while Gengar is strong, if your team can't support you, you will have trouble executing, especially since you go down very fast if you have the other team on you. And then occasionaly there's the off game where you just keep missing your Sludge Bomb and you're a sitting duck lol. All that being said, Gengar is great once you know how to play it.
Great advice x
At this point it is Gengar is insane
I love the ambient bass at the start of the vid. Anyone know what it was so I can look it up
What targeting settings do you have on, mine always seems to go to wild spawns instead. Hella annoying
Hey Jake, do you have any recommended counter play against Gengar?
In a ranked match I went 20KOs, 1 Assist with 247pts with this build. It works 💪 haha.
Gengar is dead as Soon as a cc hits so it is effectively just a strong melee glasscannon If you don’t linke gengar Play mamoswine as is is beefy enough to survive the first hec and Abel to cc gengar badly enough to kill it
Is there a fix coming for the scuffed targeting? Since the new map my game always targets wild pokemon instead of players.
Use manual target
Ahhh new map, now it all makes sense. Same issue here.
Wait u have it too? I thought mine was bugged or something...it's so annoying
It’s cause the game when u press the move goes to the lowest hp Pokémon the wild Pokémon obviously have lowest hp so auto target goes there try to aim ur moves towards the opponents if no wild Pokémon use auto aim
@@shivankpanchmatia6633 just turn off simple , there is also bug in which d pad doesnt respond from last season me and my friends facing simiilar problem
Mime+Sword=endless cc
after the mime nerf it not a ridicules but it still annoying AF. Its still top 3 in the game atm
Ive started playing again almost a year after and i swear it feels like i watched this video multiple times a year ago ahahaha
Am I dumb in thinking that CC needs some sort of diminishing return? Or would that break more things and just need to always run full heal?
Nah u right as a buzzwole main getting CC’d is really just a death sentence
@@Chaospirex Buzzwole is probably the weakest character in the game. I think just playing him is a death sentence.
Why is Sludge bomb used? Like its damGe kinda sucks
Does it reset the CD for hex or huh
Which amblems you will be used
Also you used your Unite once in the match hahahah damn
Mime cc is honestly annoying and feels really long. Your stuck there unable to act then boom your Knock out
Since I started playing Gengar my Switch Controllers are drifting more and more. Sure gengar destroys everything but it also destroys my Controllers!
At least you can KO Gengar but Mime is just so annoying. Its walls early game stuns you, stuns you to death with psychic after it gets it, doesn't die, doesn't let you use your moves/unite with it's Unite, full wipes your team as supposedly a Supporter.
You hate it even more if there's a Tyranitar, Trevenant, Blissey, Tsareena, or Lucario with it.
The fact gengar's dash is a burst damage and you can spam/reset it is just bruh
Yeehaw to you cowboy!
I am a mobile player and my auto aim with hex gengar goes completely haywire. Please tell the control settings to use for it
Gengar nerfs income.
Can we get a surf greninja build please
Now i won't be able to pick gengar anymore...it will be locked on before I could even select 😂
3:54 this is why u want to use eject button 😨
I don’t think he could even get out of there with an eject because I don’t know if he could even use it
The amount of times that I fat fingered the wrong and threw a match is insane. How have they not made a feature for us to change our moveset even for like the first 15-20 seconds.
Hex Gengar is best with Full Heal to counter CC
the problem with nerfing gengar is that if he didn't one shot he is just dead that will make him useless
I just want to point out there is 2 mins 36 seconds left in the game, and Jake still hasn't United. He literally hasn't needed to all game. Even when he got KOd it was CC lock that got him. A Unite wouldn't have saved him.
Spragels will you come hang out with me on my birthday in two years? I’d say next year but my birthday is next Monday so not within 14 months. Lol. But shooooo, even play some unite with me and I’d be happy.
I don't really find gengar a prob to be honest im a delphox main and when ever I see a gengar I just fire spin it and run away
Honestly, this pokemon makes me sick, like for real, its insane, i just cant find a way to defeat it and nowdays every opponet team has one... im main blissey and nope, not luck, then my attaker is absol... also not good... like for real... what is a way to counter that beast! i do really need help with that guy 😢 they should nerf him
where the emblems at ?
Really digging the music! Link?
ruclips.net/video/dQw4w9WgXcQ/видео.html Here ya go, thank me later 👐
Move re-selection would be so nice. I've accidentally picked shadow ball Hex on gengar before and it completely ruins the game because you then have zero move synergy...
but you could kill damaged opponents mistakly selected dream sludge and got 11 kills wit one 3 streak
@@cursedtyrany8199 yeah it still has the moves but unless someone on my team had status (they didn’t lol) I can’t get the reset on hex which usually takes a couple hits to take something out. Only using gengar as a finisher who can’t engage or setup for itself is just crippling its potential. I think we won the game where I took shadow hex but it’s cause we got to steal zap
One time I chose surf water spout on blastoise and I was useless the whole game
@@pablojams5152 yeah but what we could do if we chose wrong moveset 💀
genuine question: why not wait until you have a bunch of points to score and break their goal? breaking their goal early gives them the chance to level up faster with the lane pokemon that spawn. jw
I hate the build. You can't escape. He just spams you even if u try to move and evade it
I have no luck with sludge/hex
Please make longer vidssss!!!!
If you want to watch more content watch his streams he streams on RUclips and twitch
The simple fact that speedsers/junglers are usually like 2 levels above everyone else it's so unfair I hope they nerf a little bit the xp of some camps.
Funny how they don't do nothing about GENGAR and took forever to do anything to LUCARIO but they immediately change TTAR lol
Full heal Jake!
S the new sigh tier
Whole game lacks balancing. Everybody does more damage than attackers while being far less squishy or just super mobile. Junglers are heavily overleveled all the time and therefore almost everything you play in mid feels op.
Yeah ive done 30 kills in a single game, so its true 💯
Yo I can't stand Gengar right now. I have mr.mimes and Gengar violating me almost every match. Although I did find A9 and mammo to be a great pair to fuck over the Gengar player.
hm... I'm divided: should I complain about the current meta or just have fun with it as long as it lasts 😁
I cant play hex gengar. My sludge bomb goes to one pokemon but my hex go to some other pokemon. And to change aim the controller is so slow.
turn off auto aim
I turned off and tried. Still same.
They added an option to increase the aiming speed. It makes aiming much easier
Okay wow I didnt know that. I will give it a go. Thank you for the advice. ^_^
The auto targeting when wild pokemon are around really affects gengars plays. Hell even hit one poke with sludge then hex to a totally different poke and destroys his combo potential. I don’t see any other way to avoid this except taking the extra second to manually move hex to the desired target. Oh, you’re dead by then.
thats why i never use auto attacks
@@cursedtyrany8199 how do you turn it off. It’s connected to the control settings “least amount of hp, closest” or am I missing it?
@@rynjrczk you can't just aim correct don't push it like spamming
To be fair, everything that stacks is busted on this map due to the farm
Yup
I don't think it's stacks as much as just Pokemon that snowball super hard.
buzzelwole useless from release even if you entirely stacked
This game needs a ban system so bad, I’m tired of unnecessarily broken pokemon
The community has no idea what’s balanced. High burst damage is not “broken”. That word gets tossed around all Willy nilly. Everyone complaining plays the game the same way no matter which mon is going against them. Learn the different Mons, what they do, and most important how to counter play against them as in don’t go throwing yourself at a fully evolved tyranitar. You’re not a voltorb, there are other ways
This shit is broken and need a big nerf. The only counter to this crap is a blissey safeguard full tank emblem and even then it is not guaranteed to work.
Gengar is broken, plz nerf
Ello:)
hi hi
I don’t understand why you think he’s so broken literally all you’re doing is cleaning up your teammates kills you’re hardly even doing damage..
First
Third
yeehaw
WHY ARE U PLAYING HEX
Hello third
hello third!!
Stop making every pokeymon op they nirf every pokeymon you say that about it and gengar is my main
Gengar needs a nerf my man.
jake you need to stop with the woman stock pictures please 😭😭😭😭😭
They make me laugh
Looking for some friends on Unite.
Hound27 is name Est time zone
Play for both fun and ranked. (Vet4) was in Ultra last season only pushed for skin
After you said you were not even playing well, many players will blindly use Gengar without good strategic move 🥲
They already have been. I've seen tons of gengars even before the map dropped. Most of them not even knowing how to properly jungle.
@@MusicComet I have Gengar win rate 61%, 300+ games, but I still think it’s a risky choice as it’s very squishy. The level advantage can be double blade as Gengar will take long time to come back. I’d rather not play Gengar in ranked when there are plenty of players wanting jungle.
