- This is my vision of how the film Batman and Robin would have been if Tim Burton had been allowed to direct it in his signature style instead of Joel Schumacher. I tried to use footage that matched Burton's old films as well as recast the characters using either Burton's Original choices, or other actor considered, but not used, for the roles.
I thought I should explain a few of my casting choices. Unlike my Batman Forever Trailers, I didn't have a clear list of alternate actors, so I had to do a little extra digging.
Marlon Wayans was Tim Burton's choice to play Robin and he allegedly had a play-on-pay contract to star in a Batman sequel. I'm not sure if Burton ever intended to have Marlon suit up as the boywonder- I think he was once intended to simply cameo as Grayson in Batman Returns- but as the film is called Batman Robin, I feel Grayson should star as Batman's partner.
Patrick Stewart was considered by the studio for the role of Freeze (along with Anthony Hopkins) before Schumacher came up with his own personal; interpretation of Freeze. Stewart was a pleasure to edit, and surprisingly the easiest character to recreate.
I went through quite as few rumoured choices for Poison Ivy before settling on Nichole Kidman. I was reluctant to reuse the actress of Schumacher's Merdian Chase. But, seeing as I had replaced Kidman with Rena Russo in my Batman Forever Trailers, I decided to give her a go. Turns out that Kidman had been considered for the role of both Catwoman in Batman Returns and Poison Ivy in an early draft of Batman Forever.

Joel Schumacher originally cast Renee Russo as Chase Meridian, while he wanted Kidman for Poison Ivy, but Russo turned it down due to schedule conflicts with both Outbreak and Get Shorty and Warner Bros does not want to use Poison Ivy due to too many villains. So Schumacher cast Kidman as Chase instead.

The saddest thing about this trailer is that if Patrick played Freeze, we would have never seen him playing Professor X in XMen...

That could've been a better movie when it was directed by Tim Burton. Patrick Stewart seems to be a better choice of Mr. Freeze.

Most fans wanted Patrick as Mr. Freeze. I know. I am one of them
Stewart actually was the original choice but he turned it down. Then they had to change Freeze's persona to accomodate Arnold.
For instance, Arnold has a great sense of humour, so they made Freeze into a bit of a comedian. Arnold also loves smoking cigars, so they had Freeze smoke a cigar in the film, even though in the comics one puff would likely kill him.

The story of Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin actually did have emotion and depth if you really think about it. Their partnership showing signs of deterioration and Mr. Freeze's motive to save his wife. Had the puns, the anatomically correct suits, the fancy gadgets and the innuendos been left out, had Freeze been portrayed as a bitter, vengeful man instead of a cigar smoking comedian, had Bane been left for a sequel and been portrayed like in Knightfall, I'm sure Schumacher's film would've fared a lot better. The soundtrack and visual effects were definitely amazing.
I know it required a lot of change, but the story of the film itself had potential. This trailer sort of promotes the same story with Michael Keaton and different actors, and fans are going mad. The film itself was just made wrongly.
The film reckons with loss and revenge. Batman '89 with Jack Nicholson, Batman Returns with Danny DeVito and Michelle Pfeiffer, Batman Forever with Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey, and Batman & Robin with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Uma Thurman had loss and revenge. But sometimes with ghoulish and over the top villains.

I agree.
I think the synopsis is basically the same as the original, only with a darker tone and without Bane. Freeze wants to save his wife and Poison Ivy wants to replace fauna with flora.

It's not WB passed on the idea because of him, Tim Burton cast Marlon as Robin, he passed the costume test and all, but WB decided they wanted a more children friendly approach to sell their toys, unlike what Burton envisioned for the film which was more dark, thus Tim Burton was dropped and anything he was planning with him.
Yup! and Marlon Wayans said himself that he still gets residual cheques for the movie even to this day. So he's getting paid for a movie he didn't do because he still signed on LOL

@@TenchiShinMei77 Actually, Tim Burton didn't plan on making a third Batman film, and he only had one meeting with Warner Bros. So, Tim stayed on as producer. And Joel Schumacher was getting ready to film The Client (based off the John Grisham novel), and Warner Bros. approach Joel about making a third Batman film, but only if Tim hired him, and it worked. Tim also help out hiring Lee and Janet Scott Batchler to write the screenplay for Batman Forever with Akiva Goldsman doing revisions. And it was Joel who wanted to bring in Robin for the film, and he only had actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law, Alan Cumming, who just came out of nowhere, and Toby Stephens on the list, but gave the role to Chris O'Donnell, who's a good Robin.
I imagine the story where it will go around the character of Ferris Boyle (like a corrupted yuppie) who caused Victor Fries accident and took Nora Fries to himself while he is using plants for experiments which destroys ecosystem around Gotham City and all of this could lead Mr Freeze and Poison Ivy to join their forces to take their respective revenge (Freeze wants to take Nora back and Ivy to save the plants) and destroy Boyle with of course Batman who tries to stop them.

2. I honestly couldn't think of an actor for Bane so I left him out of the video. The trailer felt like it had enough characters anyway.

I'm probably not going to make a Tim Burton Batman Unchained film as time soon. To be honest I'm more interested in making The Dark Knight Returns directed by Tim Burton.

Batman '89 is a superhero comic book limited series published by DC Comics that serves as an alternative continuation of Tim Burton's first two Batman films, Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), which starred Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne / Batman, while ignoring the events of Batman Forever (1995) and Batman & Robin (1997). if Tim Burton would of directed Batman Forever and Batman & Robin and if they would of made Batman Triumphant Tim Burton should of directed Batman Triumphant as well with the dark tone and Michael Keaton playing Batman a fifth time after Michael Keaton would of played Batman a third and fourth time in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin and I would of loved to have seen The Scarecrow and Harley Quinn in Batman Triumphant.

Mr. freeze has one motive. Curing his wife while kicking ass,Not saying puns related to Ice and cold it doesn't work like that. besides Freeze is not an over the top goofy character,he's serious,and hell bent on finding a cure for his wife,not singing I'm Mr. White Christmas I'm Mr Snow.

Actually, Batman Continues was a made up title. Batman Forever didn't start out as a Tim Burton project. It was always Joel Schumacher's baby. Burton's only involvement with Batman Forever is to hire his friend Schumacher to direct, and he help out hiring Lee and Janet Scott Batchler to write the screenplay.

I don't know if Patrick Stewart would have had the physicality to wear the Freeze suit, but he probably would have said yes if they approached him - he'd been itching for an action role since the early 90s, wanting to get away from the stigma of being "that weenie from Star Trek". That's why every TNG movie's been nothing but action without the intellectual sophistication of the TV series, because Stewart kept demanding action roles.

I didn't really have a character in mind when I edited the video. However in an early draft of Batman Forever Tim Burton wanted Brad Dorif to player Scarecrow, so it's probably him.

Partially correct. In addition to those films, I also used footage and audio from the following films and tv shows:
One Good Cop (1991) and White Noise (2005) for Keaton.
The Sixth Man (1997) and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra for Wayans.
X-Men the Last Stand, Great Performances: Macbeth (TV Series), and Hamlet (2009 TV Movie) for Stewart.
And Stoker (2013) for Kidman.

Tim Burton should directed Batman & Robin just like Tim Burton should of directed Batman Forever and I would of loved to have seen how Tim Burton would have directed Batman & Robin with the dark tone just like Tim Burton would of done that with Batman Forever and I would of loved to have seen Michael Keaton as Batman a fourth time after Michael Keaton would of played Batman a third time in Batman Forever and I would of love to have seen Patrick Stewart as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin and I would of loved to of seen Mr. Freeze look the way he does in Batman: The Animated Series in Batman & Robin with Mr. Freeze wearing a glass over his head and Mr. Freeze wearing red goggles and i would of loved to have seen Patrick Stewart act the way Mr. Feeeze does in Batman: The Animated Series in Batman & Robin.
