My grandson was recently killed when he was hit by a car. He was two his parents have asked me to make tshirt quilts for his siblings and them. I was having problems getting inspired I think you have have done it ! Thank you so much !
I made a t- shirt quilt for a friend's son. He is a high school graduate. I used the Attic Window pattern. I think a little like you. I want the quilts that I make a little different. So I thought well a window you look out and see the past accomplishments that he has done in high school. I will try to send you a picture on your blog if possible. Thanks for your tutorials. You give me inspiration.
I have 2 themes. My son was a United States Marine for eight years and is currently in college in the Northeast. He has been collecting tee-shirts from his favorite times and places in San Diego and said since quilting is my passion, when he comes home this summer, he wants me to teach him how it's done. We also have the USMC theme to work on. I am so looking forward to this!
That is so cool that your son is interested in your hobby! I’d recommend he take a peek at some videos posted by The Quilting Marine. He’s a great guy who uses quilting as PTSD therapy... and he has made some guy-friendly quilts. Right now he’s fearlessly working on a New York Beauties quilt. Not overly precise, but *very* colourful & cheerful. I admire him for taking on a non-traditional (for men) hobby. ~Diana K.
Love your quilt. I'm new to quilting. I'm trying to preserve my mother's tshirts. I lost her 2 years ago. My theme: The Queen Lucy!! Thanks Janie Lawson
I've collected many tshirts my son has worn, for his 30th birthday I've planned to make a quilt. Love your pattern, perfect for my project, thank you!😉
I’ve got the “Soccer Star” grandchild graduating with enough shirts for 6 quilts - I love the way you focused the shirt colors to avoid the “scrap vomit” effect🌟
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Elisha Bishop i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This is just what I needed help with! I have been struggling with ideas in making a memory quilt for my future granddaughter-in-law. Her dad has passed away suddenly in September and asked me if I could take his t-shirts and make a quilt for her. Of course I could not say no, but I have never made one before...Yikes! But thanks to you and your creative tutorials, I am so excited! Thank you!! Stay Happy and Crafty. 😊🧵🪡
I have my grandson's baseball t-shirts and my daughter's band t-shirts that I've been wanting to make into t-shirt quilts, but I never liked the shirt on shirt on shirt design. THANK YOU for this idea, I love it! Now I have to finish the 3 that need quilted before I can get to these two. Love watching your videos Angela.
Will be using all my Diving T shirts..........so many memories of my travels to beautiful underwater destinations .........one day I hope to be able to travel again 🐙🐡🦑🐠🐋
I would do one with my best friend that passed away with his Harley Davidson tee's and give it to his wife. This is a beautiful layout and I love how it makes it more of a quilt💕 thank you for the inspiration..I'm a huge fan of you and your rulers😜
Making a “running memories” out of all of the race shirts we have - both me and my husband run so we have twice as many - I have enough for about 10 quilts - lol! Thanks Angela - I was really worried about making a mess of the memories but with this pattern I’m onto a winner for sure ☺️🏆
My oh my! YOU keep Drakes quilt! What a great idea! I think I’ll make one with the Shawnee Sharks swim team! But wait, my granddaughter’s aren’t old enough yet to have that many ... hmmm. Oh well I’ll wait! Thanks Angela! Your precious:)
The flying geese blocks are the best and your right about the tshirt quilt looks a lot classie. I love the look and will do one for my bro with shirts 20 years old 😂😂❤
I have so many t-shirts from my dad. He loved going to the casino and has the shirts to prove it. 😂 I would like to make a t-shirt quilt for my daughter, myself, and two nieces. This pattern would be perfect. It will make it look more like a quilt. Thank you for the idea.
A trade association I’ve been involved with for 30 years does a tee shirt for each annual conference. I’m going to use this design to put together a series of smaller quilts to be hung in the office or at trade shows. I never thought about using blocks to make a secondary pattern or the idea of neutrals to not distract from the tee shirts. This video final turned my light bulb on. Thank you Miss Angela.
I saved my son’s t-shirts planning to make him a quilt for 6th grade graduation. Didn’t happen. So I figured 8th grade graduation. Still didn’t happen. High school? Nope. College? Still no. Master’s degree? Not even. The next milestone is his wedding in November. This might work. My theme needs to be “done”!
I have two piles of my husband's t-shirts waiting to be made into quilts - T's from West Point years and 80s concert T's. These have been on my project list for 25 years. Angela's pattern is the first one that appeals!!
Barb Pudelski ; I love the idea ! I hope I can make the triangles so it doesn’t look like a t- shirt quilt. I am making it for my granddaughter. I want to make it more feminine. You are fabulous! Very different. How did you do that fancy quilting?
Absolutely love the tutorial I have never done at-shirt quilt. My son-in-law is a rescue/firefighter he gave me all his shirts to make a quilt. I am excited about it now that I have seen your tutorial. Thanks so much.
I have all my dad’s Harley shirts that I want to make into quilts for my mom and brother. It’ll be 10 years since he passed away this Fall and I think it’d be so sweet to be able to give them a memory quilt like that!
My theme for a quilt would be my son’s t-shirts from when he was a child all the way to teen years. I probably have enough t-shirts for 3 quilts 😀. I like your idea of adding the blocks. I’ve seen quite a bit of others and never could choose. Thanks for a new spin/idea. ❤️🙏🏽😷👍🏽
I have a TShirt quilt for my daughter I made 12 years ago and NEVER quilted...I'm going to take it apart and start over now that I've seen this very informative video I'll make it work..Love it Thanks Angela
Our family has been volunteering at music festivals and Habitat for Humanity for almost 3 decades so I have a lot of t-shirts to make quilts for our family members and probably a couple to donate for the raffles. Thanks for the great pattern that will make the t-shirt quilts a bit more upscale looking.
My son played baseball from the age of 5, well he mostly picked clover at that age, until he graduated at age 18. I have all his t-shirts and they are a variety of colors. I have been looking at t-shirt quilts for several years but never could find one that 100% loved, nor one that would coordinate all those colors, until this! I can hardly wait to get started! Thank you for so generously sharing your amazing talents!
My husband has a bazillion shirts from the various colleges he has worked at over the years, and I keep saying I’m going to make him a memory quilt. This kit would be PERFECT for him! 🎉
My grands are in a community steel drum band that performs in the local area. With one a sophomore this year I am sure I will still have time to complete this quilt before graduation. I think this is a perfect gift for a grad, not only does it remind them of their school years but also the person(me) who made it for them. Hoping to make 3 in the next 4 years! I love your quilts Angela.
My son-in-law has been wanting me to make him a t-shirt quilt out of his favourite tees, so of course it would be called “The Favourite”. I’ve been putting him off because I didn’t know how to do it, so now I’m ready to try it! Thanks!
I am making a graduation quilt for my nephew. He graduates this year too!! It will have lots of swimming and Boy Scouts t-shirts. It will also include a "Creek Fire" T-shirt. His home was amazingly saved my many hard working firemen. His community was the hardest hit in California's largest single fire in history. As if Covid wasn't enough. LOL! Thank you Angela for all your great videos. I have learned so much from you!!
Our grandson is starting baseball so I need to have his mom save those shirts for a future quilt. Quilts and grandchildren are a perfect match!!! I loved your T-shirt pattern and purple is my favorite color.
I have been with an Irish Club for years. We design a new shirt ever year. We haven't been able to have our parade because of covid. I want to make this to celebrate all the hard work our members put in to make our parades happen. What a great way to share old memories!
I have lots and lots of upcycled t-shirts from national parks that have worn out over the years. I'd love to combine them like this and put a national park panel pieced back with it. Thanks for all you do!
I have been saving my son’s snowboarding shirts for awhile. He is an avid snowboarder and has many great memories. Until now I really didn’t know how to get started with the quilt. This video has help me see beyond the old t-shirt quilts. The flying geese will fit in perfect for this quilt, it reminds me of nature with birds, stars, and mountain peaks. Thanks for the video!
My tee shirt quilt will be about Boy Scout camp. Each year my grandson has received camp tee shirts. No one enjoyed camp like my grandson and now he is a BS camp counselor. Love your Chanel.
I'd use t-shirts from each of my 9 grandchildren. Perfect to cuddle up under! BTW, I love the cutting sound when you cut the setting triangles. Gives me goose bumps!
I have several swim team and assorted other shirts from my second child. That will be my next t-shirt quilt. I have always done a very eclectic process with t-shirt quilts, but I really like yours with the setting blocks. Thanks for the inspiration. It wouldn't hurt my feelings to win your kit!
Years ago my daughter-in-law asked me to make her a quilt using her Virginia Tech t-shirts. I've been dragging my feet ever since but with this super pattern I'm all for it! Theme? Go Hokies!
This will be a great HighSchool graduation gift for my granddaughter. All important events in my kids and grands lives have been celebrated with a quilt. I have
Hi! I like the way you teach! My grandson asked me (grandma) to make him a tshirt quilt from all of his athletic tshirts. He has always been in soccer, bball, baseball, football...very active kid that I cherish. I would love to make him the quilt that shines for him, that makes him proud that his grandma made him. Thank you.
I am making one for my daughter. It is mostly high school and church. She left me with so many shirts all I had room for was a small boarder between the shirts. She loves yellow and sunflowers so I am doing the boarders in yellow and quilting sunflowers in it! A lot of work but it is looking great! Also my husband was so nice! He bought me a press. It saves so much time!
I would be making a quilt for my neighbor's autistic son; it would represent his guitar playing (Johnny Cash), places he has visited, his high school, his love of animals (dolphins) and how he enjoys working with his dad gardening (John Deere). I have put off making it, it would be my first one, but after seeing your design layout, it has moved up on my "quilts to make" list:) Now it won't look like every other t-shirt quilt pattern I have seen. Thanks Angela!
My grandson is 11 and in football right now. Who knows how many other sports/activities he could be in until he graduates from high school. Maybe there will be enough T-Shirts for me and him a quilt! Great idea for the pattern! You are amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad to get to watch your videos again...I moved to Florida last year and lost all my sewing stuff and am starting over and your an inspiration to me thank you
I would make two quilts, one for each child, but my teen first. I've been saving their tees from what I think were special times, since they started school. Congrats momma on your graduate and shed those tears!! You've earned it all.
Thank you for the tips. A quilt for for 89 year old widower Dad with shirts from his generations from his children to his great grandchildren would be be awesome!
Ha ha ha!!! I love that you are keeping the quilt for yourself!!! I have trouble keeping my creations for myself because I have so many people I love that “deserve” my handiwork. 😂 I have two cheerleaders (granddaughters) who get a new tee shirt with each competition they are in. I would definitely make them each one!!!
Now I can finally get excited about the T-shirt quilt for my daughter! After all those years watching her play soccer, now she is a high school soccer coach!
Was looking for an idea for a t-shirt quilt for a retiring teacher and came across your video. Not only was the video great but took me back… I was a Liberty Blue Jay!
I’ve worked for the YMCA for over 20 years. My CEO will be retiring in a few years. She’s worked her way up the ranks for over 20 years, too. I’ve saved a lot of event T-Shirts to make a retirement quilt for her. I may need to do a two-sided T-Shirt quilt with all that I have! Thank you for your design idea and making the instructions so easy to follow.
We have been band parents through two kids' time in middle and high school. Your main color was purple, ours is black and gold. I would love to make this with our t-shirts! Thank you for the tutorial!
Am making a quilt for our grandson's 13th birthday. A quilt with t-shirt memories from birth until 13 would be so awesome for him. What a memory. Love getting your emails with how-to's in them. This is such a great pattern!
I am going to make a memory t-shirt quilt from my brothers stash of country band and travel shirts. He used to be a bus driver for different bands/ country music singers. He died a few years ago and I saved all his collection of t-shirts. I think they would be great gifts for my other siblings.
OMG! A friend of mine gave me a small bag of t-shirts to make her a quilt. I have been too chicken to cut the shirts. But after watching this video I am feeling excited to get started on it!
Ok, this pattern blew me away. I’ve made all my t-shirt quilts the old fashioned way, but no longer will that happen. So excited to try this pattern with my daughters “The Ohio State” t-shirts. I may just have to make a backing just like the front since she has so many t-shirts. I’m so excited. Thanks for the awesome idea. Melanie
Making 3 for my grandsons. One is soccer kid and soccer is his life. The other 2 loves sports. Hope to get to your shop in near future. My brother and family live in Kearney, MO. Love your videos!! You are my inspiration for FMQ!!
Love the setting on the Tee shirt quilt. My daughter is 28 years old and keeps asking me when I'm going to make her tee shirt quilt! She played soccer in elementary school and field hockey in high school. So, that's my theme. I'm motivated!!
Both my kids are musical so I would definitely make a music or band quilt. Sports held no interest for them but as soon as you place a musical instrument in their hands, they are in heaven!
My daughter barrel races. She has been adding her association T-shirts to a tote as she out grows them. I love how you transformed a t-shirt quilt into something more appealing!! I need to see if we have enough to get started.
My quilt would be of all my sister's favorite t shirts from her days teaching. She loved getting shirts from the schools she taught at and a quilt made from them would be a fabulous way to honor her memory. She passed away in May 2019 at the age of 41. 💜
"Life"- When I lost my job because of COVID, I stayed sane by immediately sewing face masks (out of old clothes and pillow cases) for family, neighbors, the local hospitals and church soup kitchens. Then I used the left-over fabric scraps to make my 1st mini quilt wall hanging as a memento of this crazy time. But I have lots of interesting tee shirts just sitting in a closet. From charity runs (Alzheimer's' research, Childhood cancer. . .) college, travel, nerdy science tees. . . Angela, you've inspired me to finally use my tee shirt collection to make a quilt of wonderful memories. I can just picture it. It's going to be great. Thanks for the inspiration!
My t-shirt theme will be about track for my daughter. She has given me shirts asking for a t-shirt quilt. I always say, “Some day. “. Your video may help to make that some day come sooner than she thinks!!!🤞🤞
Hi! My theme will be drumline and marching... my son was on drumline all 4 years. He played bass drum... even hit highest percussion award his junior year. Love love love your listen!!!! So colors are red, black white... so your fabrics would look amazing!!!! Senior year ended during covid... felt so bad for him. He missed out on a lot of good memories.
Absolutely loved this. My quilt isn't gonna be tee shirts exactly.. but alot of baby onesies. Same stretchy material. I realize I'll need to use an over smaller scale for the Xtra/filler blocks but you made my many fears and no starts turned into ABLE. IM NOW ABLE TO DO IT. I KNOW SO!. this is be a quilt for my wonderful daughter in law. She has given me three beautiful. Wonderful grandchildren and now I will be able to regift their old baby clothes into a gift for mom. Thanks for all your help. I'm a first time watcher tonight. Tracee
The theme for my t-shirt quilt would be trucking. My friend has all his shirts from all the companies he has driven for, perfect timing for this video, thank you! 😊
I collected T-shirts from every island I went to when I went on a Panama Canal Millennium Cruise years ago. I've just been waiting to figure out how to put it all together. And you just showed me how. Thank you so much.
I saved both my boys 4h shooting sports t-shirts. They would be great with this patterns. Haha they have only been out 9 and 10 years. But I bet they would still love it, would bring back great memories!
I'm making a memory quilt for our dear friend. I have her favorite tye dye t-shirts. I'm so excited to get started after watching your video. Thank you
I think I would make a t shirt quilt with ones we’ve bought while on vacation, i love the “I’d rather be ....” those types of shirts 🙂 It could a fun quilt to take on a road trip👍🏻
This is one of the prettiest t-shirt quilts I’ve seen! I have three boxes of t-shirts just waiting to be built into quilts. My late husband had a quirky sense of humor and loved to wear funny or ironic t-shirts, so box number one is his favorite t-shirts. Boxes two and three belong to my adult children, with cherished shirts from their childhood. Thank you for sharing this quilt with us.
I have saved all of my oldest son's Muscular Dystrophy camp t-shirts since he was 6 years old. I have been wanting to make a quilt with them, but just haven't been brave enough to start it. I definitely need this kit!
My grandson was recently killed when he was hit by a car. He was two his parents have asked me to make tshirt quilts for his siblings and them. I was having problems getting inspired I think you have have done it ! Thank you so much !

I have my grandson's baseball t-shirts and my daughter's band t-shirts that I've been wanting to make into t-shirt quilts, but I never liked the shirt on shirt on shirt design.
Time sure flies!
I plan to use my t-shirts I've gotten from rock concerts. Great tutorial. Thank you.
Yes!!! Just in time for me to make the promised quilts for my niece and nephew!!! Volleyball and golf. Just cut the first one out!!!!
I was a school librarian and have a bunch of book themed T-shirts, this will be perfect for those.
My theme would encompass my last five years in which I have been in remission from cancer. I love your show by the way.
Were you reading my mind? I live this. I have 5 grandkids who play every sport. T-shirts are piling up. Love you ❤
Love the setting on the Tee shirt quilt. My daughter is 28 years old and keeps asking me when I'm going to make her tee shirt quilt! She played soccer in elementary school and field hockey in high school. So, that's my theme. I'm motivated!!
My t-shirt quilt would be a memory quilt. I kept my husband's favorite Ts when he passed away. Hoping to make quilts for each of my kids.
I've made this quilt twice and love it. My next would be for a friend, his late mother's shirts
My t-shirt quilt would probably be a memory quilt. Made one for my daughter when she graduated and my son needs one also! Beautiful pattern!

My brother is donating his Harley T-shirts for a quilt. Your video is giving me courage to cut into them. I love the setting blocks 💕. Thank you!!
Mine will be running related Tshirts! From my long running career! So many memories!
Now I am going to do that computer t shirt. I've been looking at them for years. Thanks
I’ve collected all TShirt from my children’s summer camp in the Adirondacks. They will just love a quilt to remember all the fun with other campers
