I have made 3 t shirt quilts and now working on 3 more Harley t-shirt... with all the quilts I do, I have made for Graduations and also for all my 1st cousin's. They never know what they get and most are surprised when they get them. You did a great job
My brother passed away in 2017 and last year I was finally able to convince my mom to let go if his bags of clothes. But because I had just started sewing (2 years ago now) she asked if i could make a quilt or something for her. So I've had two garbage bags of clothes in my garage as I'm so afraid to cut into them and not be able to make something good. This video gave me so much hope and faith that I can finally get to this project this winrer. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤
I made my one & only t-shirt quilt for my son. I had no idea what I was doing. I made a few (several) mistakes.😊 It had to be King size for my son. He's 6 feet tall. Oh my goodness, what a chore. It was heavy & bulky & difficult to handle. I was frustrated making it. My son was so happy with his quilt. And now, years later, after watching your tutorial, I'm willing to make another one. I bet this time it will be much easier now with your instructions. Thank you April.
I love the NASCAR quilt it came out so cool looking I've made one t-shirt quilt about 3 years ago and it was my first one and I thought they were super easy everyone told me how hard they were to make but I thought they were easier than a regular quilt to make but I didn't have Oliver to help me with mine. Eat some chocolate and have a great day.
I love how it turned out. It’s always a little scary starting out with a t-shirt quilt because there are so many variables but they eventually start taking on their destiny. You did a great job.
Great job on your tshirt quilt! I am so glad I am not the only one that has a lot of quilt tops not finished! My goal is to get some finished this year as well! But so many pretty quilts to make......love doing the tops....
I love making the t-shirt quilts.... they are so much fun, large blocks that make fast quilts.....I have made more than 10 of them and have a pile ready to do. I like to try to keep the blocks at 12ish inches so then I can cut them and put the interfacing on them and store them in scrapbook boxes (I am working on the grandson's quilt so he is still wearing the shirts I am using, so as he out grows them I cut them up!!!)
Oooooo, what a lucky girl to have a friend from Idaho Falls, who sends anything with Marionberries. Love me some Marionberries. Thanks for this tutorial. Take care and blessings to y'all.
My sister n law ( rip) saved all her son's t,T-shirts and now her daughter found the t-shirts and has asked me to make a quilt. I got some fantastic ideas from your video...thank you April and Di
Oh my goodness you made the coolest T-shirt quilt Miss April. He is gonna LOVE it. I have always shied away from T-shirt quilts but after watching Miss Di’s video I think I’m ready to try it. Thanks for taking us on this journey…it turned out fantastic!! Have a terrific weekend. Woke up this morning and it was -14 degrees outside. 🫣😩🫣😩 definitely a day to be sewing. Lol 🤗🤗🤗
I made one from the music festival t shirts, we attended the last nine years. I gifted it to my husband on Christmas He loved it and our friends were envious! Lol, I too, understand why they cost so much to have someone else to make!
April, what an awesome job!!! Now make another one for you, loved watching your techniques, and thanks Di! So so gorgeous, best video yet! More to come please
Currently working on two t-shirts quilts now. I made two for Xmas gifts. With each one I figure out something different to do to make it easier. Have a good day and keep smiling.
I have to do a t-shirt quilt for a nephew, so this was timely and I enjoyed your information. I counted quilts in project in my living room alone there were 56 in various stages. I still have to get into my fabric room and make a list, LOL.
Love it. Made one for my brother with his motorcycle tee shorts. Between shirts 2-1/2" white flannel straps. Instructor in class had us cut 10-1/2" blocks..using back and rotating back 1/4 turn instead of stabilizer. Great fun and he koves it.
Wow, April!!! You came in 1st place on this one (of course you did)! Awesome job!!! I'm making one for a friend with all her Harley Davidson t-shirts and hope I can really rev up some excitement like yours does. I also watched Du's video a few days ago, and she knocked it out if the park for me too with great tips! I'm heading to my friend's home in Phoenix next month to do it together even though doesn't sew. She's a bone marrow transplant survivor and she's cancer free, so this quilt will not only keep her snuggly warm at night, it's a celebration of a time she was full of her love of riding, speed, and the thrills of living. I hope I do justice for this tribute as you did. You've really inspired me on this one. Ig, before I forget, I LOVE that large clock joined in with the smaller signed graphic, too. Very nice vision! Thanks as always! Amazing and fun!!! ❤❤❤
Had to watch this even though I absolutely hated making 2 of these for my brother (he gave me 65 t-shirts!). I'm glad to know I did it the same way you did (except I used the tiny pocket designs as cornerstones in the sashing). I also used b/w checkered fabric for sashing on one of them. It's not fun having to put fusible on everything. The whole process was such a pain that I didn't make anything else at all for almost a year. Never again!
I make t-shirt quilts for graduates. I have to do lots of creative piecing bc the shirts are from infancy through the teen years. Thanks for the great video. Please show how you finish quilts when you have time.
When I make a t-shirt quilt I use a heat press, a great time saver. I also use parchment paper as my protective layer between the heat press and the t-shirt.
Hello April, great job! I’ve never made a Tshirt quilt before but what I was thinking when I saw that large printed shirt was, “that could be made into a panel for the center since that’s the theme “ then use other shirts as accent blocks either all the same size or different sizes similar to a Sampler quilt. I’ve been collecting concert T-shirts and I would like to finally make myself a quilt to use at the “concert in the park “ events that go on in the summer;)
What a keepsake , I love it as it is. I’m going to do a travel keepsake. Yours is perfect. Thank you, having been thinking about this. You gave me a push to get started.
I love it!❤ You've inspired me😊 I have a cordless Panasonic that I bought last summer, it doesn't seem heavy enough or get hot enough for quilting, it's ok for laundered garments. I'm back to using my Oliso for quilting needs.
Wow that came out great. I learned how to quilt so I can turn my old band shirts into a quilt…but here I am like 3 yrs later and I still haven’t touched that stack of shirts lol. Maybe this will be the year it gets done since it actually looks to be easier than i thought it would be.
I think your tee shirt quilt turned out great! When you get it quilted and bound you need to show it off to us! Interested as to what you will choose for the backing. 😊
I make a point of picking up souvenir tshirts from various places to make into a quilt. I have more than enough but other quilts take priority. Maybe this year.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video! This was fun to watch! I know your brother-in-law will love this! You sure looked pretty with your green vest on and your hair down in the beginning of the video!
A few years ago I had a lady whose 18 year old son had just pasted a way ask me to make a t-shirt quilt from his t-shirts and this was my first one. I really enjoyed it. I had a few scary moments. She had one t-shirt that had special meaning to her and of course I cut it wrong and was unable to use it . She was really pleased with how how it turned out. He was expecting his first child so I took the back of the shirts and made a baby quilt for her.
From Who Dat to the Pels...April are you a NOLA girl? I live on the Westbank and love seeing you support the New Orleans teams. Love the tips you shared today. I have made 1 t-shirt quilt and each shirt is sashed like a tradional quilt block. Once it was done, the instructor I was working with apologized for making me do so much extra work and not assemble it as you did. Oh well I enjoyed the experience and my daughter loves her quilt! Have a great day!
Yay Robbie hope it gets quilted lol still waiting on my cross wall hanging to get finished 😂 don't u know Roy said I want you to make me a t-shirt quilt 😊 Great job sister inlaw ❤ Now everybody wants one 😂
Thanks for this. My father-in-law passed away right before Thanksgiving and his daughter gave me a bunch of his Marine Corp League t-shirts. I've been hesitant about cutting them up, but you made it look doable. Maybe I can even tackle the green garbage bag full of t-shirts my daughter gave me when she moved out.
I made a t-shirt quilt for my grandson and the hard part was that , being young, his shirts spanned different sizes. But I got it done. You did a great job.
I have made 3 t shirt quilts and now working on 3 more Harley t-shirt... with all the quilts I do, I have made for Graduations and also for all my 1st cousin's. They never know what they get and most are surprised when they get them.
You did a great job
8:58 -- I found so much value in how you combined the front left chest design and the larger full back image. 🤩🤯🥳
When I made a t-shirt quilt, I ironed the stabilizer on the t-shirt before I cut out the design.

My husband is a huge NASCAR fan. He would love this quilt
The quilt is priceless…and so are you! Blessings for you in 2024! 🥰
Great job April! Your quilt turned out wonderful, I love the black and white checker theme you have on it!
Thank you Di
I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching my channel ❤️

Good job. I think every quilter has a T-shirt quilt on their bucket list. Few make them. Definitely looks easy enough to do with stabilizer.
It’s nice that Di helped you out. Her T shirt tutorial is something I plan on using. Your Brother-in-law is going to love it. Great job

Marionberries are a type of blackberry grown in the pacific northwest (mostly Oregon).
Your brother in law is going to LOVE that.
Thank you
Great job April! It’s such a blessing to have a friend who’s experienced the same and can give us tips to help along the process! Love Di💕💕🧵

I've never made a t-shirt quilt, I've watched people make them but that's it. You did an awesome job, looks great!
April that looks absolutely fantastic. Well done. I'd love to get a quilt like that so your brother in law should be really happy I'm sure.
Thank you so much!
Hi April, I like this way of making a t-shirt quilt. I have lots of old t-shirts I can use. Thank you April and Di for the useful tips.

Great job! I’ve made several t shirt quilts. Each one a challenge, but what a great sense of accomplishment when they are done!
Yes! Thank you!
I love your basic square tshirt quilt. Thanks for sharing your how-tos from your friend.

Where can I get the layout wall for my quilt squares? I have had to lay mine on the floor which kills my back.
