Z19DTH Crankshaft Damper Pulley Noise - Astra H

From couple of months my Astra became quite noise on indle and when the engine is pressed hard from low revs. After some investigation i found the problem to be the crankshaft damper pulley. Some people call it harmonic ballencer.

I'll be doing mine tomorrow , its completely separated 😬. Did you need two people to release the tention whilst you put the new pulley on ? Great video . Thank you

Nope, you just need a spanner and a lever attached to it and the tentioner pulley is ease to release.

I Have weird knocking sound around 1800 to 2200 RPM, so I hope this damper pulley may be the trouble maker. (my car is astra J 1.7CDTI A17DTR)

Change it for Pulley with number 55564573, it doesnt fail. I've did that on my z19dth, no ratling noise anymore!

Can the damper pulley completely fail, I think I have the same issue on an A20DTR engine in my Saab ttid

Yes it can. If its the old model like the one I'm replacing in the video it could fell out in parts
