What’s interesting to see is how shooting with the a7C’s screen, you are free to interact with your model, more so than when shooting with the EVF. Enjoyed watching your shooting style and the beautiful photos you captured. The 35GM is a real winner, can’t wait until they begin shipping!!!
Hey Julia ... the shots where she hanging off the fence, love the pose and images are wow !! Always blown away by your natural light abilities. BTW your model is so gorgeous.
@@juliatrotti would you say you prefer it to the a7iii now? As an a6000 owner, I reckon not having the evf hump seems to make the camera far less intimidating to people.
Hi, I'm Ivonne, thanks for your videos, I'm a beginner in photography, could you tell me what high-quality polarized filter I can buy for my Sony 35 mm 1.4 GM lens. Thank you for your advice.
Great endorsement for this lens! Hopefully in my budget someday, haha. Newbie question here, what's the big brick attachment on the bottom of the camera?
New cameras models and lenses come and go ..but those 2 shoots you have done with canon 5D Mark 4 and 35 1.4 mark 2 ..will still stand out as the best of yours😊 1) that country side golden hour shoot with Christina. 2) shoot with Christiana and baby goat Ollie ... I've always thought ,today you have all the new technology with canon , Sony , Nikon , Fuji .. etc ..still nothing can beat the character of your 5D mark 4 and 35 1.2 mark ii ..this Gmaster may be more sharper. . but the images nowhere nearer to those 2 shoots I mentioned above, they were pure magic ..hope you agree with me ☺️☺️
Hi Julia! I've noticed you are shooting without looking through eye piece, it this the way you shoot with all cameras? If you do you, what is it about shooting this way that you personally prefer over the other? Love this session and your edits!
I shoot like this off the back screen with a GFX100 sometimes on a monopod other photographers look at me like Ive two heads or something, great eye focus has changed things I think looking through a viewfinder is so dated unless theres a specific reason
Idk how you did it! I don't think I could focus, shooting under a tree covered in spiderwebs. Nope, nope, nope. I can't even see them in the video and I'm still getting anxious just watching lol Great job as always!
Thanks for sharing Julia. I have this 35mm f/1.4 GM on preorder and can't wait to get it. I'm not sure I like the distortion of 35mm for tight head a half body shots in this video. For these particular shots in this video I think 50mm or 85mm might work better. Just my personal opinion. Keep up the great work
Saaame, I can’t wait for mine to arrive! Haha yeah my 35mm portrait style is not for everyone, I personally really love the distortion. But yeah since this (and a lot of my videos) are lens reviews, I just use it for the whole shoot. Usually for a client shoot I would shoot the wider photos on the 35 and maybe a couple of closeups if it suits the style and then have an 85 for the closeups.
What do you prefer Julia on the Sony A7III, the new 35mm 1.4 GM OR the Canon 35mm 1.4 Mark II with the metabones adapter? Should I switch or not? I absolutely love the video en pictures! X
Hello Julia, comment and a question... For my faves I love the b/w around the 3:48 timeframe and then the one at 5:43. Okay question, which version of the iPad Pro do you use? I am getting one soon and trying to decide on which. Thanks!
Lovely model. Even more so when she's not posing. I'd be looking just for those moments. The hardest thing to get a model to do... not think about the camera.
Hi julia, everybody compared this lens to zeiss. Can you please compare it to samyang 35 mm 1.4? The price difference is huge (second hand samyangs are around 275 usd)
I want to make a comparison video between these 2 lenses because they are both super sharp and have beautiful image quality.. the Sigma is definitely a lot bigger and heavier though!
Amazing video and photos as always! This might be weird to ask but would you mind showing how you remove the bra straps in the photos? Do you use photoshop? And what technique? Thanks!
I see that you photoshopped out her bra straps, good work, and great video. Did you notice the straps during the photoshoot? Do you ever tell your clients to tuck them away?
Haha yeah, we tucked them in SO many times throughout the shoot but I think because of the shape of the dress, the more she moved the more you could see them again 🤦♀️
Sorry, I don’t mean to but it’s hard to be able to reply to every comment. And now unfortunately I’ve come across this one instead of your actual question :( I have the iPad Pro from 2020 and it’s a 12.9” - but let me know if your question was something else!

The queen of 35mm is pleased!!!! All hail the 35mm gm!!!!!
A7C must be Julia’s first in the bag camera these days. I’m definitely buying the earthy preset pack. Awesome content as always.
a7c is really great for fashion- it doesnt miss. plus a flippy screen is amazing for waist level portraits. cant wait for a74

a comparison with the zeiss would be amazing, especially if your able to compare flare in portrait scenarios
Julia can you pls do a tutorial on how you edit out the black bralette top she is wearing? 🥺

I will work on a video 😄
Comparison video between GM and Zeiss 35mm f1.4 please! Love your videos btw!
Yes agreed - Comparison video please :)
There are already numerous videos comparing those lenses. Conclusion: the Sony GM is way better.
amazing and beautiful photos
so glad you made this video, i´m looking forward on this setting!
Amazing Video! All the photos look amazing and the model is beautiful!

What lens does Dan use to shoot the video??? Video looks ammmmaaaazzzzing
The shots didn’t look too sharp... then I noticed the video was auto playing in 480... switched to 1080 and everything looked much better 🤣
Try 2160p haha 🤩

They’re definitely sharp. Sharpest lens I’ve actually ever used.
Great endorsement for this lens! Hopefully in my budget someday, haha. Newbie question here, what's the big brick attachment on the bottom of the camera?
Yes, what's that thing below the camera?
Seems like a battery grip/attachment kind of thing
I was wondering the same thing (also newbie). Maybe it’s a portable battery charger?
That's a Wireless Live Transmission device model is Accsoon CineEye2
Do you shoot with any filters over your GM35 lens to protect the lens? thank you
Gracias. Muy interesante. Sabes algo de los posibles problemas en Sony por los que no entregan los lentes 35/1,4 gm encargados?
Oh no! Do I need this 35mm GM now as well as my beautiful 24mm GM?!?

She does shoot like that regardless of what camera she is using. The viewfinder on the A7C is tiny!

Does anyone know when the release date is?
yeah its backlit, try it with a reflector or a little strobe for some fill! It'll bring those shots up to a whole new level! Good eye though for sure!
It’s a stylistic choice not to use a reflector or strobes, I like light AND shadows :)
