Was going to stay in apartments near the Topaz which are owned by the Relax inn hotel, i remember that hotel when it was called the Concord and had a swimming pool at the front. It looks like so much has changed from the days of Stones night club, Cesar's bar, Ta'casa bbq farm house, The Salad Bowel restaurant, JJ's disco and many more places that are no longer. Hopefully all will be well next September and i can return to enjoy the feasts in Naxxar and Mellieha that happen in the first week of September. Wondering how much per week that apartment was with the couple from London ? Looks in a good location. Any way back to my box of tissues .

The San Antonio was a nice hotel 11years ago when I was last there in 2009, and stopped in an apartment near the bus terminal great memories. Can’t believe they turned the park opposite Manor Court apartments into a car park :(
You should have started by the junction with Triq ic Cern, as you have missed quite a chunk of Triq it Touristi with nice little bars and restaurants. La stalla is still in the same ownership and is my favourite place for pizza.
@@EnglishmaninMalta we’ve had a holiday flat at that end of Triq it Touristi for 35 years so know the area well and been visiting Malta for over 40 years 👍🏻 I agree there’s been a lot of changes in that time.
I wouldn't be surprised to find Elvis hiding out in Malta there used to be literally hundreds of men dressed as him back in the day :) Nice tour of Bugibba not a place I used to frequent often. I must say though Ricotta or Peas are still the best Pastizzi :) cheers

That place gets more and more built up by the week I think. I remember too when it was mostly fields, a couple of hotels and when they first built flats they were summer homes for the Maltese people. Like everything else, I suppose ordinary people had to get out and make way for more hotels and development. It is such a shame that one end is already looking scruffy while they still haven't finished adding to it. Interesting to have a look around though Steve, thank you.

Have not visited Malta since they were putting finishing touches to the church (very strange design). Used to visit Malta every year since 1977 until early 90s.
"Salad Bowl" 👍 my favourite until moving to UK and every year whilst on holidays @ Mum's in SPB. Wasn't the proprietor JOE a great bloke?! Lovely Memories.!. CHEERS 👍. 🇲🇹 🇪🇺.
29th august us
Hope all goes well !!
The San Antonio was a nice hotel 11years ago when I was last there in 2009, and stopped in an apartment near the bus terminal great memories. Can’t believe they turned the park opposite Manor Court apartments into a car park :(
Yes so much changing now that area, just many Maltese holding back progress asking so high prices
Was a nice little park providing much needed greenery but the parking situation is so bad in the area I suppose it was inevitable
You should have started by the junction with Triq ic Cern, as you have missed quite a chunk of Triq it Touristi with nice little bars and restaurants.
La stalla is still in the same ownership and is my favourite place for pizza.
Thanks for the tips! but I was in the capable hands of francis
@@EnglishmaninMalta we’ve had a holiday flat at that end of Triq it Touristi for 35 years so know the area well and been visiting Malta for over 40 years 👍🏻
I agree there’s been a lot of changes in that time.
I wouldn't be surprised to find Elvis hiding out in Malta there used to be literally hundreds of men dressed as him back in the day :) Nice tour of Bugibba not a place I used to frequent often. I must say though Ricotta or Peas are still the best Pastizzi :) cheers
Good point Charlie .and right on the point with the Pastizzi , we will have to treach francis into the maltese ways !! Yes it busy times i hate the place ..its hell to park ...Nothing was ever done for parking The dolman got lovely parking all locked up and there staffand buses all PARKED OUTSIDE ??
The rusty spoon best fish fry I ever had
Ok ill keep it in mind
Not been there for a long time. I remember a empty swimming pool there
Sorry Terry where ?? in place of elvis ?? no Idea ??
Look so much nice place. Think beautiful night there . Say hello to friend francis from uk.
Thank you, I will ...you like go bars drink party and dance all night ?
19:20. We stayed in an apartment just a couple of doors down from The Elvis Lounge and were subjected to Elvis every night!
Is that good or bad ?? lol 😂
@@EnglishmaninMalta I guess good as it meant that I would usually go for a walk down to Bugibba Square!
Must be 30 years since I last went to Bugiba, its changed a bit.
Its dead at the moment ..
I was there last week.......
Oh..No Thought They were closed last week ??
That place gets more and more built up by the week I think. I remember too when it was mostly fields, a couple of hotels and when they first built flats they were summer homes for the Maltese people. Like everything else, I suppose ordinary people had to get out and make way for more hotels and development. It is such a shame that one end is already looking scruffy while they still haven't finished adding to it. Interesting to have a look around though Steve, thank you.
Yes its changed a bit someone told me it was just a line of boat house and small maltese house in old times ..like a fishing village
You do get a good pint of draught cisk in the elvis bar.
I wanted to go ...But Francis is tea total !! 🙄🙄🙄
They do also sell a good coffee 👍
That first street is Halel street, Bugibba while Tourist street is in Qawra, around 10 minutes from Halel street
Not sure you are right ?? always know it where we walked ?
@@EnglishmaninMalta Of course I am right I am local and live in Bugibba
@@johntonna2235 oh !! Will have to inform google maps , it shows run from Triq Cassarino, bugibba to Qawra sea front , we never said halel street was triq il turist ? , we said we on the way to walk triq il turisti ?
As a Maltese in Australia, it is great to see my second home! Great job!
Thank you my friend. More on the way
Red Lion, the best breakfast by far.
I was going to start a breakfast challenge, but everywhere go shutdown, so i will try it out soon, thats over in bugibba right ?

@@EnglishmaninMalta Yes in the afternoon onwards
The sypinx is the best place for pastizzi on tourist street!
George’s bay side diner was our favourite place to eat but absolutely vile now! They left one if our meals off the order the rest was cold and they charged us for our friends meals! We need a new place to eat! Local cheap cheerful !
sypinx make very good pastizzi ..Oh give it another chance ..Everyone has a bad day !!
Englishman in Malta we did -twice more as used for years. Honestly it was shocking. It has been taken over ....... sad to see it nose dive like it did
