Thanks for this excellent video. We just picked up our 2500 today and really wasn’t informed of all the features and benefits especially with the 12 inch display. Appreciate you sharing this.
I also am going from a 2019 Laramie 1500 and will be ordering a 2023 Laramie 3500 when they open up the ordering system. Things ive learned from my 2019. I will not get a sunroof. I barely use it and the 1500 has the large glass roof. It adds so much additional heat into cabin. I also will not get power running boards. One thing you dont realize is how much fixed boards help protect from door dings. Otherwise I will order my 2023 optioned just like my 2019. Im going for the 3500 for the extra payload capability.
That $9400 Cummins engine is built just a couple hours from where I live. The headquarters is in Columbus, IN. A beautiful truck! I have had my Ram 1500 since 2007. The best truck I have ever own!!
Adding those gadgets, gizmos and luxury items really eats up the towing capacity. The Tradesman comes most of the essential stuff standard with only the need to upgrade or option a few things for increased work functions of the truck. And you get to keep more of that towing and payload that your after. That adds up to a big price difference in the end. The sirens song of the fully dressed out truck is strong, but at the end of the day I have to remind myself of what I am doing with it. I am tracking mud, dirt, water, and worse into the truck due to the work I am using it for on my farm. Just watching the wear and tear on my current truck and how bad it gets I don't want much in the way of frills. Hard wearing and working is the name of the game. Congrats on your new truck, thanks for sharing it with us.
Congratulations on the new truck, Brock! I love my exhaust break and use it all the time...hell, sometimes I use it without hauling anything. Very nice man!! I'm happy for you!! 👍
Beautiful truck, Brock! I'm so happy I still have my 2005 F350. I would never go back to having a car payment. It just seems like so much money now when I think back to those monthly payments for years.
Love the truck so far. Was a little surprised with some of the payload information. My last two videos covered what you can and cannot really haul with a three-quarter ton diesel The features you put on your truck make a big difference Thanks for watching
great video on the 2022 Ram 2500 Laramie Night Edition. Probably the best I've watched. Very thorough. Of course I hit that like / subscribe button. Thanks for the video Brock!
@@RockhillfarmYT that's awesome. I currently have the 2021 Ram LTD wit air suspension and love it. The Laramie I ordered has tuned shocks. Do you think it will give a good ride pulling an RV? Selling my home and going to live that RV life for about 3 years.
One heckuva truck. Congrats. My Sierra turned 91K coming back from my hunting lease a few minutes ago and I was just thinking I hope I don't have to buy another truck in my lifetime, but I don't think she'll last 30+ years! Congratulations on the new truck Brock. You have certainly earned it. I've been truck shopping for around 4 months now for pretty much the same truck as you ordered. My dad ordered a Ram 2500 limited just this week and has agreed to sell me his Ram 1500 Laramie which I am more than happy to purchase. It will be a better deal for me and keep me out of debt. The ram boxes are a fantastic option I wouldn't want to be without, but ram will not put the 5th wheel prep in a Rambox bed sadly. I will be interested to see where this truck will take you in business!
I just got a 2019 Laramie with 40000 miles, used (I lucked out). So far I love it! Yours has way more options. Very nice! I personally like your white letter tires out.
That’s a nice truck! My house didn’t cost much more then that truck 😂! It should pull whatever you need. Get what you want so you don’t regret it. We traded for a King Ranch Ford Explorer recently, it’s got everything a person needs, I told Tiffany I didn’t want to hear anything else about me buying a 1992 International 😆! Congratulations!
I made up my mind and did it, but It makes me sick spending that kind of money on a truck. I’ve bought two houses that combined didn’t cost as much as the truck
congratulations with your new truck it's absolutely beautiful, it has options that I didn't even know existed. I think if I were you I would buy one of those $2 black paint pens on Amazon and black out the white lettering on the tires and then stand back and look at it and if you don't like it you can always take the lacquer thinner and wash the black right off . you are now officially set up to pull your new skid steer can't wait to see the videos
Nice looking truck you got there, Brock! I wish you nothing but good luck with it. The tradition when I was a kid was to toss a handful of change into a person's new vehicle for good luck. If you showed off your new vehicle to enough people, you might be able to get a tank of fuel or a pack of smokes from it. I think you'll need more than some pocket change to fuel up that bad boy!
Brock, last time I made a comment I told you I have the exact same truck as your white one. The funny thing is I traded that in 4 weeks ago on a 2022 limited longhorn 2500 short box Cummings. I really like the truck. The plug you are calling an rv connector next to the 7 way is a 12 way that is used for a camera kit you need to buy from mopar that adds 4 cameras to the trailer. Once you add them you can set up the trailer size in u connect and it will add your trailer to the surround view with the truck. The kit is so new the dealer did not have a part number for it yet. They just showed the camera kit for the mirror on the back of the trailer. I to was disappointed in the payload, mine said 20,000 towing with 2100 payload. The truck we had was 1800 payload. It hard to believe my new truck can only haul 300 more pounds than my 1/2 ton. I find that hard to believe. Congrats. Nice truck.
Love this truck! Im from Australia and they have just released these trucks here. For the Laramie model (CUMMINS DIESEL) it starts at $170,000 AUD here which equates to about $121,000 USD! I really want 1 but its hard too justify the price! Congrats on the new truck mate, i hope you enjoy it!
Yes indeed that is expensive but that price is after the fact that the truck is converted to right hand drive. The factory doesn't produce these in right hand drive so a contractor does it over there.
@@4wdiesels yeah the contractor here (Walkinshaw Automotive Group) convert the trucks for around $45,000 AUD ($32,000 USD) which still makes this truck super expensive here☹
You got a nice truck my man… I love the colour also. I only got the Ram 1500 Longhorn 2019. My first Ram ever. Just love the truck and it’s been great so far. If I still towed my 5th wheel and boat I would get what you have.
You never said what you actually paid for it. Did you have to pay full sticker price? And when exactly did you purchase it? Absolutely disgusting what we have to pay these days. Great looking truck man. Looking to order one myself. Thanks for the video. 🤘
I just bought a 2022 2500 Diesel with the Sport package. What protective floor mats are those you have? I want some to protect my carpeted floor. Thanks for your help, your truck is gorgeous, nice video. Blessings
Thanks for sharing. Mine is a night edition and one review I saw showed a gloss black in that spot. Mine is a matte black. Never thought it might be a sticker and I’m not sure if I would like body color better than the black
I’m fascinated with the rear view mirror also. What’s silly is mounting you phone in front of the vent when you paid for Apple CarPlay and wireless chargers. 🙃 People can’t get away from their cell phones these days. Nice truck and great review.
In the future, probably, but Logistically I can’t make that happen right now My truck has the air suspension and I did a video using the Weigh safe hitches and driving back and forth to the scales I can safely haul anything I currently own
What a great looking truck. Ordered a 2500 longhorn at the beginning of December. Hope you see it in May. This will be my first Ram. Hope it’s everything I want it to be. Congrats!
I’ve owned a couple of dodge trucks before but this is my first 2500. I ordered in September , So may sounds about right. Congrats on the new truck and thanks for watching
Great video Brock. I ordered basically the exact same truck but in the Limited trim package. I love the color with the night edition. If you ordered it, how long did it take to get? I ordered mine about 3 month’s ago and it really hasn’t moved through the process much. Can’t wait to get mine! I have an 8 year old gasser 1500 with 160K that I am looking forward to retiring.
Congrats on the new truck. I came from a 1500 Limited It took me 3 months to get it. Never updated in the system until a week before it showed up Thanks for watching
Just found your channel. Great video and review. I’m currently in the market for a Laramie withCummins. I found a 2022 with 20 k miles. Curious if you would be concerned with the miles? How has your Cummins been and what is the fuel economy? Also the truck I’m looking at does not have the Anti Spin axle. Do you find the need for that option or will the 4wd help in those situations?
Congratulations on the new Ram. Personally I think that Ram has the best trucks since the last update. Besides Ford and Chevy are having problems at the moment. Do you like the 12 inch screen, or prefer the 8.4? Wondering because eventually I'd like to order one as well. Thanks Brock for another video! 🤠
I was tempted to get a Ford but since I’ve never owned one I would’ve wanted to test drive and those are not available That 12 inch screen is a must have for me. Because you can have your map up large but also have something else on the lower half Thanks for watching and for commenting
@@RockhillfarmYT Yeah I've got a 2013 F-250 and it's been a good truck. Nothing has broken after 145,000 miles, how ever it is a Glasser. Also have my granddaddys 2000 F-150, which is dead reliable. I live in Kentucky where the truck plant is and my neighbor works for the plant. Lots of electrical issues ever since the 2020 model year. I really do want a Cummins diesel though so might be saving up for one though. Thanks for your opinion on the screen, it'll definitely play in to ordering mine one day. Thanks
Super awesome truck. I really like it. What I never could understand is why they put carpet in most vehicles. Then cover it all with something. I had a truck that the floor was all rubber. It's not like I'm going to take off my shoes and socks and run my bare feet in the carpet while I watch RUclips.
Ram is okay! My best I have right now 2019 Denali HD “DURAMAX “! I love my truck when I get payoff I keep it I will get other Denali HD 3500! DURAMAX! Diesels are best !
Very nice truck!!! you work hard and deserve it!! any update on the storage hut construction. We haven't seen a recent video. Thanks! Keep up the great videos!!!
No Quonset updates. We went to Florida for a week and now it is really cold out so I have not worked on it for a while. High temperature today is 30 Temperatures are supposed to get back up to 50 next weekend so I will probably wait until then
Nice video and taking the time to explain some of the features. I am in the market and thing I thought I had no use for no I will re-evaluate because of this video. Did you happen to test drive the non-air assist version. Because if you get the Off-Road package you can't get the air assist. Wondering if there is any comfort difference in the ride.
I didn’t test drive anything because nobody had anything on there lots. My last truck had the air ride and I new I wanted it in this one Thanks for watching
Congrats Brock!! I'm proud for you. You mentioned you were able to save a few dollars but never covered it. I'm curious if there were any discounts being offered with the truck market like it is
Yeah, it was my intention to talk about the features that I left off which wasn’t much. I didn’t get rebates like they sometimes have but I think that kind of balanced out because by all rights I should’ve been upside down on trading in my two year old ram limited with 100,000 miles They actually gave me quite a bit more than I owed on it though The only “deal” they had is no payments for 90 days
@@RockhillfarmYT I didn't expect them to be offering any incentives right now. Thanks for another honest review video and keep us posted on how she performs after you work her hard a few times
I just hope I’m not making a transmission video on this one in the future. I love my dodge trucks but they just can’t shake the reputation of the transmissions not holding up. Not sure how much that carries over to the three-quarter tons
Exactly. Ram boxes would’ve been nice. It’s really practical to have more storage there although I like the look of the truck better without them Thanks for watching and commenting
@@RockhillfarmYT I think there are some aftermarket kits that let you install 5th/goose (with ram box). From what I understand, the reason they dont let you have both is ..something along the lines of the front of trailer (i cant think of the proper name sorry) hits the inside of narrower bed during turns.
Did the diesel eat your payload up? I'm picking up a 2500 next week, it's gas, 2900 payload. Has after market suspension & a kit, or it would be a bit north of 3k.
Yes, the diesel weighs, an extra thousand pounds, so it takes 1000 pounds off the payload rating. Although honestly, I think the truck can handle a lot more because it has the air suspension. I do try to stay within ratings though
@@RockhillfarmYT that makes sense. The one I'm getting has a Carli kit, no air susp, I'm just moving a 2k pop up bed camper. I would think for you if the load is well centered you can probably get away with quite a bit. Nice rig! can't wait to pick mine up
Beautiful Truck! Not sure if you know the answer but I just recently tried to build a truck on Rams website and for a Laramie trim level 2500 it does not have the towing technology group as an option. It's only an option for the PW and longhorn. Any idea why? Thanks
I don’t know why that would be. Mine is a Laramie and it has the towing technology package. I ordered in September so I don’t know what would’ve changed If you’re serious about ordering a similar truck I’ve done a couple more videos about understanding the payload on a three-quarter ton diesel. You might find those helpful because I was a little disappointed that the payload was not what it showed it was going to be on the website The next follow up video was checking my trailers with a Weigh safe hitch to see how much weight was transferring to the truck The BIG Problem with 3/4 Ton Diesel Trucks - Tow Capacity Vs Payload ruclips.net/video/yNhMLd6MJsw/видео.html Not trying to talk you out of it, just sharing info Thanks for watching
@@RockhillfarmYT Thanks so much for the reply and information. I really appreciate it! I was looking at payload and towing information on Rams website as well and they show different numbers for seemingly the same spec truck, weird.
That's a very nice truck. Personally I don't want one that is smarter than me so that limits what I can get. I currently have a 1954 Austin Champ (military - kind of like a jeep), a 1955 Dodge M37 (3/4t military truck), 2008 F350, 2010 Nissan Titan, and a 2015 Nissan Titan. The 2015 is the only one that has even an infotainment center and it's pretty limited in what it does. The 2 Nissans can haul my 20' trailer with a light load and the F350 can handle anything that I can haul on the trailer so I'm pretty well covered.
Sounds like you’re pretty well set on trucks. After I ordered this and waited for months there were several times when I was wishing I hadn’t ordered it and tried to buy an older used one
@@RockhillfarmYT Used market is as crazy as new. The important thing is you’re happy now that you have it. It should last a good number of years and like everything it’s about depreciation. Did you get the “you have to fight for it” extended warranty?
Yeah, they had used trucks on the local Ford dealership for over $60,000 I bought the warranty. I always say I’m not going to and then I end up doing it
How long did it take for your truck to come in after you ordered it? I ordered a truck similar to this on Dec 28th. I haven't got a build date yet only the Vin number
@@RockhillfarmYT will sadly that's stupid I prefer old school on trucks it not only cleans up the middle but also as some people say hope your not trying to fix the volume by accidentally touching the gear shift dial
How did you adjust the small side mirror. I know how to adjust the big one with the button but do you have a separate button for the smaller one. Thanks
OH Snap, I was really enjoying your review, for speaking about the towing, but then ... you never knew about the exhaust brake? Yea, you don't tow shit with this gorgeous truck
The video is really old. I’ve got 70,000 miles on the truck and I don’t remember exactly what I said in the video but I definitely know how the exhaust breaks work

The floor mats are a factory option so you would probably get them from the dealership
Thanks for watching
Try a magnet on the ( plastic ) Chrome interior trim.
Great review !!!!! Thank you
Awesome truck, Brock! Congratulations!
Thanks
That black strip between the door windows is a sticker I took mine off it’s truck color under it looks nice
Thanks for sharing. Mine is a night edition and one review I saw showed a gloss black in that spot.
Mine is a matte black. Never thought it might be a sticker and I’m not sure if I would like body color better than the black
Nice I bought a trade man 2020 model you love the Cummins you like the x Hurst brake to I pull a trump trailer and a tractor also
Awesome
Thanks for sharing
Yeah buddy that's nice. Congratulations
Thanks
Ordered it 3 months ago so I was ready to get it
I’m fascinated with the rear view mirror also. What’s silly is mounting you phone in front of the vent when you paid for Apple CarPlay and wireless chargers. 🙃 People can’t get away from their cell phones these days. Nice truck and great review.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts on it
@@RockhillfarmYT No problem at all. Are you thinking about getting a 3500? It has leaf springs.
In the future, probably, but Logistically I can’t make that happen right now
My truck has the air suspension and I did a video using the Weigh safe hitches and driving back and forth to the scales
I can safely haul anything I currently own
My 09 f350 fx4 srw is still going strong.
I came from a 1500 Limited
It took me 3 months to get it. Never updated in the system until a week before it showed up
Thanks for watching
I was tempted to get a Ford but since I’ve never owned one I would’ve wanted to test drive and those are not available
That 12 inch screen is a must have for me. Because you can have your map up large but also have something else on the lower half
Thanks for watching and for commenting
@@RockhillfarmYT Yeah I've got a 2013 F-250 and it's been a good truck. Nothing has broken after 145,000 miles, how ever it is a Glasser. Also have my granddaddys 2000 F-150, which is dead reliable.
I live in Kentucky where the truck plant is and my neighbor works for the plant. Lots of electrical issues ever since the 2020 model year.
I really do want a Cummins diesel though so might be saving up for one though.
Thanks for your opinion on the screen, it'll definitely play in to ordering mine one day. Thanks
Thanks for sharing your experience
Looks great!
That is a sweet looking rig you got there!! Congrats!!
Thanks
Beautiful truck!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I like it
Super awesome truck. I really like it. What I never could understand is why they put carpet in most vehicles. Then cover it all with something. I had a truck that the floor was all rubber. It's not like I'm going to take off my shoes and socks and run my bare feet in the carpet while I watch RUclips.
Nice truck buddy I am sure that thing is going to get a workout this coming year, Happy New year Buddy...
Thanks
Happy new year
Ram is okay! My best I have right now 2019 Denali HD “DURAMAX “! I love my truck when I get payoff I keep it I will get other Denali HD 3500! DURAMAX! Diesels are best !
Thanks for sharing
Congratulations, very nice presentation .
Thanks
I’d definitely flip the tires around the white letters don’t match
Thanks for sharing
If they were reliable I’d buy one for sure.
Very nice truck!!! you work hard and deserve it!! any update on the storage hut construction. We haven't seen a recent video. Thanks! Keep up the great videos!!!
No Quonset updates. We went to Florida for a week and now it is really cold out so I have not worked on it for a while. High temperature today is 30
Temperatures are supposed to get back up to 50 next weekend so I will probably wait until then
I love white letters on tires. I’d leave them as is.
Great review
What was the final price out the door on this bad boy?
White walls look good imo
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Nice video and taking the time to explain some of the features. I am in the market and thing I thought I had no use for no I will re-evaluate because of this video. Did you happen to test drive the non-air assist version. Because if you get the Off-Road package you can't get the air assist. Wondering if there is any comfort difference in the ride.
I didn’t test drive anything because nobody had anything on there lots.
My last truck had the air ride and I new I wanted it in this one
Thanks for watching
Nice truck.
Could you possibly show us the paperwork when you bought it to see taxes and all the little things for first time buyers.
I’m really transparent on the channel but I’m not gonna show the paperwork. It’s a lot different by state and by your credit score
Thanks for watching
@@RockhillfarmYT Was the out the door price msrp for you?
Yeah, I paid the price shown on the sticker
Nice review! Does the back seats recline? Also, what is the MPG?
The rear seat in my 2019 Limited 1500 declined but this one doesn’t
Probably Limited only feature.
Thanks for watching
I ordered a 22 ram limited 2500 6.7 in January. The dealer told me about a 3 month eta.
They told me 8 to 10 weeks and it was a little more than three months to receive it
Congrats on the new truck
@@RockhillfarmYT u 2
Congrats Brock!! I'm proud for you. You mentioned you were able to save a few dollars but never covered it. I'm curious if there were any discounts being offered with the truck market like it is
Yeah, it was my intention to talk about the features that I left off which wasn’t much.
I didn’t get rebates like they sometimes have but I think that kind of balanced out because by all rights I should’ve been upside down on trading in my two year old ram limited with 100,000 miles
They actually gave me quite a bit more than I owed on it though
The only “deal” they had is no payments for 90 days
@@RockhillfarmYT I didn't expect them to be offering any incentives right now. Thanks for another honest review video and keep us posted on how she performs after you work her hard a few times
I just hope I’m not making a transmission video on this one in the future. I love my dodge trucks but they just can’t shake the reputation of the transmissions not holding up.
Not sure how much that carries over to the three-quarter tons
The towing package won’t allow you to have ramboxes. This is due to possible damage while running a 5th wheel.
That makes sense
Right. You cannot have Ram Box and the 5th wheel together. It is either one or the other.
Exactly. Ram boxes would’ve been nice. It’s really practical to have more storage there although I like the look of the truck better without them
Thanks for watching and commenting
@@RockhillfarmYT I think there are some aftermarket kits that let you install 5th/goose (with ram box). From what I understand, the reason they dont let you have both is ..something along the lines of the front of trailer (i cant think of the proper name sorry) hits the inside of narrower bed during turns.
Thanks for the info
Sweet ride Brock ✌🏻
Thank you sir
Sweet truck
Thanks
Nice truck Enjoy.
Thanks
Nice rig! can't wait to pick mine up
@@StrateOutdoors congrats on the new truck
Oh wow, you’re in Cherokee county! What town are you in? I’m out of Crawford county, Pittsburg.
Wow. Small world. We are between Pittsburg and Columbus.
Are you a tractor guy or did you find the channel because of the truck?
@@RockhillfarmYT mostly because of the truck. I’m a Ram/ Dodge truck fanboy.
👍👍👍👍👍
Nice truck man!
Thanks
Great walk around brotha...I'm looking at trading the raptor for a real truck lol
Thank you sir. I’ve been happy with it so far.
I hauled the skid steer with it for the first time today
Beautiful Truck! Not sure if you know the answer but I just recently tried to build a truck on Rams website and for a Laramie trim level 2500 it does not have the towing technology group as an option. It's only an option for the PW and longhorn. Any idea why? Thanks
I don’t know why that would be. Mine is a Laramie and it has the towing technology package.
I ordered in September so I don’t know what would’ve changed
If you’re serious about ordering a similar truck I’ve done a couple more videos about understanding the payload on a three-quarter ton diesel. You might find those helpful because I was a little disappointed that the payload was not what it showed it was going to be on the website
The next follow up video was checking my trailers with a Weigh safe hitch to see how much weight was transferring to the truck

Not trying to talk you out of it, just sharing info
Thanks for watching
@@RockhillfarmYT Thanks so much for the reply and information. I really appreciate it! I was looking at payload and towing information on Rams website as well and they show different numbers for seemingly the same spec truck, weird.
I looked mine up in this video and then 2 weeks later it shows me different numbers which doesn’t make sense
@@RockhillfarmYT Weird. Doesn't make sense. Makes it tough for us as consumers if we can get accurate consistent info..
Now I want a new truck.....just need to find a small pot of gold :)
I keep hoping to win the Powerball but my odds would probably be higher if I bought tickets
Just get rid of the Firestone tires before they blow up on you get some Toyo, or other brand. Be safe.
Thanks for sharing
Love your truck
Looking to get it in red 😀
Sweet
2 Grand for a 12 inch display 🤯 Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave right now!
Yeah, they had used trucks on the local Ford dealership for over $60,000
I bought the warranty. I always say I’m not going to and then I end up doing it
Cummins still makes the best diesel engines, thats the best thing on your truck.
Beautiful truck when you are spending that much What is another 10 or 15% more to get what you want
That was kind of my thought but I don’t love the payment on it.
Great truck though
How long did it take for your truck to come in after you ordered it? I ordered a truck similar to this on Dec 28th. I haven't got a build date yet only the Vin number
Ordered in the beginning of September and came at the end of December. No updates in between
My new truck is in shipping status 2 to 4 weeks away from getting it.
Congrats on the new truck.
Is the column shifter optional or only on diesel trucks cause I prefer column shifter on regular fuel trucks not the middle stick or door knob
The 1500s have a dial shifter
The larger rams have the Column shifter
@@RockhillfarmYT will sadly that's stupid I prefer old school on trucks it not only cleans up the middle but also as some people say hope your not trying to fix the volume by accidentally touching the gear shift dial
How did you adjust the small side mirror. I know how to adjust the big one with the button but do you have a separate button for the smaller one. Thanks
Yes, there is a button that switches the same control pad so that it is moving the small mirror
Thanks 😊. I gotta go look for this button 😂
😂 duh I found it. I thought that top buttons was the heated mirror button. Thanks again
