I would like to add a honorable mention that, for the same reason as Aboutrika, flies off everyones radar Alex de souza The only thing I need to mention is that the guy scored 421 goals and gave 363 assists, exclusively as a midfielder He top the assist chart of both the libertadores and a Champions league desspite playing for fernebaçe (leading them to the highest finishing of a turkish team that is not galatassaray) Won two copa americas being the capitain, MVP of oneof them, and benching the 1th and 2th place of the list at their peaks at the national team, amd he had the greatest peak I personally ever seen, in a single season he registered 39 goals and 39 assists, winning every title he could with a club that was fighti g relegation in the prior season The only reason nobody putshim in the conversation is because when he was brought to play in the big stage, the italian league, a series of complications and problems with the coach meant that he spent two of his best years almost without playing and recieved a ban from football which resulted in him not being called for the wprld champeons brazil in 2002 And so he decided to play om turkey where he was winning the super lig player of the year award almost every year, is on the top 3 top scorers of this century and is the all time assist provider of the league, and in my opinion, is the last classic 10
I’m ranking Müller and KDB above Kaka. Their consistent world class through their whole career, winning it all can only be topped by the magic of Dinho
that is the mentality I dislike the most in football analysis, Kaka was elite from 2002 to 2009, at a level better than KDB or Muller ever reached... that's more than enough. This ain't some cold lifeless analysis... where you take the 8 for 14 years instead of the 10 for 7 years... and besides IF we are being honest those 2 were at elite for only 3 years more than Kaka, which doesn't make up for the fact Kaka was at a higher level In his elite level playing period
Kaka also won it all, when compared with KDB and Muller. And he did all of this while being the best player on the team and the ballon d'or. Muller was never the best player on Bayern's winning seasons, neither was KDB. During City's treble run, people still argue if Haaland or KDB was the best player. And since City never managed to win the UCL with KDB, before Haaland came, I differ to say that Kaka is levels above KDB. Also i'm very subjective because i watched Kaka play during his prime, but he was absolutely amazing during 2004-2009, he would win games all by himself, something KDB or Muller rarely or never achieved.
@@midfielderlounge2592 man, in 2002 he was I believe player of the year at the brazilian season, at a time where even though things had already changed there were still a lot more elite players in South america than today. Attacking midfielder as a role has evolved dramatically over time. While ozil Bruno KDB are all attacking midfielder but very different in the way they operate. Attributes needed to play in a position is very different. Goalkeeper are expected to make good passes and wingers to track back always in defence. This change has been accelerated in post 2000 era. A good keeper in 2020 will be different from even his 2005-8 counterpart.
Honestly I think I'd maybe change a few spots in the list, but all of these players deserve to be there, that's a great list done by someone who understands football as shown by Riquelme and Müller being there.
I don't like it when people say Muller has average technical ability. He might not be flashy but he has loads of technical ability. You can't do what he does if you don't have great technical ability.

I think if KDB persists the same way he has been throughout his career he would easily take top spot. Plenty of midfielders achieved more and even primed in their 30’s and with how persistent KDB is I don’t see why he won’t get even better. Take Modric for example. Modric achieved most of his success past his 30’s and he primed two years older than KDB is now (when he won the ballon d’or).
If Silva had provided the exact same performances for e.g. United or Liverpool, there would be hoards of people screaming out for him to be the best #10 of our generation. He's criminally underrated and for me personally is in my best of 21st Century team. Pretty devastated to see him lower than Özil and Kaka, who - though arguably having the more impressive peak - has not been as constantly impressive. I can't remember a single bad individual performance by Silva until his early 30s...should be higher IMO. de Bruyne below Kaka is a disgrace

Wesley Sneidjer was the best player in 2010. He should have won the Ballon D'or that year. To take Inter to the Champions League, and Holland to the WC final.
Milito, Maicon and zanetti were better in inter and Robben was better in Netherlands. If Kaka and Ronaldinho had the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo they could well be up there with them in terms of greatness

Definitely, underrated
Nope. We know how good he was definitely not top 10
I would like to add a honorable mention that, for the same reason as Aboutrika, flies off everyones radar
Alex de souza
The only thing I need to mention is that the guy scored 421 goals and gave 363 assists, exclusively as a midfielder
He top the assist chart of both the libertadores and a Champions league desspite playing for fernebaçe (leading them to the highest finishing of a turkish team that is not galatassaray)
Won two copa americas being the capitain, MVP of oneof them, and benching the 1th and 2th place of the list at their peaks at the national team, amd he had the greatest peak I personally ever seen, in a single season he registered 39 goals and 39 assists, winning every title he could with a club that was fighti g relegation in the prior season
The only reason nobody putshim in the conversation is because when he was brought to play in the big stage, the italian league, a series of complications and problems with the coach meant that he spent two of his best years almost without playing and recieved a ban from football which resulted in him not being called for the wprld champeons brazil in 2002
And so he decided to play om turkey where he was winning the super lig player of the year award almost every year, is on the top 3 top scorers of this century and is the all time assist provider of the league, and in my opinion, is the last classic 10
Kaka And Ronaldinho Eternal Idols. Great Job Alfie. Thank You.
I like how he always says at the beginning of his videos he always says "in my view"
But here he says "indisputably"
Alfie, a true RUclips gem
I’m ranking Müller and KDB above Kaka. Their consistent world class through their whole career, winning it all can only be topped by the magic of Dinho
that is the mentality I dislike the most in football analysis, Kaka was elite from 2002 to 2009, at a level better than KDB or Muller ever reached... that's more than enough. This ain't some cold lifeless analysis... where you take the 8 for 14 years instead of the 10 for 7 years... and besides IF we are being honest those 2 were at elite for only 3 years more than Kaka, which doesn't make up for the fact Kaka was at a higher level
In his elite level playing period
kaka wasnt elite in 2002..He played only for 18 minutes in 2002 world cup@@Luckymag-if4dw
@@Luckymag-if4dw from 2004 to 2009
Kaka also won it all, when compared with KDB and Muller.
Ronaldinho best cam we have ever seen. It is indisputable

The fact that Okocha and Djorkaeff got honourable mentions, well there's a reason people chant "Bolton are massive"
I don't like it when people say Muller has average technical ability. He might not be flashy but he has loads of technical ability. You can't do what he does if you don't have great technical ability.
I’m looking forward to seeing if Salah makes it into top 7 right wingers since 2000. I’m sure he will
He surely will be in the top 7. Alongside Robben, and of course, if he counts as a winger, Messi.
My list before watching, from "least good" to best: James, Sneijder, Ozil, David Silva, Kaka, KDB, Ronaldinho
Müller?
At the very least muller is better than sneijder and james

Never thought I’d hear Marek Hamsik’s name uttered in a top attacking midfielder video. It’s a shame that bigger teams like Man U and Barcelona didn’t pick him up because he was tearing it up in Serie A for a long while.
Nice to see Alfie finally show Big Sam the respect he deserves by putting Jay Jay and Djorkaeff in the honorable mentions list. Both fine merchants of the Allardici system.

Brilliant,good friend Alfie!!!🏋️♂️😊
Video Idea: The expansion of the World Cup to include 48 teams, and it's impact, for better or worse, on the sport.
I must add Juninho Pernambucano as a honorable mention
Also Ronaldinho wasn't a CAM at his prime. He was an inverted winger type.

@@charanb5026 that's not really what I meant. That may be true as well, of course they aren't as well supported as other EPL teams who have been top tier clubs for far longer and have more tradition. Not a city fan here BTW, just pointing out my observation. Been following PL football closely for 15 years and I believe City players tend to get fewer recognition fot their acchievements...

You are spot on with David Silva. He doesn't really have the physical talent of many of these other players, and neither is he as gifted, but he has a football IQ greater than all of them. With the other players, when they do something wonderful, you'd go, "How did he do this!" While with Silva, it's, "How did he think of this" He is still my favorite EPL player to date❤
Would like to have seen Riquelme higher but otherwise a great list. Glad Gourcouff got a mention too.
Wesley Sneidjer was the best player in 2010. He should have won the Ballon D'or that year. To take Inter to the Champions League, and Holland to the WC final.
He wasn't even the best Inter or Netherlands player... let alone best in the world.
*The Netherlands
Milito, Maicon and zanetti were better in inter and Robben was better in Netherlands. He was just the only one to be in both teams and because of his teams’ success, he somehow got a shout for the ballon d’or. He definitely deserved 4th, nothing higher or lower than that. Also sneijder didn’t really have that many world class seasons outside of that
@@nicodiangelo7051 Inter definitely was a defensive team, however they needed him to unlock the other team, remember that pass to Etoo at the Bridge. As for the Netherlands, he was the one to pass the ball to Robben to have the 1 on 1 was Casillas.

Zidane's prime was in the 1990s😂😂, watching Zidane in 1995-1998 is one the best players I've ever watched. Zidane won the ballon d'Or and the World Cup in 1998 and retired in 2006 after 4 very weak years for the player which were very disrupted. To call Zidane a top ten greatest player of all time I'd agree 100% but in the 2000s he ain't making the top ten attacking midfielders

I'm fine with Ronaldinho he was way more than stats and trophys and I can argue about Kaka who also was literally the best in the world at one point but de Bruyne has no argument especially after he only won the big one after he got the best team mate a nr 10 could ask for since CR7 played with Özil.
