Shelly - THANK YOU!! Your tutorial is amazing! I was going to pay to have a blanket made for my daughter of her college t-shirts as I am not an experienced seamstress. But in doing some research I came across your video and decided to try it myself. I have now made 3 blankets and they are perfect. Your attention to detail was so helpful and allowed the creation to flow smoothly. I appreciate you more than you know. I love these blankets! Thank you!
Thank you thank you THANK YOU! I have followed this tutorial step by step and now I have the perfect gift for my sister! Your instructions were so clear and made the process possible where I would have entirely given up. You’re an angel!
I've been putting off making my daughter a blanket for so many years because I'm afraid that I am going to ruin her beloved childhood shirts. However, after watching this I feel much more confident about jumping right in and doing it, so thank you very much for your easy to follow tutorial. I'm sure that I'm going to watch this a least 2 more times before I cut the material, and then maybe 3 more times before I begin sewing 🤣. You're a great teacher and I appreciate your patience for a visual learner like myself.
Thank you for this easy to follow, step by step tutorial! I followed all of your instructions and suggestions and made my first t-shirt quilt as a gift for my daughter's BFF who was graduating from high school - 56 12in panels of sports, schools, camps, and vacations! I was not intimidated to try it because of your excellent tutorial, and it turned out beautifully! Thank you!
you created such a straightforward video! I have a lot more confidence going into this project now because of how thorough you were in explaining each step. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this tutorial. My wonderful father in law passed away recently and I would love to make small quilts out of his t shirts for each of his grandchildren to cuddle. This was so helpful!
Thank you so very much. I have seen for 46 years but never have seen on T-shirts. I have been asked to sew 3 t-shirt quilts using shirts from their father who has passed. When I tried my first stitch the stitch width was all over the place. I pulled up this video and one about how to use the serge stitch on t-shirts and they were a godsend. I didn’t even know their was special needles for knots. Now I’m all set and looking forward to making them.
I have been wanting to make one of these for years but was so intimidated. This is the best video. I just completed my first one with your help and it looks so professional!!! Thank you so much for your help.
Thank you so much for posting this video; I finished my t-shirt quilt last night, and it looks great!! Your instructions were so easy to follow (especially for a rookie seamstress like me!) :)
Thank you for making such a great video. I have been wanting to make one for each of my kids, but was imitated to do so. I really appreciate your instructions and the visual of each step. You make me feel confident that I can now do it. I can’t wait to get mine made, and have my closest back from their saved shirts!
wow, thank you for this tutorial! I am planning on making my own t-shirt quilt and all the other videos I have seen are a bit complicated for my home machine. Yours is so easy to follow and I have the materials at home!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to make it and share it. I have one question regarding your opinion about fusible interfacing on the back of each square. Why do you not use any like some other quilters? Does it change the “comfort” of the finished blanket? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for this video with all the details, it will help me as a visual learning person. Can't wait to try it with my quilt. :) I love how you explain everything! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial. Really well explained. Just a tip... my mom used to use a plastic chopstick to push out the corner. In case that maybe helps.
Shelly, thank you for you detailed video on sewing a T-shirt blanket. I had never quoted anything before, so I was looking for a very easy " beginner" quilt. I had saved t-shirts for about 25 years from my 3 kids. I finally decided to attempt the feat of making their blankets. It was so easy following your video. I easily made all three quilts and then made another one for my niece using some pictures for her memory quilt. Now I have had two friends want me to make one for them. I couldn't have done this without you help. Thank you so much.
I just stumbled across your t shirt blanket tutorial, and I was wondering if I could use more t shirts for the back since I have so many t shirts and would like to utilize all of them on this one blanket. Your tutorial is so easy to follow and so very good.
Thanks for sharing. I’m sure there are many different ways of doing this. I was taught to iron on fusaeabke interfaving to each of the squares, then sew rows together, and glue onto fleece backing using Elmer’s fabric glue spray. Finished quilt by sewing binding around edge. Not sure which method would be easier for me since I’m a beginner. Just now working on my second one.
This is my favorite tutorial on T-shirt blankets. I have made lots of them & keep coming back to this video as a reference. I have a question for you ... how do you get yours to lay flat? Mine are wavy on the edges. I can show you a picture, if that would help.
Thank you so much for this video - I am not a sewer, but my boys wanted a quilt of all their high school sports shirts, your video made it much less intimidating to do - I'm all cut out and getting ready for the sewing .
I love your video. I have never used a sewing machine or sewn before, I just got my first sewing machine any tips on how to start using. I would love to be able to make one of your quilts.
Good Afternoon! I am planning to make a t shirt quilt. Saw this video, but am not sure how you keep all the layers together. Should I also sew down the seam lines and across once the quilt has been sewn to the backing to help stabilize the quilt?

Thank you so much for sharing this! I started one years ago and now I want to finish it...may have to re-do the work from before but that's ok.
This is a perfect tutorial to show that you don’t need interfacing to sew a tshirt quilt! thank you for sharing
Amazing video. I have watched many today, this was the first one that actually showed how to sew it together. Thankyou!
Great Tutorial, Simply and informative.

I'm making one for my daughter's wedding. With T shirts from all the parents and grandparents. I hope it turns out as nice as yours.
Thanks for taking the time to do this! Very good tutorial on t-shirt blanket.
You were very detailed. Thank you
Very neatly done! Want to make one for my family members. Love your work!😍👍🏽

That is exactly how I just sewed two for my granddaughter.
Does the glue make the blanket rigid? (I'm new to sewing... but want to make sure I take very measure I can!)
Did you use batting also?
I didn't use glue just left room on the edges and cut off after sewed together. I used batting.
Awesome! Thanks for posting!
This must have taken a lot of time, effort and passion. I admire that!
Very cool! 👍🏾
You are so good at this! I’m impressed at how neat you are, and can’t wait to start my quilt! 🙂
Can't wait to do mine
Thanks for all the great tips
That was great. Simple and clear👍

I have the same question. Hopefully we’ll get a response
this is very helpful!!!
Great video thank you
This was so informative- thank you so much!
Is there a reason you don't use stabilizer? I have never made a T-Quilt, but every video I've watched so far uses stabilizer. Yours looks great!
I love your work
Super easy to follow. Thank you!
Love this! What did you use for the backing?
Very informative, ma'am!
Thank you for the tutorial
Have been serving the quilt but find the edges don't lay as flat..will go back to my sewing machine
Very informative, helpful, and simple. Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much!☮️💗🦄🦄

I love your video. I have never used a sewing machine or sewn before, I just got my first sewing machine any tips on how to start using. I would love to be able to make one of your quilts.
This is going to be my first project as a new sewist! I’m excited! What is the board you used to measure out each square in the beginning?
Could you do a video about constructing the glorified nine patch block?
pam dunlap show me a picture of what you are asking. Thanks
Good Afternoon! I am planning to make a t shirt quilt. Saw this video, but am not sure how you keep all the layers together. Should I also sew down the seam lines and across once the quilt has been sewn to the backing to help stabilize the quilt?
Sorry I just noticed this message. ... I don’t, and it turns out great.
@@shellydasonthegraywrennest I just saw this message too! Thanks for your help!
Can you sew on the edges of the inner tshirts to make it move less or would that create issues?
Very nice video! Thanks so much!
Can you tack in the inside corners to keep it from shifting
very cool on the flip to get smooth eddges.. but is it like sewed in the middle or is it like just 2 airy flaps ?
