my wife and I have been visiting Malta for the past 10years (excluding Covid 2020/21) The island has so much history and as the video states everyone seems to speak English, obviously this was due to the island being a crown colony from July 1813 to September 64. We've never had any problems in Malta, with anything, public transport is very reliable, buses to any part of the Island are frequent & run from very early in the morning to late at night, eating out is cheap, food is great, the people are very friendly, it has a rich history, with many beautiful buildings, & museums entry prices are very reasonable, St Johns Cathedral Valletta is breathtaking. We holiday in Malta 6 weeks a year, absolutely love it, Christmas in Malta is amazing, they really know how to celebrate.

I visited Malta recently and I had a blast. Some things I wish I knew were transportation. I taught since Malta was a small island it wouldn't be a problem travelling by bus but public transport isn't convienent and neither the huge traffic jams. However, many places offered deliveries which made our stay more convienent. For example, I stayed in Sliema and wanted to try canna bis from aromatic buds malta and they offered same day delivery to my hotel. It would have been better if I stayed in 3 different accomodations to get around Malta easier.
Nice video . Best time to visit for climare and value for money in during may/June or Sept/October. Also not menined in the video I recommend a day trip to the smaller island of Gozo.
A few hard facts: The bus service in the summer is inadequate. You can wait 20 minutes in 35°C weather for a bus and when it finally comes it is cram-packed and won't even stop. A trip to a beach that took me 15 minutes on one day took an hour the very next... Food: can be good but it is now way overpriced. I can eat more cheaply and better in France than in Malta, as in France you can find fixed menus with an hors d'oeuvre, main dish and dessert for 17 Euros whereas in Malta no fixed menus exist and the same thing would cost you more like 25. And the quality will not be as good. The staff are poorly paid and if they are Maltese they have absolutely no sense of pride in their work. There is so much Construction going on that everywhere you go it is noisy, dusty and dirty. The Maltese throw garbage everywhere and altho they will spend a lot on the interior of their homes, a lot of the external façades look like ruins. The pollution level in Malta is the highest in all of Western Europe, so if you suffer from asthma or other respiratory problems you are warned. Be careful if you go to the restaurants along the waterfront. They will give you a dessert menu with no prices and charge you depending on what they think they can get away with. Avoid the white taxis - they are much more expensive. Use an app for the Bolt or Ecabs taxis...
Well, During summer it's true that the buses are overpacked. and next time choose a good resturant. All the resturants i've visited were cheap and good. And If you went 2020-2021 year, yes. there is many construction going on. We're upgrading the country.

@@midnight_yt8788 'upgrading' = making it uglier.... Many of the new builds are hideous and far too high. Most Maltese agree but are afraid to speak out. Firstly, my are family are Maltese and I've travelled there more times than I can remember, however, they are not friendly and often rude and very miserable. You'll often find that everyone thinks they're a model because many of the younger generations pay a small or large amount of their wages each month to join modelling agencies with no work, where they sadly think they've made in life, living in their own little bubble, hoping that one day they'll be noticed and they'll become an overnight sensation. DO NOT DRIVE IN MALTA ... it will become very apparent and very obvious while in Malta the vast amounts of roadside shrines and memorials for individuals that have sadly died due to car road accidents... Like hundreds and hundreds ... I counted 56 in the space of 15 minutes. No doubt you'll see at least one car accident or more during your stay. However, Malta is a beautiful island, you'll either love it or hate it ... it's a little like Marmite. It's dusty and dry and most of the buildings are partly derelict, due to taxes. It's steeped in culture on every corner. The beaches and the sea are amazing, and the nightlife is great and caters for all ages. Since joing the EU, Malta as lost it charm.. the vintage yellow buses have sadly gone, and have been replaced with more modern buses, that often don't fit on the narrow roads... even within the last 20 years, I have sadly noticed the huge diffrence in clear blue water that once surrounded this beautiful island ... sadly the amount of tourism each year is making malta unreconnisable, and has now become a very dirty Island with major issues with trash, rubbish. Malta only has a few beaches, that are often overcrowded, however, you'll always be within 15/20 to get to the coast... which is rocky, with shape rocks so make sure you take water shoes... and in many cases, the water is very deep but great for swimming. Use the beaches at all times if with small children or those that can't swim. If you plan on visiting, I highly recommend you stay in Selima ... this way, you'll have easy excess to local transport for visiting the entire Island... and you're within walking distance to the nightlife, the main capital Valletta either by Bus, water taxi, or walking if you wish. And you'll have plenty to do in the evenings... whatever you prefer, either chilled, relaxed or something a little wilder. Valletta, even the main city and as beautiful as it is ... isn't really like your average city... after sunset, it becomes very chilled and closes up. All the action is over in Selima, and St.Julians. [along the central north coast] Bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes... Valletta does have a few Restaurants.. however, it's worth a visit in the evening, both the day and night offer two completely different vibes... there really isn't much going on after sunset. Shop wise ... nothing, just tacky clothing shops and gift shops. - But a 'Most' if vistiting. Apart from the driving, the Island is totally safe. You will however find bars near the Ferry port in Valletta... but Clubs are a total NO NO... this is all in St. Julian. Both Selima and St. Julians have that city vibe, and anyone not knowing would assume this area is the Capital. - Shops,... designer labels and household brands [Zara, M&S, pull and bear, Diesel, etc] bars, Malls, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, beach bars and restaurants and this area stays open till early hours into the morning... and is very family-oriented. While St.Julians is geared more toward your younger generation and stays open until 4 or 5 am into the morning.

very informative you missed to mention smarter car rentals, eco transportation fun and cool way to visit some of the best attractions in malta. they can be lest from Valletta water front.
You can yes! You need a full driving license from your home country and some rentals ask to see an international driving license but mostly your countries license should be fine
Great informative video.. But lacking in info when it comes to holidays via travel agencies such as TUI or thomas cook. I'm wanting a resort you see, so info on excursions would be great. First time booking a holiday abroad! I'm really nervous, I just want it to be nice
It never gets really "cold". Can be windy and sometimes a lot of rain. Still I enjoy it here. Extremely relaxing this time of the year. Yet you probably be surprised, actually a lot of cars and traffic jams here all year around.
Malta has degenerated into an overcrowded mess of tourists, almost 2,000,000 per year making a few traders and business types very rich but ruining the beaches and historic sites in the process. You must pay for a place at certain beaches in Malta and prices are doubled in summer. Both my visits to Malta were spoiled by overcrowding and rip off tourist prices. I was born in Malta but I shall not return.
Well, if you were born there you should have known better. I used to live there and i know for a fact that you could avoid the overcrowding had you opted for the south-end instead of Slima and the northern part of the Island. Or even historic cities such as Rabat , Naxxar and Qormi near the Airport.

I've lived in Malta since 2004. What's great about the country is we drive on the left (i.e. the correct side) and a little café in Valletta called Gambrinus. The bad side is, well everything else. You will NEVER find a bigger hive of scum and villainy. If you are going diving please take garbage bags with you and collect some litter.
Paceville is best avoided at night. Do not let your payment card out of your sight in restaurants etc. Carry your back pack at the front. Don't hire a car, bike, scooter etc. If you have to get a taxi get bolt app. If there's no price on something don't ask.

Intrepid Travel offers some good tours, including a few cruises that visit Malta and Italy. For best areas, Sliema has plenty of hotels and restaurants to choose from and prices in Valletta and Gzira are fair too.

It really depends what you want to do. If you plan on sightseeing then temperature is comfortable for that. It can be warm enough for a swim occasionally but not often.
I was there 3 years ago for the second half of November. We had between 20 and 23°C during the daylight hours and slightly below 20° in the evenings, we absolutely loved it! Also not a single drop of rain during our entire stay. Went again in March 22 - wouldn't recommend that so much, max. temperatures of 20°, often cloudy, windy and the occasional rain, too.
Yes you can visit Malta in November but don’t expect to be able to swim too often and bring layers. Average highs are 20C but it can drop down to around 14C during the evenings
They speak some of arabic language so we the Arab countries understand them especially the north African (they have a big history with the Islam and the arabs)
Malta is not a city, it’s an island.. 🙂 Although people do cycle here it is not great for cycling in general, too many cars, lorries etc. and virtually no cycle lanes. Plus in summer it’s way too hot.
Malta is also jam packed with people and cars and construction sites and litter. A big proportion of the locals are into money, while a bigger proportion of the population are pissed off at this situation. We need to breath here. We're suffocating, if you know what that means. For all those planning to visit, cancel, don't waste your money here. You could pray for us and send warm wishes instead. Thank you for your attention.

just booked my 3 star hotel for 39 euros per night in malta. This is in December. Flights were around 40 euros in and out with ryanair :D
Let us know the hotel name, it really helps our viewers! Thank you 🙏
Great country to visit. Cannot miss it, and also great people
What are you proud of as Maltese Ray?
I love Malta We go there every summer!
Are there any must sees or must dos for the month of August?
@@Cinnomonblast Definitely go to the Blue lagoon and parachuting (when your attached to a boat ) is definitely a must do!
"CTG", WHAT A PROFESSIONAL, EXCELLENT & INFORMATIVE TRAVEL VLOG👏👏 👏. PROUD TO BE MALTESE BORN & BRED 🇲🇹♥ . Several years away and still so much in love with my beautiful historic island ⚔ 🇲🇹 🛡 😍 🙏.

Another great video guys - well done.
Thank you!
Valletta best city I have visited
Such a pretty city!
I'm going on a cruise and stopping here. Do you have any tips or ideas ?
very informative you missed to mention smarter car rentals, eco transportation fun and cool way to visit some of the best attractions in malta. they can be lest from Valletta water front.
Thanks for sharing your tips!
Amazing 😍😍😍
Thank you for your comprehensive information
Glad to hear you found it helpful!
I’m watching this video 1 hour before I go to the airport
Yay have a great trip!
thank you for the detailed video.... can we rent bikes (two-wheelers like in Thailand) to go around the island?
You can yes! You need a full driving license from your home country and some rentals ask to see an international driving license but mostly your countries license should be fine
Never knew it was so populated!
Malta have 365 churches!!
Beautiful. Thanks.
Our pleasure!
Malta looks great
Beautiful video Thank you so much.
Thank you!
From October 2022 public transport in Malta will be free
Thanks for the update! That is so helpful for our watchers!
which will make things even worse.
Do you know what date free transport? Also is it just for locals or tourists as well? Tia
Но не и за туристите, както установих през януари 2023 година.
My grandmother was born in Malta and my relatives go back once every few years God I wish I could get out of California !!!!!
Very informative but what about info on Gozo?
Creative travel creative travel creative travel! Is the best she told many about malta
Also creative travel guide you missed that Malta is a languadge of 4 kinds witch are french Arabic English and Italian
Fabulous place.
A nice looking place.
Great informative video.. But lacking in info when it comes to holidays via travel agencies such as TUI or thomas cook. I'm wanting a resort you see, so info on excursions would be great. First time booking a holiday abroad! I'm really nervous, I just want it to be nice
I’m over 50% Maltese and look so Mediterranean but have never been !
Hope you get to go one day!
I plan on visiting in January, do you think I'll be able to enjoy the water
Hi Valerie, waters in Malta will be cold in January around 16 degrees.
It never gets really "cold". Can be windy and sometimes a lot of rain. Still I enjoy it here. Extremely relaxing this time of the year. Yet you probably be surprised, actually a lot of cars and traffic jams here all year around.
It's not that warm in the Winter!
It ranges between 7-16°C. I'd say that's pretty warm compared to other countries. Yeah this year is an exception but it's still quite warm.
Malta is very Good contry and like this my one time i look malta my dream but when i dont know beacuse im poor
I hope you get to visit one day!
Go choose somewhere else, the world is a big place!
Well, if you were born there you should have known better.
I used to live there and i know for a fact that you could avoid the overcrowding had you opted for the south-end instead of Slima and the northern part of the Island.
Or even historic cities such as Rabat , Naxxar and Qormi near the Airport.
@@josephmicallef5941 I have toured all of Australia and Tasmania, Antartica, China, Japan, Vietnam, laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Noumea, America, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Bali, New Zealand, Singapore Hawaii,Gozo and Malta. Where have you been Joseph?
Great video! Sadly a friend of ours didnt let us enjoy the video and wanted to explain us everything in detail by himself. We will come back to this video and watch it more careful :) Thank you a bunch!
Egal
Haha hope you were abae to come back and watch it again! Happy travels! 😊
great video! thank you so much😃
Glad you liked it!
beautiful pictures, a great idea for a next trip
The summer is too hot to be out in most of the time, and the over-building on the island has irretrievably spoiled it. Out of greed, it seems 'they' are busy letting the same thing happen in Gozo. Wake up Heritage Gozo! Take Action.
Yes, definitely! Malta can be quite hot in the summer.
@@CreativeTravelGuide Errrr... that's an understatement! It's far too hot to be out in most of July and August.
We currently live in Thailand so maybe we are too used to the hotter temperatures lol. 😓
@@CreativeTravelGuide looks like Annabelle is happy making money on the Island but complains in every possible way. Looking at her comments….. its hot, over built, greed, expensive… bla bla bla. Well Im glad that most of the comments here are the opposite. Well done for this video. Very informative and professional.
Greedy people are everywhere even in your country
I've lived in Malta since 2004. What's great about the country is we drive on the left (i.e. the correct side) and a little café in Valletta called Gambrinus. The bad side is, well everything else. You will NEVER find a bigger hive of scum and villainy. If you are going diving please take garbage bags with you and collect some litter.
Scams to look out for
Please don't slam the door on your way out.
Are scooters or ebikes good forms of transportation?
Any advice for solo female Travelers?
Safety, food, areas to stay in and avoids, scams.
Paceville is best avoided at night. Do not let your payment card out of your sight in restaurants etc. Carry your back pack at the front. Don't hire a car, bike, scooter etc. If you have to get a taxi get bolt app. If there's no price on something don't ask.
@@maltesephil thank you. I heard Malta dosent have fixed price on food according to the comments is this true. Also I'm thinking of doing group tours any you would recommend that are good affordable? Best place to stay in Malta?
Thanks for sharing your advise
Intrepid Travel offers some good tours, including a few cruises that visit Malta and Italy. For best areas, Sliema has plenty of hotels and restaurants to choose from and prices in Valletta and Gzira are fair too.
@@CreativeTravelGuide Thank you.
What is exact location at 8:14?
Malta is beautiful country
Now you can use uber in malta
I was there in October last year and it's absolutely beautiful
It is such a beautiful place! Which area did you visit?
@@CreativeTravelGuide I went all over as I rented a car so visited Gozo and Comino. Also to Valletta, The Three Cities, Mdina and Victoria so pretty much everywhere and even did my own vlog.
Sound awesome, you are very welcome to move here, in our amazing island!😂
How was the weather in October? 😁
Number 10 - remember you'll have to go back to your country... Eventually
I see a lack of trees there
Само камъни и море. Добре, че бях през зимата.
Can you tell me if the weather is good in Nov ? Or would it be cold in Nov / Thanks
It really depends what you want to do. If you plan on sightseeing then temperature is comfortable for that. It can be warm enough for a swim occasionally but not often.
@@CreativeTravelGuide so basically it's cold in November
I was there 3 years ago for the second half of November. We had between 20 and 23°C during the daylight hours and slightly below 20° in the evenings, we absolutely loved it! Also not a single drop of rain during our entire stay.
Went again in March 22 - wouldn't recommend that so much, max. temperatures of 20°, often cloudy, windy and the occasional rain, too.
I wanna see malta
Beautiful Country!
Is it ok to visit Malta in November
Yes you can visit Malta in November but don’t expect to be able to swim too often and bring layers. Average highs are 20C but it can drop down to around 14C during the evenings
They speak some of arabic language so we the Arab countries understand them especially the north African (they have a big history with the Islam and the arabs)
I live in malta I don’t know why I’m watching this
#Scuba 🤿 Diving
October - June
Summer: crowd
wow very nice country
I never knew malta could go up to 60° Celsius
Is Malta a bicycle friendly city?
Malta is not a city, it’s an island.. 🙂
Although people do cycle here it is not great for cycling in general, too many cars, lorries etc. and virtually no cycle lanes. Plus in summer it’s way too hot.
what about hunting in gozo, allowed all day and night, it's a small island, no place where you can't hear it all day,
i am going here on Vacation this summer (2023) and great video 🎉❤❤
Yay hope you had an awesome time!
И аз установих това. Съчувствам ви, за съжаление тълпите от туристи от цял свят са примамени от легендарната история на острова. Те са съвременните варвари завладяващи света. Поздрав от България, и тук вече сме нападнати от тези тълпи хора.
I will loved to visit malta next year i hope wen i get more money to travel 😎 , saludos amigos
Malta with its rich hiSHtory
Wow...
What is the name of the beach @4.49?
Ghajn tuffieha or in inglish golden bay
yeah in Malta as long as you beep you cannot be blamed for anything
Is there snow in Malta
It very rarely snows in Malta!
Instead of e cabs use bolt or uber they are cheaper
Thank you for your suggestions!
I been next to the wembley store
ILove malta
I want to visit they how can I go about it
Where are you based? There are plenty of direct flights into Malta and so many affordable hostels too!
Bolt are more cheaper
Thanks for the feedback!
How much would it be for a bolt from the airport to gzira do you know that maybe?
Molta is the best I live in molta
That’s great! Any places you would recommend to visitors?
The best churches to visit are not free.
