For the record, the event with Commander Tartar at the end of Octo Expansion does NOT classify as a boss fight. It says in the game "Turf War" during this event, and you do not attack him directly, nor does he directly attack you, nor does he have a health bar, nor is it listed as a boss, etc. For these reasons, he does not show up on this list.
OK, however, if you did rate him, where would you put him? For me he was 2nd-3rd hardest, just curious as to your perspective.
He was pretty easy to me, so I'd probably rank him maybe in the #7 or #6 spot, before or after Agent 3's ranking.
What about the 1st game's bosses? (If you replaced the splatoon 2 bosses with the first game's bosses)
Well, I can’t tell you how many times I died to Tar tar, and if a golden toothpick is what I get for 100% the game, nope, not gonna even try the inner agent 3

I believe the Inner Agent 3 is by far the hardest and most chaotic boss fight in the history of Splatoon, it feels like your playing online against very skilled Japanese players who has spent years and years training.
Nah, more like a team of them all trying to kill you.

I actually beat him when I said to my mom “just a sec lemme fail first” then I won. I gotta use that strategy more, maybe I’ll be able to beat chaos elfilis that way.
Also , the Autobombs have the blast radius of a nuke when you have no armour.

Whenever I think I got a lock on this guy, he dodged halfway across the stage and then starts throwing MORE autobombs. This was hell.

Antasma X, Culex, cackletta soul, pretty much any of the insanely hard mario rpg bosses could compare to inner agent 3, the REALLY difficult ones like the three I just mentioned could probably surpass inner agent 3 in my opinion

Quick tip for Inner Agent 3: learn how to shoot down splashdowns. This helps in the final phase where they use a panic splashdown when they are at low health.
canel his splashdown before he turn ivincable
Alternatively you can kill them quickly before they use it but it’s hard.

Running away from auto bombs in phase 3 of inner agent 3 when your armor is broken is terrifying as hell and is almost impossible to do successfully

I find it odd that, when talking about octostomp, no one ever talks about how octostomp literally can’t hurt you if you do down to the little ditch at the edge of the arena, trivialising the original fight, and making the redux fight much easier
Also for the revenge of the octo samurai no one seems to talk about how it takes a while for it to recover after a roller slam blitz, a spin attack, or a motorbike attack, allowing you to safely explode once or twice around it, you don’t have to keep attacking while it’s attacking you
Also literally everyone after hour of grinding agent 3 and finding their reward

As someone who is trash with a charger, he took me like 20 minutes on the first try 😔 it would’ve taken me longer if I didn’t watch a bunch of gameplays in advance

The Octostomp redux is actually a lot easier if you retreat repeatedly to the outer edge of the arena, where he can't get you. Sometimes he will try to stomp you, and land halfway off the upper part, but still unable to reach you, and you can deal damage to him while being in a safe area.
Sawyer Harju if you don’t use it will be more heck of a fight and more fun to add in the challenge.
Camping down those ramps are just cheap and just makes bosses a joke.
For me, octostomp redux shall be on one of the most challengining bosses in the expansion if you don’t do the cheap way to beat it
Master Kohga I know, I’m just saying that if you’re struggling you can go down to the edge to take a break. Not using that increases the difficulty by a lot, but it’s not like the edge was not intended to be used, as pearl and marina recommend it if I recall correctly. I think that if you’re looking for a greater challenge. You can try and not use it.

octo samurai was super easy tbh, i found the octo oven harder lol
edit: just saying the first octo stomper is super easy if you take into account that you can go off the side to regain armour, just ink a line up the side and you can get a few shots in on the buckle then jump off the side

Hmm. Here's my list:
11. Octo Oven - easy to dodge and easy to hit.
10. Octo Stomp - if you stand at the platform below the arena, you can easily bust his straps without taking damage.
9. Octo Samurai - ... I'm bad at rollers.
8. Octo Shower - actually mildly difficult. Took me a few tries.
7. Octo Samurai (Octo Expansion) - honestly pretty easy. His attacks are slow and predictable. I don't know why you had such a hard time with him...
6. Dj. Octavio ft. Callie - I got splatted more times then id like to admit...
5. Octo Oven (Octo Expansion) much more difficult with the added octarians, plus those fucking sprinklers.
4. Agent 3 - Really hard. It's like fighting a good player who also hacks.
3. Octo Stomp (Octo Expansion) - more seals, bubbles, and... I hate the bubbles.
2. Octo Shower (Octo Expansion) - I cannot tell you how many times I was on the last phase with only one octo copter left, and then got splatted. I lost thousands of CQ points.
1. Inner Agent 3 - hell
OPINION ALERT: In my opinion, Dj Octavio ft. Callie is harder than Octo Stomp Redux because, the lower platform is still there
Octo oven is so easy no matter which one you fight, literally just ignore the octarians and destroy the sprinklers.
I would put revenge of octo samurai in number 3 and dj octavio ft. Callie in number 2

I remember when my dad said "You're still suck on you're inner demon, or whatever it's called" then he start to laugh a little, I hand him the switch and dare him to beat inner agent 3. After a few hours it was the first time he rage quit on a game. I never seem him got that pissed at a game before. I remember he said "damn that secret agent inking. Damn her" XD

Honestly I like the reward. It's a nice piece of gear. The main ability of it, however, is a gaint middle finger. Special Charge Up. FFFFUUUUU- (Not that its a bad ability, but just because the context of how you got through special spam hell)

+Erick Yeah, but the reward for all Korok seeds was made to purposely be completely useless, as a joke for people who go after meaningless items for no specific reason in video games. This?! They thought this was an actual reward.

Octostomp is pretty easy due to being able to go off the arena, let him stop you, and climb up. Even with a coat, you can still break it off when not on the arena.
For both versions of Octostomp theres a little ring around the arena you can hide down in that its not able to stamp you from there

Word of advice:DO NOT fight the octo shower in handheld mode!
Out of all of the Octo Canyon bosses, I had the most trouble fighting the octo shower. I died the most to Octo Shower out of all of the Octo Canyon Bosses.

Inner Agent 3 is so hard, they forced Bramble to make a new ranking.
Revenge of the octo samurai is probably one of the easiest fights in the game though. The baller makes you almost invincible, and you can easily jump over his attacks. You can also easily stun lock him.

Interesting, when playing the game I found Octostomp to be the easiest and Octo Shower to be the hardest out the original Splatoon 2 campaign

Here’s my advice for Octostomp.
So, the area around reg octostomp is a platform lower where the octostomp can’t hit you. When your in trouble, hide there. Also, if it’s close enough, you can deal damage to its’s coat without it seeing.

There's a cheese trick with the original Octostomp in the second and third phases. Drop down to the lower area of the arena. Next, climb up to lure Octostomp over. Since the area is so small, he can't actually hurt you but you can chip away at his buckle. Then, once his coat is off, just play it normally.
Let this sink in.

I think the octostomp should get ranked way lower since you can literally head out to the sides and he can't attack you whatsoever. You get lots of time to plan your next move and make him come towards you to make that fight easier than it should be.. unlike the octoshower. Which I, as a roller main, find rather difficult with my lack of aim.

I had so much trouble with DJ Octavio in the first game. It was SO hard that I demanded my best friend (Justin) to do the dirty work. And guess what! He beat him without breaking a sweat! I felt like an idiot afterwards.
Agreed with you, DJ octovio for splatoon 1 was a pain. It took me about 50 tries to beat him. I upgraded my hero shot to maximum when I was having trouble with him, and that made it a lot easier

Well he was hard without the hero weapon being upgraded. Of course I find him easy now, but he used to be super hard because I had no idea how to avoid his attacks and everything

For me it was like the easiest when i did with the brush, just go to the rails while it is there and kill the Octocopters. It's easy.

I will say, Octostomp redux definitely becomes easier when you know how to cheese it by hanging out near the edge of the stage. If you swim around the edge then you can sneak up on it to hit its buckles, and jump off the small ledge to avoid the face-slams

I realized that you didn’t use curling bombs on the octo oven XXL, if you use them. It really helps to get away from the snipers in phase 3. The big issue is if you leave the sprinklers from phase 2 into phase 3
