Here’s one question: Have you ever Wondered...say an inkling or octoling is being arrested for doing something bad, and they have handcuffs on. If they turned into their squid or Octo form, would they just be able to slip out of the handcuffs?

their grandpa is named Cap'n Cuttlefish and cuttefishes are diferent from squids(aka what Inklings are based on)and that+being more developed as children is why I have found it highly posible that they are at the very likely they at the very least are not normal inklings~

I just assume Callie and Marie (and I guess Pearl) are just a different type of inkling which is why they appear human at a younger age and why only the tips of their hair change colors and the rest remains black and white, as well as the different eyes from others.
mkoch99 good theory but when he says in the video how Marie uses a charger without using a inktank I didn’t understand why not just fill the charger with ink before going and boom you can shoot it that’s all I think but really yes I think they are a different type of inkling
@@tynou702 Well their bodies could store more ink then other inklings so maybe its just enough for one charge (kinda goes with why there is no tubing from tank to weapon, their bodies kinda act as the tubbing)

I have a theory:
Maybe the Squid Sisters really ARE inklings, but 1. They never turn into squids onscreen simply because no scene would require it of them, and I think marie is actually turning into a squid in the square, not just some item or such. And 2. I think they are resistant to ink because Cap'n Cuttlefish's bloodline(inkline?) was used to war and is now tougher and more resistant to enemy ink (case in point: in spltn 1, you could ink cuttlefish, in 2, callie both survives a direct charger headshot from marie, and can be inked harmlessly by a fully upgraded hero weapon. A little off topic, and also OCTO EXPANSION SPOILERS!!!!!
After you beat agent 3, you can freely ink them. I honestly cannot tell if agent 3 is a distant relative of cuttlefish or is also tougher from defeating the octarians (to be fair, Splatoon 1 story mode in my opinion was a little harder, especially octavio.) or all singleplayer npcs are just resistant so you can't splat them and I'm reading too much into this (i probably am)

I reckon you just can't splat people unless you're in designated battle areas. Maybe turf wars are really elaborate paintball/lazer tag games and per the rules of the game you must return to spawn after taking enough damage. I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to think about it this hard.,, The ink resistance from military experience is a cool idea though

Marie can fire her weapon because her body is currently functioning as her tank. Woomy and Veemo bodies are hyper pressurized sacs filled with slightly acidic "Ink" that is also used by the tanks. This also answers whether they feel pain, and I have a very strong suspicion it's a no because of the body structure and how they probably have a decentralized nervous system allowing their liquid function

For the human structures:
Inkopolis is a abandoned city that the inklings fixed, so they also saw abandoned clothing and so adapted to create clothing based off from the human style. They also used the maps from parts of the city.

The Squid Sisters are confirmed inklings. They are related to Cap'n Cuttlefish, who is confimed to be an inkling. Also Agent 3 doesn't take damage from the ink after his/her fight.

About the hairstyle question, I think, that these are not either hair or tentacles, but tentacle-shaped ink, and for haircuts, they just change the possishioning of ink and don't cut of anything

Answering Yume's question (by the way love your vids)the reason inklings recreated human architecture is because they lived very similar evolutionary lives the way humans built up thier living foundations and evolutionary lines they always make changes to thier lives is similar to the way humans did as well.

They are kept secret. It is probably harder to keep 8 a secret since the statue they stopped is visible in some stages, but I think they are still a secret.
I always thought the Squid Sisters were cuttlefish variants of inklings. That would explain why their ears/squid masks are different!

I think they do have the concept of superheroes like punching the floor in an explosion (Splashdown) or fly (Inkjet) or absolutely no way of breaking through defense (Ink Armor, Baller) or throw something that does devastating damage (Ultra Stamp, like Thor in Infinity War)

To answer the first one: A popular theory going around is that they are cuttlefish *cough* their surnames. They are quite similar to the little squiddies and octopi, which is why everyone thinks they are inklings. Personally I thought this was bullshit due to the fact that the first game would throw around sea puns with no shame, (Callie and Marie's names are a pun on Calamari for crying out loud!) but now that you mention it...
(Also unrelated but I think the "I wish humans were real" was a joke based on the "I wish squids were real," unless it's the other way around and I'm just dumb)

With the question about the hair, it was kinda answered in the splatoon manga when in one of the books goggles shaved of gloves tentacle hair, and there was no blood and gloves didn’t feel any pain

my personal guess as to why callie jumped super far is because, one, she made a leap instead of a vertical jump, two, she probably got a running start. have you seen the size of the stage on the octobot? also maybe its because Callie is an adult (?)

1:09 I can answer this question, this is the only weapon in Splatoon that can still be used without any ink. I play tested myself, my ink tank was completely empty and I killed a Squidbag. Btw the weapon is the solar charger. Also the heavy splatting. So the charges weapons don’t need ink to operate

Callie and Marie are Inklings. There're just different subspecies (or something similar) because they evolved from a different kind of squid:
Callie is a bigfin reef squid (--> Aori-ika aka. her japanese name)
Marie is a firefly squid (--> Hotaru-ika aka. her japanese name)
PS: Also they have squid forms. Callie's is entirely pink and Marie's is entirely green

What if Callie and Marie are octolings combined with inklings? Like their parents were octolings and inklings, back when octarians weren’t welcome in inkopolis maybe it was forbidden love (for both of there pairs of parents) and they pretended that there children (Callie and Marie) were inklings to protect them for hate (aka racism with species) So they are basically a new species, which could possibly take over inkopolis if Callie and Marie were to create a family. Once the blood line expands enough that species could possibly take over all of inkopolis and kill off all other species?
