A rare angel with an incredible voice, one of the GOATS! I know her entire catalog and so should everyone! I also was graced with the opportunity to meet her and she was so lovely and humble. I cry when I hear her voice. RIP my friend. She sold 100 MILLION albums!
RIP sister.. Just beautiful..and it makes me sad becayse i was a young man when fhis song came out.. And now every singer that i grew up with as a young man are gone. And it makes me so sad that another one id gone...
You are right, she was the Queen of Pop in the 70s and early 80s. Born in England, and moved to Australia when she was five years old, so the accent is pure Australian. She has a huge catalogue of hits for you to explore. She started out on the Country charts, believe it or not her first Grammy was for Best Female Country Artist for Let Me Be There. Here is the list of MUST listens in the ONJ catalogue, in chronological order. I will skip the Grease songs, since you already know about those: If Not For You, Let Me Be There, If You Love Me (Let Me Know), I Honestly Love You, Have You Never Been Mellow, Please Mr. Please, A Little More Love, Deeper Than The Night, Magic, Xanadu, Physical, Make A Move On Me, Heart Attack, Tied Up, Twist Of Fate, Living In Desperate Times, and Soul Kiss. Honorable Mention: The Rumour, written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin for her. Great song that should have been a hit, and the video is really fun. There are many others, but this is a great place to start.
I used to live a streets away in Venice Beach CA. I have grown up seeing famous people living their so it was the norn. But with her it was exciting. Grease was shot at our high school too.
I saw Grease many times at the movie theatre when it first came out. I was 15 at the time. I’ve watched it over and over thru the yesrs. I love her and John Travolta. I saw her in concert twice. She’s an amazing, talented, beautiful person inside and out. I’ve always admired her and looked up to her. Here’s a couple of songs I think you will like. She wrote both of them. ruclips.net/video/f7ZmbvAIDN4/видео.html ruclips.net/video/fEtwsTfBzLc/видео.html
Give a listen to her singing the song ' Xanadu' with help from ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). BTW, Xanadu is another movie Olivia was in, not on the same level as 'Grease', But it is a musical with that early 80's cheese that I tend to like.

My favorite song from GREASE. Has that 1950's vibe.
