There are also stories of kids being forgotten in the car and then dying because of the heat. She could've gotten distracted one day and that could happen. I think the lady who said that perhaps the mother isn't ready to be a mother can actually be right. She put the child in danger multiple times, like for real?

Exactly! What she thinks of as a few seconds or minutes was enough time for her husband to take their kids without her knowing. This should be her reality check that anything can happen when you leave your kids unattended. Hire a babysitter when you have errands to run. Its extremely reckless to leave them alone.
I sent a fake clinic letter to a cheater and those couple of days of panicking waiting on his negative results probably changed his ways .

@LRN I am very involved with the animal rescue community in my city. A few years ago there was this big local news story about a woman who left her disabled dog in the car while she ran into Walgreens. She left the car running with the keys in the engine. A thief jumped in the car and took off with the dog in the back seat. The animal rescue community was posting all over and searching for the dog. Finally someone found the car abandoned on a street with the dog dead in the back seat. The poor dog suffocated to death. There was so much decay and maggots that she had to junk the car. It really hit a lot of people how important it is to not leave your pets unattended, especially in public and to lock your car doors.

So her “opinion” was only that she didn’t agree with this father saving his children from a potentially tragic situation and teaching his wife a valuable lesson about their safety. Awwww man how messed that would have been. To tell her multiple times don't do that and the baby really gets kidnapped. He should have waited to see if she called him but hopefully she has learned her lesson.

After multiple conversations and she still leaves the child in the car, so she doesn’t care obviously. She lucky it’s her husband and not CPS or a criminal that took the child. Hopefully that fear she experienced will cause her to change her actions.

This happened to a much older friend of mine at a local gas station in NC. She left both of her kids in the car while she ran in to pay for gas and someone got in and drove off stealing her car without noticing the kids in back seat and they had her phone too! Luckily someone else reacted calling the cops right away and both kids were safe. Idk if she learned her lesson but definitely an eye opener for the rest of us

Imagine the feeling the dad had knowing she was leaving the baby unattended in an unlocked car. Good on him for doing what he had to do to get the point across. It wasn't too harsh considering the danger she continuously put her child in
He went overboard but he taught her a valuable lesson and brought her back to reality. I believe he made a tough decision and the right one if she wasn't listening and taking what he was seriously then what would make her change.
He should now get full custody and leave that woman.

The mom may have been upset but one mistake would ruin her children's lives and their parent's lives. When the babies are gone - no one is going to care that you needed to save an extra 5 minutes or 10 minutes or a headache to run into a store. You have to take the time to do the right thing; this is not a part of life where you should cut corners. You have a responsibility as a parent to keep your children safe and her decisions to do this deliberately and repeatedly to save a few minutes puts her kids in danger.

Exactly! Being a parent requires having lots of patience. Little chores will take longer and require more energy. You will work hard, you will lose time and you will be tired. That's part of the job. If you are not willing to deal with the inconveniences, then don't have children.
I usually agree with Adrienne on some topics, but this time, I disagree. This mother wasn't learning. What the father did was drastic, but it was a HUGE wake up call for her.
I agree with the dad. When my kids were little it was a hassle taking them in and out of the car, but I did it every single time, even if they were sleeping I took them with me. There are many stories of kids dying in hot cars after being left alone or going missing. That mom needed that lesson. We went to the lake for a picnic and my 4 year old nephew ran off to the park because he wanted to play and we asked him to wait a little bit because we just got there. The family was in tears and frantic cause we couldn't find him for about 2 minutes and there were so many other people at the site, we legit thought someone took him. It was an absolutely awful feeling. Parents, please don't take those risks with your kids.

It’s not cruel at all. If my Husband left our baby in the car when he went into a store, I would second guess my relationship with him and never trust him with my child, I would NEVER (and have never left) my child in a car unattended. No matter what!

My mom lost me at Las Vegas when I was like 4 or 5 years old I remember crying and then being calm and being like ok I need to find security lol and tell him I’m lost. My mom founds me minutes later and I was happy with security 🙂

In this climate probably not the best “ prank” to pull… but sometimes you have to do too much to make a point and I hope she got it ! Some parents don’t realize how much can happen in under 30 seconds to 10 maybe 15 minutes if they’re shopping while their children are in the car ! I remember here in Chicago like last winter… a woman went into a gas station and her children were in the car and a man got into her car before she came back out ! Luckily one of her children was brave enough ( even tho they shouldn’t have to be worried about this ) to start hitting the man in the back of the head while he was driving and he pulled over like a block away and got out the car

The crazy thing is I've always wanted someone to do something like this to a person who has a habit of leaving their small kids in a car alone just to teach them a lesson that all it takes is a few seconds of opportunity and carelessness for your child to be in harms way. I applaud that husband
I have younger cousins and a younger brother. I remember even as a teenager I would get anxious if they would walk behind me and other older family members in public spaces. I would keep looking back or tell them walk infront. Even as a teenager I knew how easily someone can come up from behind and take them without me or an adult realizing it.
A temporary feeling will save her from a lifetime of pain.

I remember when my daughter was a baby. She was between the age of 1-2 years old, and I had to drop off items at the dry cleaners. The time it took me to take her out of the car was far longer than it took me to drop off my clothes. I Did Not Care!! This is my daughter. To this day, she's a teenager now, whenever I go into a store I make sure to lock her in the car. Of course she can get out, but can't Nobody get in unless I'm there.

She actually means that she did not care how long it took her to get the baby out of the car .... the child was going into the cleaners with her even. Even though it was going to take less time to drop off her items if she went in alone she wasnt going to leave her baby. You are both on the same page about protecting children at all cost. Trying to save a few minutes by taking the risk to leave them alone can lead to a lifetime of horrors.

I've watched enough criminal minds to know that it takes a few moments for someone to take a kid. There was one episode where a little girl let go of her mom's hand for a literal second and another kid kidnapped the kid for his parents. You can never be too careful
Naw, I feel the husband on that. Get her attention by any means necessary for the sake hog your child. She wasn’t listening to the conversation so she had to be scared straight. Hopefully she gets it now.
Dad was right, better she learn the lesson as a "prank" as opposed to reality. Especially if she's already traveling alone with her child she's an automatic target, if the Dad was able to monitor their movements, it's easy for others to notice as well. Some people are creeps and will follow you if they think you're alone.
If it’s an issue now I hen she knows the baby is absolutely helpless imaging how much more negligent she will be when the kid gets even the slightest bit of independence...I hope she can get it together. the father needs to start documenting everything Incase he needs to take her to court for custody. Family court often aides with the mother even when the father is more qualified to be the primary caregiver

Speaking as a nanny, not a mom.........this was extremely necessary. If you think THIS is cruel and disheartening for her to feel.....imagine if it ACTUALLY happened. Imagine what she would feel if the child REALLY was gone. So as a person in childcare who would lose their entire career if this was their scenario, this is 100% valid. Parents love to think they know all and see all like God l. Baby, no. Somebody else is watching that baby. PLEASE be careful.
*This is a lesson that had to be taught and I guarantee you that she doesn't do it anymore. That feeling is terrible.*

I feel like Adrienne fully understood the impact of the child being taken. So everyone saying she “doesn’t get it” because she hasn’t had kids from her own womb - check yourself. She IS still a mother.
She was saying she thinks there should be another way to teach the lesson other than faking a kidnapping. In a perfect world, there would be.
I also feel bad for the mom because my family went through a similar situation.. but that also makes me understand the father and why he did what he did. As long as he didn’t PROLONG the lesson, I think it was one the mom had to learn.

And the fact that she did not see her HUSBAND take the child says it all. That's a long time and so much could happen.
If you don't want to take the child in places with you then take care of your errands when your child is at school, daycare, babysitter, spouse/coparent. You never leave a child alone. It only takes seconds. Adrienne saying "is there anything else he could have done"... please if he talked to her and she continued to leave the child alone she saying "nothing has ever happened before I don't care what you say". I don't ever let my child go the bathroom alone when we're in public places.
My boss did that to a coworker of mine, who kept leaving her young son in the car while the car was started. My boss and others told her several times that she shouldn’t. She didn’t talk to my boss for weeks after that, I hope she learned her lesson.
