hebneh I have a question because I have my own little theory. Your mom is all there mentally. Does she also have decent hearing and vision? Doesn’t matter if she has to wear glasses or a hearing aid. I’ve noticed that the older people that are very mentally sharp also seem still able to hear and see. What I was thinking is that if you can still hear and see good then your brain is still being stimulated. Therefore you lose less neurons. I think really rings true with the vision and the ability to be able to read. Like I said this is my own little theory. I’m just an interested person. I’m not in that field of study.
Yes, she can hear and see, although of course both of those senses are impaired somewhat. I agree these would be more likely to keep someone going longer.
@MMM. It defiantly depends what generation a person is born into. None of my generation born in the 1950’s is doing very well. Sedentary office jobs, little exercise, fast food, food grown with pesticides. My grandparents and their parents grew their own food and worked hard physically in the gardens, fields, yards. They used almost no pesticide and what they did use on rare occasion was a mild seven dust. But the corporation recently changed the formula to something toxic. They all lived into upper 80’s and into upper 90’s. My Dad taught school and was somewhat sedentary at work but he always worked hard in the yard and had physical hard jobs in the summer and lived to 84 even after factoring some years of smoking and drinking at earlier age, Of course with teaching he had real good health insurance which helped a lot. Good insurance is gone now days unless a person is rich or has great corporate job to cover it which are few, So I expect life expectancy will be dropping in the future. If a person can’t be physically active and eat right at least be rich like Crosby of crosby, stills, nash and young where a person can buy a new liver. 🤣

This sweet woman reminds me so much of my mom who lived to age 95. My mom was a strong Christian. She was sharp as a tack right up until the end just like this dear woman. My mom also grew up in Missouri and taught school before she married my dad. She even used some of the same expressions in her speech that I haven't heard others use very often. Tears!
She looked amazing and had a wonderful memory. She kept herself current and engaged in activities. We could learn a lot from Fern and others that live a long time. I'm not surprised that she lived to be 105. Such wisdom.
I think I found my new role model. Didn't have college debt, no credit cards, didn't buy what she could never afford, no kids, positive attitude... SMART LADY!!!!!!!
She's right. One takes it for granted, until it is destroyed. My story is a tick bite, that wasn't detected. Got me Lyme Disease, that got a bit better, but still I am handicapped by it. In what should be the prime of my life, I feel older than my 85 year old neighbor. Did in two sessions very light garden work today, whilst sitting. So much hurts now, that I feel ill from it. Finally did take another pain killer, though I want to go easy on my liver.
What a beautiful lady inside & out! I wish I could’ve known her!…. She may have retired from teaching many years ago, but she was still teaching those who were fortunate enough to know her! She gave a lot of great advice in this interview!…. Rest in peace, sweet Fern🙏✝️❤️
She sure is a beautiful person, inside and out! She has the greatest outlook on life. She is very wise, lives simply and stays happy. I love her beautiful smile!! 😊
This lady’s got it figured out. I really enjoyed hearing her perspective. This is someone who enjoys the here and now, but still holds on to good memories. Too many people live in a “what if” world. They’re never happy. So they die early and miserable. Be like Fern Groh!
@Blessed Bears. Know what you mean. My Grandmas would go visit other old ladies and I loved going to visit and listen the them when I was little. Sometimes they bored me but not often. Their smiles and laughter meant a lot and hearing the occasional old story of by gone eras.
Wow what a wonderful woman. She's a woman with wisdom. So sharp minded. I wish our generation could live this long. May she R.I.P, definitely admired her. ;)
I cried for almost 10 mins when I saw this. Reminder of my good friend that was almost 60 years older than I was and he was my best friend. 28 years, throughout my childhood, this man taught me how to live.
O my...how wonderful...she just gave me the best secret in life..that is to be happy and take proper care of myself..i was so depressed thinking im running out of time, getting older...but she proved me very wrong..thank you so much for sharing...im just gonne be happy from now on🤗
My next-door neighbor died at 102 in 1984, I was 17, and spent A LOT of time throughout my childhood and early teens talking with him. He was a wonderful gift to our neighborhood and inspiration. He stayed active, ate moderately, smoked a pipe, cigars and drank a 6 pack of Yuengling beer per week, retired after 50+ years as a machinist, was married twice. His second wife was 36 years younger than him, they married when he was 66 yrs old.
Listening to Fern is calming. I work with the elderly and in particular, 3 Centenarians. Fern is very alert and 'with it'. Only one of the ladies is this alert but in body not so healthy. I find that they all have a clear message. Live a healthy and good life.
Always love older people. I grow up with my greatgrand mother, who died at 106 years old in 1969 until now I do miss her so much she was a wise and loving. woman.God bless them all.
What a blessing of a video! What a beautiful person she was. That is what a relationship with God can do for you and your health. Look at the peace this women had. I really enjoyed listening to her. Thank You Fern!!!
Fern is lovely and she looks so much younger than 103 and has such a sharp mind. However, many people who believe in a god do not live long lives or even have good health. What could that mean?
Lois, there is no single one variable dear... Spirituality has been studied and it does have a very significant positive effect on a person's sense of well-being and therefore, contributes to their overall health.
I probably watched this more than a dozen since I first saw it no more than 3years ago. She deserves all that she had especially the happiness you can see in her. I can feel her heart. She's incredibly witty, honest and so down-to-earth, and most importantly her faith in God is so inspiring. I hope that she prays for all of us to live the way she has lived. She's a saint to me, a truly blessed person.
What a sweet lady, I would not have guessed she was almost 103! I would have guessed mid to late 80's.. I love these kinds of videos. Thanks for sharing.

Smart as a whip and such a beautiful spirit .......wishing her many more years & Blessings! I'd love to hear her life story when young an see pics too.
I wish I could've been a part of her life. She's so beautiful inside and out with perfect skin. She is truly happy and such a great example of what a Christian should look and sound like. No telling how many lives she has changed being admired by everyone that crossed her path in this life. I believe she got a straight ticket to Heaven and a bit of Heaven on earth. To bad its so few and far between to cross someone like her and she will continue to change everyone that listens to her.
@Cathy Scarvey. Don’t let the perfect skin fool ya. She isn’t dirt poor and a good dermatologist goes a long way. Plus she had only inside work, didn’t get out in the sun, I go to church with well to do ladies up in years. They go missing for several months and suddenly emerge 50 pounds thinner and with their eye bags gone. When asked they say they were off visiting family out of state or they just did a detox diet.
Wow. That wonderful woman is my new inspiration as I just turned 70. What a blessed person she is. And I agree. God is good and He is with us always. I have found that living a life of faith and gratitude does truly make me happy.
This lady is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen. She is beautiful inside. She is beautiful outside. She is so wise. Reminds me of my grandma who passed away at age 89 after working to support her family from her teenaged years to age 65. She worked in the State of Missouri Cancer Hospital laundry, became the supervisor eventually and loved it. My grandma always saved and always used cash. What a fabulous generation.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. What a beautiful, wise, intelligent lady...one to be emulated! She reminds me of my Great Aunt Janie who lived to be 2 months shy of 102. Perhaps the main key to her “happiness” is rooted in her thankful spirit. Counting our blessings tends to create a happy heart.
@oleander garden. Most of them are actually younger. They weren’t born in hospitals back then and children didn’t have social security numbers so there was no legal documentation as to where they were born to prove their age. Some lie on purpose for attention and money and some simply can’t remember their age so they pick one.
Wonderful What a blessing to have this recorded. I’m fortunate to have all four of my grandparents in video. My son is old enough to have great memories of my moms parents. But my daughter is 12 years younger than her brother and doesn’t remember them they passed when she was little. My dads parents passed when I was a older teen. Oh how I miss my dads mom still.
At 75 I have watched and listened 2 this wonderful person and felt " so happy" just hearing her views on life...I feel renewed and strangely it's as if she voiced so many of my own feelings...this kind of video is what we need more often...her fresh energy is good 4 All of us...
Nikoletta omg. I hope her family getting all her memoirs in detail on film. Just 20 min at a time for months. Don’t tire her. Interview best time of day for her and just let her talk at her own pace. Don’t fire questions at her. Just let her TALK

And no lisp. Did she still have teeth?!
VERY BEAUTIFUL SMILE...EVEN HER BEAUTIFUL EYES SMILE WITH BEAUTY.
Tears!
Hello 👋how are you doing?
She looked amazing and had a wonderful memory. She kept herself current and engaged in activities. We could learn a lot from Fern and others that live a long time. I'm not surprised that she lived to be 105. Such wisdom.
Hello Lynn how are you doing today?
She looks amazing for her blessed age. The elderly are truly walking history books. We can learn so much from them.
A wonderful interview with a wonderful lady. Life's treasured moments...
....Life's treasured moments.....!
You can say that again!
I think I found my new role model. Didn't have college debt, no credit cards, didn't buy what she could never afford, no kids, positive attitude... SMART LADY!!!!!!!

What a beautiful lady. I love hearing the elders share their stories.
theyre the ones that know the mosy!
OCDTraci - If only the youngsters of today could listen to the stories of their elders, but sadly, that respect has now been lost!
She's beautiful woman
It puts things into perspective. Listening to the older generation assists the young in planning ahead too.Live life to the full x

She is right about "Rich is good health", if you have health you have everything.

How long did she live to be?

Amen! Health is everything, so very true!
She reminds me of my grandma! Mine just turned 92! And her name is Fern, too!
Oh wow what a coincidence
What a beautiful lady inside & out! I wish I could’ve known her!…. She may have retired from teaching many years ago, but she was still teaching those who were fortunate enough to know her! She gave a lot of great advice in this interview!…. Rest in peace, sweet Fern🙏✝️❤️
She bought her car, and house in cash. Just shows how we've been brainwashed into being dependent on credit and loans.
Amen to that..our government is made up of cowards privleged thieves.
So True, Atlas Shrugged is a great book.

We keep making things more difficult than they need to be. She lives a simple beautiful life. We should all be so gracious.
Love the Lord your God, first......and all of these things, health wealth friends, will be added onto you......❤
she's amazing lucid, stable and interactive for 102, this is just amazing! Such a sweet woman
She sure is a beautiful person, inside and out! She has the greatest outlook on life. She is very wise, lives simply and stays happy. I love her beautiful smile!! 😊
I noticed that too
Wow, the clear voice and clear mind is astounding. God bless her!
She is so precious.
Wow I am 65 and I hope I can be more like her....what a beautiful person!
She is articulate and so with it. I have never seen someone that age so razor sharp!
This lady’s got it figured out. I really enjoyed hearing her perspective. This is someone who enjoys the here and now, but still holds on to good memories. Too many people live in a “what if” world. They’re never happy. So they die early and miserable. Be like Fern Groh!
I miss my grandma so much. Just being simple and being around an older generation is what I miss so much! Hearing her is precious!
Grandmas are the best!!!
at least you got to talk to your grandma
@@svgarcoqted l
@Blessed Bears. Know what you mean. My Grandmas would go visit other old ladies and I loved going to visit and listen the them when I was little. Sometimes they bored me but not often. Their smiles and laughter meant a lot and hearing the occasional old story of by gone eras.
A lovely lady with a beautiful smile.
Wow what a wonderful woman. She's a woman with wisdom. So sharp minded. I wish our generation could live this long. May she R.I.P, definitely admired her. ;)
Watching in 2019...What a sweet soul, great interview.
Hii baby hw r u
I cried for almost 10 mins when I saw this. Reminder of my good friend that was almost 60 years older than I was and he was my best friend. 28 years, throughout my childhood, this man taught me how to live.
Who could put their thumbs down at this. Dear me, there’s some desperately unhappy, bitter people in the world. This woman brightened up my day
Hello Caroline how are you doing today?
O my...how wonderful...she just gave me the best secret in life..that is to be happy and take proper care of myself..i was so depressed thinking im running out of time, getting older...but she proved me very wrong..thank you so much for sharing...im just gonne be happy from now on🤗
Contentment in whatever situation you're in..."in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God."
She looks wonderful and her mind is perfectly sound.
Thank you!
Her voice is still clear beautiful
She is satisfied with her life and she is happy. Thats it !!
What a sweet lady and mentally sharp. Hope she lives forever.
Holy cow, what a man!
Wow
Listening to Fern is calming. I work with the elderly and in particular, 3 Centenarians. Fern is very alert and 'with it'. Only one of the ladies is this alert but in body not so healthy. I find that they all have a clear message. Live a healthy and good life.
Hello Kt this video is really inspiring i feel motivated ..Kt what do you think about this video?
Always love older people. I grow up with my greatgrand mother, who died at 106 years old in 1969 until now I do miss her so much she was a wise and loving. woman.God bless them all.
Wow thats a grand age god bless 😊
What was her diet like?
What a blessing of a video! What a beautiful person she was.
That is what a relationship with God can do for you and your health.
Look at the peace this women had.
I really enjoyed listening to her.
Thank You Fern!!!
Fern is lovely and she looks so much younger than 103 and has such a sharp mind. However, many people who believe in a god do not live long lives or even have good health. What could that mean?

Such a wonderful lady, so wise and lovely. Would have loved to have her as a grandmother. Bless her heart
Karen how are you doing today..i hope everything is fine with you?
I probably watched this more than a dozen since I first saw it no more than 3years ago. She deserves all that she had especially the happiness you can see in her. I can feel her heart. She's incredibly witty, honest and so down-to-earth, and most importantly her faith in God is so inspiring. I hope that she prays for all of us to live the way she has lived. She's a saint to me, a truly blessed person.

What a sweet lady, I would not have guessed she was almost 103! I would have guessed mid to late 80's.. I love these kinds of videos. Thanks for sharing.
God bless her spirit!! I enjoyed this interview!! I would have loved to have sat with Ms.Fern! She had such a delighted soul! Rest peacefully Fern!
WOW.....I wish I could have known her. What an inspiration. My mother was like that, always happy and she loved people and God, she passed at age 93. I miss her so. I'm going to save this video so that when I'm down I can listen to it again. It really makes me feel happy. Rest in peace sweet lady.
Smart as a whip and such a beautiful spirit .......wishing her many more years & Blessings! I'd love to hear her life story when young an see pics too.
She is amazing. My Mom died in 2016 just after turning 98. She was a nurse in World War 2.

This was absolutely uplifting to watch! What an incredible, sprightly lady!
Hello Cathy
How are you doing?
@Cathy Scarvey. Don’t let the perfect skin fool ya. She isn’t dirt poor and a good dermatologist goes a long way. Plus she had only inside work, didn’t get out in the sun, I go to church with well to do ladies up in years. They go missing for several months and suddenly emerge 50 pounds thinner and with their eye bags gone. When asked they say they were off visiting family out of state or they just did a detox diet.
Cute lady my 3rd cousin was 109 when she died this lady reminds me if her. She lived in her home 108 years it was built by her Father.
Lots of wisdom, like my mother who lived to 92 and was very sharp and active until the last 6 months from CHF. Lovely, charming, hilarious mom.
I think her longevity is due to common sense and her laugh. She had a great laugh.
Hello Berkeley how are you doing?
I'm extremely shocked too. ..she is so beautiful and her sense of Humor is beyond words at this age...may God bless this lady.

OMG. I love this precious lady. She is so beautiful and smart. Her teeth are just as perfect as a young girl. God bless her heart.

She's was sharp as a tack even at 103!
She looks much much younger! And she's an amazing individual--filled with inspiration and good advices
@oleander garden. Most of them are actually younger. They weren’t born in hospitals back then and children didn’t have social security numbers so there was no legal documentation as to where they were born to prove their age. Some lie on purpose for attention and money and some simply can’t remember their age so they pick one.
Wonderful
What a blessing to have this recorded.
Hello 👋 how’re you doing?
this is amazing. I love sitting down and just listening to what older people have been through. Shes so sweet. :)
I don’t know why I’m worrying about looking old. This woman is stunning at 100+.

Hello Melanie how are you doing today i hope you enjoyed washing this video?
"I'm Christian....you should close to God". True, all blessing is from Him.
At 75 I have watched and listened 2 this wonderful person and felt " so happy" just hearing her views on life...I feel renewed and strangely it's as if she voiced so many of my own feelings...this kind of video is what we need more often...her fresh energy is good 4 All of us...
She is so good for her age omg, her mind hasnt aged at all, wow. Good genes
Nikoletta omg. I hope her family getting all her memoirs in detail on film. Just 20 min at a time for months. Don’t tire her. Interview best time of day for her and just let her talk at her own pace. Don’t fire questions at her. Just let her TALK
If i make it to be that old.. the only thing I can hope for is that I still have my mind. Nothing is more sad than watching someone you love lose their memory.
She is great Ibet she is Conservative and religious. Spiritual people live long life.

@@mahribeneda6462 you mistake spirituality for religiosity.. you wont find the secret.. but people live as long as they need to get what they need.. or until they can't get past things...if they can't go any further... they die.. if they learned what they came for, and they want to they die..
