I'm heading back for my 5th trip to Malta in just 3 weeks and I can't wait. It's such a great country. I love the people, the food, the architecture, absolutely everything. The churches are so beautiful they've brought tears to my eyes. I've made friends with the locals who are very loud, want to know everything about you, and love to have a chat. I get a 1-week bus pass for 21 euros and the buses are frequent and go everywhere you need to go. I stay in St Pauls Bay, this trip at the Mayflower Hotel. It's a quieter area of Malta, so you can head around and see all the sights amongst the hustle and bustle then head back to where things are quieter. I love the little casino in St Paul Bay for a bit of a gamble and cocktails in the evening. I love Bingo with all the Maltese nonnas. I love walking along the wide paths that hug the seaside. I love the Maltese balconies on the houses and all the saints by the front door of people's homes. As for the food, my favourite thing is beef olives. Gosh, I just can't wait.
@@humbleprogress1226Yes. Though Malta is a small Island, it is beautiful and many places to go too. My fav place is the Ramla bay resort. Especially there panoramic Sea view suite. A much more quieter and relaxing place to stay rather than Sliema and Valletta ect. Also its just a 5 minute drive to catch the Gozo ferry to visit Gozo. Mdina is a nice romantic place to visit and dine there, also Rabat which is right near Mdina. Alot of restaurants and good food.
I love those places that are heavily steeped in tradition and culture, so Malta seems like such a good fit for my style of travel. Thank you for your amazing videos and information. Great job once again.
Malta is not cheap, especially the places you want to visit as a tourist. The better restaurants cost the same as in any more visited capital in Western Europe.
Thank you for a great video, I was born in Malta in 1954 and left for the UK when I was 2. My husband is taking me on holiday to Malta in September and I am so excited to visit the place I was born for the first time.
That's brilliant. My wife was, like you, born there and left when she was still an infant. I took her there as a surprise for her 40th birthday. At the airport she broke down in tears of joy when she realised where I was taking her to (I'd told her we were going to Barcelona). When we landed and the doors opened on the plane she said she felt like she was finally back home. I'd done some research beforehand and took her back to the flats that she had been born in whilst we were there. Been back a couple of times since and going again in a couple of weeks from now and we can't wait!
Just visted Malta for 3 days, and for the most part I enjoyed it, but I really didn't like the bus which I got to Mdina, it was very busy like you said at 4:08 and slow, and the seats felt really uncomfortable. And yes, Valletta (and Malta too) to me seemed to have a lot of British influence. Will definitely go again!
Don't go to Malta right now it's chaos like construction work everywhere, it appears countries overseas have been given a lot of money to renovate all the hotels or build new ones into B&Bs which no longer have kitchens, you have to at least book breakfast, and you have to rent a fridge now but Malta seems to be extra slow at doing things so it's going to take a few years to be complete.
Great video! All your videos are really good, very educational & engaging. Question, I am looking for a good camera to film myself, which one (not too expensive), easy to use, would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
Thanks so much for the kind words! My camera is a bit pricey (it’s the Sony A7IV) but my first good camera was the Nikon D3200 which served me well for many years :)
I've been seeing alot of travel vlogs about Malta looks like a beautiful country with lots of history which I love have to add it to my long list of countries to visit.
Thank you for that... fun fact... popeye village is named as such because it was the film set for the Robin William's, Shelley duvall "popeye" movie itself, these are all in the movie, have a watch,
I couldn't believe the price she showed. We had a look at options to book on TripAdvisor and they're roughly £25-£35 ($32-45 US$). Loads of places have boards advertising them so there is plenty of availability if you're staying somewhere touristy, and all the boards with prices on say 30euros.

We enjoyed your video, but nowadays the seas around Malta are actually quite empty fishwise. Most fish is being imported. Probably those seas will be empty soon as well.
Yeah Malta is beautiful but for us locals it feels like we're invaded and we can't breathe properly in our own home so please keep in mind it's jam packed and chaotic. I suggest you take your breaks in bigger countries and give us all a break because we're toxic at the moment 💔 I apologies for my boldness, this is not hate speech, it's sickness.
I am half Maltese and am wanting to visit Malta to see my grandad and other family for the first time. But I don’t want to be another tourist, I’ve heard about this issue
You want to come to Britain if you want to see Invaded ! . The whole of Europe is being Invaded 😡. unfortunately that's life and until our own governments stop it it will continue .
Popeye Village is overrated. First time, it is a nice visit, but after that , it quickly looses its charm, especially because of the long walk from the bus.
Maltese, an official European language, is a unique mixture of semitic and latin . It is a semitic language, written in latin script, and owes it latin influence after the expulsion of all muslims from the island by the Normans in the early 11th centuary. Thereafter, Malta, up until 1964 , was under one or many European (hence influence on language) ruler/s.
Why would you want to visit malta tho there are literally so many countries but malta just stay in ur country china and canada like literally we have enough of chinese and pakistan people we need more maltese people cuz in old days there was peace and fun but now in supermarkets u find pakistan people and u cant even talk with ur official language just be happy with ur country and thats it

You should also talk about the scuba diving. Malta is very popular with European divers due to it’s large number of shipwrecks from both WW1 and WW2.
