My team dominated the center and won almost every single time I played on this stage. And it’s so creative how there was a way to lock up the turf so no one could reach it after sending it behind the glass wall. 1. Of course, MC princess diaries. And I agree with everything trinity said about this stage in the video. The layout and especially the sky were really cool and being able to use hyperbombs and the killer wail was really amazing. But coming from a person who’s never played Octo Expansion, being put in one of the most exciting scenes from the DLC, seeing graphics I’ve never seen in-game before, and hearing music I’ve never heard coming from my switch before was absolutely awesome. (Btw, the bunker games and Furler in the Ashes look really really cool, but I didn’t want to put it on the list because I’ve never played on those two stages before. I missed both splatfests, and because of time zones, I missed those stages during final fest. And I don’t have any friends that play Splatoon 2, so I can’t play on those stages in private battle)
Like I said in the comment, because of the mechanics that the stage used, it inspired me to change the way I played Splatoon 2 completely. And also it was the first splatfest i actually put some effort in, meaning that it was the earliest one that I actually remember playing in (before I never really knew what i was doing when it came to splatfests and I don’t remember playing in any of those, but splatnet 2 says I did so...) and also I haven’t played on that stage in more than a year.
MC Princess Diaries, and Flooders in the Attic are my favorites. Since they were my first and last Splatfests. I'm just glad I got to experience Final Fest. It had its ups and downs, but overall, I had a lot of fun. I also loved that they played my new favorite song Shark Bytes (i hadn't known about it before FinalFest, because i never played Octo Expansion). That gave it quite a different feel. And then the Squid Sisters showed up for the first 2 days. That was major league awesomeness!
It truly was a great experience to participate in every single splatfest. I’m glad I was able to this time for Splatoon 2 compared to Splatoon which I barely had a chance to. The shifty stations were a unique addition to splatfest and in the end they were all pretty great,
Cannon Fire Pearl was the first Shifty Station I ever played on and I love it so much. I’m glad to see it get some recognition, most my friends hate on it a lot.
I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine you are in the Grapplink Girl shifty station. *Inkling/Octo uses sting ray to "fly octo fly" across the stage. You: WHAT THE FISH WAS THAT?!
Only reason why I would rank MC Princess Diaries lower is because the Princess Canon can break hyperbombs. You can literally burst 3 hyperbombs at once with the canon, as well as the chance of splatting people
Me too. You could be winning, things are looking good, but the enemy team somehow gets ahold of the cannon and fires. Instant lose because of all the damage it did
And that's why I would rank it lower. I like the idea of it being something to quickly turn tides, But I resent the fact that it pushes it so far that recovery is near impossible. That's not balanced gameplay Plus hyperbombs is another gimmick there, which is arguably more fair than the princess cannon
@@meggy1162 but then again it was the final splatfest, and come on. Is being able to fire a killer wail again for the first time since splatoon 1 not awesome?? Plus, its PEARLS killer wail from octo expansion!
I didn't get to play on MC Princess Diaries during the splatfest, so I'm SOOOOOO happy that we got the shifty stations in PB! It's super fun to play on MC Princess diaries, inking the bombs a little bit and then waiting for an enemy player to get close to you, then shooting the bomb so you can splat the enemy quickly is my favourite part of the stage!
My favorite stage was the bunker games. Not only does it have a large amount of turf to ink, getting the big one could turn the tides. And if anyone else was in there, it’s an intense battle to see who gets the turf. It can be a real tide turner for the enemy team or your team. I also like the name, since it’s a nice spin on the ides of The Hunger Games. Truly my favorite stage of all time. That is, until dear senpai came along...
Fun fact: Bridge To Tentaswitchia is based off a book, Bridge to Terabithia. (BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD) The bridge mechanic could be based off the ending of the book, where the protagonist offers to build a bridge as they have to cross a river every day, but the protagonist’s best friend says no, as she likes to use a very weak rope swing. The lack of a bridge caused her death as the rope snapped and she drowned, just how your downfall could be the bridge disappearing before you can cross or ink it.
My list (I know nobody care but I just made this for fun) : **LEAST FAVORITE FROM FAVORITE** *Terribles :* 24) Windmill House on the Pearlie 23) The Bouncey Twins 22) Fancy Spew 21) Zone Of Glass *Not too bad :* 20) Wayslide Cool 19) Goosponge 18) Grapplink Girl 17) The secret of S.P.L.A.T 16) The Bunker Games (I think this one is just "too stresseful" because I feel the need to rush to the zones) 15) Cannon Fire Pearl 14) Railway' Chillin' *Good ones :* 13) The Chronicles of Rolonium 12) Flooders in the Attics 11) A swiftly tilting balance 10) Gusher Town *wOW :* 9) Sweet Valley Tentacles 8) The Maze Dasher 7) *MC princess Diaries* (Yes, it's not my number 1, and ?) *OMG SENPAI :* 6) Bridge to Tentaswitchia 5) Zappy Longshoking 4) The Ink is spreading *3) The Splat in our Zones* *2) Furler in the Ashes* *1) The Switches*
I have 2 favorites. MC Princess Diaries, because... yeah. And Maze Dasher, because I like to join a private battle with friends, and splashdown, bomb, all sorts of stuff, on the dash tracks. I'm weird. :D
I remember during a splatfest, I died to a rolypoly. Then the guy who got me died to another rolypoly from my team. It kept happening. I will never forget the carnage left.
The only shifty station i DONT like is Bridge To Tentaswitchia. Sure it was cool and had a fun concept (in theory) but I always found my team losing in that stage because the enemy would ALWAYS take control of the middle and get the ENTIRE thing of moving turf. Afterward they moved into our spawn and destroyed us. I dont think I remember a single game that I won during the Tortoise VS Hare Splatfest where I won on Bridge to Tentaswitchia. But remember, its just a personal reason why I dont like it.
Railway chillin’ was my least favorite stage. I just feel like the match depended way too much on who took over mid, and it was hard to take back. Idk maybe it was just me
Because I was so late to the party (2019), I only got to play seven splatfests, including the rematches. That being said, out of all the ones I've played, my favorite shifty stations are: The Bridge to Tentaswitchia Furler In The Ashes (Beautiful and HUGE!) Railway Chillin' The Bunker Games (love that concept!) Cannon Fire Pearl.
6:48 i actually once had 2 of my team mates just camp the 2 gushers on the enemy side so they couldn't get past and me and my other teammate just covered absolutely everything. they got by like twice or something but they died. that was my most memorable match in this game. haven't played it since and not gonna
Dude do you imagine how many more minigames are gonna be able to be made with this For example, there could be a minigame with the Octolings VS Inklings Shifty Station where the objective is to pop all the tentacles rather than win the match This is gonna be so dope

1st custom stage: Imagine a stage with super pads (the ones in single player that super jump you) all around the stage to get around 2nd custom stage: The first one but with switches to control which team gets to use the super pads (if you use a super pad with the other color you get a splat message saying: Sunk into the other teams super pad!) 3rd custom stage: octo expansion equipper with weapons in mid (Inkjet, Burst bomb rush, Rainmaker model (no pedestal on the other side just the weapon)) And spin switches to put up a wall around mid (to make it less chaotic) (While in the equipper, you have the armor of a booyah bomb (if you die in it, it will cause damage to you until you hit zl (squid form and then super jump you out of mid (YOU CAN USE THE EQUIPPER AGAIN AFTER 20 SECONDS))))
I actually never played on MC Princess Diaries because I was scheduled for work and could not get back home in time to play the last day of the Splat Fest. I was just happy I got to get all my matches on day 2 when the actual best music in the game played by the Squid Sisters.
I didn't play too many splatfests, but a lot of the time I found myself playing the same Shifty Stations in the Final Fest due to me only playing when some were available. These include Secret of the S.P.L.A.T, Furlers in the Ashes and The Chronicles of Rolonium. Because I played those stages so many times, they feel so boring in my opinion. That's why many of the other Shifty Stations with cool mechanics are so much better in my opinion since I haven't played them as much/at all. (Obviously, I'm a little biased, but hey, that's my opinion.) For my number 1 favourite, I would say Grapplink Girl. I never played it during the Splatfest it was available but I have in Private Battles. It's my favourite because using the Sting Ray allows me to essentially teleport around the map >:)
Am I the only one who likes secret of splats Btw my top five: 5. The Splat in our Zone(would probably change when I play all splatfest stages) 4. MC.Princess Diaries 3. The Secret of Splat 2. The Bunker Games 1. Fulers in the Ashes IMO
I think that cause the final fest takes place AFTER octo expansion, they added in the NILS statue and the city in the distance like you saw in octo expansions ending, which shows how much detail they put into it
I really hate flooder in the Attic because its basically like turf war but a lazy way to use flooders. I really like the Ink is spreading because the spreaders do give you time if inked to get in and get some sweet kills. Also the spew in the middle DOES NOT last until the end of the match. It stops around 14 seconds and you have time to infiltrate into the base
SPOILER ALERT. By now most of you have beat Octo Expansion or have played it. But in case you have been living under a rock, there are spoilers for the last stage. But trust me. MC Princess Diaries is AWESOME.

I actually really liked The Maze Dasher because of all the dash pads. I agree with M.C. Princess Diaries to be first, though, because I really miss the Killer Wail from the original. I don't really like the Sting Ray that much, and adding Killer Wail back in was the best.
I figured that M.C Princess Daries would be number one on your list cause its a stage of anything from the Octo expansion story mode . And do like the layout and everything so its well respected
I havent played nearly 10 splatfests (i think) but i can agree, that M.C. Princess Diaries is the single best experience in this game. Nintendo always works hard for special events in their games, and their work here is a great gift for the Splatoon Comunity. (Also i hate Furler In The Ashes)
1. MC Princess Diaries 2. Furler in the Ashes 3. Wayslide Cool (my first won Splatfest all the way in 2020, kinda had to put it here) 5. The Bunker Games 6. Sweet Valley Tentacles 7. The Switches 25. Bridge to Tentaswitchia I have no idea how I ended up with 25 instead of 24. I probably repeated something on accident. If I did, lmk.
My only negative opinion about the shifty stations is that there is only one format for each shifty station. I kinda wish it was like the party boards on Mario Party Star Rush; even though there is a handful of boards that have a unique theme and gimmick, there are different variants of the boards.
On side of me is saying that MC Princess Diaries is my fave map because of literally everything about it, then the other side of me is like, “Y’all notice how Pearl can literally hover down from a helicopter then zoom back up to it, she can flyyyyyyyy, Splatfest flashbacks”
Least favorite: Grapplink Girl. The reason: I ALWAYS had to use the charger and I HATE the charger. Most favorite: Sweet Valley Tentacles. The reason: It's just so unique and I love it.
MC. Princess diaries is the best stage, it's awesome, it's has a story and of course the killerwail. It's the only special weapon that return from splatoon 1 kind of.
Personally, I like the maze dasher and railway chillin the most out of all the non-canon type stages, because I can do cool tricks. However, I REALLY like Mc Princess Diaries
Didn't get to play on a few of the shifties so can't really say a least favourite, but railway chillin, flooders in the attic and MC princess diaries have got to be my favourites
MC Princess Diaries was basically a huge spoiler to some people and they didn't even know it. But everyone knows about octo expansion so it doesn't matter anyways.
My favorite is _Bridge to Tentaswitchia,_ but that is in large part due to nostalgia, because SpringFest was my first ever Splatfest. But I also *really* like _Furler in the Ashes._ That was a beautiful, gigantic stage. I also like _Railway Chillin_ because you could shoot people down while on a grind rail. I also like _Cannon Fire Pearl._ The only other stage i have yet to experience in full is _The Bunker Games._ The rest of the stages, I really don't care about, including _MC Princess Diaries._
tbh MC. princes diaries is an awesome stage and if I had a private group than I would definitely play on this stage plus you can tell that they used the same wireframe for killer whale as they did in Splatoon 1 as the wireframe in Splatoon 1 was very obvious
omg 100% mc princess diaries is number 1 the princess cannon gimmick is amazing and it really makes it amazing with the addition of hyper bombs, it really captures the whole asthetic of the final battle in the octo expansion and the background, music, hyper bombs, the princess cannon everything makes it a stage desefving of number 1
*_Bold of you to assume I experienced all 24 Shifty Stations when they first debuted_* Ngl the only problem I have with MC Princess Diaries is that the stage is a bit too flat, but that's probably for the Princess Cannon's convenience. Other than that it's probably my favourite.
Any stage that allows me to ally myself with a pop star and Fire a Bass Cannon takes my pick, every time

What if there was a stage where Inner Agent 3 tries to kill everyone
That will become a disaster

And whoever defeats them gets a free special charge up inkjet, bubble blower, autobomb launcher, tenta missles, and splashdown.

Well actually, an 8v1 vs. agent 3 would not be terrible.

You can literally burst 3 hyperbombs at once with the canon, as well as the chance of splatting people
Me too. You could be winning, things are looking good, but the enemy team somehow gets ahold of the cannon and fires. Instant lose because of all the damage it did
Thats the whole point of the stage guys... Basically whoever gets the cannon is an almost garenteed win.
And that's why I would rank it lower. I like the idea of it being something to quickly turn tides,
But I resent the fact that it pushes it so far that recovery is near impossible. That's not balanced gameplay
Plus hyperbombs is another gimmick there, which is arguably more fair than the princess cannon
@@meggy1162 very much agreed
Great list, my favorite is flooders in the attic
I wish Splatoon 3 had stages like this for splatfests. The Zelda splatfest had a custom stage 😢
5:34 they help *a bunch*
I see what you did there
It's 5:33
Zappy longship was my favourite because I peaked at that time. I missed it but I’m glad it’s back
My favorite stage was the bunker games.
Furler in the Ashes will always be Mahi Mahi Resort's spiritual successor
Fun fact: Bridge To Tentaswitchia is based off a book, Bridge to Terabithia.
(BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD)
The bridge mechanic could be based off the ending of the book, where the protagonist offers to build a bridge as they have to cross a river every day, but the protagonist’s best friend says no, as she likes to use a very weak rope swing.
The lack of a bridge caused her death as the rope snapped and she drowned, just how your downfall could be the bridge disappearing before you can cross or ink it.

Dang I didn't even know there were 24 shifty stations lmao
Mc. Prinsess diaries is My fave bc T-POSING PEARL
best girl doesnt t-pose.....
Bro watching her come down was amazing
i love the 2nd place stage, cuz it gives me mahi mahi resort vibes of the first game
Tbh my favorites fancy spew. I like how the ink keeps moving,it honestly helps me get alot of specials.
How am I only realising now that these are all named after books? I’m so slow.
Oh wow true
I realized that after "The Bunker Games"
Bridge to terabithia
Mc princess diary is the BEST map ever made. It almost feels more hype then when you get a pet for christmas.
Last time i was this early
I was early
*clap clap clap*
any stage that has pearl or m.c. princess in it's name is my fave. also there is a sting ray trick in grapplink girl :)
same
baby pearlie is 18181818828336473828920000999999999999999/10 best girl
woomyuw0 _ ikr :)
when the water level drops in furler in the ashes always reminds me of mahi-mahi resort
Railway chillin’ was my least favorite stage. I just feel like the match depended way too much on who took over mid, and it was hard to take back. Idk maybe it was just me
I honestly wish they used more of these gimmicks in standard stages.
Because I was so late to the party (2019), I only got to play seven splatfests, including the rematches. That being said, out of all the ones I've played, my favorite shifty stations are:
The Bridge to Tentaswitchia
Furler In The Ashes (Beautiful and HUGE!)
Railway Chillin'
The Bunker Games (love that concept!)
Cannon Fire Pearl.

i actually once had 2 of my team mates just camp the 2 gushers on the enemy side so they couldn't get past and me and my other teammate just covered absolutely everything. they got by like twice or something but they died. that was my most memorable match in this game. haven't played it since and not gonna
I love Tentaswitchia so much! Aw man, bring back Shifty Station!
We need a canned special shifty station
The only ones I’ve played on before were Wayslide Cool, The Bunker Games and Railway Chillin’.
Dude do you imagine how many more minigames are gonna be able to be made with this
For example, there could be a minigame with the Octolings VS Inklings Shifty Station where the objective is to pop all the tentacles rather than win the match
This is gonna be so dope

My ranking (Worst to best), based on layout and/or gimmicks, coming from someone who has played a match on every Shifty Station at least once:
24. Zone of Glass
23. Fancy Spew
22. Wayslide Cool
21. The Secret of S.P.L.A.T.
20. Gusher Towns

4. The Ink Is Spreading
3. MC.Princess Dairies
2. Bridge to Tentaswitchia
1. The Bunker Games
1st custom stage:
Imagine a stage with super pads (the ones in single player that super jump you) all around the stage to get around
2nd custom stage:
The first one but with switches to control which team gets to use the super pads (if you use a super pad with the other color you get a splat message saying: Sunk into the other teams super pad!)
3rd custom stage: octo expansion equipper with weapons in mid (Inkjet, Burst bomb rush, Rainmaker model (no pedestal on the other side just the weapon)) And spin switches to put up a wall around mid (to make it less chaotic)
(While in the equipper, you have the armor of a booyah bomb (if you die in it, it will cause damage to you until you hit zl (squid form and then super jump you out of mid (YOU CAN USE THE EQUIPPER AGAIN AFTER 20 SECONDS))))
I actually never played on MC Princess Diaries because I was scheduled for work and could not get back home in time to play the last day of the Splat Fest. I was just happy I got to get all my matches on day 2 when the actual best music in the game played by the Squid Sisters.
The “bunker games” is my fav fallowed by “MC Princess Diaries”
I didn't play too many splatfests, but a lot of the time I found myself playing the same Shifty Stations in the Final Fest due to me only playing when some were available. These include Secret of the S.P.L.A.T, Furlers in the Ashes and The Chronicles of Rolonium. Because I played those stages so many times, they feel so boring in my opinion. That's why many of the other Shifty Stations with cool mechanics are so much better in my opinion since I haven't played them as much/at all. (Obviously, I'm a little biased, but hey, that's my opinion.)
For my number 1 favourite, I would say Grapplink Girl. I never played it during the Splatfest it was available but I have in Private Battles. It's my favourite because using the Sting Ray allows me to essentially teleport around the map >:)
We can all agree...
THAT MC. PRINCESS DIARIES IS BEST SHIFTY STATION
Am I the only one who likes secret of splats
Btw my top five:
5. The Splat in our Zone(would probably change when I play all splatfest stages)
4. MC.Princess Diaries
3. The Secret of Splat
2. The Bunker Games
1. Fulers in the Ashes
IMO
I think that cause the final fest takes place AFTER octo expansion, they added in the NILS statue and the city in the distance like you saw in octo expansions ending, which shows how much detail they put into it
The splatoween shifty stations was the best. Very good. The ink colors and the decor, masterpiece.
It would be nice if they added more octo expansion stages
You can launch the cannon into the enemy spawn to blow up all the hyperhombs
A splatoon video in 2019.. IN TRINITY's CHANEL WOOAH IS THIS A DREAM
I really hate flooder in the Attic because its basically like turf war but a lazy way to use flooders. I really like the Ink is spreading because the spreaders do give you time if inked to get in and get some sweet kills. Also the spew in the middle DOES NOT last until the end of the match. It stops around 14 seconds and you have time to infiltrate into the base
i find it very amazing how they’re all named after novels
too bad ive only heard of like three of them
This just makes me feel how much i missed by getting this game after chaos v order :(
MC Princess Diaries is my favorite hands down
SPOILER ALERT. By now most of you have beat Octo Expansion or have played it. But in case you have been living under a rock, there are spoilers for the last stage. But trust me. MC Princess Diaries is AWESOME.
24: Zappy Longshocking

5: Cannon Fire Pearl
4: The Bunker Games
3: The Maze Dasher
2: Gusher Towns
1: Bouncey Twins
It's quickly occurring to me that I'm alone on MC
I actually really liked The Maze Dasher because of all the dash pads. I agree with M.C. Princess Diaries to be first, though, because I really miss the Killer Wail from the original. I don't really like the Sting Ray that much, and adding Killer Wail back in was the best.
I figured that M.C Princess Daries would be number one on your list cause its a stage of anything from the Octo expansion story mode . And do like the layout and everything so its well respected
I would have liked that one Shifty Station had the mechanics of Squee G and Industrial Squee G, i think that would be great ✨
Tbh pearl in the final shifty station he gets behind you it reminds me of stands in jojo bizarre adventures
I havent played nearly 10 splatfests (i think) but i can agree, that M.C. Princess Diaries is the single best experience in this game. Nintendo always works hard for special events in their games, and their work here is a great gift for the Splatoon Comunity. (Also i hate Furler In The Ashes)
1. MC Princess Diaries
2. Furler in the Ashes
3. Wayslide Cool (my first won Splatfest all the way in 2020, kinda had to put it here)
5. The Bunker Games
6. Sweet Valley Tentacles
7. The Bouncy Twins
8. Zappy Longshocking
9. Railway Chillin'
10. The Ink is Spreading
11. The Splat in Our Zones

20. Goosponge
21. Gusher Towns
22. A Swiftly Tilting Balance
23. Grapplink Girl
24. The Switches
25. Bridge to Tentaswitchia
I have no idea how I ended up with 25 instead of 24.
Who remembered that splatoon 1 stage where there is a water drop at the last minute that reveals more floor?
Imagine unironically putting The Bunker Games in the top 5 instead of last place where it deserves to be.
God I so badly wanna know what the song at the beginning is
I always loved the bunker games, me and my friend would coordinate so that the enemy team wouldn’t get the closed off areas
Bunker Games was my first shifty station and i really liked it, so i was glad to see it so high up there.
I wonder if the star vs mushroom splatfedt will get a shifty station
14:00 cannon fire pearl and fuller in the ashes switched
BRO WE GOT ARE KILLER WHALE BACK IN THE LAST STAGE ING SPLATOON 2 BABYYYYYY
Now to wait for inkstrike and inkzooka to comeback.
If anyone wants to know the song in the vid, it's Trainwreck of electro swing in the 1st part of the vid
I Wish These Were Normal Turf War Maps
I also like _Cannon Fire Pearl._
The only other stage i have yet to experience in full is _The Bunker Games._ The rest of the stages, I really don't care about, including _MC Princess Diaries._
L-Y3T sadly missed the spring fest cuz I was on a cruise :/
@@infj1w932 I was about to ask why you didn't bring your switch with you, but I wholeheartedly understand if you didn't
tbh MC. princes diaries is an awesome stage and if I had a private group than I would definitely play on this stage plus you can tell that they used the same wireframe for killer whale as they did in Splatoon 1 as the wireframe in Splatoon 1 was very obvious
omg 100% mc princess diaries is number 1 the princess cannon gimmick is amazing and it really makes it amazing with the addition of hyper bombs, it really captures the whole asthetic of the final battle in the octo expansion and the background, music, hyper bombs, the princess cannon everything makes it a stage desefving of number 1
Mc.Princess Diaries is an awesome stage for anyone who enjoyed the Octo expansion final boss
This brings back memories of playing while watching ur streams. I can recount the stages when I played with u
*_Bold of you to assume I experienced all 24 Shifty Stations when they first debuted_*
Ngl the only problem I have with MC Princess Diaries is that the stage is a bit too flat, but that's probably for the Princess Cannon's convenience. Other than that it's probably my favourite.
I mean there is a bit of a pit area but I get what you mean. Wish we could’ve used the Princess cannon more too.
I sadly didn’t get to play M.C Princess Diaries:( I got my switch light on Christmas! I wish I got it earlier!
