It's a complex society, primordial bonds of kinship superceding allegiance to the state, seminal tribal bonds, huge adherence to Islam (that's why an inclination towards Arabs because Islam's language is Arabic), I will say it again, it's pretty easy to speculate from the outside, but things are very complex within the social contract of the society. the narrative presented here on these platforms belongs to a minority (yet very vocal because of their access to the English language and digital communication), but the narrative and voice of the mainstream public is not heard of mainly, because those people are too focused on making ends meet on a daily basis.
I would like to recommend you a book, Pakistan, A Hard Country by Anatol Lieven who tries to explain these complexities in a very succint way. Pakistanis do not believe in Nationalism the way you do. Pakistanis do not believe in Democracy the way you do including myself. There are sound reasons for that. Some reasons may be preposterously anachronistic, but majority of reasons are pretty lucid. Mainstream people think that way and given the chance will vote that way too. Democracy, right ???!!! :D

On religion, I would say that all three of them are too dogmatic, expecting all followers to be like 'output of an extruder' rather than free and enlightened thinker. Plus ever thought why Indians and Chinese are more successful in USA than the Latin Americans ? Because here we focus on science and mathematics.
