Batman Forever Directed by Tim Burton

- Years ago, director Tim Burton created two dark, frequently gothic, superhero films, Batman (1989) and Batman Returns. He was set direct a third Batman film, but the studio wanted to reach a wider audience and hired Joel Schumache as director while Tim Burton served as producer. Following this change, the series received a lighter, campier tone, with lots of humor, and ugly neon lights.
This trailer is my attempt to create of what Burton may have created if he had been allowed to direct the third Batman film in his own style. I challenged myself to keep the previous films original cast and to avoid too many shots obviously taken from Burton's or Schumacher's Batman films. I also recast the Riddler as Robin Williams, following early casting choices by the studio.
Cast:
Michael Keaton: Batman/Bruce Wayne
Robin Williams: The Riddler
Billy Dee Williams: Harvey Dent
Pat Hingle: James Gordon
Michael Gough: Alfred Pennyworth
Music used: The Roasted Dude, Descent into Mystery, Up the Cathedral, Charge of the Batmobile. Artist: Danny Elfman
This video is for entertainment purposes only, I make no money from this fanedit.
R.I.P. Robin Williams! :'(
Robin Williams was always one of the legends.
This is a Batman movie I would have loved to see because it would have been interesting to see Robin play the Riddler.
And he would be the same over the top/flamboyant Riddler as was in the final film. Because it was Joel Schumacher who wanted Robin Williams to play The Riddler before Jim Carrey was cast.
Tim Burton should of did Batman Forever.
Technically he did. He was a producer on Batman Forever. Which is why I think the film did loads better than Batman and Robin did years later.
synthsolutionmusic agreed, this was a great movie, much better than the unspoken other Joel Schumacher batman movie.
The Joker and batman and robin
Should HAVE, not should OF. Why is that so hard to get right?
@@synthsolutionmusic what does produced mean?
I wish this was real.
Don’t we all.
Man, this is the 2nd time I've seen Robin Williams in a fake Batman trailer. It's really a same we'll never get to see him play the Riddler or Prof. Hugo Strange.
Billy Dee Williams would have been fucking amazing as two face
i wish tim burton returned and direct batman AGAIN!
Nice job, now this is the version I would have like to see. I mean, the Batman Forever was medicore at best and Batman & Robin was just.... ugh, don't even get me started. But to date, the best "live action" Batman films are: Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. I would also add the 1960's Batman film, cause back then the camp was acceptable. But now, no way.
Ojala Burton se hubiera encargado de esa pelicula!! con esa tematica habria quedado magnifica
Robin wanted to be the Joker so bad, i remember he came out dressed in a purple suit for the 2008 People's choice awards. R.I.P
Warner Bros approach Robin Williams for The Joker in 1989's Batman, but they used him to trick Jack Nicholson into the role. Then Joel Schumacher asked Williams to play The Riddler in Batman Forever, and that went to Jim Carrey.
Robin Williams would have never taken the role in 1995. During filming of the '89 film, Nicolson first turned down the role of The Joker and it was offered to Williams. Nicolson had a change of heart and Williams was pissed off that they pulled the rug from under him. He was offered the role of The Riddler and turned it down.
Joel Schumacher fought long and hard to get Robin Williams into The Riddler, since Williams talk to Schumacher about it in 1993. Lee and Janet Scott Batchler wrote The Riddler with Robin Williams in mind. Since Jack Nicholson beat out Williams for The Joker, Jim Carrey beat out Williams for The Riddler. Both Nicholson and Carrey were born to play The Joker and The Riddler.
It genuinely saddens me that this movie was never made and we got a neon Broadway musical mess of a movie instead and I will never forgive Warner Bros for firing Tim Burton all because he made Batman Returns too good :(
E George So Batman Forever was going to be a actual good movie but Warner Bros thought it would be better to turn that movie into a rip off of The Rocky Horror Picture Show
***** That shows how bad Batman & Robin is since it makes Batman Forever look good by comparison
***** Thank God for that Joel Schumacher's Batman Triumphant was never made because it would have been a lot worse than Batman & Robin
***** Even if that were true it would not have been as good as Tim Burton's movies and I think that having somebody like Madonna as Harley Quinn would have been bad
***** It is a good idea to have Harley Quinn as the daughter of The Joker but Madonna is not right for that role
This would have been amazing. Williams would have been a great and terrfying Riddler
If Johnny Depp didnt snatch the role lol
Actually, he would be the same over the top/flamboyant Riddler as was in the final film played by Jim Carrey.
@@captainbeastwinger4940 actually, Johnny Depp would be a great Riddler in Burton's Batman. Because Robin Williams was Joel Schumacher's original choice for The Riddler before Jim Carrey was cast.
Batman Continues Confirmed Cast would have been
Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Marlon Wayans as Dick Grayson/Robin
Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth
Robin Williams as Edward Nygma/The Riddler
Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent/Two-Face
Brad Dourif as Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow
Rene Russo as Dr. Chase Meridian
Pat Hingle as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Michelle Pfeiffer as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Jeff Daniels as Jack Abilt
@AmayaAmaya You know I think the Batman Continues confirmed cast would have been:
Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Chris ODonnell as Dick Grayson/Robin
John Vernon as Harvey Dent/ Two-Face
Rik Mayall as Edward Nynga/The Riddler
Nicole Kidman as Dr Chase meridian
Christopher Walken as Max Shreck/ Killer Crock
Michelle Pfeifer as Seline Kile/Catwoman
Rick Moranis as Detective Jack Albit
Pat Hingle as Commissioner Jim Gorden
Michael Gough as Alfred Pennyworth
What do you think it would have been like?
Actually, it was Joel Schumacher who wanted Robin Williams for The Riddler before Jim Carrey was cast.
@@1997calvert Batman Continues was a made up title. I want you to check out a video essay "The Myth of Tim Burton's Batman 3: Batman Continues Debunked."
I wish those stupid people saying that Batman returns is not kid-friendly knew that the movie wasn't for kids
I only subscribed for these trailers. If you can make more of Batman Forever Tim Burton style, I'm happy.
This is amazing!! So well done
It’s weird how I can watch this all day and still not get tired.
You should have put Marlon Wayans in this using scenes from Requiem For A Dream because he was cast as Robin by Burton!
+colliric If I'd made this video nowadays I probably would have. I did include Wayans as Robin in three of my follow up videos though.
DAMN i wish
The entiys lair do you have any copies of the batman soundtracks from the ones dsny elfman and Elliott goldenthal wrote
Superman Lives
Main article: Superman in film § Superman Lives
After Kevin Smith had been hired to rewrite a script called Superman Reborn, he suggested Burton to direct. It was Smith who convinced Warner Bros. to change the title to Superman Lives. Burton signed on with a pay-or-play contract of $5 million and Warner Bros. set a theatrical release date for the summer of 1998, the 60th anniversary of the character's debut in Action Comics. Nicolas Cage was signed on to play Superman, with a $20 million pay-or-play contract, believing he could "reconceive the character".: 192 Producer Jon Peters felt Cage could "convince audiences he [Superman] came from outer space." Burton explained Cage's casting would be "the first time you would believe that nobody could recognize Clark Kent as Superman, he [Cage] could physically change his persona." Kevin Spacey was approached for the role of Lex Luthor, while Christopher Walken was Burton's choice for Brainiac, a role also considered for Jim Carrey and Gary Oldman. Sandra Bullock, Courteney Cox and Julianne Moore had been approached for Lois Lane, while Chris Rock was cast as Jimmy Olsen. Michael Keaton confirmed his involvement, but when asked if he would be reprising his role as Batman from Burton's Batman films, he would only reply, "Not exactly."
Burton immediately hired Wesley Strick to write a completely different story about the death and return of Superman. The film entered pre-production in June 1997. Filming was originally set to begin in early 1998. Burton chose Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as his primary filming location for Metropolis, while start dates for filming were pushed back.: 197 For budgetary reasons, Warner Bros. ordered another rewrite from Dan Gilroy, delayed the film and ultimately put it on hold in April 1998. Burton then left to direct Sleepy Hollow. Burton has depicted the experience as a difficult one, citing differences with producer Jon Peters and the studio, stating, "I basically wasted a year. A year is a long time to be working with somebody that you don't really want to be working with."
Actually, Nic Cage is the one who wanted Tim to do Superman Lives.
@TheEntity'sLair Great concept trailer. In fact I can imagine that Tim Burton directed Batman Forever and also some casting possibilities for the roles while Michael Keaton returns to the role of Batman. So here are my casting choices:
John Vernon as Two-Face
Rik Mayall as The Riddler
Lorraine Bracco as Dr Chase Meridian
Christopher Walken as The Scarecrow/Max Shreck
Chris ODonnell as Robin/Dick Grason
What do you think?
Actually, Chase Meridian was created during Joel Schumacher's tenure of Batman, and he originally cast Renee Russo in the role when Schumacher wanted Michael Keaton to return, but when Val Kilmer was cast, the role of Chase went to Nicole Kidman.
What movies did you use
To bad this movie never existed, at least Nolan made a third & it ended perfect.
"at least Nolan made a third & it ended perfect."? Lemme stop ya right there.
That's right. Batman Forever was Joel Schumacher's baby from the very beginning, with Tim Burton passing on the torch to him and producing the film.
What about marlon wayans as robin and Brad dourif as scarecrow
I did some videos of Brad Dourif as Scarecrow a few years ago:

I made a some cameos of Marlon Wayans in a few of my Batman Forever trailers, but I only wound up using him as Robin in my Batman and Robin videos.
From which movie is the scene from the minute 1:25?
The motorcycles jumping? That was taken from The Phantom (1996).
@@TheEntitysLair thank you

I think those are clips from other films actually.
+bttfspencer As Batman Forever was made twenty years ago with a different cast and director, most of the clips obviously didn't come from the actual film. This is my vision of what Batman Forever would looked like if Tim Burton had made the film in his own style instead of Joel Schumacher who directed the real film.
+TheEntity'sLair This is not Batman Forever directed by Tom Burton, Tom directed Batman and Batman Returned, NOT Batman Forever.
+bttfspencer I am fully aware that Tim Burton did not really direct Batman Forever. This video is merely my representation of what the film would have looked like if he HAD directed it.
Dude for goodness sake, Tom Burton did NOT make another Bat film. This is PHONY.
+bttfspencer Are you reading my replies properly? We seem to be repeating ourselves.
I KNOW Tim Burton didn't make really Batman Forever. EVERYBODY knows that. OF COURSE this trailer isn't real. I told you that twice already.
To restate what is already in the description, I deliberately made a fake Batman 3 trailer out of other films in the style of a Tim Burton film. Why did I do this? To show what a third Tim Burton Batman film would have looked like. Do I care that it's not a real film? No.
I'm not trying to fool people into thinking this is a real trailer, they all know better, I'm just having fun imitating a directors' distinctive style.
wait is that’s enity’s lair first ever video? tell me i’m am right or wrong
Fuck, I think that this is good. Just missed catwoman.
That would have been something.
It the parents fault that tim burton got fired and batman 3 was never made by tim burton
What movies did you use
I used footage and soundbites from Batman (1989) Batman Returns, Batman Forever, Mask of Death, The Phantom, Dark City, The Crow, Insomnia, Spawn, Public Enemy, The Zodiac, Predator 2, One Good Cop, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and the trailer to Hitman Absolution.
